Planet Pluto is smaller than Russia. It’s a fact. Another fact is that the EU via Reuters is peddling the birth of a “Christian “Taliban” by a “maverick” battalion.
I don’t understand Polish politicians. They lick the Hegemon’s boots like a popsicle, and once in awhile, out of blue, they stop licking, spit saliva full of shoe polisher and blurt out the truth. Like the Polish economist Zdzisław Sadowski saying that once US troops enter a country, they will never leave:
The silence of the Russia’s government about the US troops arriving everyday to Ukraine is puzzling. It’s a direct and blatant violation of the Minsk II Agreement for which Russia is being sanctioned. Russia has to respond by introducing sanction against the US for violating the Minsk II Peace Agreement signed by Kiev authorities and the DPR and LPR. Russia should hold America’s feet to the US’s instigated fire. Beat them with their own weapon. Give them a symmetric response. Keep the US honest to their own “truth.”
Not only the US is keeping boots on the ground in Ukraine, the US transferring CIA’s ISIS schemes and methods to Ukraine. This time, however, CIA uses the “Christian” theme. Moscow Must Burn”: Ukraine’s “Christian Taliban” Pledges Anti-Russian “Crusade”
Will these undertaking result in all Christians being seen as “terrorists?” Time will tell.
There is another Middle Eastern connection that I can see. The birth of “Christian Taliban” reminds me of a heart to heart conversation I had with a security officer in Ben Gurion Airport . He noticed an orthodox cross on my neck and asked me if I was a “Christian Terrorist.” I responded that such animal didn’t exist, as being against the nature of this religion. One can be either Orthodox Christian or terrorist, but one cannot be both. “There is always the first time for everything,” the officer whispered ominously, looking straight into my eyes. I suspect that the Israeli security services have been midwifing a birth of the “Christian Taliban” for quite some time now.
About burning Moscow…It was Kiev the Ukrainian Nazis burned first, when the Labor Union Hall was burned on Maidan and the Berkut prisoners in the building on the top floor were handcuffed to the batteries and burned alive. Odessa was second. Mariupol was third, when in May 2014 a number of Militsiya were burned alive in the Militsiya HQ building in Mariupol. Previous burning of people by the Ukrainian fascists include Khatyn, a village in Belorussia.
The Soviet leaders, who were mostly ethnic Ukrainians, covered up the simple truth that people in Khatyn were burned by a death battalion of Ukrainian Nazi collaborators. The last of them died in Canada in May 2015.
He was a member of Schutzmannschaft Battalion 118
Here, you can read a study of the activities of the Schutzmannschaft Battalion 118, a collaborationist formation made up primarily of Ukrainians. Formed in the spring of 1942, it served in Belarus until July 1944. The core of the unit consisted of Ukrainian nationalists from Bukovyna.
According to my grandmother, who spent three years in a Stalinist labor camp, in the labor camp all the guards were ethnic Ukrainians, all the management heads were Jews, and all the prisoners were Russians.
Research on the ethnic makeup of Stalin’s camps are being done as we speak. Remarkably, the NATO Ukrainian war liberated the Russian society from any attempts to cover up war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Ukrainian nationalists. Germans were blamed for many of them. It was a time honored Soviet tradition to cover up the crimes of Ukrainian nationalists, and also Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, and Finnish nationalists, for the sake of friendship between all nations in USSR and the Warsaw block. It worked until it didn’t.
Off topic. A Belarusian name of the village Khatyn has linguistic roots in Middle East. Khatun is a word used for the village in Iran. Khatun (Mongolian: Хатан, Khatan, Persian: خاتون – Khātūn, Urdu: خاتون – Khatoon, Turkish: Hatun). Ukrainian nationalists claim that the Ukrainian language predates Russian and has “ancient” roots. Sure, why not? A Ukrainian word “hata” for a village house with straw roof has the same linguistic root as the name of the Belorussian village the Ukrainian Nazis had burned with its people. It’s the same word that people use in the Middle East and Asia from Turkey, to Iran, Mongolia and even Japan. It’s the word “village.”

Russia and Eurasia
With the new US sanctions against Russia’s taxpayers, and with more countries joining, the last to join were Montenegro, Albania, Island, Lichtenstein, Norway and Ukraine, all the European countries cut their trade with Russia. And it brings me to an inevitable conclusion that when the Silk Road is build, it will be forced by the European sanctions to stop at the Russia’s border. With the sanctions in place, China won’t be able to ship its goods to Europe via Russia, and Europe won’t be able to transport goods, and people to Eurasia via Russia.
Europe ultimately will hinder the China’s Silk Road project by confiding it to Eurasia, and by cutting itself and isolating itself from the growing Eurasian economies.
Essentially, the economic war on Russia is also an economic war on China and Eurasia via the Silk Road.
The European ban on trading with Russia, is also a ban on trading with China. It’s becoming clear that the whole scoop of anti-Russia sanctions are to isolate Europe from Eurasian and to affix European trade to the US exclusively. For its own prosperity, the US need to suck sovereign countries’ wealth dry. Since Russia and China are not an eager and easy targets any more, Europe serves just fine.
Europe’s rulers calculate that the economic hardship will bring a violent revolutionary “regime change” in Russia, with new pro-West government to “return” the country to the West to be flogged and dismembered, I assume. But, at this unlikely scenario Russia would be under the full US control, like Ukraine now. The US opposes the China’s Silk Road and to the development of Eurasia all the way. “neglect of China’s strategic interests in Russia by the West may prove to be a tactical blunder of the highest magnitude.”
Peper Escobar writes in the introduction to his new book “Empire of Chaos: The Roving Eye Collection“: “Incrementally, I have been arguing that Washington’s number one objective now is to prevent a full economic integration of Eurasia that would leave the U.S. as a non-hegemon, or worse still, an outsider. Thus the three-pronged strategy of “pivoting to Asia” (containment of China); Ukraine (containment of Russia); and beefing up NATO (subjugation of Europe, and NATO as Global Robocop).”

Sanctions Have Failed. ‘Buy Russian’ Is Working [source]
Western sanctions may result in the resurrection of a food super-power which competes with the EU on global export markets. The showdown with Russia over Ukraine and the imposed sanctions may eventually cost Europe much more than the present or future foregone sales of European produce in Russia. They may result in the resurrection of a food super-power which competes with the EU on global export markets.

Pakistan has finally been accepted as a full member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). And this has happened thanks to active support of China and Russia, its time-tested friend and a bitter-foe-turned-friend, respectively. Pakistan, with this new status, has effectively divorced itself from the bondage of its US friendship in order to join a new fraternity. It may be better to say that Pakistan has joined SCO not only to break free from the US clutches and crutches but also to be in synch with the changes taking place at a fast pace. This is something Pakistan could not have imagined to achieve just a decade ago.”
“Which is evident from China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) worth $46 billion. Russia would be pleased to chip in in this venture. Pakistan has already diversified its sources of military supplies and is gradually minimizing its dependence on the US and West. It nuclear program is comparatively the safest, effectively controlled and its nuclear weaponry of the superior quality.
With its deep-sea port of Gwadar, Pakistan would provide shortest supply routes to China and Russia and also Central Asian States. It naval forces would be strong enough to protect its Sea Lanes of Communication (SLOCs).
With the world’s 6th largest standing army, one of the finest nuclear arsenals, swiftly changing internal security environment for the better and its geo-strategic location, Pakistan should be all set to play its role to create at least some ripples, if not chaos, in the existing world order which is manipulative, oppressive and unjust.”

NATO is preparing for wars in Europe. I think they are going to use the upcoming market crash and the EU dissolution that will follow, as an excuse to have false flag attacks and to start the war in Europe. The US needs a war in Europe to cancel its own loans. Russia won’t take a part in any of this, and NATO don’t have enough guts to attack Russia.
5. US Army Building Roads in Eastern Europe, Citing ‘Russian Aggression’ [source]
They already have the tanks in place, now they just need the roads for them to drive on.
In a bizarre twist of fate, while NATO with the US money builds roads over the Baltic swamps, the Highway Trust Fund in America fell into insolvency.
“Today it’s the Highway Fund. Tomorrow it’ll be the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation (we’ll talk about that one soon) and the United States Postal Service.
Then it’ll be Social Security and Medicare. Then the Federal Reserve. And eventually it’ll be the United States government itself.
The signs are everywhere– every single one of these hallowed institutions is flat broke.”
“Bankrupt governments invariably resort to plundering the wealth of their citizens. Inflation. Higher taxes. Confiscation of assets. Indebting unborn generations. And defaulting on the benefits promises they made to voters.” However, in case of the US they still have an option of plundering other countries to keep their own going. With the US debt estimated to be over $200 trillion, and with the major American institutions going for broke we will see more and more conflicts going up in Europe, around Russia, Asia, Latin America. No county is safe.
Is NATO promising the Eastern European countries a payoff if they participate in attacking Russia? That’s why Baltic countries, Montenegro, and occupied Ukraine are whipping up their population into fascist lather. However, as one commentator eon ZeroHedge says, “No more wars. Blood and Treasure are too valuable to be fighting other people’s wars.”
Of course, there is another way out of their misery, to untangle themselves from the deadly grip of the US and join the countries of the Eurasian Union in development trade, industries and agriculture and to have a peaceful prosperous life, without feeding the Hegemon. But that would be peaceful and beneficial for their nations, to their people, and not for the military industrial complex of the US. The US won’t allow this.

‘“Christian” theme. Moscow Must Burn”: Ukraine’s “Christian Taliban” Pledges Anti-Russian “Crusade”’ – sounds more like catholic to me. Note that yats is a catholic, both biden’s are catholics, with the son jesuit trained; the Polish EU approved Eastern Partnership is catholic, as was the creation of the (forerunner) EU by jesuits; the catholic church HATES anything not catholic, i.e. under its control/authority, in particular the Russian church & Russia.
Thanks Scott for the huge collection of interesting information and for following on board.
Just I watched the video about Maria Gaidar, and feel it is a damned play of the History ( or maybe not, this rabble never stitch without thread ) that she has been in the government of the Kirov Oblast. By God, the good of Kirov will have been stirring in his grave.
On the idea suggested in the video that perhaps she is the new instrument of Yeltsin´s clan to avenge Putin, I always found a mistake they will be freed from facing justice for their crimes against the Russian people and, to make matters worse alike, to keep all the collected fortune plundering the Russians and selling the country to foreign interests. They should have been tried for high treason, dispossessed of all his wealth and banished forever from Russian soil. The same for all “reformers” who remain alive in Russia, as Chubais.
Certainly, I did not know how she could hide that was Gaidar´s daughter, ( btw, one has to be miserable and coward enough to do such thing ) because she has the same face of the scoundrel father, the same sly smile of those unscrupulous believed safe from reversal of fortune and from responding to a court having what is needed to have to put them in place….behind bars.

I tink this news is THE BEST:
“Ex-Ukraine PM launches ‘salvation committee’ to win power in Kiev, end civil war”
Surely, this is the only way to normality – create a real alternative for people to folow and eventually vote for. Saying that the current Ukie politicians are all rubbish (and they are) is not going to solve anything – offering better ones is going to solve it, eventually.
but then, there was the headline on the Sitrep that the ex-prime minister of Ukraine was missing…
Nice return, Scott. Exemplary.
One point I differ with is EU blocking Silk Road products and services at the Russian/EU border.
China has bilateral agreements with most nations and the WTO is the institutional rule of law behind flow of trade.
They might try to box in Russian products and services, but all the others have to flow.
Also, most of the large nations are signatories and funding members of AIIB. It will be the ram through any obstruction.
The fact is the Hegemon must destroy Russia or China to stop Eurasia. They cannot do it with economic sanctions.
In fact, it is more likely EU will be in crisis and coming apart before Eurasian operations are in full swing.
The real threat of war will be the moment the US actually understands that the Great Game is Over.
Just as likely, at that moment, the US will be so busy with internal violence as it represses its own citizens who will not accept the corrupt and immoral government and fascist controls. There is no future without violence. Internal and external, the disconnect with traditional values has reached a boiling point in the the US. Everyone knows the government is not reformable. Everyone knows their vote is meaningless. (Everyone is anyone who thinks.)
The moribund economy, the endless wars, the corruption, the repression of privacy and the disconnect between the governed and the government machinery are profoundly at historic disruption.
In order to rule, the Dems have divided every group from every other. This will constitute “battle lines”, all of which is part of the same planning the US uses in other nations they want to destroy.
The whole Jade Helm strategy is built to repress the rage engendered by the Dems with their deliberate destruction of traditional values, rule of law and the notion of a democratic republic. Enough Americans still want this construct.
So, with chaos in its own backyard, the Great Chaos Hegemon will have its hands full.
“Everyone is anyone who thinks.” I should add “Everyone is anyone who thinks…. and is interested.” By following this blog and reading the comments, whether agreeing or not, it is natural to conclude that interest in national, let alone world, affairs is widespread (I refer to the US). Regrettably this not so. During a recent meeting I attended, someone mentioned the Balcans. One other party asked, “Where are the Balcan islands?” The same party is a professional, held in high esteem by employers, and at one time manager of a professional office. An exception? I wish it were. It is almost unimaginable how little interest Americans at large have in anything other than what comes out of the tube, however irrelevant or idiotic it may be. In the collective consciousness, irrelevant or idiotic are those who have an interest. I always hope against hope to be proven wrong.
For more than forty years, the American school curriculum and content of study has been dumbed down. In all subjects, in all presentation, in all media, content and connection is tissue thin.
There is no concern about facts, knowledge, critical thinking, relevance.
Feelings and behavior control by authorities is what children, students and adults learn.

This accounts for most of what is wrong with America.

Wasn’t it Thomas Jefferson (or another US founder) that wrote about the need every few years to “spill the blood of tyrants” to keep freedom intact. In today’s World that would be considered “incitement to violence” and the writer at Guantanamo. But as I see it,he understood back then the way the World actually functions.War as horrible as it is,is most times the agent of change in the World, his and our World.Hopefully the coming war won’t be nuclear. But, that one is coming, I don’t doubt. The Rubicon has been crossed long ago.
As to the EU,Russia, and China.I don’t see the point of pretending about that.Russia,China, along with most of the World doesn’t need the Empire and EU to survive and build a decent life for their peoples. If by magic those ceased to exist tomorrow the World would still function.Babies would still be born, couples fall in love, people eat, jobs still need to be done, etc. There is nothing produced or found in those countries not able to be produced,or be found in other areas. The multi-polar World states need to plan their economies as if the West didn’t exist, and move on.When and if the West see’s reason, and wants to join the “real World”,let them. But until then, count on them for absolutely nothing.
Larchmonter445–Unfortunately, it seems the planet will force the matter far sooner than anticipated given we’ve reached “The Point of No Return” regarding rapidly altering the climate, http://www.commondreams.org/news/2015/08/05/point-no-return-climate-change-nightmares-are-already-here
As the author notes, “Of the two dozen or so scientists I interviewed for this piece, virtually all drifted into apocalyptic language at some point.” An example: ‘Alin’s frank discussion of the looming oceanic apocalypse is perhaps a product of studying unfathomable change every day. But four years ago, the birth of her twins “heightened the whole issue,” she says. “I was worried enough about these problems before having kids that I maybe wondered whether it was a good idea. Now, it just makes me feel crushed.”‘
A new video argues/details “We Are The Asteroid” as we rush pell-mell into the 6th Great extinction, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPq9YAg9mfc
This goes along with Elizabeth Kolbert’s recent book, “The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History.”
The people of planet Earth are between two massive rocks about to clash together–The Outlaw Empire’s quest for total domination of the planet and the climate change brought about by the historic and ongoing technologies enabling that quest. Neither has a good outcome, and the issue of climate change is unfortunately altogether ignored by this site despite its massive importance. The Catch-22 is you cannot fight to defeat the Outlaw Empire without exacerbating the climatic situation, and the Outlaw Empire doesn’t give a shit about how many people it destroys on its way to Full Spectrum Dominance–even if that outcome results in a totally wrecked planet and massive species extinction, including humans.
If Russia and China want a somewhat stable future, the Outlaw Empire must be defeated before the end of the decade so all efforts can be turned to mitigating the Climate Crisis. There just isn’t any other way!!!!!!!!!!!!
“the Climate Crisis”
You are going full MSM here.
I live on the Oregon coast and get to see what’s happening to our climate and marine conditions on a daily basis. If you think the Climate Crisis is some sort of game/propaganda ploy, you are sadly mistaken and cannot be considered a serious investigator into anything.
“There is always the first time for everything,” the officer whispered ominously, looking straight into my eyes. I suspect that the Israeli security services have been midwifing a birth of the “Christian Taliban” for quite some time now.
In partnership with the Anglo Americans, the Jewish imperialists are the greatest sponsors of terrorism on the planet.
What percentage of these terror groups that we always hear about (Al-Queda, ISIS) have been actually spawned, armed, and backed by the Anglo-American Zionists?
The fact that the United States, Britain, Israel, or their allies are not considered terrorist nations, and in fact can masquerade as anti-terrorists no less, demonstrates what kind of Orwellian world we live in.
Ignorance is Strength
War is Peace
Terrorism is Anti-terrorism

“The silence of the Russia’s government about the US troops arriving everyday to Ukraine is puzzling. It’s a direct and blatant violation of the Minsk II Agreement for which Russia is being sanctioned.”
Russia is too fearful to stand up against the U.S. enough to assert its rights or those of its brethren/allies when they are being blatantly violated.
“With the new US sanctions against Russia’s taxpayers, and with more countries joining, the last to join were Montenegro…”
Russians have a lot of investments and many Russian tourists have been going there for many years. I wonder if they will do anything about Montenegro’s actions against it. The fact that Montenegro stabbed Serbia in the back by “recognizing” Kosovo “independence” shows that it can’t be trusted. If it had resisted, at least for a few years, and only gave in after big threats, then maybe it could be understood, but they “recognized” it early in the game.
I agree with you.I was thinking the same earlier. There should be action taken over these betrayals. In Montenegro’s case a denial of Russian tourism would be a good first step.An appeal should be put out to Russians not to vacation in sanctioning countries. Those that do so anyway should be exposed as unpatriotic citizens.Willing to put their personal pleasures over the good of the nation.

Sure, why not? A Ukrainian word “hata” for a village house with straw roof has the same linguistic root”
From the book of knowledge “The name Canada originated from the Saint-Lawrence Iroquoian word Kanata meaning “village” or “settlement”.[2]
I am not a linguist, it could be just a coincidence but the similarities a for the word village in Iroquoian is striking.
Scholars seem to shy aware from the study of native American tribes.Granted it would be hard. But still more could be done I believe. There are old legends that some tribes were mixed from the old Viking explorers from centuries past. And if true, that might be a basis for the similarity in that word. Most languages in Europe, the ME,and South Asia, are what are called “Indo-European” languages. They all contain some words with a common base.So that might be a possible connection.
Paleo-Linguistics is where you’ll find the investigation of Native Americans you seek. Same with history as most is compiled by anthropologists, which is why I took it as a minor. Two of the best North American universities offering Native American Studies are CSUHumbolt and Northern Arizona.
If you need a Summer or Fall vacation destination, you can’t do much better than the Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota followed by viewing the glaciers at Glacier National Park before they disappear. Here’s a link with pics to former, https://crazyhorsememorial.org/
Chris, I doubt it’s a coincidence.
I hope what follows will make you smile.
Because you posed that interesting word “investigation” and the question, I thought once again about something I’ve wanted since I first used it for a research paper in high school, way back in the late 50s — The Oxford English Dictionary. So, I got a notion to check online and happened to find it (in the photographically reduced, 2-volume edition that comes with a magnifying reading glass) at a price I can afford; and I bought it! It is a most amazing reference book for anyone who reads/writes English (or tries to), and an unending source of delight for one who loves words, their current and historical uses, and their origins.
Quite recently I enjoyed my 73rd birthday, so I’m calling this my birthday present to me; but I must give you credit, as well. Thanks!
hata = hut too??????
Thank you Scott.
Here is Azarov’s interview with English translation via RT for you.

Thank you Baaz for the Ukraine/Russia, Plus West vs Non-West SITREP.
Rgds,
Veritas
@ Scott,
First of all, many thanks for you and Daaz picking up the baton of providing eagerly awaited sitreps and all of the time and effort the 2 of you pour into it.
Hat in hand.
The US is a shady, Vegas poker player, that keeps changing rules on the fly. In the animal world, a mercy killing would be called for.
‘Israel’ makes it sound like it’s a legitimate country. It is not. it is an Apartheid Sate and I label it as such, until all its illegitimate inhabitants have moved to Florida and the Palestinian land returned to its rightful owners.
“Ronny, it’s midnight. Time to call that old widow on the West Bank. Yeah. The same as usual. Dial, wait for her to pick up and say nothing and repeat every hour upon the hour… One day her house will be ours!” – My frivolous attempt at being funny? I don’t think so. This is a real story, not a figment of my imagination?.
Hey Scott !! Fantastic sitrep as always…such heartening news about Kurds and Assad…best news in weeks !!
Umm the shot from the past link is a dead link. Any chance of a live link?
Oh yeah !! I didn’t see that the second part of the sitrep was Baaz….how very ‘low profile’ of you Baaz…I sent this to several people saying it was Scott’s…oh well, maybe they will see your name…but thank you also for fabulous sitrep…
Huzzah a sitrep from Scott and co many thanks.. Question for legal experts
in view of Poro setting up AFU a muslim battalion specifically to target /reclaim Crimea, at World Congress Tatars, that Putin and Lavrov have been a little more strident re recognition implementation of Helsinki agreement re in violation of borders and right to self determination, can Putin now announce that in effect Poro and Ukraine has declared war against Russia and broken Helsinki?
And that Turkey as host of WCTatars has aided and abetted and also can be declared at war with Rus?
Or at the least this empowers Rus to sanction or any other action to Ukraine(and Turkey considering only 1 out of the 4 proposed pipelines has a building permit so far from turkey ?) to the hilt in any way they can, that Ukraine is now an instigator sponsor of a battalion perhapssimilar to Daesh/ ISIS ?
Which mirrors and proves USA strategically using muslim peoples to be Syrian rebels and elsewheres etc etc perhaps…….
further to my posting just now
http://fortruss.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/poroshenko-planted-time-bomb-under.html
“Poroshenko planted a symbolic time bomb under Ukraine with his promise of creating a Tatar autonomy in the Ukrainian Crimea.
Kiev political analyst Andrei Zolotarev talked about this with “Politnavigator”.
“Of course, this statement of Poroshenko raises the same question, as in the case with the Minsk agreements. If we recognize the special status of separate districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, then what about other regions? Similarly, if we recognize the special rights of the Crimean Tatar minority in Crimea, then what about the special rights of the Romanian minority in Chernivtsi region, Hungarian in Transcarpathia… Such maneuvers give rise to the issues that sooner or later will surely backfire, — the expert believes.
At the same time, the Director of the Ukrainian Institute for the analysis and policy management, Ruslan Bortnik believes that after the statement of Poroshenko about the readiness to provide the Crimean Tatars with national-territorial autonomy in the event of the return of peninsula to Ukraine — a similar issue can be raised by the representatives of the Russian, Hungarian or Romanian minorities living in Bessarabia, Bukovina or Transcarpathia.
“The President announced this initiative, but could not realize it, because he understands that if this right is granted even de jure (and you cannot provide it de facto, because Crimea is not controlled by Ukraine), the same rights may be demanded, for example, by the Romanian National Rada of Bukovina, Transcarpathian Hungarians, the Russians of many Ukrainian regions. Therefore, it is limited only to such statements, in the attempt to attract the support of the Crimean Tatars in the struggle for Crimea, first of all, as an instrument of political pressure on Russia,” — said the expert.”
Article from Counterpunch which perfectly displays the casually murderous mentality of American imperialism:
http://www.counterpunch.org/2015/08/05/the-brookings-institute-plan-to-liquidate-syria/
The author, another ‘policy’ wonk, discusses how Syria should be ‘deconstructed’ – as if the Syrian people -nevermind their homes, schools, hospitals, infrastructure, civilization, history – are nothing but cattle to be ‘moved’ (or slaughtered) around by US government ..
They have laws against ‘hate speech.’ But politically-motivated war-mongering is just fine and dandy.
How about the largely useless UN finally declare such sentiments to be incitement to violence/ open violation of the principle of sovereignty and condemn them? How about a principled declaration against colonialism/imperialism?
Syria, among others should track these publications and demand the UN addresses them.
Eimar–Actually, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights does condemn colonialism and imperialism, plus such are inherent in the UN Charter as is pointed out by numerous countries almost constantly but never published by the Propaganda System. As Iran constantly reminds, even threats of war are violations of the Charter, but never punished.
Thanks for a fantastic sitrep; best takeaway is Kurds joining Assad and Turkey descending into Civil War. Erdogan seeking to be Ghengis Kahn; too late, mate!
Russia? Well, many pundits are saying Russia should be.. Russia … but what about Russians, what are they saying? They are going to make a Hiroshima and Nagasaki into Crimes Against Humanity for a bombing that was totally unrelated to war when Japan’s multiple attempts to surrender were ignored. A violation of the Nuremburg aricles, the very ones the Yankees created! What was Hiroshima? The biggest Christian enclave in Japan at the time, the most active anti-war activists, too. So did Hirohito have private deal with Uncle Sam to level them out of existence? They tried but, damn, curse, them cathedrals withstood the full blast! I always thought that there were syntax mistakes in “God bless America…” America? Now where is America? Could some one point me to an authoritative encyclopedia or atlas? I was in LA once and asked some one on Hollywood Bvd, and they said,”Beats me!”
In August, most likely tougher Russian policy towards Ukraine
https://z5h64q92x9.net/proxy_u/ru-en.en/etoonda.livejournal.com/1509883.html
– “…I do not exclude that in August could be a serious escalation in the Donbas. In my opinion, it is no coincidence that Russia is now strenuously forms in the Western military district of the First guards tank army, which will give the best armored forces in the border districts, including Kantemirovskaya and Tamanskaya division.
This is very symptomatic of step. I will remind, in due time Vladimir Putin discussed the issue of sending troops to Ukraine. At the meeting the President invited former military generals-retirees who served in Ukraine during Soviet times. They know what resources are needed to quickly establish military control over the “independence”. Apparently, considering the real state of our Armed forces, the meeting concluded that the resources available to maintain military control over Ukraine is not enough. And that in the Western district urgently need to recreate the shock of “fists” in the form of guards tank armies, as it was in the USSR.(…)”
There might be a Russian legal difficulty to using the 1st Guards Tank Army in the Ukraine, as well as a practical one. According to http://www.loc.gov/law/help/russian-georgia-war.php:
“Federal Law No. 93 of 1995 on the Procedure of Providing Civil and Military Personnel for Operations to Restore International Peace and Security regulates the participation of Russian military personnel in peacekeeping operations.[19] The Law defines general issues regarding parliamentary control over the decision to send Russian peacekeeping units for international operations and establishes the rules of recruiting, training, and sustaining the activities of members of these peacekeeping units. A separate provision prohibits the service of draftees abroad as well as their participation in military operations, including peacekeeping operations, leaving this duty to professional officers and volunteers.”
As far as I can tell, the law is still in effect. I could find no no mention in either English or Russian Wikipedia that the Kantemirovskaya and Tamanskaya divisions of the First Guards Tank Army are manned by volunteer contract soldiers. (Maybe warfare.be mentions it behind its pay wall. Absence of evidence does not mean evidence of absence of course, to coin a phrase.) So unless they are, they are predominately manned by draftees, excluding sergeants and officers. In which case the law would apply to them. Russia could of course disregard the law in an emergency for raisons d’Etat, as it seemed to have in the 2008 war with Georgia. But if Russia really intended to intervene in the Ukraine, professional contract units from VDV airborne would be more likely, unless the Ukrainians were stupid enough to attack across the border. (Which of course they might if the Empire egged them on, or permitted their paramilitaries, who’d need no egging on.)
(The practical difficulty, IMHO, is that since draftees only spend eight months in line units, they are likely poorly trained for major offensive operations, in spite of snap exercises.)
Baaz & Scott–Tremendous thanks for your efforts.
Outlaw Historian: fine, but useless.
The point I was making – clumsily – is the absence of protocols and mechanisms to enforce the Charter provisions.
Here we have an open declaration of intent to violate the integrity of a sovereign state. And this is routine in the States. So why does the UN – not publicly condemn such ‘plans’ with press statements at least?
It would at the very minimum establish a basis for prosecution for war-mongering. These barbarians are effectively planning – openly – to launch large scale serial-killing: the peoples of Syria have no border with the US, and have never issued equally violent threats to to the sovereign integrity of the US.
Yes, I know all about the cynical reality: that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be challenged.
These bellicose psychopaths need to be loudly and vocally declaimed. These are *actual* not alleged threats. Maybe Russia and China could take the lead in demanding prosecution?
Sorry for the rant – and thanks for the reminder.
Eimar–I, too, share your frustration and anger that the UN is just as toothless as the League of Nations was. Many condemnations have nonetheless been made by the General Assembly through votes and debate, but which are never publicized by the propaganda System for obvious reasons. Thus the hatred of the UN by the Outlaw Empire’s fascists despite their having owned its leaders after killing Dag Hammarskjold in the Congo–which provided the hubris to kill JFK: The “Secret Team” got away with both killings along with millions more since. The country of my birth was an Outlaw long before I was born. Some say 11/22/1963 was the day the USA died. I disagree; it died with the coup in Philadelphia in 1787, destroying the Sprit of ’76 and the government formed and governed by that ideal.
Their population manipulation specialists allready midwifed the “Christian Taliban” in the 1970’s. It’s known as Christian zionists, an odd phrase about which most don’t notice the contradiction of terms contain therein. The zionazis also probably got in early on the creation of “al qaida”, they certainly are heavily involved now. They have also been long involved in creating the current Christian terrorists, more commonly known as nazis, neonazis, skinheads, etc., without which, to fear, zionism hasn’t much meaning for the average sucker. And like with the “Muslim”, these new nazis don’t tend to do much against Israel or Jews, but concentrate their efforts upon those the zionazis want destroyed.
Thanks for the sitrep, Scott and Baaz, very informative selection of material.
Great sitrep – thanks Scott and Baaz.
The link to Porky’s US indictment on pdophile charges gives a 404-not found. Could you give another one with the details? I can’t believe it’s not in the public domain..
