The current situation in the Ukraine is even more unstable and unpredictable than before, and at least three major developments might have a crucial impact on the outcome of this civil war.
The Russian humanitarian convoy
The situation with the Russian humanitarian convoy (287 trucks) is as confused as ever and I am personally still completely clueless as to what the Russian plan exactly is. I mean, yes, of course, it is to deliver that aid to the Novorussians, but it is also much more than that. For one thing, it draws attention to the horrors being committed by the junta in Novorussia, it shows that the Ukies themselves don’t give a damn about the plight of the Novorussian civilians and it shows that Russia is willing to do alone that which no other state or even so-called “humanitarian” organization would even consider.
But, of course, things could get really ‘hot’ if any of the following occurs:
- If the Ukies block the convoy at the border.
- If the Ukies hijack even part of the convoy
- If any of the drivers and personnel gets hurt
The problem is, of course, that the Ukies might want to make sure that one or several of these things do occur so as to trigger the Russian intervention the junta so desperately needs. Russia, of course, understands that, and yet the Kremlin is going ahead with the plan. Does that mean that Russia has already decided that an intervention is inevitable, so why not make it happen on Russian terms? Maybe. It’s just too early to call.
There is one very important element I want to bring up here: most people believe that Switzerland is neutral and that the ICRC is not only at least as neutral as Switzerland, but that is also composed of, and run by, idealists who want to help the suffering people. Sadly, neither is true.
Switzerland is not less Uncle Sam’s bitch than Poland or Lithuania. The difference is that Switzerland is a much wealthier bitch and that it can afford hiding its prostitution. But make no mistake, the Swiss elites are for sale and they will never have the courage or dignity to stand up to US orders. As for the ICRC, it has two “layers” so to speak: the young delegates who really do work for idealism and the ‘big shots’ in Geneva and in charge of major delegations worldwide. These ‘big shots’ are completely part of the European plutocracy and they are also at the orders of the USA. Worse, these ‘big shots’ not hesitate for one second to place the young ICRC delegates in harms way if that serves the ICRC’s marketing needs (to, for example, tell the donors “everybody left, but we stayed”). Also, the ICRC is hugely dependent financially on countries such as the USA and its allies. So please make sure that whatever happens with that convoy to always remember that the ICRC decision-makers will obey the USA no matter what.
The good news is that the Russians are fully aware of that. They still remember the ICRC’s mix of arrogance and gross incompetence in Chechnia (which ended up costing the lives of six ICRC delegates) and they have no illusions about the ICRC’s “neutrality” or even basic decency.
MH17 – gone missing again
Did you notice that MH17 is completely out of the news? We were promised voice and data recorder analyses, we were told that experts would be visiting the area and investigating the scene. We were told that various kind of proofs of this and that will be provided. And then *nothing*. Silence.
Needless to say, except for the TV-watching zombies who get their news from the idiot-tube, everybody knows what really happened. First, as I said it many times here, the USA and Russia know for sure, and there is a good chance that so do France and Switzerland. Then, there are a lot more people who don’t have the proof of what happened, but who also know. And I bet you that many reporters and journalists in Kiev also know. As for the Internet/blogosphere, while there are some disagreements over what exactly happened, nobody that I am aware of seriously believes that the Resistance did it. So that leaves only one option: the Ukies did it.
So why not finally say so?
Because the AngloZionists are buying as much time to the junta as possible.
They *know* that there is no stopping this story, but they also know that unless and until the true account of what happened to MH17 makes it into the MSM it might as well never have happened. But the clock is running out. If we can fully expect the Dutch and the British to do and say whatever Uncle Sam tells them, I would not at all be so sure about the Malaysians. For one thing Malaysia is hardly a pro-US country, especially in its public opinion, and, second, the Malaysians will inevitably wonder why their people were chosen as the sacrificial lambs in this US-run false flag operation.
This is also, I believe, the reason the Russians just said the very minimum to disprove the ridiculous version which Washington and Kiev proclaimed only hours after MH17 was shot: they know that if they say something it will be dismissed as “propaganda”, but if the Malaysians do, then it is going to be awfully hard to dismiss them. I also believe that the Russians have leaked whatever is needed to the Malaysians to make sure that the latter are not duped by the AngloZionists.
My hope and belief is that in the not too distant future the Malaysians will blow the cover on the AngloZionist fairytale and that they will officially accuse the junta of that mass murder. At which point, Uncle Sam and his European minions will simply say that “they have come to different conclusions” and use the MSM to bury it all in the collective memory hole. That, at least, is the plan. Whether the Empire will succeed in covering it all up in anybody’s guess.
The military situation on the ground
The situation on the ground is still very serious, possibly critical. By all accounts the Ukies are attacking on all fronts and with massive firepower. As usual, the vast majority of those killed are civilians, but there is only that much the Resistance can do to “plug” the various “holes” in the frontlines which the Ukies are using to try to get through. The good news is that, at least so far, every single Ukie group which managed to break through has very rapidly found itself surrounded and, mostly, destroyed, but how long the Resistance can keep up with such heroic efforts is unclear, to say the least.
My sense is that both side s are throwing all their energy and resources because they feel that time is running out. The danger of that is that either side might reach a breaking point and rapidly collapse. I sure hope that the Russian General Staff is confident that the Resistance is not reaching its breaking point yet, because if it does, then it will be next to impossible for Russia to intervene to prevent a complete collapse of Novorussia. Maybe this convoy is designed to do just that? I don’t know.
Latest news: UPDATED!
Several contact have just emailed me to inform me that Igor Strelkov has reportedly been seriously injured. I sure hope that this is not true or, at the least, that his condition is not as serious as reported because he is a crucial Putin-ally in Novorussia. I will try to keep you posted.
UPDATE: all my sources now report that Strelkov is fine and that this rumor is false. Good.
Kind regards,
The Saker
The truth seems to be slipping through in the media…

“Even Hitler didn’t bombard his own”
Interestingly, De Volksrant , the Dutch newspaper the above quote is found in, has a daily circulation of 250,000.
Perhaps the tide is slowly turning? Let’s hope Russia’s humanitarian aid brings the world’s gaze onto eastern Ukraine. It seems the “powers that be” are trying their very best to dissuade any attention in that direction.
The commander of the battalion “Dnepr” Yuriy Bereza wants to attack Crimea and Moscow according to the following interview with German state TV.

At the end the narrator says that 10000 people have already died in the civil war.
As an amateur observer of this conflict, I would look on any and all ‘news’ happening over the next 24 hours with a jaundiced eye. The hysteria started with the convoy announcement and it hasn’t stopped, and it’s only getting worse today. As usual, it’s impossible to tell what is really happening, but I believe that despite the appearance of total chaos that the Russian Federation is executing an active war plan designed to repel US aggression, expose the fatal contradictions in Europe and lay the foundations for a multipolar world. In 24-48 hours the situation may be significantly different but the war will continue. Victory or death.
REPORTS COMING IN ARE SAYING IT IS FALSE THAT HES BEEN BADLY INJURED
REPORTS COMING IN ARE SAYING IT IS FALSE THAT HES BEEN BADLY INJURED
I have been trying to discover the status of the convoy. Whilst googling, I ended up looking at an article in the UK Guardian ‘newspaper’ (forgive me for my sins, it was a moment of weakness). It seems that the mobile radar unit filmed turning into a military base at the end of the ubiquitous YouTube video of the convoy being prepared has morphed into an S300 missile launcher. Geez, what a load of bs. It would be a sign of hilarious incompetence it wasn’t so serious.
The SBU tries to cover its traces by deleting pictures of the BUK 312 from its website.

This is a reaction to the debunking of BUK 312:
“But something particularly interesting is that rather than coming
from Russia as Ukraine is claiming, buk number 312 appears to be a
Ukrainian buk. The evidence for that is in the video below, uploaded
5th March of this year, where we can see a number of Ukrainian buks
all lined up in a place called Horlika (or Gorlovka). The third buk
in the line is number 312.”

Note that the NYT has an article claiming that 70% of the German public approves of the sanctions against Russia. Clearly the MH-17 downing has achieved its goal–the propaganda worked flawlessly. Since Germany is the critical state actor in this crisis this spells trouble for the future. As long as Russia and Putin are demonized Washington wins. How can anyone counter the U.S. propaganda machine? It can make most people believe almost anything.
NAF is denying report that Colonel Strelkov had been injured, they say that the report was disinformation by Ukies.
he Ukies say that they attack the convoy if it contains soldiers or if the Red Cross does not approve of the convoy.
Saker: “They *know* that there is no stopping this story, but they also know that unless and until the true account of what happened to MH17 makes it into the MSM it might as well never have happened.”
Sure they can stop that story. At least in the minds of the vast majority of those whose opinion matters to them i.e. the home audiences in countries of significance.
I’d much rather bet against the combined Nato military forces than against the combined western mainstream media. The latter is WAY more powerful.
BEREZIN HAS SAID HES NOT INJURED FALSE INFO BEEN PLAYED OUT IN MEDIA
But is he injured?
Look at the extreme horsehoe detour which Egyptès Sisi took to avoid flying over both Ukraine and Turkey!
This is significant:
http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/egypts-el-sisi-avoids-turkish-airspace-with-huge-u-turn.aspx?pageID=238&nID=70406&NewsCatID=352
The impression I get is that the Ukies are throwing everything they’ve got into one last push, trying to finish off Novorossia before Banderastan collapses.
And yes, the silence about MH17 is indeed deafening. How convenient, eh? I’ll write something up about that later today.
About the technology thats been around, Google is now applying for resolution where they can use a face scanner with a profile pic of you to let you know information about yourself or let others know were to find you. This is legally.. But they have technology where they can read the sms you get on your phone. So if they can make out a coin on mars with the satellite they are launching in 2018 and they can already do that with the moon, then they surely could see who fired the missile since the US monitors the entire world for missile launches and high explosive tests. They also have commercial services with positions and information of planes in real time which malayasia did not subscribe to just like they can also do with ships, buses and trains but its not like they dont monitor you just because you dont pay them to do it dont mean they dont do it anyway. How can the US loose MH370 with such tech? Or not know exactly what happened with MH17. Russia says the MH17 shoot down happened exactly when a US spy sat was right over the area.. Other wise it takes a few hours to be in a particular area normally. But they can still detect a ballistic launch within minutes. The US has now disrupted the Iran, Iraq, Syria gas pipeline to europe.. Even talks about splitting Syria and Iraq to bring peace.. The US cant find any targets to bomb in Iraq either.. So ants took over half the country and hide underground.. But they can still drone civilians in Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan and other countries.
What could happen if Russia moves into Novorussia. Does anybody really think that Europe would start a war with or without the US? Can anyone really imagine Germany to fight another war againstRussia? Following comments in Der Spiegel I get the sense that most Germans get the propaganda and are opposed to Nato plans.
I do not think Europe is keen to engage Russia in a fight. The popular consent to those actions is lacking, and the economics in France, Spain etc. do speak against it.
The only ones that might be willing are the English.
I think Nato hasn’t really thought through the consequence of the game they are trying to play.
Strelkov does not need to make a public appearance to prove that he is well – if he does so he gives the enemy an opportunity to find his location.
If Donbass and Luhansk are in fact surrounded, is it possible that the Russian game plan is to deliver the aid and then fill the trucks with rebels and equipment to get everyone of importance back?
Brilliant strategy, use what everyone expects is an invasion for an evacuation. Ukraine will not inspect the trucks as they leave.
“I am personally still completely clueless as to what the Russian plan exactly is.”
But you got it perfectly right somehow: the convoy is meant to CONFUSE!
(and you’re likely not the only one :-) )
I think that the whole convoy issue, is Putin’s way of giving European countries a second chance. After the Russian counter sanctions, I bet that lots of EU governments would like a way to make a u-turn about Ukraine but without losing face.
If anything happens to the convoy by the Ukies, it is the perfect pretext for lots of countries to go neutral.
Kiev prepares invasion to Crimea
Via Voice of Sevastopol:
The administration of the President of Ukraine hosted a meeting with the participation of American military advisers. The Pentagon believes that the Ukrainian army should start preparation for the organization of a full-scale military invasion of Crimea.
Evaluation of available to Kiev opportunities performed by Pentagon experts showed a virtual absence of a required amount of water crafts and related repair facilities that would be necessary to prepare force and military equipment landing on the Crimean coast.
Specific tasks to supply an army with appropriate water crafts were given to the military-industrial complex of Ukraine at that meeting. Americans, in turn, are ready to assist Ukraine. They are ready to provide military and technical assistance in the modernization of Ukrainian enterprises and to transfer decommissioned water crafts from the armies of Bulgaria, Romania and Poland to Kiev. The Pentagon has also promised to assist Ukraine in placing orders for the preparation of water crafts in Germany.

You’ve got a very very good theory! I hope you are correct here as the timing does seem to coincide with the food sanctions. The question is, will Europe kill itself so that the Americans can play silly games in far-flung-regions?
Some parts of the UK media slowly seem to be stepping backwards from the rabid talk. Being awash with Russian oligarch money, I doubt London can afford to piss off the people that finance the British economy.

Perhaps an MH17 grand reveal coupled with a failed humanitarian mission (blamed on Kiev), may well allow the Europeans to run with their tails between their legs.
Fingers crossed.
Humour:
Avakov says Russian dolls must be banned immediately.
– They are treachorous things, he says. Take a look at the Matrioschka, for instance. A doll within a doll, like a ruse within a ruse. Who knows what Putin hides there. Russian dolls are a typical maskirovka-thing. Trust me, I know these things. Besides, girls should play with Ukrainian dolls.
Fogh Rasmussen says Avakov has a point. You can hide lots of things in dolls, he says. Money, ammunition, even weapons. Innocent looking dolls are exported to Ukraine and then end up in the hands of the terrorists. We know for certain that lots of dolls have been brought to the border.
Obama says Russia must stop exporting dolls or face more sanctions. We must protect the children, he says. What if the contraband ends up in innocent people homes?
It takes a village to do it, says Hillary Clinton. I just threw away my suspicious dolls. Now I will buy freedom dolls.
Carl Bildt, who just invested heavily in doll production, wants one of the international courts, unclear which, to ban the sale of Russian dolls.
Barroso says Putin has really gone too far this time. The dolls must not be allowed to cross the border, he says.
No word from Merkel yet.
“Switzerland is not less Uncle Sam’s bitch than Poland or Lithuania.”
You have hit this right on the head. CH is scared shitless, most of the time. Its politicians, for the most part are rank amatuers. The press is highly russophobic. Naivity rules the day. The banks rule the country and, at the moment, the USSA rules the banks. ‘Better dead than red’ is the theme for a lot of people. CH is nuetral on demand or when it suits their purpose. Its weapons industry is flourishing. It may soon allow weapons shipments to human rights violating countries. However its air force only flies during office hours and not on weekends.
But then when you are but a spot on the map that could with a bit of effort become DE or AU or whatever you have to dance to everyone’s music. It’s schitzophrenic, so far it has worked how much longer it will work is anyones guess. If the EU collapses, as some predict, CH will do ok. If the EU survives CH will continue bargaining to keep its ‘favored status’.
As for the Red Cross, all one needs to do is follow their history in WWII and its aftermath regards Nazi DE. We can also add the RC church to this list. It’s all a pile of s*it. We buy it hook, line, and sinker.
“So I say to you –
This is how to contemplate our conditioned existence in this fleeting world:”
“Like a tiny drop of dew, or a bubble floating in a stream;
Like a flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
Or a flickering lamp, an illusion, a phantom, or a dream.”
“So is all conditioned existence to be seen.”
Thus spoke Buddha.
The collapse timetable:
Militia will be overwhelmed in August, or not at all.
Ukies will be broken in November, or not at all.
Good weather has benefited the Ukies. All their weapons systems require solid ground and clear skies. Their logistics will suffer enormously and their troops in place will starve and surrender.
So, any strategy to keep Kiev in pain and force out the junta (perhaps a Putin plan) requires the militia to keep strengthening at a rate higher than their loss rate so they can add 200 fighters per week.
From the video I saw this morning, the populations getting bombed and shelled are talking joining the fight.
Miners, old ladies, everyday people can’t take it any longer and will take up arms and be another firing position for the militia. Many of these are useless as true militia, but a gun firing single shots keeps junta troops in jeopardy. If several thousand more civilians become partisans, this is all good.
Once the weather turns bad, the people will need the militia supply lines from Russia. They have to begin supporting the men who will be feeding them when every normal supply line is cut off.
The front has to hold for 90 more days. Or bad weather has to start sooner.
So far in this war, the attrition is at 50%. Villages and towns are devastated. Cities are crippled.
With increased magnitude of weapons used to strike the infrastructure and civilians in their homes, it seems unlikely there will be anything left standing in the next 45 days.
The Ukies can control a perimeter and starve out the rest of the people. They want them all dead anyway. Then bulldoze the rubble next year.
A waiting game for a counter-attack is not a sound plan. Neither is holding a front. What works is surrounding large columns and obliterating them.
Pain in the West Ukraine must be increased. It does more good than anything else. The junta must be kept in fear of their own people uprising.
Everyone knows surrender is the path to safety for the Ukie troops. This must be continually offered and made public each and every day. Undermine the Ukie command structure with the conscripts’ mothers demand for safety for their sons.
This is more reliable than “weather” as an ally.
Never expect Putin to act. He has other fish to fry.
Though I think there is a secret resupply going on now while all eyes are on the convoy.
My knowledge of the local geography is weak, but aren’t there crossings from Russia to the Donbas Republic from which the Ukranians have been ejected?
Could the convoy use one of these without dealing with Kiev?
O/T To follow up a bit on just how awful our governance is, how ’bout this:
http://en.ria.ru/world/20140813/191981482/US-Loosens-Ban-on-Lobbyism-in-Government.html
That’s right, folks. The whole article is well worth reading but the major takeaway is that, while lobbyists for private individuals are still banned,
“The White House Office of Management and Budget published Wednesday a note of revised guidance on the work of Lobbyists in the American government. It allows registered lobbyists to participate in policymaking following a ban issued in June 2010, Politico reports.
The private sector is now entitled to an advisory role in the executive branch of power, with lobbyists for corporations and industry groups allowed to serve on more than 1,000 industry boards, panels and commissions, the ruling published on the Federal Register website suggests.”
Excuse me while I connect a hosepipe to my car exhaust, close the windows, start the engine…
:-) nailed it. I guess they’re just making official what already was common practice. Kinda like Shahm-Blech!-Bile-y in ’99 (or whatever their real names were, Graham is the only one I can remember correctly) undoing the restriction on bank/investment/insurance co. mergers among other things, much of which was already going on in the shadows. Industry lobbyists already write most of the bills, then of course there’s ALEC. Anyways, thanks for the humor, as black-humorous as it is.
A RUSSIAN HUMANITARIAN MISSION TO THE DONBAS?
The Kremlin today is issuing reports that the Ukraine and Russia have agreed that a humanitarian relief convoy should be sent from Russia to the Donbas under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (the “ICRC”). There has been a flurry of panicked calls in connection with this from Barroso, Obama and the European leaders “warning” Russia not to use this humanitarian mission as a pretext to intervene militarily in the conflict.
What is going on and why do we have this wholly unlikely development?
First of all it is important to say that this humanitarian mission has not yet happened, the Kremlin has previously touted agreements with the Ukrainians that have proved completely worthless and the very latest report I have seen from Interfax is that Poroshenko is already trying to impose conditions on the relief effort.
Having said this, if a real humanitarian mission does take place the key to understanding why it is taking place given that the junta and the western powers are unenthusiastic about the idea to say the least is because of the intervention of the ICRC.
This is not the place to discuss the ICRC. Briefly, it is a wholly private and wholly Swiss agency that is extremely secretive about its membership and activities. It is also an organisation of immense wealth and of immense power because according to international humanitarian law it is the legal guardian of the four Geneva Conventions that cover war crimes. It is by far the oldest and most powerful humanitarian organisation. The reason it attracts little attention is because unlike such parvenus as Amnesty and HRW it makes a particular point of working secretly. Moreover as a wholly Swiss organisation unlike Amnesty and HRW it takes its neutrality extremely seriously.
It is a little known fact that back in July the ICRC recognised the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as parties to an armed conflict (not “terrorists”) and therefore considers them to be entitled to the protections of the four Geneva Conventions. The junta has of course violated the Geneva Conventions on a simply prodigious scale. As I have argued in the past the one thing the western powers cannot politically afford is to be outvoted by Russia on a Ukrainian related issue in the Security Council. Nor can they afford a statement from the ICRC backed (as it certainly would be) by the Swiss government that the junta is committing war crimes, which Russia could be bring to the attention of the Security Council where Russia has been actively lobbying for a humanitarian relief effort for weeks.
If a humanitarian relief convoy is going to be sent from Russia to the Donbas then it will undoubtedly be because of intense behind the scenes pressure from the ICRC. It is not a done fact and what actual significance such a convoy would have in the overall shape of the Donbas conflict is another matter. However if a humanitarian convoy is sent and if the junta’s troops fire on it then the junta would be in further breach of international law and would have violated the fundamental principle of the sacrosanct nature of any convoy sponsored by the ICRC and wearing the Red Cross. Russia might in that case be in a position to say that it is legally obliged to take action to protect the convoy. That is what explains the latest flurry of calls from Barroso, Obama, Merkel & co warning against Russian military action.
I seem to have given the wrong link for the story about the MH17 investigation being “classified” info.
This is the correct link, followed by automatic translation
http://strategia-22.livejournal.com/39522.html?nojs=1
The results of the investigation the death of a Boeing 777 classified.
Ukraine, the Netherlands, Australia and Belgium on August 8 signed an agreement not to disclose information obtained in the course of the investigation.
As part of the 4-party agreement signed on August 8 between Ukraine, the Netherlands, Belgium and Australia, information
the progress and results of the investigation catastrophe Malaysian “Boeing-777” will not be disclosed.
As the correspondent UNIAN correspondent, August 10 at a briefing in Kiev said Speaker prosecutor Yuri Boychenko. according to him
said that during the investigations are ongoing examination and other investigative actions – the results will be announced on
completion of the investigation, and only if, the consensus agreement of all the parties who signed the corresponding agreement.
14056
These deaths flight MH17 in the Donetsk region. will be published in obtaining the consent of all the parties that are involved in
investigation. Any of the signatory countries have the right to veto the publication of results of the investigation without explanation. In the GPU pointed out that at the moment investigations are ongoing, conducted the examination. Only after the conclusion of this agreement the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the agreement on sending Malaysian personnel to investigate the disaster of the passenger liner “Malaysian Airlines” in the Donetsk region.
International experts admit that to survey the wreck site of the Malaysian Boeing-777 will take a few weeks.
The second phase of the search for the remains of the victims of flight MH17 will be discussed next week.
Thus, we can safely assume – results of the investigation actually classified and final report of the expert or will not be made public never (precedent already exists), or only a few years later, when the political causes of the accident will lose its relevance.
The conclusion is simple – the interim results of the investigation directly prove innocence Russia and / or the DNR to the death of a Malaysian ship and that it does not suit the signatory countries. Of course this does not apply to ordinary citizens or relatives of the victims, and the ruling political elites of these countries.
P.S. The only country which refused (and categorically) to sign the agreement – Malaziyya. But it is in today.

It looks like the Malaysians already know the Ukies shot down their plane. This article from Malaysian newspaper, (in English).

A possible explanation for the rumors about Strelkov.
An unconfirmed article claims that Oleg Lyashko’s brother, Sergei was captured yesterda by the militia in Lugansk. This is based on Lyashko’s Facebook postings. The posting has 1275 likes. I don’t know whether that is good or bad.
Both the parts know that the “donetz battle” will be decisive but “militia” still suffers a large inferiority in men and expecially in hardwere.
But it is evident that russia is not supporting with hardwere ( excepting may be “manpad “) and with this lack of armament and manpower I fear that it will finish as in the “gettisburg battle”. :-(
Ukies claim that ANOTHER Russian convoy, of 142 black trucks, with peacekeeping markings, has entered Ukraine from the south.
@ rumleyfips
I think Russia can most definitely send their trucks in via the rebel held borders of the Donetsk Republic. The main issues is that if Kiev does not agree to this, it can be deemed as a “violation of territorial integrity” i.e. a possible invasion. Thus, Kiev wants it redirected through Kharkov so that it can be “checked”.
One thing I fear is that when “checking” the convoy, the Kiev lunatics may plant a few weapons inside the trucks.
Anyway, Russia is almost guaranteed a PR victory here. Look at these three scenarios:
1) Trucks get turned away with aid inside = Kiev are monsters
2) Trucks get bombarded by Ukrainian troops = Kiev are monsters & possible grounds for intervention
3) Russian aid reaches people of Donbass unharmed = Russians are saviours & attention is drawn to the plight of eastern Ukraine.
Very well planned on Russia’s part. Bravo.
Phew ! Thanks for the final update saker. When I first read in itar tass that he had been seriously wounded I was gutted. God be with Strelkov and the brave fighters of Novorussia in their fight against pure evil.
Nora, the US was declared an oligarchy a number of months ago by Princeton and Northwestern.

@Gayle.
That’s very, VERY, bad!
When I read Paul Craig roberts one-two months ago about ABM first-strike scenario, I thought to myself he was exaggerating.
But with this news…who knows?
They could be planning a *massive* ground assault on Crimea.
(remember, there’s lots of military drills going on for september. ALL with NATO.
http://fr.ria.ru/infographie/20140723/201917095.html )
@rumleyfips: this convoy will be squeaky clean and will, I expect, follow all guidance and input from Ukraine, save for one issue; the issue that will be enforced by Russia is that the trucks go to their destinations with their original crews, possibly accompanied by observers.
The purposes of the Russian Federation will not be served by anything less than complete clarity and compliance with the wishes of the Junta, at least for the time being.
In my opinion this convoy is NOT about humanitarian aid, its successful delivery will be a very much wished for side effect of the deeper purpose.
For example, Kyiv now claims to have assembled a humanitarian aid convoy that is even now trundling toward the region. This means that Kyiv accepts there is a need for such aid and that they were wrong to have not allowed it before. However, there’s more!
Given that the Junta have never acknowledged that the region is independent of Ukraine, ALL the civilians and almost all the rebels are citizens. Now there is a tacit agreement from the Junta that the responsibility for the suffering belongs to the Junta.
The odd thing is that the Junta COULD have spun the story in a diametrically opposite manner. They COULD have taken Russia’s aid and said that it was Russia’s responsibility as they had caused the carnage amongst the citizens of Ukraine. That opportunity was lost at the point at which the Kyiv folks started an aid race.
That noted, there’s other stuff going on here that’ll play out in the coming days.

At the funeral in west Ukraine for a young man who died fighting the militias, the father kept quiet during the burial, then spoke to his surviving son, cursing the Maidan: “All your Great Ukraine has long been built for the oligarchs. So, damn you with your Maidan and your Arochem!”
People in the west know they are being used by, and for the benefit of, the oligarchs.
“They *know* that there is no stopping this story, but they also know that unless and until the true account of what happened to MH17 makes it into the MSM it might as well never have happened.”
I don’t think the ZPC/NWO want the cause of the downing resolved now. They got what they wanted from it already. In fact, the way they do these false flags, it is the initial propaganda that is what they are after. It’s all image and zero substance now. What is revealed after of these “events”, their total control of the msm allows them the ability to ignore or discredit any harmful facts and their captive audiences remain uninformed. Once they figure the propaganda value has fallen enough, they create a new propaganda incident to hype.
The ZPC has psychologically dumbed enough people in the zionised west to know their attention spans and zombification keeps their interest level and attention span low enough they wont go beyond the propaganda, and will retain the psychological “message” as they are given their next propaganda feeding (this melding of psychology, marketing and entertainment is where the zionists are extremely important to the ZPC/NWO, it is the foundation of that freakshow’s ability to control populations).
The propaganda is all pervasive and the time between “events” keeps the zombies constantly distracted with new rubbish. The ZPC no longer cares what happens about the “event” once its propaganda value drops. It is simply replaced with a new event because they know they have such control over enough of the population now, they don’t have to worry about facts any more, at all. All they need to worry about is presenting the right, constantly changing emotional and psychological triggers.

Winter is coming. And when it comes the Ukies will face yet another round of problems this time with winter uniforms, boots, hats ,gloves, sleeping bags and supplies. I hope that resistance can hold the ground that long and is prepared better.
Saker,
It appears the going along with the Ukraine convoy control conditions was meant to prove that Ukraine was not operating in good faith. Putin now plans to call the bluff of OSCE and the international red cross by entering via pro-russian Izvarino border post. If the OSCE and red cross refuse that he can show the world that they are just tools of the empire!

“18-25, A large convoy with humanitarian aid from Russia, who wanted to bring across the border “Pletenik” in the Kharkiv region, suddenly changed direction. This was reported by the journalist MIGnews.com.ua who is on the scene. “The warehouse, where he was held overload humanitarian cargo is minimized”. There is unofficial information from a representative of the MOE, which is privately informed us that humanitarian cargo will be transported via LNR. In the Kharkiv region they cross the border will not, and will go through Izvarino.
The humanitarian convoy changed direction and turned towards Izvarino
Novorus.info, Aug 12 2014 19:54
Russian humanitarian convoy changed his direction and did not cross the border with Ukraine in Pletenivka. It is reported that he turned in the direction Luhansk region and can enter the country through Izvarino. The humanitarian convoy of 280 Trucks, which sent Russia to help the Donbass, will not cross the state border through the customs point Pletenik. The whole group turned on the Russian side and went in the direction Luhansk region. Journalists announced on the old place, reported that the warehouse where it was supposed to unload the cargo, and to operatively fold, and the escort will most likely enter Ukraine through Izvarino. It should be noted that even the Ukrainian media have expressed doubt that, if the cargo is complicated in stock and deposited with the representatives of Kiev, the help may not reach the needy, and to disappear in an unknown direction. Washington Chokes Truth With Lies — Paul Craig Roberts:

“Washington’s propaganda is working. Polls reveal that a majority of Americans, who should be awake by now after being lied to about Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Libya, Syria, and Iran, have again, in their infinite gullibility, fallen victim to the propaganda and regard Russia as a threat.
Among the misinformed and propagandized American population, the question of the day is: “How are we going to stop the Russians?” Thus has the corrupt and deceitful Obama regime again prepared Americans for war.”

It occurs why MH17 has disappeared from view that when either the flight voice recorder or the transcript from Air Traffic Control is released (or alleged proof thereof), then Russia can release their recordings of the same in parallel with other surveillance from their records to substantiate. Sort of a checkmate to disinformation and propaganda which would otherwise flood the information channels. Time will not be kind to those withholding the contents of those black boxes or ATC recordings; unexplained absence of normal procedures will tend to unravel artificial narratives, lies don’t stretch well.
rumleyfips 17:39
The convoy is currently at a Russian military airbase (where else can 300 lorries parked securely?) near Veronezh, about 180 km north east of the Russian/Ukraine border. My guess is it may follow the main route to a major border crossing point north east of Kharkiv.
I was extremely puzzled by US/Ukraine concerns about the convoy being a cover for military aid. That was until I came across a web site that does for images what Yandex does for text. So I fed in an image of the convoy and viewed it through Ukrainian eyes.
Instead of the portable generators, food, water, medicines and sleeping bags I found this and this. Those fiendish evil Russians have outsmarted us. Only the Ukrainians can see the reality.
… For one thing Malaysia is hardly a pro-US country, especially in its public opinion, and, second, the Malaysians will inevitably wonder why their people were chosen as the sacrificial lambs in this US-run false flag operation…

IMPORTANT
Ever since the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, which put Russia’s socialist, expansionist regime at loggerheads with much of the world for most of the 20th century, the West, and especially the United States, has struggled with a confounding question: What to do about Russia? In the 1970s, the Nixon administration found an answer: détente, a policy predicated not on threats, but on dialogue. Russia is too big, too resource-rich, too vital (as an energy supplier to Europe), and too technologically advanced to disregard (or “isolate” as Obama has said he hopes to do). Its nuclear arsenal alone—the only such arsenal capable of destroying the West—imposes an imperative: dialogue, as distasteful as that may be to many. In short, if Russia and the United States are quarreling, global peace is under threat.

Russia Sanctions Blowback: Finland’s Largest Dairy Lays Off 800, Spain Seeks EU Aid, Poland Complains To WTO
Well that didn’t take long. Mere day after Russia announced its ban on Western nation food imports, European countries are scrambling (as we explained why here). Greece has already expressed dismay, but now Spanish officials will meet with EU leaders to discuss offsetting the country’s estimated up to $800 million in food and agriculture losses due to sanctions. Poland is pissed and has complained to the WTO claiming “Russia has broken international law in both its embargo;” and Finland’s largest dairy producer has announced 800 layoffs due to the sanctions. When does Europe tell Washington – enough!
BOT TAK
Absolutely spot on!
First Law of Propaganda: he who says it first is right.
The event was meant to reposition their troops and allow some escape from the Southern Boiler.
It worked and it worked ten-fold to blame Putin and Russia and the Militia.
One of the great travesties of our lifetime.
And it only cost 298 lives. Cheap.
Think of their other gambits around the globe. Thousands, tens of thousands, millions, tens of millions, hundreds of millions killed in the last hundred years of divine rule by the godless gods.
298 is heuristically negligible for Elites’ value system. Kiev has set 8 million as their announced goal (Russians only, thank you, Yulia).
The Masters of our Universe are itching to eradicate billions of humans in their grand plan.
They will blame that on real little green men from outer space, spawned by Putin in his space lab, of course.
As a Swiss, I would add that some people are trying to make sure Switzerland will stay neutral and independent. The majority of people are against EU. We are not part of NATO. But even in Switzerland, the elites and media can be bought. And our media ofte njust use foreign press agency news (AFP for french part). Since we depend a lot on exportation, we cannot go frontally against EU and USA.
Thank you for the good report Mr. Saker.
Imo, any attempts to refuse or block in any way the Russia humanitarian convoy will backfire on Kiev. The Russian aids boost morale in Donbass so, to counter, putting out a false report of Mr. Sreikov being “gravely” wounded is the plan.

BUT
It’s the reality on the ground and the money:
As Russian sanctions bite back, the US/EU/AUSSIE/CAD are finding their sanctions on Russia is a 2-way street.
Unexpectedly, Mr. Putin’s bear showed only some of its teeth, biting deeply, leaving economic wounds – notice now the demonizing and threatening in western media has a different tone.
Take a look behind the curtain:-
1. The Pentagon says – cancellation of the contract would be a catastrophic blow:
Pentagon Refuses to Cancel Deal With Russia, Sparks Controversy in Arms Lobby
http://en.ria.ru/analysis/20140809/191870859/Pentagon-Refuses-to-Cancel-Deal-With-Russia-Sparks-Controversy-in-Arms-Lobby.html
“Pentagon argues that the cancellation of the contract would be a “catastrophic” blow to the ability of Afghan forces to carry out counterterrorist operations.”
“The reason I use the word catastrophic, which I don’t think is hyperbole, is because the inability of the Afghans to have the operational reach represented by the Mi-17 will seriously deteriorate their ability to take the fight to the enemy,” claimed Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford, quoted by the Stars and Stripes, “But the more important reason I use the word catastrophic is their inability to take the fight to the enemy will actually put young Americans in harm’s way in 2015 and beyond.”
2. The Money hurt sinks in:
Danish Bank Says EU May Soon Lift Sanctions on Russia
http://en.ria.ru/world/20140813/191966343/Danish-Bank-Says-EU-May-Soon-Lift-Sanctions-on-Russia.html
“We believe an escalating trade war would be unbearable for both Russia and the EU and that the EU will revoke the sanctions within one to three months,” the bank said in a report released Tuesday, adding that Russia will also lift the trade restrictions it has imposed on Europe.”
——
I guess it is feared any further sanctions (aka Phase 3) and Mr. Putin’s bear will also unfold more teeth, his paws and claws.
Like the man said —
“if anyone thinks his opponent is weak because he keeps quiet, then he becomes overconfident thinking that silence is weakness.”
Today, while there is talk of possible Ukie attack on Crimea. Mr. Putin pays a visit.

Well, the Strait Time reported on 9 August that the Malaysian Defence Minister denied the air-to-air missile story. He claims that he is “confident” that the Malaysian Airline plane was brought down by a BUK surface-to-air missile.

RE: Malaysian English-language newspaper The New Straits Times report: the Malaysian Denfense minister, despite evidence to the contrary, still says plane likely shot down by SAM.
http://www.nst.com.my/node/20925
I posted another article above, that contradicts this as well as articles by:
Robert Parry, Eric Zuesse, Prof. Michel Chossudovsky, Alex Lantier, all point to evidence that it was NOT a SAM of any kind, but rather shot down by an airplane.
Why the Malaysian DM is still clinging to an impossible explanation is a mystery at the moment.
I think of the convoy as a great disruption, a game changer on the eve of a decisive battle. Everybody but Moscow seems to be at a loss how to deal with it or to predict what happens next.
I would expect the top end of NAF knew of the plans and have made some adjustments, but the Uke forces just got a box of ball bearings thrown on their dance floor. A moving ceasefire zone, just what formation warfare can’t deal with.
The strategis-22 article goes beyond Kolomoisky assistant’s facebook hack. I can’t believe this sort of agreement can be signed and upheld. If true, and it holds, there is no bottom to which the West cannot sink. Malaysia is suing, and maybe that’s why.
So, a thought…
Maybe the convoy also has a side purpose. Wouldn’t it cause just a hell of a row if a few convoy trucks parked themselves at the MH17 site and picked up a few choice mementos (say a couple of tons) on behalf of the Malaysians?
Erebus
Johnny James,
He probably doesn’t want to lose a third plane!
I remember with 370 there were lots of different spokespeople saying lots of different things. Malaysia’s been under a LOT of pressure from the Empire and has stood up to it quite well for the most part. But the Empire, erm, plays dirty and he himself may well have been threatened, you know?
Main thing is, it ain’t over till it’s over — and this mess is long from resolved. It is roughly 100% likely TPTB there know exactly what happened, and all the rest is politics and self-preservation, imo.

Wow, if it is true, the switch from Pletenik to Izvarhino is a magnificent chess move. It calls the bluff of the OSCE and ICRC. It also ensures the aid gets through. I can just imagine the fury of Obama, Poroshenko and Cameron.
All urgency surrounding the investigation into the downed Malaysian airliner has been dropped, and Australian PM Abbott says it will be months before the investigation will even resume.

“In a follow-up just a bit ago Jacob commented “Two more Ukrainian combat detachments have been surrounded in the last 3 days or so, since the end of the period represented in that map. Understand that the rebel area functions as an amoeba that is capable of swallowing and liquidating Ukrainian units.”
Misdirection.
All eyes are on the Russian convoy?
Great. That means whatever Russia is doing elsewhere, will [mostly] go unnoticed.
In this multilayer conflict, a 1-dimensional view does not represent a true reflection of the actual situation on the ground.
The Germans bombed the s*** out of Stalingrad, but they never conquered the city. The Kiev fascists want 2 of them? Even if the anti-Kiev militia will never have enough men to reach a a full, standing army, the prospect of a low-level guerrilla warfare [as has been proved beyond any doubt in both Iraq and Afghanistan] means the Kiev Fascists will lose one way or the other.
Regarding the MH-17 shoot down.
My understanding is that the parties involved, Ukraine, Netherlands, Australia, Malaysia can veto any information they don’t like in the investigation report. I have no idea if this is normal in air crash accident investigations, but it smacks of cover-up. If that is the case, then the whole exercise is pointless as the most likely culprit has control of the outcome.

Saker, I am ready to assist Miroslav Olsson with the Swedish version of your vineyard, if you approve of the site. I am an old Swedish language teacher and I have made a living translating texts from English and some other European languages.
A Swedish version can easily be read in Norway, Iceland, Denmark and Finland. Our languages are very close. Icelanders have their own special language, but all of them speak a little Norwegian, Danish or Swedish. Finns speak another language, but they know more Swedish than it is PC to admit these days. A working Scandinavian site can make a difference.
Miroslav, please distinguish between “de” and “dem”. Forget “dom” in written texts. There is a difference.

Maya Angelou said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them”. That being said, it has been with quiet amusement I have watched many here fret about Putin’s action or lack of action. Smile.
He does not make threats or draw lines or bluster at all. He has done what he has said he is going to do throughout the entire crisis.
He has said that he is sending 280’ish trucks of humanitarian aid to Luhansk/Donetsk, that is what is going to happen. Regardless of what Obama or Poroshenko think about it. I think he is playing chicken with them in regards to this convoy. They have been trying to force his hand, now he is going to force theirs. We’ll see if U.S. really wants this war. Time will tell.
