Ukraine should blow up Putin’s Crimea bridge
Russian President Vladimir Putin opened the Kerch Strait Bridge connecting Crimea, Ukraine, with mainland Russia on Tuesday. Putin did so by in a typical show of bravado by leading a column of transport vehicles across the bridge.
Ukraine should now destroy elements of the bridge.
While that course of action would be an escalation against Putin and one that would almost certainly spark Russian retaliation, this bridge is an outrageous affront to Ukraine’s very credibility as a nation. Of course, from Putin’s perspective that’s the whole point. The bridge cost Russia’s near-bankrupt government billions of dollars, but it offers Putin a formal physical and psychological appropriation of Ukrainian territory.
Fortunately Ukraine has the means to launch air strikes against the bridge in a manner that would render it at least temporarily unusable. Because of its significant length, the Ukrainian air force could strike the bridge while mitigating the risk of casualties by those traversing it.
How would Putin respond?
Probably with escalation against Ukrainian interests in eastern Ukraine. But that escalation is very likely coming in the next few months anyway, and Putin wants to slowly absorb Ukraine rather than conquer it outright (he doesn’t want to upset his soccer World Cup bonanza by inviting new diplomatic pressure). But severing the bridge, even if temporarily, would send an unmistakable signal from Kiev to Moscow that Ukrainians are unwilling to accept the comfortable formalization of Putin’s territorial theft. The Ukrainians could also fly low and circular to evade Russian (admittedly high-competency) air defenses. The U.S. could and should support Ukraine here with confidence in our own military power.
Air strikes would also serve two other objectives: drawing attention to the cronyism behind the project (Putin’s favorite pet oligarch, Arkady Rotenberg, was given the construction contract) and challenging Russian nationalist narratives in language those nationalists understand. On that latter point, consider that many of the messages below the RT propaganda celebration of the bridge opening reference Putin’s masculinity and the nationalist supremacy of a greater Russia. Bombing the bridge would thus be a very personal rebuke to Putin’s ambitions and his propaganda narrative.
Regardless, the exigent moral urgency of action is obvious. Any state that allows its territory to be stolen and then bound up with the thief has taken a step towards extinction.

That this piece of racist human excrement has the nerve to even mention morals, is an insult to humanity itself.
Absolutely disgusting what he wrote. But not surprising in the least. There was barely any reaction when US intelligence agents advocated for the murder of Russians who are “almost genetically predisposed to lying.”
That’s what happens when people don’t face consequences, look at the lying scum who used to push for the Iraq war… they’re all still there, now pushing for war with Syria, Iran, Russia etc.
I have a vision of heaven that includes me in a comfortable lounge chair with a drink in hand watching some of these fools arrive and try to convince St. Peter that they really were moral and belong in heaven. Of course, that vision includes St. Peter laughing heartily as he punches a down button and sends fools like this one who want to kill lots of people and blow things up down to where they really belong.
Of course “Who would Jesus Bomb?” was always a favortie bumber sticker for me. :)
The bumper sticker I liked is “Jesus is coming, and He’s got a gun!”
The Thanatopian thugs are simply growing more rabid as their dirty dystopia crumbles into a sewer of the greatest debt in history, elite greed unparalleled in history, record inequality, low pay, tens of millions on Food Stamps, mass incarceration unprecedented in history, regular gun massacres, vulgar and debased ‘kultur’, and rampant militarism also absolutely unmatched, ever, the rotten mess’s last trump card. This is simply a Thanatopian regime propaganda psychopath, one of the lowest forms of life ever to scuttle across the planet’s surface.
Exactly 170 years ago, the USA stole California (and several other whole states, plus parts of others) from Mexico. Having started the war against Mexico on wholly dishonest pretexts (including – you guessed it – several false flags), the US government stole more than half of Mexico’s territory and absorbed it into the USA.
How would Americans react if a leader in some Russian newspaper were to advocate that Mexico bomb the Golden Gate Bridge?
Since the lapse of time does nothing to mitigate such a colossal crime as the annexation of more than half of Mexico, there would be far more justification for such an act than for a Ukrainian attack on the Kerch Straits Bridge. (As Crime has always been part of Russia since it was conquered in 1783.
Tom,
Exactly. Crimea was officially part of Russia for several centuries before it was “gifted” to Ukraine (and at the time part of the same soviet republic). California, Texas, etc. NEVER previously belonged to the United States (or for that matter, the indigenous people whose stolen lands comprised the existing United States)
During the nineties, the Anglo-Papal-Zionist empire’s theft and destruction of Serbia, there was even greater bias and ignorance here in the States. The propaganda machine spewed their lies without any resistance and completey rewrote history.
To counter their false narratives and present a correlation to a hypothetical U.S. scenario, I used the artificial scenario of Irish descendants violently annexing Boston and claiming it no longer belongs to the United States because of ethnic majority. For my fellow Americans to understand just how egregious the present theft of historic Serbian lands was, they had to understand that Kosovo, Bosnia (Bosnia was a Serbian principality prior to Ottoman conquest), Dalmatia and Krajina never belonged to these newly recognized “countries” or their “peoples”. And it was the last hundred years of genocide, ethnic cleansing and forced immigration that created these new ethnic majorities. When a certain ethnic group becomes a majority in a certain geographic location, it shouldn’t give them the right to steal land that NEVER belonged to them.
Prior to the referendum, Crimea was historically part of Russia. Before it’s annexation, California, etc., was never historically part of the U.S. Too bad the evil empire cares nothing for history or morality. I won’t shed a tear when Mexico retakes California.
Any such action by Ukraine would be met with 200,000 Russian troops moving over the border, and a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The Regime would be destroyed.
The US would be an irrelevance. They know what would happen if they tried to step in on Russian’s border.
Any military attack against the bridge would be a provocation that not even Medvedev & the “Atlantic Integrationists” can ignore. In such a scenario, all treaties between Russian Federation & Ukraine would become null and void, and Putin would be fully justified in bringing all territories east of Dniper back as a province of the Soviet Union!
Not sure if troll (Soviet Union? Really?) but while the Dnipr is the historical dividing line, things have changed. Now you’re looking at (from West to East, roughly) Odessa, Mikolaiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, and Kharkov Oblasts, and of course Donetsk and Lugansk forming a Malorossiyan autonomous republic (probably) of the RF. It’s inevitable, just a matter of how many years or decades it takes.
Funny, when I read of the quote below from the garbage article I thought of Serbia & Kosovo:
“Regardless, the exigent moral urgency of action is obvious. Any state that allows its territory to be stolen and then bound up with the thief has taken a step towards extinction.”
Haha… thats nothing you should read his other piece. The one which says “Dont worry the US will win the nuclear war against Russia.” Someone clearly needs to submit this guy to the nearest mental asylum. But on the other hand doing so all the fun would be gone. So may be leave him be, he will provide much needed comic relief that way.
“Regardless, the exigent moral urgency of action is obvious. Any state that allows its territory to be stolen and then bound up with the thief has taken a step towards extinction.”
Tell that to Hawaii, which was once an independent kingdom before America regime changed it in the 19th century and subsequently staged a sham referendum to rationalize its absorption into the American Empire.
Or tell that to Mexico which lost half its territory due to the US-Mexican War. Indeed, all the land from Texas to California should be described as American-occupied Mexico.
Then, there is the inconvenient reality that Native Indians were on this land long before the Euro-American colonizers “discovered” and stole it.
Hell, America ain’t nothing more than a nation of land thieves who disguise themselves as crusaders for freedom and democracy. From sea to shining sea.
And, tell that to the Filipinos.
Tell that to the Cubans.
Tell that to Puerto Rico.
And, tell that to the Iraqis, the Syrians, the Guatamalans, the Hondurans . . .
Scenes of de facto occupation and annexation.

If the US/NATO installed and controlled government in Kiev were to bomb Russian territory, how long would it take for such terrorist action to escalate into WW3, perhaps nuclear war? If Russia thought war was inevitable, it would strike first and hard — that’s the policy, and the US/NATO would know this, and might well decide that it had to strike Russia too. When the floor is flooded with gasoline it doesn’t matter who drops the first match or where.
This especially so when Russia has less defensive capability than first preemptive strike, and second swift retaliation, capability. Could it afford to wait to see if it is attacked in force by the empire? Rogan’s article is suicidal, but it reflects various factions in the US and empire and is not such an outlier.
One of the prime characteristics of Thanatopian ruling elite psychopaths is their Death worship. They love to kill, and kill and kill some more. It gives them some sort of perverted belief in their immunity to Death, by taking its power into their twisted psyches. They are the most Evil and most dangerous criminal thugs ever to arise on the planet. As their filthy dystopia rapidly crumbles, I really cannot see how humanity will avoid a cataclysm, even extinction, as these monsters lash around in their rabid death-throes.
Russia Launches Case Against Journalist Who Suggested Blowing Up Crimean Bridge
https://sputniknews.com/russia/201805171064544912-russia-case-journalist-bridge/
“The Russian Investigative Committee (RIC) has opened a criminal case against Tom Rogan, a journalist from the United States, who “recommended” Ukraine blow up the Crimean Bridge, Svetlana Petrenko, the official representative of the Russian RIC, said.
“A criminal case has been opened against US citizen Tom Rogan who published an article titled “Ukraine should blow up Putin’s Crimea bridge” calling for the destruction of the Crimean Bridge by bombing it,” she said.
In addition, a pre-investigation check is being conducted against the editor of the weekly Internet magazine Washington Examiner after the publication of the article by Tom Rogan, Petrenko said.”
Good. I am glad to hear it. But in what jurisdiction?

It’s the way he writes. The style of it. How he says it. It’s VERY * particular* once you’ve study it for a few years.

“How I stopped worried and learned to love the bomb”
Almost verbatim headline
Look farther. From the end of the arm to the head of the octopus – Deep State;
Tom Rogan, The Washington Examiner, Philip Anschutz and others alike ….
From Wikipedia; The Washington Examiner
The Examiner endorsed John McCain in the 2008 presidential election and Adrian Fenty in the Democratic primary for mayor in 2010. On December 14, 2011, it endorsed Mitt Romney for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, publishing an editorial saying he was the only Republican who could beat Barack Obama in the general election. ….
When they have almost all, they want the rest.
Tom Rogan should be given the clown of the year award. This is another example of what happens when journalists start impersonating military experts. Ukraine does not have a chance in hell of destroying that bridge, the longest in Europe. The S-300 and S-400 can destroy anything that flies at medium and high altitude, the BUK destroys anything that flies at medium altitude and the Pantsir destroys anything that flies at low altitude. The Khirbiny electronic system jams cruise missiles. It can also jam the electronics of ships and planes. The crew of the USS Donald Cook can explain what happened to the ship while it was in the Black Sea back in 2014. Yes, Ukraine and NATO might try some underwater sabotage, but I think that the Command Center at the bridge has everything under nice supervision.
To state that Russia is nearly bankrupt is a severe example of wishful thinking. Most Russians don’t even notice the sanctions, as Russia has established new trade relations. The Russian Central Bank has 1.801 tonnes of gold, while Putin, according to one analyst, has more than 30.000 tonnes of gold in the Kremlin, which he personally supervises. Yes, Putin is waiting for the right time to introduce a gold backed ruble, joined by the Chinese, who will introduce a gold backed yuan. Merkel is yet again going to Sochi to meet Putin, and it’s only a matter of time before Germany joins the Eurasian Economic Union. By the way, President Assad of Syria is also in Sochi, and I am not sure if Washington expected this.
Finally, Ukraine annexed Crimea in 1954. Putin had it reunited in 2014. There is no way that Putin can “annex” or “invade” his own land. On the other hand, Tom Rogan can ask the Mexican Government who stole a heap of its land.
Bomb Putin’s bridge, US commentator bizarrely advises Ukraine
https://www.rt.com/news/426936-ukraine-bomb-putin-bridge/?amp;utm_mediuamp;utm_campaign=RSS/
What is known about the neo-con writer of the article? A couple of facts and a few maybe’s. He is British born and educated.Who moved to the US and got US citizenship. It seems almost all the British writers in the US are neo-con Russophobes.Maybe its something in the water. His name very likely is Jewish.I haven’t seen any report on that. But several people with that name are.And so its a strong possibility. That would help explain his Russophobia even more. And lastly he’s written about “gay” issues,so he may also be homosexual. And since so many gay writers are also Russophobes, that would explain that as well.
The Washington Examiner is not a particularly widely read nor widely respected publication.
IIRC, it tends to be the sort of right-wing outlet that occaisionally gets pieces picked up by others and distributed more widely. So, I’ve heard of them. But, don’t know of many who considered them influential. Were they perhaps the ones pushing the conspiracy theory that a pizza place in NYC was the center of a pedophile ring and thus led to a madman with a gun and a hostage crises there?
Perhaps that’s the more interesting metric concerning this piece. Is it picked up and distributed more widely? If not, just file it under the rantings of a jealous maniac who wishes he could be a real man driving a big truck.
” Were they perhaps the ones pushing the conspiracy theory that a pizza place in NYC was the center of a pedophile ring and thus led to a madman with a gun and a hostage crises there?”
That was comet ping pong pizza in washington dc and it was a blogger who ran with that nonsense.
Regarding rogan himself, he is full of govno, but he gets around a lot. A partial list of where:
“The Week, The Spectator, The Weekly Standard, Reuters, The American Spectator, The Daily Caller, Fox News, The Washington Times, USA Today, CNN, The Christian Science Monitor, The Atlantic, The Commentator, The Telegraph, The Guardian and The Huffington Post. He is a columnist for the National Review and Opportunity Lives.”
Since he is only in his early 30s, and lacks any genuine capability at analysis, this propagandist is obviously a mouth piece for much more powerful critters. Think of his bomb the bridge piece as them floating the idea.
Thanks for your insights. Ha, ha! Speaking of real men driving big rigs, this Tom Ro-gone character will learn it takes more to deliver the goods than cowboy boots and hot air! He’s got a “Wide Load” alright, and he’s taking the downgrade way too fast on burning brakes. Oops. Maybe the piss in his chewbacca is that the Kerch Straits Bridge is an impressive structure built and engineered by The Russians, and it serves a very useful commercial purpose, but the only thing he can propose for it is that it be wrecked. Huh?? Now I Wonder who taught him that kind of crazy stuff. Good Lord, give the poor wretch one of those mini sledge hammers and some vodka (vodka first would be better) and tell him to go find it and wreck it himself.

It is incredible that this fellow Rogan is inciting a terrorist strike against the bridge.
In any case, I expect that that bridge is protected with the very best technology Russia can muster.
Any attempts at sabotage would, I imagine, result in an overkill backlash that would knock the Ukies into to outer space.
Can’t believe this rubbish can be published in any kind of “respectable” rag.

Time frame for bombing the Kerch Bridge:
11 AMish, Tuesday. Poroshenko gives the OK in between bouts of uncontrollable flatulence, brought on by one too many helpings of good Lemberg breakfast salo, and the one semi flight capable wheezing old Orcland AF Mig advances to the runway near Kherson Aerodrome, a bomb under each wing with the date ‘Made in SSSR March, 1952’ clearly visible.
15:27 After extensive efforts to locate enough kerosene for the fuel tanks ending in a 200 l drum of same being confiscated from an 89 year old lady, veteran of The War, who beat the mortal crap out of the first five echelons of Adar Warriors only to stop the fight with the sixth echelon when it was her afternoon nap time, the Mig staggers down the runway and mere millimeters from the end manages to get high enough to just nip the tops of the cattails in the local 220 hectare sewage swamp.
Clawing for altitude and eventually reaching the near stratosphere at 62 meters of height, the pilot, one Pavlo (he can never remember his last name and his mother has no idea what his patronymic should be…they called her ‘slippers’ because everyone tried her on), glances at the compass and realizes he is flying due west. Since the Kerch Bridge is in theory relatively due east, he manages, after a series of gentle right turns (the ancient beast will not turn left), to fly in the general direction of the Sea of Azov. Rumor has it that his target is there.
17:59 Reaching the Sea of Azov, our intrepid and gallant warrior looks to his left, then to his right and, after mentally flipping a coin chooses to turn right (this choice possibly influenced by his inability to turn left) and begins a visual search for his target.
17:59:03 Local Russian Air Defense units, comprising 7 S 300 batteries, 11 S 400 batteries and a regiment of Pantsir systems, acquire a somewhat meandering target flying in an unauthorized zone in the general direction of the Kerch Bridge, height adjudged to be roughly 3.5 meters above the surface of the Azov and at the hypersonic speed of 87 kph.
17:59:11. Before the Russian Air Defense units could fire, a 7 year old Russian boy out fishing with his father in a 3 m aluminium punt espies the wandering Mig,whips out his sling shot and lofts one walnut at the Mig. He scores a direct hit on the Mig, and since the cockpit canopy hasn’t closed in years the direct hit was actually on Pavlo’s right temple. This sudden blow disoriented Pavlo who suddenly shoved the stick as far forward as it could go, which was not far after it got jammed on the 20 year old remains of a large dead rat.
Russian Air Defense Radar watched in amazement as they tracked the walnut from launch to impact and the subsequent impact of the Mig with the surface of the Sea of Azov roughly 400 meters from the Kerch Bridge.
On impact, the automatic pilot ejection system worked, after a fashion, and Pavlo was launched from the Mig, in theory straight up to allow the air frame to clear Pavlo’s descent path. Unfortunately for Pavlo, with his extremely high speed of 87 kph his forward trajectory did not stop as he reached the somewhat higher than designed max height of 314 meters.
Arching gently downward, Pavlov cleared the two center bridge structures, much to his relief, but he did notice that his downward rush seemed to be increasing in speed, not decreasing. Glancing up, he saw what should have been his parachute streaming wildly in tatters, about like a lady of questionable virtue’s bloomers in a hurricane. Resigning himself to his fate of dying for the motherland, Pavlo impacted the water 50 meters south of the railroad bridge superstructure and, as luck would have it, right beside a construction barge servicing divers hunting unexploded ordinance from the Great Patriotic War. The divers wasted no time in pulling Pavlo from the deep mud he impacted feet first 10 meters below the water surface and managed to drag him, spluttering and screaming, from the warm mud and waters of the Azov.
Results of the Attack on the Kerch Bridge:
1. The 7 year old boy’s father was given a fine of 15 rubles for fishing with no license.
2. The 7 year old boy will be taken to Kremlin in June, where he will be awarded Hero of Russia for his gallant defense of the Kerch Bridge.
3. Pavlo no patronymic no family name was tossed in a rowboat with the intention of being dumped out on the beaches south of Mariupol with the firm admonition to not try that stunt again. After launching himself off the vessel three times, being fished out of the water with a boat hook and begging not to be sent back to Orcland, the Kommandeer of the rowboat called his Sarjant, who called his Starshi Sarjant, who called his Lutanant, who called his Starshi Lutanant, who called his Kapitan, who called his Maiyor, who called his Pol Polkovnik. Pol Polkovnik made the command decision to bring Pavlo back to Russian territory and from there Pavlo will be sent to work as a farm hand on Pol Polkovnik’s father’s idyllic little farm 400 kilometers north of Olmsk.
4. Orcland demanded an urgent UNSC meeting to address the blatant aggression of Russia against Orcland. After being shown a video of Pavlov’s aircraft impacting the Sea of Azov in a wild spray of mud and water and Pavlov himself arching up and over the Kerch Bridge, UNSC dissolved in laughter and voted the video best comedy of the year.
5. Some obscure pantie waisted gomik putting in time at an equally obscure ‘news agency’ in CehSha condemned the violent shoot down of a peaceful Orc AF plane which was delivering humanitarian aid to the starving citizens of Burundi.

Arrests, Threats and Murder: Risks of Being Journalist in Ukraine
https://sputniknews.com/europe/201805181064588132-dangers-of-journalism-ukraine/
“On May 15, the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) broke into the office of RIA Novosti Ukraine and detained its head, Kirill Vyshinsky, accusing him of treason. The SBU believes that he has been supporting the self-proclaimed People’s Republics in Ukraine’s southeast. Sputnik recalls other recent cases of journalists being prosecuted in Ukraine.”
‘Bomb Putin bridge’ journo thinks he’s trolling Moscow with jail comments… but there’s a catch
https://www.rt.com/news/427128-crimea-bridge-bomb-trolling-contest/
“A US political commentator, who gained notoriety in Russia this week by suggesting Ukraine should bomb the freshly-opened Crimean bridge, has felt the wrath of Russia’s most devastating weapon: the phone prank.
…Now he is “that crazy guy who told the Ukrainians to bomb the Crimean bridge.”
The suggestion – which is far from outlandish for a US conservative commentator in the era of Russiagate – was published on Tuesday after the opening of the bridge connecting mainland Russia with the Crimean peninsula, which was part of Ukraine from 1954-2014. It made quite a splash in the Russian media and even prompted Russian prosecutors to open an investigation into public calls for a terrorist attack on Russia.
Rogan was apparently quite happy with his newfound fame in Russia, because he wrote a follow-up, bragging that President Vladimir Putin wants to send him to ‘Black Dolphin’ – one of Russia’s most secure prisons where actual terrorists serve their life sentences. He also cited hate mail he had received on Twitter, accused Russia of being a terrorist state and declared his love for the Russian people – all the usual tropes for a professional Russia-basher.
The story, however, took a bizarre twist on Thursday, when Rogan said on Twitter that Ukraine’s foreign minister had contacted him to express the support of his people and offer protection from Russian law enforcement.
The minister, Pavlo Klimkin, then responded by saying he never spoke to Rogan, adding that his article “isn’t worth commenting” on and that the entire story may be “another Russia-led provocation.”
Once it was obvious that he had been played, Rogan reacted in a way so unexpected one could almost generate it word-for-word from any ‘Russia-did-it’ story: he said Vovan and Lexus were “by the standards of reality” Russian intelligence officers. “I think the key takeaway here is to be wary of the Russian intelligence machine. It’s both hyper-aggressive and, on occasion, highly creative,” he wrote. It seems it takes an “intelligence officer” to con an American journalist by stroking his ego.”
The boi has gotta be brain damaged…maybe fell off his trike as a teenager.
Your parachute and rifle are ready, Mr. Rogan!
The little degenerate is not American. An irrelevant little twerp from the UK with a string of pointless qualifications.
I wonder if Rogan has heard of boomerangs?
I wonder if he will jump at shadows and keep checking over his shoulder … for men in black.
I wonder … is he now a candidate to be Novichoked in a ‘false flag’ … to blame … you know who.
He may have unleashed more than he bargained by his own foolish words.

Previously I had created a petition to extradite the supposed computer hacker “The Jester”, who defaced a web site belonging to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. That got me a lot of love from the neocon troll/bot armies who even went so far as to create a counter petition to get ME extradited (or something like that). The whole experience seemed reminiscent of an encounter with the man possessed by Legion… not so much with the possessed man but with Legion.
Another petition I created was to fire Nikki Haley. This was immediately after her introductory speech to the UN where she figuratively waved a bludgeoning device, threatening at everyone. That petition received nine endorsements.
This latest petition, like the others, will, undoubtedly, be buried by the controllers of western social media… unless you do something about it.

Right after reading this article I looked for information on Tom Rogan. According to wikipedia he holds some degree in war studies whatsoever*. Maybe he should consider writing first hand experiences from the trenches of front lines (the place of the theater doesn’t matter). After a few days, weeks or months of gathering experiences he might be less inclined to advocate for violence.
*I’m amazed and confused how easy it is to obtain some degree in the UK.
What a drivel.
Nevermind the idiocy of the writer to openly advocate war of aggression (which is in violation of Nuremberg Charter), or the abysmal failure of US authorities to prosecute the guy, but saying that Russian government is bankrupt is just dumb. 3 out of 3. Bravo, Murica.
You just continue manufacturing everything in China while at the same time imposing import tarrifs on Chinese goods. Good job. In the meantime, Russia is set to be world’s largest wheat exporter this year and remain that into the forseeable future.

Then i looked at the referenda in 1991 wich were held i believe twice at the Crimean penensual. As i understand the Crimean people and all other Sovjet regions choose to stay together in the Union by overwelmingly majority. The Seperatist movements like in Ukraine had no legal fundament.
Their also was in 1991 i belief an referendum wich let the people of Crimea choose to become a Autonomous Republic of Crimea? T
This was honored by the then ruling sovjet government of Ukraine.

In 1994 or 1995 under Ukrainian pressure or force the Crimeans had to close their parlement and their president had to flee to Moscow. TIll so far i have read about this i don’t know teh exact version, but what happened in the 90ties that Crimea not couldget back their independentie?
Can anybody inform me over how this all has played out??
Thank you
Chris
