Syrian WMD now. Nevermind that the only case of use of chemical weapons “against his own people” was by Saddam under the high patronage of, what else, the USA. Nevermind that it is also nonsense. Nevermind that it would make no sense.
The US “patriotic crowd” seems to be buying this one too…

can you provide the link below to your blog post on russia and syria from a few months ago — the one in which you describe russia’s strategy and the reasons for which it won’t come to syria’s rescue.
@Anonymous: you probably are referring to one of these posts:

Saker,
Good morning, this is on the news
Medvedev said :
“They are fools for coming eight in the morning, “said the premier after a TV interview aired by several Russian and when he thought that no longer were recording
Want to make sure that the media is not distorting what he really said. I don’t speak russian.
@Anonymous:“They are fools for coming eight in the morning
I am not sure about this, but Medvedev did give a long interview to 5 Russian TV reporters (including 2 from the opposition) and at the end, there was about 5 mins of not-on-the-air-but-still-recording time when all of them were jocking. My guess is that this is when he said that as a joke. I don’t see what the big deal is, honest to God!
Am I missing something?!
Medvedev said “kozly” (goats), like “of course they are goats to come so early”. I have to say, that “kozel” is a very offensive word among criminals in Russia. Hence police which generally has to speak the same language to be effective is understandably not happy with it. Detectives also were doing everything in accordance to the law (i.e. they have right to come at that time).
Medvedev once more has showed his infantile nature, not caring about consequences and making a triple mistake. Firstly, nothing was wrong with detectives, secondly why try speaking differently to the same people even if you think show is over and thirdly, coin the words carefully, you are public person.
And of course, there are people, who are happy to play this card.
@Anonymous:”kozly” ouch! That is, indeed, a very bad word to use. “Козел” is a he-goat, and definitely a very rude thing to say to anybody, very contemptuous.
I looked up the story, and yes, its bad. He was referring to the investigators who came to search the house of a reporter at 8AM which, if you ask me, is absolutely normal. Did they had to wait for him to leave for work or what?! Or should they have showed up at 3AM?
Was Medvedev trying to strike back at the investigators who, among other things, are looking to corruption scandal around Serdykov?
Whatever may be the case, Medvedev screwed up. No doubt about it…
It will be interesting to see what Putin has to say about all this.
