If you don’t want or can’t see what’s going on, you won’t even see it.

This article covers three aspects related to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, namely an overview of how a noxious brand of Ukrainian fascism has shaped an all-pervading attitude at top levels. Some instances of malfeasance shown at the top levels of the Ukrainian government are also highlighted. The article also outlines how this unsettling mindset has seeped into military tactics on the ground. Lastly, this article contains part 2 of an inglorious roll call of commonplace hatred in Ukraine to show the extent of unadulterated hatred.
A distinct Ukrainian brand of fascism became the dominant political force by embedding itself into all aspects of Ukrainian society as well as political structures. Specific aspects of this were dealt with in a previous article (Just a handful…).
To say that there are hundreds of hotspots of Bandera glorifiers scattered throughout Ukraine may be an understatement. The worship, the reverence of Stepan Bandera, Roman Shukhevych are disconcerting but well-known. It is surreal and riddled with mind-boggling contradictions, (see image below). Coming from an alleged 1000+ year old country, basing its most revered national heroes on WWII era Nazi collaborators is simply phantasmagorical on all levels. In fact, the whole essence of Ukrainian nationalism is underpinned by:
- promoting the hatred of Russian speakers;
- portraying Russia as a hostile state against the Ukrainian people;
- glorification of the Ukrainian military and volunteer units, in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in Donbass;
- glorification of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA and OUN) that carried out widespread acts of horrific ethnic cleansing of Jews and Poles during WWII, (that fought the Soviets, sometimes collaborating with the Germans).
- allowing the praise and positive image of Ukrainian manned SS units and WWII death squads as national heroes.
In short, being “pro-Ukrainian” hinges on a blend of:
- modern-day vile hatred for Russians, Roma, Jews and others,
- readily accepting the notion of ethnic cleansing to protect the state,
- promotion of fascist ideologies.
How can this even be remotely ‘healthy’ or an acceptable part of a democratic society?
Post-Maidan Ukraine reflects a series of incongruous juxtapositions, many of which are disturbing and would be shocking for ordinary Europeans if they were fully aware and not perpetually mislead by complicit MSM outlets. Take one example where the state symbols of Ukraine are interwoven with openly UPA — OUN elements: the utterance of “Glory to Ukraine”. Then there is a tweet (now deleted) by the Ukrainian parliament:
”Outstanding figures in the history of Ukraine”
The Ukrainian government went as far as introducing legislation that gave a privileged status of WW2 “protagonists” and UPA veterans were regularly commemorated, where Kiev legalised the SS Galicia symbols, not considered as Nazi, and SS members were feted in the Western parts of Ukraine. In contrast, the term “Great Patriotic War” was officially abolished.
Very few Ukrainians have relatives that fought with the UPA or belonged to the OUN, including ironically Zelensky’s grandfather. The public remembrance ceremonies of those who fought against WWII Nazism were subverted and strongly discouraged, whereas those who fought against the Soviets were openly revered without any hindrance on the part of authorities or law enforcement.
Two excerpts of the normalcy of fascism:
When 15,000 people in 2014 (just one of many marches in support of UPA-OUN leaders since 2014) shout “Heil Bandera”, adorned with various neo-Nazi insignia and flags, especially during marches on Bandera’s birthday.
Often accompanied by shouts of “Hang the Moskals (on the lamppost/ tree/ branch)!” or “Muscovites to the knife” (stab the Moskals, “Москалей на ножи!”) or “Suitcase, station, Russia” (“чемодан вокзал Россия”), along with singing the praises for Bandera, “Bandera our father“.
Repeat this month in, month out, for nearly a decade. Replicate this ideological stance in the military, school classes and in parliament.
Ukraine has a long-standing fixation with Bandera, take for example postage issued in 2009 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Stephen Bandera. Plus, another postage stamp dedicated to Roman Shukhevych the year before. Did Norway ever issue a stamp to commemorate Quisling in the last 20 years? Or maybe France, a modern-era stamp to honour Petain or Laval? Simply unthinkable but this is precisely what Ukraine did.
Another simple example: when Kiev city authorities renamed two major thoroughfares in 2016, as part of the decommunization process, one is Bandera Avenue and the other one, (you guessed it) was renamed in honour of Shukhevych. Previously, it had been named after a Soviet general, Vatutin, who was killed during WWII by the UPA.
The concept of a warped Ukrainian national identity has deep UPA-OUN roots,
Post-2014 governments gradually sought to change and ban the language and cultural identity of Hungarian, Greek, Rusyn and Russian minorities in Ukraine. The result is a rebranding of an ideology and leaders into something considered to be an intangible definition of being the “right kind” of Ukrainian.
The nefarious rabbit hole goes much deeper
Joining the dots: starting with this extract of interviews by President Zelensky’s advisor, Aleksey Arestovich, offers a exclusive first-person glimpse into the overriding mindset at work, to be found at the highest level of Ukrainian officialdom. Straight off, the 2nd segment is part of an interview on Ukrainian TV. These statements are filled with absolute malfeasance and contempt for democracy and note the praise for ISIS leadership and their inhumane treatment
“Cruelty for show. It is inhuman but it is of a very high level, a wise strategy.”
So that was one example, here is another glimpse to get a fuller understanding. Once more, a banal insight, of someone in a government that was supposed to implement the Minsk agreements, to stop the conflict in Donbass. The discourse presented shows a blunt refusal to even consider implementing the Minsk agreements, “a middle-finger to the right and left and at the same time — also to Russia and the West”.
These videos speak volumes about the level of radicalisation that exists in Ukraine. Western officials have not spoken out about this mindset or the level of pure hatred that is considered as normalcy.
Another aspect to this prevailing malfeasance is when President Zelensky announced that prisoners with combat experience and ex-ATO participants were to be released from custody in the country. While orders were given for weapons to be handed to all and sundry, causing a spate of shootings, killings, robberies, and criminal gang shootouts. The surreal response justifying the release of criminals by a Ukrainian official is remarkable and once more offers a unique insight into the mindset.
One example of a freed criminal: Daniil Dashuk of Belarus (former member of the notorious Special Police ‘Tornado’ Battalion). The only ‘volunteer’ unit that ended up being disbanded, with several members prosecuted and jailed for inhumane treatment while serving in the ATO, known for raping minors in front of parents and committing senseless killings. One of the commanders was Ruslan Onishchenko, a bone fide Ukrainian Nazi. Now let loose to fight, kill and torture again by Zelensky.
The conflict
Enter once more, Aleksey Arestovich, the one who praised ISIS cruelty, who also argued that “international humanitarian laws or the laws of war don’t apply in this conflict“.
Ukrainian military strategy is heavily focused on using cities and civilian infrastructure as cover for military action. An example of this is the shopping centre in Kiev that was used for artillery and MRLS units. There is overwhelming evidence for them using civilian residences as firing positions, placing artillery, (video of civilians protesting), placing APC near civilian areas. Furthermore, Azov in Mariupol has deliberately used many multi-storey housing with civilians as hostages. This ugly aspect was picked up by The Washington Post.
Extract from Washington Post March 2022
The Washington Post article adds:
Increasingly, Ukrainians are confronting an uncomfortable truth:The military’s understandable impulse to defend against Russian attacks could be [is]putting civilians in the crosshairs.Virtually every neighborhood in most cities has become militarized, […]
Azov tactics
No one of the people interviewed coming out from Mariupol said that the Ukrainian military and Azov never provided any help, no water, no food and not even any help with injured, ill civilians or kids. Instead, there is the opposite, as noted by an Al Jazeera reporter:
The question regarding why is the Ukrainian military using civilians as cover is answered to some extent by the callous attitudes espoused by Aleksey Arestovich in the videos.
Summary
Large chunks of modern-day Ukrainian identity have piggybacked on WWII fascism. The downplaying & standing by the actions of Ukrainian nationalists by Western media & “experts “is despicable. This now translated into total contempt for civilians, now seen as expendable in the pursuit of Ukrainian national interests.
PART 2 — The roll call of pure hatred
(Part 1 is the 1st article on blog)
Each day more banal vile hatred comes to the surface in Ukraine. The thin veneer of hatred is becoming less hidden each day. Of course, there are many who simply want to gloss over the jarring and remarkably clear examples of everyday fascist attitudes coupled with a virulent hatred for Russia and Russian speakers in Ukraine.
Ex-Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine (2016-2019), Volodymyr Omelyan said on Ukrainian Lviv NTA TV channel:
“I hope that the discussion about good Russians and bad Russians will be completed with a short conclusion: a good Russian or just a Muscovite, (Moskal) is a dead Muscovite.” […] “But bad Russians are like that from birth, and you shouldn’t talk about them at all.”
He has enlisted in the Territorial Defense in Kiev at the beginning of the Russian military intervention. Previously he stated the following:
“Democracies will always win. Maybe it will take longer than everybody expects. But Putin has chosen the path of Hitler. And we already know how Hitler ends.”
Now the list so far:
- International funded Ukrainian medical agency head recommendation to castrate Russian prisoners.
- Mayor of Konotop, Artem Semenikhin, stating that Russians are cockroaches in a PBS interview;
- Government-funded bodies saying Russians are impure half-castes on Twitter;
- Ukrainian ambassador to Germany praising Azov and other neo-Nazis;
- Calls for the assassination of Russian pilots’ families (Part 1);
- Medical head instructing the castration of Russian prisoners, (Part 1)
- Ukraine soldiers shooting captured Russian soldiers in the legs and knees;
- Ukrainian TV host uses Adolf Eichmann quote to advocate genocide of Russians (Part 1);
- Numerous videos, photos of a staggering amount of nazi insignia, flags, portraits, busts, literature and WWII Nazi memorabilia left behind in various military units;
Two days, two takes on inhumane treatment of prisoners.
What many people do not understand-why both “jewish” current comedian/clown president Zelenskyy and previous Pornoschenko tolerate this crap…not only this… seen to me Israelis presidents they are silent too…if this happen in USA it will not last 1 day…
Article misses the most important – Britain and the USA taking Bandera and Lebed into MI6 and CIA.
Partnering With Neo-Nazis in Ukraine: An Inconvenient History
https://original.antiwar.com/Ted_Snider/2022/03/30/partnering-with-neo-nazis-in-ukraine-an-inconvenient-history/
Didn’t include it as it is an historical side note to all what is going on today’s situation in Ukraine. Thank you nevertheless for adding this link.
There is a lot more to delve into the 1940 and 1950s aspect, 99% of which is well covered in articles and declassified archives States side.
So these factions are of the Ukrainian army, but not under control of the Ukrainian Army? If Zelinsky suddenly came home to Jesus and had, before they invasion, ordered them off the Donbass, for example, do they obey central command? Further, if they purged these factions, it seems like the Ukies would lose half their standing Army. And figure, even those who of the military who are not of these factions would be terrified of them, regardless.
I think the answer to this is clear, as reportedly early in his administration Zelensky asked the Nazis in Donbass to stand down but they refused. It wasn’t long after that period when he starting handing out medals to Azov folks. It’s pretty clear where the power lies.
I would add that it is clear to me that the US and its advisors control the Azov more so than the ZE administration. I still believe this is who is ‘guiding’ them now. This retreat and hold on strategy and these attempts to rescue ‘certain people’ in Mariupol from Azov command structures with helecopter sorties is pretty sure to be advisers in the field, private contractors or otherwise. Ultimately they are following their own fate anyway now. I hope Russia destroys them all in Mariupol and the Donbass, no mass surrenders, nope, it’s a chance to end this part of it forever. Here and now. It is sad for normal Ukraines that they suffer not for their country but for the Americans (and British) however they are culpable in some ways for tolerating this nazi garbage for so so long and allowing it to take shape in its own society, there must be some level of collective responsibility for this outcome.
From Intel Slava quoting Russian Foreign Intelligence Service
🇷🇺🇺🇦⚡️Ukraine has informed Britain that it does not intend to comply with the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Russian Prisoners of War – Russian Foreign Intelligence Service
🇷🇺❗️The West is not only aware of Kiev’s gross violations of international humanitarian law, but is also trying to help it avoid responsibility – Russian Foreign Intelligence Service
It would be much appreciated if anyone from within Russia that can access the formal statements, kindly copy them into an email and send to me. My email address is at the bottom of every page of the blog.
note Russia say OSCE is no further use…leave completely….failed in so many areas
I think these Ukrainian personalities – post USSR – were heavily influenced by the Hollywood character, Rambo, hence finding expressions of hatred as simply a distraction aimed at a heavily bored public longing for another exotic form of entertainment. Also, they would have received bigger paychecks from Uncle Shmuel, if they acted more hatefully towards the Russians.
Enough with the “ Uncle Shmuel “ garbage. It is extremely offensive and counterproductive to the issue at hand. Not only that, it is a grave insult to the many Jews who served with honor in the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War.
Thank you.
Not only is it offensive (and counter factual in this case, given Israel’s lack of enthusiasm for punishing Russia), but it’s tactically stupid, giving ammunition to those who want to use claims anti-Semitism to discredit the overall argument about what’s happening in Ukraine.
You’re obviously unaware that Israel is supplying the Nazi’s in UA with Tavors and other weapons!
You are obviously unaware that there is a big difference between “israeli” and “jewish”
—————-
No bickering now children!
from Mommy.
Amazing. Since 2014 those Ukronazis have been receiving lots of weapons – money from NATO, then is it possible it was done without the knowledge of CIA? And is it possible money /weapons were sent that the AIPAC and Israeli lobby in US knew nothing about it? They knew all along it was happening because that was their arrangement from start i.e. create trouble for Russia at its western borders cause Russia didn’t want to play their dollar game. By the way no big money/weapons could ever be transferred anywhere in the world via the West devoid of the Israeli green light. They have total control over such transactions, let alone Ukraine. When one says Israel it implies AIPAC/dollar lobby which exert power over all the aspects of affairs in the US. It doesn’t mean people of Jewish faith going to synagogue for prayer.
I read Zelensky’s grandfather was a soldier in the Soviet Army.Now you say he was OUN UPA. Which is true? I support Russia and hate Zelensky but want the truth ,so I am not aught with my pants down debating with pro-Ukro nazi neighbours.
Stuart Estrine,
…May be it’s better to hold your classifications/ categorization standards for your own usage, if you don’t mind. Like the BBC, that says the US and the Israeli officials have different agendas regarding JCPOA, the event in Ukraine … etc. which is complete nonsense. Essentially, the two have been in complete coordination with each other from the early 20th century onwards. They always choreograph everything among themselves in advance. Here in Iran we pay zero attention regarding such gimmicks played by the Western Media. Also when we say Uncle Shmuel it means the Uncle Sam at its advanced stage that exists today. It means the AIPAC/globalist/dollar lobby influence over the US domestic and foreign affairs, it doesn’t mean that we are referring to the people of any religious faith – in this case the Jewish people – or we’re questioning history of the Americas, when it was discovered by Columbus. In fact, we believe many Jews in Israel and elsewhere just like everybody else in this world, have been taken as captives by the globalists, reminiscent of during the Corona pandemic where they were forced to take several injections of those mysterious Pfizer/Astra Zeneca so called vaccines. Again Uncle Shmuel is the advanced form of our good old Uncle Sam.
“No one of the people interviewed coming out from Mariupol said that the Ukrainian military and Azov never provided any help, no water, no food and not even any help with injured, ill civilians or kids. ”
Need to edit; “never” should be “ever”
Those Ukrainians are radicals in more ways than one. In Odessa, THE commander of the defense was caught in an orgy with a transvestite.
In the underground brothel of the Odessa region of Arcadia, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrey Kislovsky, a deputy of the Odessa City Council from the Trust in Affairs party, one of the leaders of the local territorial defense, was spotted. He was arrested.
I am not including link because there is some nudity. I hope you take my word for it.
How on Earth has the Ukraina a 1000-year history?
Hate toward Russians and Poles is it’s founding myth. Vicious, sadistic murderers are thier national heroes from the very beginning, not just since Bandera. Read about haidamaks, Maksym Żeleźniak, etc. Even their saint Olga of Kiev was a serial killer.
If you take out Germany and Italy out of the mix,Poland,Romania,and Hungary, were the most Fascist countries in pre-war Europe. If it wasn’t for Poland’s location which doomed them to be a nazi enemy. They would most certainly have been an ally of that regime.It looks like all those years under the communists wasn’t enough to take out the engrained Fascism from that society,and its being to bloom again.
“(…) ethnic cleaning of Jews and Poles during WWII”
In Poland, admirers of Joseph Pilsudski are no better than the ukro fascists who admire Symon Petliura. Alas, the current polish government is nostagic of this sad time when Pilsudski and Petliura dreamed of intermaium.
Fortunately, the Polish people are very divided on this subject.
All of this demonstrates a completely unreasonable attitude by those in UKN who support this agenda and justifies all world countries from supporting the UKN Govt.
It also is completely contrary to the UN policies which those funding UKN say they are 100% behind – aka Soros Biden US etc…
Breach of UN policies may grounds for legal action on various forums for damages and orders.
If initiated by Russia and the International courts in The Hague etc refuse to enforce filings then it will show their true colors. Similar resolutions by Russia in the UN against UKN and US EU will make it difficult for them particularly with non aligned countries. Withdrawal from the UN even if temporary may be something Putin should consider.
Clearly there need to be re-education of people in UKN and detention of those at the top in UKN who peddle these offensive ideas.
The paragraph following the picture of burned-out building (Azov tactic) maybe needs some editing.
(No one said that Azov never helped…)
In Slavic, and many other language families, repeating the negative is proper, expected grammer.
In English we call it “double negative”. School children are ? were taught to avoid it, because it is ambigous. Formally, a double negative is a positive; often, in practice, an emphatic positive.
I have noticed, in the last decade or two, that apparent native English ? American writers increasingly use double negatives, blissfully unaware that they are ambiguous. And sometimes well aware.
Often, alert readers can interpret the text correctly, by comparing the dubious meaning to other statements by the same writer, or to normal accepted facts.
I have also noticed, recently, that trolls are learning to stealth-insert ambiguous text, to muddy the discursive waters.
“a good Muscovite (Moskal) is a dead Muscovite” — Ukrainian racist slogan.
“a good Indian is a dead Indian” — U$ racist slogan.
Birds of a feather flock together.
More confirmation of what we’ve suspected all along.Talking about Zelensky adviser Aleksey Arestovich,a pro-Russian Ukrainian Telegram channel says:
“Ukraine, Arestovich prepares Ukrainian public opinion for the signing of peace agreements, tells how it will be possible to bypass them.”
So they have no intention of abiding by any agreements they sign with “the Muscovites”. They with only use any agreements to get Russian troops out. And then continue their anti-Russian activities. This time counting on the Russian public being so mad about the agreements that they will not support another SMO.And that NATO will supply them with enough aid to be able to fight again if needed.
Uncle Bob,
I Have a different take on the statements made by Arestovich. The fact that they made the “bypass them” part public doesn’t suggest that they are actually planning on doing just that. It suggests that they know that they are at Russia’s mercy, and have no choice but to agree to, and fully implement the terms, but they must do so in a way that doesn’t get them murdered by the fascists, and also eases the population, especially their base of support in the east, into accepting the deal.
You are describing what the British and American magicians and operatives have accomplished. They are very good at manipulating minds. They can make Russians hate being Russians, just as they can make a lot of White Americans hate Whites or White history. But this is the weeds.
What did Moscow do to counteract these efforts? Even in Russia proper, the thinking seems to be that having mainstream TV on board with the agenda is sufficient. This is poor planning, as young people or those who do not watch TV are numerous.
And this leads to serious mistakes, as we can see in not having plans for a civil administration inside the Ukraine ready. The old farts that folks in the Kremlin may know are likely out of touch with today’s Ukraine. The Nazification is pervasive. And this was the problem with waiting so long to deal with the problem. It is not a problem in Lvov; it is a problem everywhere, and all institutions. Hoping to get rid of a few bad apples and convince some politicians and oligarchs to switch sides is avoiding the harsh reality on the ground in 2022. Besides, switching sides is likely a death sentence. You couldn’t count on that even if they weren’t setting you up during negotiations, which is possibly what happened the first few days of the special operation.
This guy Arestovic is definitely a homosexual. Ditto for almost all ukronzis and Nazis in general. The fact that they seek company if men exclusively is an indicator. There are photos where they bathe together. This is what happens when perversion is allowed to rule.
Why do you say Arestovich is homosexual ?
I will stick to the earlier definition of homosexuality which calls it a hormonal disorder which was prevalent until the 1980s. Nazism is also a perversion of social type. Arestovic in my opinion is a homosexual because no straight person would dress the way he does or have body language that he has. In Areatovic you have an amalgamation of the two perversions. Also, you obviously haven’t seen Zelensky in rubber and high heels. And Aresrovic IS his aide/adviser. Also, it is a well known fact that being a homosexual these days in the Eastern Europe gets you high profile jobs. I.e the Prime Minister of Serbia is a lesbian, the job she landed straight out of the US Aid. Her first job in her life was that of Serbia’s Prime Minister.
Nazism and homosexuality usually go hand in hand. I’m not saying that all homosexuals are Nazis but many Nazis have been homosexual. Also, it is said that Hitler founded his Nazi party in a Munich gay bar. Allegedly.
Does that mean we could support them if they were straight?
Fascism (and, paradoxically, neoliberalism, which paves the way for it) is the enemy, not the personal sexual behavior of consenting adults.
Nah!
They have very primitive social skills.
No woman who thinks she can escape will have any thing to do with them.
Two articles relating the first-hand, personal experiences of two Donbass defense volunteers with Ukraine’s neo-Nazi scum:

Missing the forest for the trees comes to mind. The past was influenced by the war but during the intervening years between then and very recently had there been pogroms or mass murders or discriminatory laws passed?
What point can we consider that the Jews want to colonize the area as a second Israel. At what point can we consider that the tactics used in Israel and the region against the Arab population are almost exactly the same as today against the Slavic Russian population? Is this a forbidden topic?
Excellent article. Russia faces with todays Ukraine a true existential threat. I know this is a term used too often in some cases. But this isn’t one of them. The entire identity of the current Ukraine is based on their hatred of Russia and lust for revenge against Russia.There is literally nothing in their national ideology without that.
Not all Ukrainians by any means have succumbed to that poison. Remember that over 40% agreed with Putin that Russians and Ukrainians were one people in a recent poll. And that was people that freely admitted it. Who knows the true numbers that were too afraid to voice their real feelings. So it isn’t the majority of the Ukrainian people (especially in the South and East of the current Ukraine),but an influential minority that has taken the poison.Today,not only are the nazis trying to destroy the Russian language in Ukraine,but there is a new law being drafted to outlaw the UOC (Moscow Patriarchate) the faith of millions in Ukraine.
The Russophobic,pro-nazi minority in control of Ukraine are such a danger to Russia,that only one group can survive in the end. If for whatever reason Russia doesn’t realize this is a fight to the death for them. And agrees to allow that ideology to still hold power in Ukraine they will have made a fatal mistake.Imagine Stalin making a peace agreement with Hitler in 1944 allowing Hitler’s nazi regime to remain in power and you can see the comparison.
There is zero chance that any agreement made with the regime portrayed in the article above will be honored. They will take the first,and every opportunity they get to cheat on and overturn any signed agreement with Russia. It would be bad enough having to deal with a nazi Ukraine alone. But now we see clearly that NATO is willing to support them in their Russophobia. And under the cover of an “agreement” they may be willing to even help them much more.
There is absolutely no threat more important to Russia than having a nazi controlled Ukraine bent on their destruction on their doorstep. Gaining a mythical agreement on Crimea and the Donbass is not even close to enough to protect Russia from disaster. Only a full denazifcation ,plus the replacement of the anti-Russian power structure in the current Ukraine will secure Russia’s security. I pray God that Russia’s government understands that before its too late.Understands that this SMO may be the only chance they have to make that happen,and avoid having to fight a full scale world war in the near future.
Just kill all of the nazis is a good start in Ukraine, the vast mass of public will cheer for that, as we are beginning to see. As for the ‘cockroaches’ that are also in the administrative functions of Ukraine these can be named and shamed by locals and hounded out of office (or strung up in the local square if required) Only Ukraine can truly mend Ukraine and if – as over the last 70 years – they just ‘tolerate’ it then it will again at some point rear its ugly head and oppress its own people.
Ukraine is very much like Russias retarded little brother, it needs a good slap around the head every now and then to be reminded who they are and most definitely who they are not. Ukrainian history is a really sad affair wherin they have only produced or achieved anything when they have been ruled by others, (been someones bitch – Poland, the Bolsheviks, Russia, the Nazis and finally now as the US’s pet Russophobes) left to their own devices we see what has happened over the last 30 years, chaos, corruption, stupidity and nazism as some kind of mask for the extreme inadequacies which this odd country is full of. Anyway I’ve always seen this Azov and other extremism as some sort of globo homo club for the queers who can’t admit it and it is now obvious beyond a doubt that they cannot fight wthout massive amounts of drugs and steroids and whatever else they stick in their bodies. This whole episode is just a reminder as in Germany during the 30s, that if you put up with these freaks that you once laughed at and poked fun at, when they get a sniff of power their extreme inadequacies will destroy you and your country.
There is a rather famous quote that I am half remembering of late, and perhaps someone here can help me with it. I think it goes something like ….
“It is hard for a man to see that the system is evil, when the man’s livelihood depends on the same system.”
I vaguely associate it with the once well known American novelist, Sinclair Lewis. Or perhaps I am mis-connecting this, because of another famous quote which I do know belongs to him …. Back in the 1930’s, as Hitler was rising in Germany, he wrote “When Fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.” Somewhere, there is a ghost saying today “I told you so.”
Anyways, the blurb on the frontpage for this piece reminded me of the first quote that I keep trying to remember. It is such a nice way of saying what I know, but for which I lack the poet’s touch to say so concisely. I know that it is not easy to see the true nature of the system while the same system is providing your bread and butter and the roof over your head. While you are within the system, its not always as simple as “want” and “can’t” to see. Of course, once you break free and see the system from without, then you can clearly see its nature and understand it fully.
It is possible for people to realize that the system that they live within and which thus provides for their needs, is actually evil and an abomination that should be done away with. Since I’m the After-Woodstock Generation, I know for a fact that that the better part of an entire generation can accomplish this together. But, nonetheless, it is still a very difficult thing to do. To reject the system upon which a person depends requires both an act of courage, as well as a willingness to reject everything that the same system has taught you since birth. Because everything the system teaches is produced by the nature of the system and will obscure the nature of the system.
Neil Young once wrote about the process, “Once your gone, you can’t go back, when you are out of the blue, and into the black.” Its not a thing where you can just put a toe in the water. You can of course test the waters to begin with, but after that you either jump in and swim freely, or you stay on dry land where you know you have been safe for all of your life. But like trying to get away from any domineering relationship that demands control of your life, sooner or later you just have to make a clean break, jump into the black, and hope that the fates will be kind to you for trying to do the right thing.
I’m sure you meant
“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”
Upton Sinclair
And even when they proudly tell it right to you face: “We lied, we cheated, we stole” (Pompeo), or
“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false” (Casey), it is difficult to accept the truth: that this is how your government works, even if you don’t risk your salary understanding it.
“If Fascism ever comes to America, it will come wrapped in an American flag”
~ Huey Long
As a Swede I remember Ivan Mazepa from my History lessons, he fought with the Swedes when the Russians crushed us at Poltava, Russia hammered the big spike into the Swedish Imperium, after Poltava all was lost.
With regard to France and General Petain (IIRC, leader of Vichy, pro-Nazi French government.)….
“CHARLEVILLE-MEZIERES, France (Reuters) – President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday it was “legitimate” to pay tribute to Marshal Philippe Petain, who led the French army to victory in World War One’s Battle of Verdun but decades later collaborated with Nazi Germany during World War Two.
Macron’s plan to honor Petain alongside seven other French marshals who directed military campaigns during World War One, which ended 100 years ago on Nov. 11, has unleashed criticism from Jewish groups, political opponents and on social media.
“I consider it entirely legitimate that we pay homage to the marshals who led our army to victory,” Macron said in the eastern town of Charleville-Mezieres that once lay on the front line between French and German troops.
“Marshal Petain was a great soldier in World War One.””
‘Macron stirs anger with WW1 tribute to Nazi collaborator Petain’
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-ww1-century-france-petain-idUSKCN1NC1OC
Macron was forced to backtrack due to the outcry it unleashed, but, yes, the elites of France do honor Nazi collaborator General Petain. And I guess there are no longer enough survivors of the massive slaughterhouse known as Verdun to object to the general in charge being called ‘great’. I guess it is easy to be great from an HQ miles away from the front. I don’t recall Petain being known as one of the sort of Generals who suddenly showing up next to a soldier on the front lines.
As the author, as a French person, I am aware of Macron’s shenanigans. But thankfully, the French government hasn’t produced stamps honouring WW2 war crimes.
As far I know none of the WW1 generals strayed from their HQs and there are still some that wear rose tinted glasses regarding Petain in WW1.
If this stuff paints a true picture of the people running Ukraine then Russia must make sure to preferably capture them and put them away for life or eliminate them because I do not see how such people are anything but an enemy of God and of all mankind.
Doctors castrating prisoners … these people will cause harm to their surroundings if you allow them to freely move around in any society. I can have sympathy for a doctor doing that under severe threat for his life or that of his family members but never for people giving these orders.
What total rot. The good news here, in addition to Russia’s stiffening resolve and Putin’s soaring popularity at home, is that Ukraine really is 404. It has no future whatsoever. Its population is dying off or migrating. Ukraine is undergoing societal collapse with all the squalor and regression that was seen in Yeltsin’s Russia of 30 years earlier, only with the added ‘sweetener’ of Bandernazi fanaticism.
And, yes, the collapse of 404 will be a very painful experience fraught with dangers and violence but not so much to the detriment of Russia. Keep an eye on the EU in general and Poland in particular. For all their extreme Russophobic mental illness, I believe the Ukronazis will be quite satisfied with instigating race wars and founding mafia clans in the EU. Russia is only pestering them while they remain stuck in 404 where there is no other ‘meaningful’ occupation supported by the imbeciles in charge there.
What a sick group. What an Empire Of Lies the West truly is. I am so thankful not only that I can think for myself, but that I know it’s my responsibility to do so and that I do not abdicate it no matter where it takes me. If I were to read this article to people they would look at me with a vacuous stare and tell me it’s not true because Zelensky is Jewish. I have some items from WW2. One is a nazi flag. I have felt like displaying it and telling anyone who complains about it that it isn’t a nazi flag because I am Jewish and to see if it shuts them up. I really believe the idiots would apologize to me. I just won’t do it because don’t have the desire to interact with these morons.
“Democracies will always win”.
Yes; that’s why the USSR defeated Nazi Germany. Imagine how surprised Joseph Stalin would have been to know that he was the eclected leader of a democracy.
If you like history, it must also explain why Sparta – a totalitarian military dictatorship that made even Nazi Germany look relaxed – crushed Athens, the ancient world’s first democracy.
