If the Russians ultimately decide that crossing the Ukie border in force is their better choice, I hope they make their kinetic activities worthwhile by taking the entire coastline Black Sea coast. Historically, Odessa is far from being a “Ukrainian” city.
According to British intelligence, Russia borders Ukraine by North, East and South. And they might invade Ukraine either by North, East or South.
I have been really puzzled over the Ukraine hysteria in the Western media. It does seem that part of it is to stage an event which can be “blamed” on Russia and used as a pretext to cancel Nord Stream 2.
But I think that there is another part to it.
I think that the US is so afraid of the “military and technical” response that Putin has promised that they are trying to keep the hysteria ramped up to put Russia off balance. It is meant as a distraction until the West figures out what is going to happen so they can cook up a plan to try to ward it off.
Based on Bidens and Blinkens recent speech, and the tactic of drawing out negotiations i totally agree with your theory. It would now be the ideal moment for Russia to use their military-technical capabilities in various theaters, at different times,.and do some really painful things… to put the US off balance…

I doubt the British government really wanted to remind us of George Bush’s lies or of the Ukrainian history of collaboration with the Nazis.
No wonder that the UK is no longer a serious power, and its military is trash. If they have such poor planners and strategists.
