November 3, 2015 – News Alert: Syrian Army and Hezbollah Enter Rebel Stronghold in Southern Aleppo [source]
It has been a long and arduous journey for the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and Hezbollah in southern Aleppo, but it appears their persistency and patience has officially paid off, as they captured the eastern entrance of Al-Hadher after intense firefights with the Islamist rebels from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham, and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
Moments ago, field sources from the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo reported to Al-Masdar News that the eastern entrance to the rebel stronghold of Al-Hadher was under the control of the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and Hezbollah – they further added that fierce clashes are taking place between the two opposing parties inside this strategic town.

The last map is the map of the Russia’s military supply routes
In general, high-intensity combat operations to continues in Syria, with gradually increase of the role of foreign armed forces deployed to support the various participants in the war.
After a month of stubborn ferocious fighting, the Syrian Army is still on the offensive, which, despite of slowing down in some areas, still has a good chance of achieving significant success. In this regard, the Syrian army continues to to be underestimated – after 4 years of war their attacks are absolute heroism. On the other hand, we underestimate the terrorists that proved to be enemy in active clashes with the Syria’s regular army, and is much more superior in organization and quality over the pro-Western rebel forces, which have become the main victims over the past month after suffering some significant defeats from Assad and ISIS.
However, the pattern of the war will be changing, the Russian and American coalitions now increasingly being sucked into this war, intensity and complexity of the fighting will only increase.
In general, Russia’s military prospects in Syria seem to be moderately optimistic, with the hardest still to come.

The sitrep title clearly says 2nd Nov. Though the start says 3rd which is probably a typo.Mod TR.
What’s with the 3rd Nov reporting? Are you guys in Australia?
And now for the latest western nonsense on Syria.
Putin driven by economic fears, says former Russia financier
I am still trying to fathom the logic on this line:
“Russia’s military action in Syria is a ploy to ease western sanctions that punish Moscow for its incursions into Ukraine, says an authority on Russia’s economic system, and former major investor”
“Russian airstrikes have been cited as a cause of a new refugee flight…..”, yes, ISIS et al ‘refugees’ perhaps?

Here’s another gem:
“Russia’s military escalation in Syria confirms and extends the strategic significance for Moscow of owning virtually the entire Black Sea and using it as a base to project power, maintain strategic influence, and enforce gunboat diplomacy throughout the Balkans and the Levant through a combination of arms and amphibious operations abroad.”

SanctuaryOne, I’m sure there are genuinely a bunch of new refugees. When the fighting and bombing get hotter, more people run (and get killed). People who were keeping their heads down under ISIS or whoever will have found that the latest is just too much.
But in the longer term, if you don’t win the war and end it the bleeding never stops. There’s a civil war going on. Would they be blaming Lincoln because people fled the Union advance?
also winter is coming on, no trees for fires, no oil if ISIS oil is stopped……
a UK Defence Committee is actually advising PM Cameron to keep out of Syria until the international situation becomes much clearer, that sending in Uk planes will not make much difference, and the legal position is not clear at all, so well done that Committee………..what would be nice is UK agree to work with Russia through UN over Syria….impossible dreams.
Thanks Scott. That footage of terrorists with pick-up trucks panicking set off my own panic button as if I were them. Gave me a very tiny feel and glimpse into the “war is Hell” scenario. A dose of reality for one who has not actually been in a real war.
Imagine the panic if war comes to us in the US. Now that I think of it, it is already happening in black communities here according to reports like yours.
In my 75 years I’ve been blessed. I’ve had hard times but nothing like war. The closest I got was as a priest when the bodies came back from Nam for funerals and church services, and as a psychiatric nurse in the VA with vets.

Turns out the BUK analysis was from Almaz-Antey, but the analysis and on occasion Tatzhit Mihailovich were attacked because it originally appeared in the “wrong” media.
Easy to see why neo-cons are in power everywhere in the west. Any opposition is too busy attacking each other and arguing.
