The nazis use the cease fire to practice fighting. And they are joined by sickos from abroad.
According to Lugansk and Donetsk sources fighting is going on along all front lines, the most ferocious attacks at the moment are in areas of Gorlovka and Enakievo, the fight at Shirokino is described as “artillery duels”.

I think it’s a mistake to tolerate this. Who are trying to impress by keeping to this Minsk2 so-called cease fire and not defending the people by taking out the aggressors?
Republican Russophob from Ohio Senator Rob Portman makes a Freudian slip while attacking Russian Minsk policy.
“The failed cease-fire demonstrates the effectiveness of Russia’s strategy and exposes the weaknesses in the Western approach. Both Minsk I and II contained no shortage of processes and procedures to promote a peaceful resolution. What they didn’t contain was any credible way to enforce the terms of the agreement.”

I understand enforcement was problematic. What I don’t understand is why it’s going just one way, and what the problem would be if Donbas responded to the attacks on people by taking out the attackers. That’s not escalation, not Russia entering the fray, not disregarding Minsk unilaterally, but just local self defense. How could this restraint and letting themselves shelled and shot benefit either Russia or Novorossia? I don’t get it.
They (NAF) do respond rather successfully but don’t brag about it so not to give political ammunition to the enemy.
For example here is a report about casualties for last 2 days:
“Losses of the parties in TWO days: UAF – 28 people wounded, up to 12 killed, 4 BTR 1 damaged armored vehicles and tanks, 3 APCS, infantry fighting vehicles, howitzer D-30 and 1 120 mm mortar destroyed;
NAF 26 people wounded, 3 killed, 2 APCS and 1 tank damaged, charger and 2 dugout( with Cliffs and AGS) is destroyed.”

Good to know.
Looks like things are heating up now, going by Fort Rus
1. Thank you for the subtitled video. We can judge the intensity of the action we have been reading about near Mariupol and see that the morale of the militia is very good.
2. Minsk 2 is a device for the legal finale that will come. Transnistria will play a role (ATO-2) the ukies terminology for a full second front.
3. If you read the Cyber Berkut hack of George Soros his document twice indicated to Porky not to violate Minsk 2 while doing what everyone believes is prohibited my Minsk 2.
To sum up, very briefly: Minsk 2 is vital to Russian international strategy to ultimately destroy the junta and devastate NATO.
All military signs in the “ceasefire” look strange, but notice the Col Cassad article by Major General Sergei Kanchukova of the GRU, regarding Transnistria and the “possible” Russian countermoves, timing and legal basis.
Here’s the original. Use Yandex for translation.
http://rushor.su/прогнозы-генерала-гру-канчукова-при/
It obviously the article is very serious, considering his status as GRU (read Spetsnaz) who has been behind many MOD Shoigu moves to give direct Presidential control over GRU units for special operations. (Recall Crimea).
Red Ryder had a glimpse of this laid out in very broad strokes yesterday. This publication in Cassad and over at Niqnaq makes it clear that the Russians have plans if a blockade of Special Operation by Ukies, Moldova or American PMCs attack the Transnistria government and Russian peacekeepers.
I am rooting for it. The war will come to a glorious ending, and we can all thank God for the massive stupidity of Porky, the junta, the CIA, the State Department, Obama, NATO and the EU.
Thanks, Saker and the translator for the sub-titles on this video.
Larch,
If only I was as optimistic as you. I can see many ‘easy’ tactical victories for Russia in this latest version of ‘the Great Game’ , I can also see more entanglements than can be handled with a premature military approach. After all, the West would not be pressing so hard if there were other options. The Western banking system is close to some kind of ‘reset”
The last time someone tried to take on this: Anglo/US/Zio/Bolshivik/Banker/Satanist empire still doesn’t fare well in the history books.
I dont think Putin will allow himself be pulled into a contest that he cant win in the longest of terms.
The end game is economic: the West will do everything possible to destroy the creation of an alternative to the petro-dollar. It’s a matter of forming alliances strong enough to withstand the assault.
What we are seeing now are the first real skirmishes
If the end game is economic the the west is destined for lots more Minsky moments with it’s fixation on Neoclassical and Chicago schools. Russia can avoid much of that with good monetary, and especially fiscal policy, which it shows signs of — not to mention the new trade arrangements. Yes the transition will be rough since Russia allowed itself to become embedded in petrodollar and all, but it’s buoyancy is much better than the west’s. Their currency is not only reflexively sovereign, but in conjunction with China (and BRICS), the new financial structures, it’s also in good shape for the foreign trade sector. China, of course, is an excellent long term strategist. The US is now challenged trying to think a month or two ahead or on a world system level (and it sure shows!).
My concern with Russia is more on the operational level — as with the dealing with the shelling of Donbas and the Minsk …. I’ll call it a fiasco at this point, from all sides — a delaying action at best.
I base the optimism at on what seems to be Russian preparedness to clear out the ATO threats. There have been three major Intel persons talking in the last two weeks for the Russian security organizations. Very top men. It adds up to the Russian form of warning.
Remember this: NATO cannot fight in Ukraine. Not that they are incapable or its illegal. They cannot because they cannot get control of the air. Russia would be blown away already if there was no missile defense and air defense so sophisticated that it is virtually impenetrable. Russia is the best defended nation on Earth.
So, the lesser fools, Ukies, Moldova, Romania, etc have no way to get help if they step into Ukraine or Transnistria or Kaliningrad.
And from the reports of the Russians, military plans and special forces are in place for instant reaction. 1-3 days and it will be all over when Russia moves. Better than Georgia in 2008.
Understanding the Russian doctrine of action. They will take the capital of any attacker. They will destroy the threat. They will kill their enemies. And they will protect their forces with tactical nukes.
These are clearly stated over and over. Readiness? They have had continuous training, snap drills and maneuvers, hidden mass movement of whole divisions of troops and material from one sector of Russia to another for more than a year.
Now pencil in the fools who dare to test the doctrine. And the pinheads who pay them to cross the threshold.
The big Russian strategy is to break the hegemonic control of the US, and to damage the illusion of the mighty NATO. That is best done by the absolute destruction of nazified Kiev and the purging of the former nation of Ukraine of its military capability.
Once Ukraine crosses the threshold they will lose their military, their government and their sovereignty just as they have lost their border with Donbass-Russia, and Crimea.
There is no down side to any of this. The aftermath will be the greatest group therapy treatment program for 35 million Ukies. Facing economic depression, 150 Billion in debt, no food, no jobs, the masses may rediscover their senses and gradually rebuild their devastated former nation.
Larch,
I fully agree that Russia will make short work of any military threat. It’s what follows that gives me concern. On the positive side – I dont see NATO being able to mount a sustainable offensive as was done during WWv2 by the “Allies”. The US is far too overextended and there’s not sufficient will in Europe to commit suicide again.
Who knows? Perhaps it’s time to write off Europe as a loss and wait for sober minds to eventually rise to power.
SWOT: do you have any knowledge of developments of tactical nukes? I’m sure that much has changed since the days of the ‘Davey Crocket’ device.
Larch, I wish I was as optimistic as you. I know what you are saying, Russia is using the rule of international law to intervene and restore peace in the Ukraine and surrounding areas. Then we can all rejoice with the notion that people in Novorossiya can rebuild and find peace and happiness once again.
That’s precisely why I’m inclined to think that the hegemon have yet another false flag scenario planned for Transdniestria and yet another plan for Saadashvili to cause mayhem. To avoid engaging the Russian military but to continue to the chaos and destruction and merciless killings.
Saker,
Or any one can you comment on the article in the Times; which states that the morale of the Rebels is low because of no supplies from Russia.
It is behind a firewall so can’t post link.
But this is the claim the paper in the UK makes.
please put the link anyway (some people have access) and the headline
It is a fiction article written by Oliver Carrol who pretends that he was taking interview from a Novorossiyan fighter in “Shirokine”.
http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/world/europe/article4457554.ece
Oliver Carrol is a Kiev whore. Dangerous to let him near the militia. He and many others are bringing Intel back to the enemy. Propagandist at best.
Totally agree. This is the first paragraph (then you have to subscribe)
The bunker is dark, damp and cramped. At its entrance stands a former football player from Donetsk who goes by the name of Ostrich and is shouting frenzied instructions into a radio as mortar rounds from the Ukrainian side pound the rebel position. One lands very close.
It is possible the author speaks Russian, if his bio on his Twitter is true (ex RT among other things)., Has a few Shirokino items on the twitter
https://twitter.com/olliecarroll
His top item on twitter says “Avdeevka coke plant. Shelled by rebels 76 times over May 21-23. One worker lost his life. :” so that tells you where he stands.
I am frustrated for the DPR militia and civilians under fire along the line of contact. My reaction to this video was to think of counter-battery fire with 81-82mm mortars. The effective range of these mortars is about 5 kilometers. Of course this won’t reach heavy caliber weapons from far away; but those weapons need eyes to find targets for them.
I wonder why the DPR military forces are not deploying light mortars in counter-battery operations. These small caliber mortars were not excluded from the line of contact by Minsk II. Well-trained crews and FDCs could move units into positions and prepare for fire in less than 5 minutes, get off a volley of up to 20 rounds in 10 minutes and pick up and disperse in another 5 minutes.
Snipers do not operate alone. There are usually supporting patrols nearby, as well as spotters for the Ukrainian artillery, and listening/observation posts.
“Back in the day”, daytime patrols were sent out to install and check on sensors. Vehicles or troops passing nearby would be sensed by these sensors and mortars would go into action. This is old technology. So, I wonder why this has not been used to discourage and interdict UAF/Azov penetrations by the DPR.
Something like that?
“The battle at the village of the Lugansk (LPR) began after midnight, the Ukrainian troops opened fire from mortars and heavy artillery. After that, for unknown reasons on positions of the UAF happened detonation of munitions.”
http://vk.com/strelkov_info?w=wall-57424472_61532
or that?
“There were explosions of UAF ammunition depots and equipment at several positions near Mironovskiy and Lugansk due to systematic gross violations of safety in the performance of duty by Ukrainian military on June 2 . Many wounded.”
http://vk.com/strelkov_info?w=wall-57424472_61501
I saw a video of some place where NAF was investigating an ammo dump they had found. They were running around like kids at Christmas. Look at this, hey what’s that over there….
A lot of stacked boxes of ammunition had little flat packs of plastic explosives between them. Just under the corners of ones near the top. They were pulling them out and collecting them into a box. It looked like it had been booby trapped, so they themselves could blow it if they had to retreat, to stop the other side getting it. If they do this routinely, it would only take one bad shot to blow the lot while they are still there.
Of course a saboteur could set up a dump like this and nobody would notice, then it only takes one deliberate shot at it to blow it. Ukie command will always blame bad handling, which there have been numerous genuine cases of too (like using an open flame to check contents of a fuel tanker).
how sad. Those disgusting Ukies and Nazis need to get into another cauldron.
Out of subject. I ve tried a couple of days ago to contribute to Sakers via PayPal, I had enormous problems and at the end had to give up. Is there anybody else in the forum having problems with PayPal? Will try again today see how it works.
were you trying from the Donate link on the site? that usually works okay. What problem did you have and at what stage? you can give full details, we won’t publish it, just answer you if we can
To Moderator. Yes I tried from the Donate link. It was refused because according to them post code number was wrong I tried with different combinations, none of them worked out. I will try again today, so lets see.
It doesn’t ask for a post code for the person you donate to. Do you mean PASS code? that is same as password. Try changing your password (to something easier to remember).
I will try to do so. I wonder if this have to do with the fact that I do not live in the States (but in Europe). Regards.
My donation went through today! finally. cheers Saker!
Has anybody noticed how quiet the western MSM is regarding the presence of Islamist jihadis in Ukraine fighting for the Kiev junta ? On the one hand they are slowly taking their own citizens rights and freedoms away from them, all in the name of “fighting terrorism”, and are up in arms over possible jihadists sneaking across to Europe in the wave of refugees created by their demonic policies, but over the fact that these blood thirsty nutters are already present and active in Europe in Ukraine they remain silent.
Marianka is liberated by NAF as result of counter attack against UAF but UAF is bringing reinforcement to get it back. Can be a present for G7 party.
Is this it? Is this the offensive from the Ukies we’ve been awaiting for the past few months???
In terms of timing it suits the Western Agenda to again paint Russia/pro-Russians as the aggressors in the lead up to the renewal of Western sanctions, the G7 meeting in Germany, to ratchet up the pressure on Greece to avoid making any deals with Russia/China to rescue their economy, and even to derail the St Petersburg Economic Summit in a couple of weeks.
I’ve no doubt Russia will be telling their “proxies” not to take the bait this time round at least. I wonder if they can be held back from launching a sizeable counteroffensive.
The militia is trying to push out from the West of Donetsk. West of these villages and towns are from where some of the shelling of the city by Ukies takes place. So, taking Marinka is a defensive move.
Early reports look good.
In some of the video you can see some “volunteers” move swiftly in support of obvious militia. They are not filmed, just moving in the background very fast. Heavily geared up compared to the militia.
Probably, this is part of the suppression Zakharchenko has indicated would be happening.
Not sure this new news or not — but dropping it in here in case it helps.
From Zero Hedge.
Bloomberg notes,
*INTERFAX CITES GENERAL STAFF OF UKRAINE ARMED FORCES ON ATTACK

To counter attack, Ukraine re-deployed and used artillery that was previously pulled back
Ukraine says it informed international partners on artillery re-deployment.

Droppings from Anonymous of the trollish lies from Ukies is an appropriate description of anything transmitted through the anus of Bloomberg empire.
The west might be up to something. This morning, on Toronto TV, just out of blue we could read a “breaking news” – “2 civilaians died during fight between Ukrainian and rebel forces”. For weeks there was nothing about Ukraina on TV, then suddenly “a breaking news”. The same happened with Macedonia recently, the initial news was “A Blacan state is fighting armed group from a neighbourhood country”. Just that, no names, no nothing. Then next 3 days we got kind of a news.
Whenever they mention Ukraina, or Blacan, something is going on, they just have not told us yet. Beware.
Dear The Saker,
As per usual the UAF started attacking around Donetsk again – seems to have been a bloody battle:
http://fortruss.blogspot.ca/2015/06/heavy-fighting-resumes-around-donetsk.html
Hundreds of miners trapped. Civilians and NAF forces killed etc.
No doubt rebels will be blamed so “West” can have an excuse for sanctions again. Harm Russian markets. The same pattern over and over. Junta sending out fake news to MSM blame rebels yet again. Whilst UAF can have heavy weapons there all the time shelling non-stop everyday. :(
Rgds,
