By Saker Staff for the Saker Blog
This is about the most significant of the last two quiet days. But the silence is over. Some may remember that Military Summary said about two days ago, that there is little to report as there is very little movement on the front. Wait for it, I think we now know why.
Let’s take some extracts, somewhat cleaned up, from the Russian MoD report today which is noticeably longer than the previous reports.
https://t.me/mod_russia_en/2282
https://t.me/mod_russia_en/2283
At 12.30 PM, Kalibr high-precision long-distance sea-based missiles were launched at a command post of the Ukrainian troops near the village of Shirokaya Dacha (Dnepropetrovsk region).
At that moment a working meeting of the commanders of the Aleksandriya operational-strategic group was in progress.
More than 50 generals and officers of the AFU was eliminated. This included the General Staff of the Kakhovka group, airborne assault troops and units that operate towards Nikolayev and Zaporozhye.
(Also confirmed by RT: https://www.rt.com/russia/557428-50-ukrainian-generals-officers-killed-russia/ )
▫️At 08.20 AM, Kalibr high-precision long-distance missiles destroyed 10 M777 155-mm howitzers and up to 20 armoured combat vehicles delivered by the West to the Kiev regime over the past 10 days that were located in a transformer plant in Nikolayev.
And further on in that same report, we see the results of AFU friendly fire, destroying about 40 of their own.
❗️Big losses of the AFU in manpower force the Ukrainian command to involve unprepared personnel in combats, despite their lack of necessary skills in using armament and military equipment.
▫️At 01.30 PM, 2 Su-25 assault fighters of the Ukrainian Air Force launched an attack at the positions of its units near Shirokoye (Dnepropetrovsk region).
Mr Putin’s world changing address at the SPIEF supplies another KABOOM with his announcement that The era of the unipolar world is over. The future world order, currently in progress, will be formed by strong sovereign states. This is nothing less than declaring victory.
As to the front line, after checking a number of sources, Military Summary from end of the day yesterday still brings the most accurate details.
Do go and read the two sections of the Russian MoD report. It is quite stunning. And then for some color, scroll through Intel Slava Z – https://t.me/intelslava/31469
And for a laugh, see Liz Truss: ❗️UK Foreign Office Says Ukraine Should Return to Negotiations with Russia https://t.me/rtnews/25747
(How the worm has turned and how are they trying to rescue something from their failed operation!)
As to the future, we have the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin:
🇷🇺Russia and the republics need to liberate the whole of Ukraine, including Kiev and Lviv, says Denis Pushilin at SPIEF-2022.
So, now we know what the thinking is and we know why it was quiet for two days. I do not put it beyond the realm of possibility that the Russian MoD has new instructions, and this already is being acted upon in terms of current actions, shaping future actions. This war is not over unless the Ukraine collapses or further tranches of 50 at a time command and control of the AFU gets taken out with one fine Kaboom of a Kalibr.

Retaliation for Donetsk bombings.
“Retaliation for Donetsk bombings.” I like the way you think.
So do I! :)
Absolutely……
Stage 3 – Kill the Generals.
The pot appears to have been moved off the back burner onto the front burner, with the unlimited Russian gas, turn up to level 10.
Donbass should hopefully see a stop to the terror bombing now.
Note the British started bombing civilians in ww2 Berlin. Then Bomber Harris (call sign Butcher Harris) and the good old yank’s proceeded to fire bomb German cities. Hitler retaliated.
So who is controlling and supervising the terror bombing in Donbass? Same old same old.
yes let’s not forget the USSR tried to carpet bomb Helinski into dust in WW2. everyone has had a go.
Yeah- they all tried it. They had all read Douhet’s book and thought the analysis proved civilization would be pounded to rubble within two weeks. It took the Anglo-Americans 4 years and 2 years with almost total air supremacy to degrade the German transport system. The factories had long been dispersed or moved underground. Not to mention the Germans, like the Soviets were very good at camouflage.
British early bombed German civilians for months before Germany responded.
Germany’s War – John Wear
Sorry – Germans were bombing Brits for months before the Brits started bombing German cities in earnest. No one country has any moral superiority on this.
I’m afraid not. The British started bombing German cities in order to provoke Germany into bombing Britain, which was Churchill’s plan to arouse a rather passive, neutral British public which considered it to be a European war, not the concern of the British. Hitler considered the British brothers and did not wish to return the fire until he was finally forced to. He saved the British Army at Dunkirk by refusing his generals’ demand to wipe them out whilst they had the chance. And he tried to refrain from bombing Britain for the same reasons. Churchill, however, finally got his way.
Rather it was a cunning ploy to get the Germans to switch from bombing. British airfields with the loss of pilots and aircraft into bombing British cities.
Correct.
Churchill was a mass murdering war criminal.
There was a reason Germany had no high altitude bombers… they knew such were ineffective against military targets and only useful in blanket bombing civilians.
The ‘Good Guys’ even made a blockbuster movie about their war crimes (The Dam Busters), which was blatant war crimes for the mass killing of innocent civilians from the flooding.
The fire bombing of civilian cities with NO military presence was brutal to the extreme… second and even third waves of bombers appearing to obliterate people trying to save themselves. British fighters even straffed the river banks where civilians had been forced to flee from the furnace of the burning cities.
Dresden, one of the many cities with NO military lost hundreds of thousands of its citizens in the firestorm. It used to be known as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
The US provided Germany with supplies without which the Blitz would have been impossible: oil products and additives for airplane engines.
Dunkirk seems to be Hitlers perhaps greatest flaw in action: he and his inner circle stood in awe of the British. But by this time the most dangerous adversary was the US, which was determined to weaken/bankrupt all contenders to global hegemony.
As for arousing public: the british Admiral saying now that UK/Europe must take on Russia on the battlefield is ludicrous now, but the real intent of the Western elite may be to let a combination of economic and other hardship combined with propaganda work on their populations. In this case we will see a real/total suppression of actual information in the West – this seems already underway.
ad hominem removed … mod
The British RAF were at their breaking point and the Banker/cult stooge Churchill ordered the bombing of German cities in order to steer the Luftwaffe to bomb English cities instead as retaliation, this is a well-known historical fact and no Anglo re-writing of History can change that fact.
second ad hominem removed … mod
The story you most often get is that German planes did drop bombs on London but that they did so either by a navigational mistake or to lighten their load to escape enemy interceptors. The early German medium bombers weren’t any better than the old Staaken bombers of 1914-18 when it came to actually hitting target. This is why Germany was so hyped on dive bombing.
Churchill himself first commanded firebombing, attacking German cities of civilian refugees, no military value whatever except perhaps Churchill wanted to reduce the number of refugees hanging around after the war. Hitler retaliated in kind that deliberate war crime. Also Churchill himself had an inordinate hatred of the German people, perhaps stemming from the beating the British army took from the Boers – Dutch, but closely related to the Germans – until in the second go round the Brits created concentration camps and destroyed civilian infrastructure – poisoning wells was something Churchill bragged about – rounded up all the women and children into camps where disease and squalor killed many.
(partial) Reply to Givi, Motorola, Zacharchenko, and 8 years of war crimes in Donetsk, Lugansk.
May the fallen heroes rest in peace
Don’t forget Mozgovoi, one of the first victims of their cowardly assassination program. He was the one they feared the most because he openly talked about the oligarchs and how they were behind the war. He even contacted the regime forces and tried to stop the fighting and convince them to join forces against the oligarchs who were the enemies of all people in Ukraine.
I’m glad to see their cowardly assassination strategy has failed and that the LDNR forces are currently in the process of defeating them on the battlefield. You can kill a person but you can’t kill a movement when it has popular support. Someone else will just take their place. Zionist oligarchs and their mercenaries will never understand that.
Thank you, yes, it seemed like I was missing one or more. They were not victims of random Ukie shelling, but of planned, targeted assasinations.
Thanks for remembering Mozgovoi.
One of my favorite stories was when Zakharchenko offered to return a group of captured soldiers, but required their mothers to come and pick them up.
How many NATO commanders were at that high level meeting ? Bet a half dozen
Pretty obvious what Russia is doing with the front line being reinforced and maneuvering the arms, they are also probing the enemy positions and power points. Expect a major operation in a day or two probably on multiple fronts.
yawn. the same comment since 2 months.
it’s a meat grinder for both sides. nothing more, nothing less.
The anniversary of this is coming up:
Operation Barbarossa
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Barbarossa
Sunday, 22 June 1941
While it would be nice to think that, I think the current Russian Stavka is too pragmatic for such romantic symbolism. But we have two days to go! Maybe Operation Assorabrab? (smile)
Hardly “retaliation”, simply good Russian ISR (and stupid UAF, putting so many general staff together at lunch [12.30] ). Catch them all at the dining table. This level of UAF should be separated. Stupid.
I’ve been watching the Ukranian military all year and I haven’t seen them do one smart thing yet
Not sure if anyone has posted this but it’s supposedly a Kinzhal missile strike in Ukraine. Absolutely terrifying.
https://twitter.com/51st__State/status/1538246067262832643?s=20&t=JCM82os4LeuccjUe_Xxssg
Agree. Unbelievable power in the explosion and missile’s capability to reach such depths. Makes trying to hide in bunkers, or stash anything underground utterly pointless.
This is a complete fake in every which way you look at it.
I tend to agree that it is fake, but I would like to hear your breakdown of the video. Also significant is the absence of any mention of a Kinzhal strike by the Russian MOD.
How is it fake?
Here is some Data on the Kinzhal missile.
Because it flies at hypersonic speeds within the atmosphere, the air pressure in front of it forms a plasma cloud as it moves, absorbing radio waves.
Additional
Plasma stealth technology also faces various technical problems. For example, the plasma itself emits EM radiation, although it is usually weak and noise-like in spectrum. Also, it takes some time for plasma to be re-absorbed by the atmosphere and a trail of ionized air would be created behind the moving aircraft, but at present there is no method to detect this kind of plasma trail at long distance. Thirdly, plasmas (like glow discharges or fluorescent lights) tend to emit a visible glow: this is not compatible with overall low observability concept.
Glow discharge, visible glow!
Isn’t that what you’re seeing.
Furthermore,
The high speed of the Kinzhal gives it better target-penetration characteristics than lighter, slower cruise-missiles[23] With advanced maneuvering capabilities, high precision and hypersonic speed, some sources give it the name “carrier killer” due to its alleged ability to disable and possibly even sink a 100,000 ton supercarrier with a single strike.[24] With a mass of 2,000 kg (4,400 lb) and a speed of Mach 12 (including 500 kg warhead and the other parts of the missile), the Kinzhal has more than 16.9 gigajoules of kinetic energy, or the equivalent of 4,000 kg of TNT.
That’s with a 500kg warhead!
Response appreciated.
Sound reaches the camera at the same time the sky lights up. (one of many clues) …
Also look at the halo between the foreground treeline and the background explosion. Obvious fake.
Yes, this is definitely a fake video, the tree lines look like roto’ed fg/bg split and composited a cg-explosion and re-timed. Very easy to do now a days.
The low-quality video, 2d camera shakes and colour correction is also a dead give away.
What amazes is how people can be so easily fooled, without being objective.
The missle is moving much too slow for this not to be a doctored video
Video apparently was slowed down a bit to be more visible.
Remembers the shopping Kinzal in the first weeks of SMO.
Cool!
While a Kinzhal with a Thermobaric warhead might produce an explosion this spectacular. Or perhaps a bunker buster hitting an underground ammo storage facility. I find this particular video a bit doubtful. But I could be wrong.
Raven 6: A Khinzhal missile does not look like that on video. In fact a mobile phone camera would not be able to capture it. Also the fireball looks suspicious.
I don’t think you can see a Kinzhal missile flying. What you might see is the plasma that glows. Have you ever seen a shooting star?
Also, plasmas (like glow discharges or fluorescent lights) tend to emit a visible glow: this is not compatible with overall low observability concept. So you might be able to see the glow but no way to stop it.
As to the explosion, that does look suspicious.
I’m no rocket scientist and I didn’t stay in a holiday inn express last night. Just saying…..
The MoD has a launch of an Kinzhal today on their telegram channel.
No idea if it is incidental or not. https://t.me/mod_russia_en/2287
No Mod is an Iskander
Some say its fake CGI. Not sure myself if this is real, but if so, then I would not want to be a ukrop or NATO soldier at this time in history. This is the most powerful non-nuke boom I have ever seen. makes the US MOAB look like a fart in the sand.
The Moab has a separate small charge in the center which provides the boom. Something associated with certain types of rock ;-).
The explosion of the missile was impressive. However; it was the secondary explosion of all of the munitions that were obviously stored in the bunker that was awe inspiring.
“June” for the date, “today” in the caption, winter trees in the video.
Ignorant of bombs.
But US English exclamations make it look/sound fake to me.

E na Ucrania em Março lançou logo dois Kinzhal:

(Just watch the video and don’t care about the stupidity of the audio.)
Its fake. Not even CGI.
50 officers at one time? Wow! That is a serious strike.
There is talk that Russians were tipped off by someone on the ukrop side about the meeting. If so, zelstein is not in a good position anymore.
Someone probably used their cell phone.
Just finished reading yesterday’s smoke’n hot report of what got y-x=boomed. Fifty generals and staff, blimey mate, cracker. Ten big Yankee 777 smoked plus 40 new tanks and fighting vehicles, and a healthy dose of Merc trash taken out, looks like God will have to sort that one out.
I see a bit of a pattern, everytime some western WEF trash come to massage Ms Elinsky’s sore bal……Russia turns up the pain dial, cranks the vise and….the squeeze, is on.
Cheers M
Yes forensics are on the scene now investigating.
Could take a year or more to match the limbs though.
Still the money/compensation to the families of the dead will be held in Kolomoisky’s account accruing interest.
Here’s more WEF trash (Schwab) having a cup of tea with VVP in St. Petersburg at the recent 25th SPIEF
https://forumspb.com/en/news/news/russian-president-vladimir-putin-meets-with-world-economic-forum-chairman-klaus-schwab/
they had a real group hug squeeze at meetings end.
Old Troll, this was 2019.
Putin made a speech at the time. I had fun because before the time I bet everyone in the Cafe that the words Great Reset will not pass his lips. I won the bet.
This has been explained many times. Just because Putin speaks to everyone under the sun, one cannot infer that he is part of some Global Power and in cahoots with something. The history of the last two years de facto should have kicked that meme to where it belongs .. the dustbin. Single Polar is what we’ve had for at least since the 2ndWW, depending on how you count. We’re moving to multi-polarity as a world system, if you like. Much has been posted about this, yet some nits stick to their old views, without the ability to actually integrate the current world changes.
Trying to infer and post material that Putin did something, in your normal anti-Russian pose, is just going to have you kicked out again.
amar: Thanks pointing that out. I initially thought how “oily” Schwab appeared, after declaring war against Russia and wrecking the West, he shows up at SPIEF 2022? Given how these guys operate, it seemed quite possible they could be at SPIEF 2022 or change sides.
Perhaps Liz can be trusted with negotiations to return Rostov on Don back to Ukraine. Pathetic.
Voronezh too, don’t forget!
Also don’t forget Sankt Peterburg & Moskva.
@ Greifenberg
@ Dubliner
LOLOLOL…She’s working hard at that, I am sure.
Rostov-on-Don and Voronezh? Where are those places in Ukraine? Damned Russians took them! Let’s give more tanks to clown Zelensky to get them back.
She’s been looking at the map ever since the meeting with Lavrov, who cut her head and showed it the world, “look, it is empty!”
La Truss assumed that her bedroom “abilities” that propelled her to the top of the British establishment, were going to keep her going in the real world.
Then she met Lavrov.
Oooops…
Lone Wolf
Nothing new here. This strategy dates back to ar least WWII. Apply pressure in many areas, confuse the enemy as to the location of a “main” attack, then capitalize on weakness.
What’s interesting is the pause, which leads me to believe that some quiet negotiations are going on.
“What’s interesting is the pause, which leads me to believe that some quiet negotiations are going on.”
Yes, additonally thieves fall out. France, Germany and Italy rushed to meet Zhe alone, followed by Boris Johnson (representing the Anglos) going solo the day after to try to better the offer. Old Europe is finding the onset of death spasms an unnerving process.
https://www.voltairenet.org/article217349.html
The pause can be explained by the need to clear the deck for VVP’s watershed SPIEF speech – to announce the birth of the new epoch and the end of western hegemony.
A meeting of that nature would be a closely guarded secret, IMO. It’s time and location could be generally determined by Electronic Intelligence(ELINT). But, I would assume that Human Intelligence(HUMINT) assets would be required to know the exact coordinates of the building/room where the meeting was held.
This may be extremely good news for the poor Ukrainian cannon fodder. Making senior Ukrainian officers suffer, may hasten the end of this phase of WWIII.
The downside would be if Russia inadvertently killed the generals that were plotting against Zelensky.
If HUMINT knew the WHERE, the same HUMINT knew the WHO and what their positions were
vis-a-vis the Z-douche!
Agree!
You have a lot of faith in HUMINT. It could be something overheard at the next pisspot, or a local vendor who just got an order for fifty steaks in a war where no one’s had much meat in months.
Of course, the key component here is ‘INT’.
There is a deficit of it in Zone A, as our friend Andrei Martyanov has explained. Most of the ‘top’ military and foreign affairs brass are products of an ‘education’ system that has run on participation prizes for decades now, and can barely understand a simple linear y=mx+b relationship.
Russia is not bluffing! Eventually targetting decision making centers… A new phase of war has already started after Ukraine shelled civilian infrastructure in Donetsk..
We want to know what kind of response NATO will deliver..
“We want to know what kind of response NATO will deliver.”
Hopefully, NATO won’t do anything. Else, it’ll be tit-for-tat all the way to WWIII.
response ? uk comes out with
https://www.rferl.org/a/britain-army-general-troops-be-prepared-fight-russia/31905201.html
Russian intelligence. Russian weapons. Russian precision. Kaboom.
Since the Saker staff are volunteers, who are they or what are their nicks (so readers can celebrate them)?
We see how effective the “military intelligence” is today. It was highly effective in WWII, say the Germans.
“Who let the bears out?” Blinken did in Alaska. The language used by China and Russia changed after that. China said then that it would not allow the U.S. to talk down to it. Soon after – within a month – Russia said the same thing even with the same words. You might remember that Blinken used the time that is allotted to the media to film the two parties, that is used for mostly pleasantries, to begin the hard meeting telling China in front of the whole world how it should be, and the Chinese official responded in kind to this or “tit for tat”, defending his country’s honor, right? The world changed like that. Diplomacy was thrown out the window by Blinken. He let them out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUxKsG5YrPE
“Grover meets Deputy Secretary Tony Blinken to talk about refugees” – Video link.
About the prisoner exchange involving the neo-Nazi Taira:
Although we already have the confirmation made by herself, it is still not known for sure by whom she was exchanged. So far Russia has remained silent.
Video of neo-Nazi Taira’s statement:
At first the information provided by Russia assured that no neo-Nazis were subject to the prisoner exchange. The first exception was made.
How many neo-Nazi prisoners are worth the life of a single person fighting for the emancipation of his People and Territory?
All of them? Or none?
The life of each one fighting for emancipation is valuable in itself. It cannot be measured in comparison to our oppressors. So that is not the question!
The terms of such an exchange are determined by the correlation of forces and the political and symbolic importance of who is being rescued.
Still, the central question remains: how is the choice of who is to be exchanged made? Under what criteria?
The moment preceding the victory is also the most dangerous.
Nothing would be more appropriate than Zelensky having to sign an unconditional surrender to Putin, then taken to Donetsk to stand trial at war tribunal…just so fitting !
Zelensky wont be anywhere in the Ukraine when it unconditionally surrenders.
yes ….a “strange” story this one considering what she had done…..
Well, I was wondering what sort of retaliation would Russian forces go for. Glad I wasn’t dissappointed.
Let’s see if they’ll dare to shell Donetsk now.
…I bet if they dare to shell ….target will be rooster in the Kyiv….
Just saw this today. False flag, fake news? Take your pick. Un fortunately many will believe it.
“The Russians have just used chemical weapons in Mariupol. Does NATO now step in?”
Quora Digest
Not even fake news: out and out disinformation. Quora is just a user generated site: anyone can post anything they want.
I agree, but given the IQ of the people around here, it’s “news” the subscribers will believe. I’m getting tired of trying to reason with those people (they’re still wearing masks and thinking they have covid, even with no symptoms and a negative pcr “test.”)
this is fake news from April 2022
https://www.quora.com/The-Russians-have-just-used-chemical-weapons-in-Mariupol-Does-NATO-now-step-in
Mariupol has been under Allied control for weeks. Completely, stupidly fake.
Such a meeting with so many high ranking military officers must have been kept %100 secret. But despite that, apparently Russia enjoys excellent intelligence gathering all over Ukraine. Very likely a lot of people across Ukraine have gotten sick and tired of the current western-paid stooges. Think it won’t be long before ordinary people all over Ukraine rise up and deal a massive blow to those neonazi thugs and their NATO supporters.
Maybe 99.9% secret, but evidently not 100% secret.
GL smelled a rat. The General he spoke of, the Pentagon’s guy, post Ms Elinsky, has a giant bulls eye on his back. If he’s the Pentagon’s guy, he may well be Russia’s guy also. Removing obstacles, shaping the battlefield, very important if this is the case, again GL stressed mass killing for nothing must stop. One of the main reasons I’ve always liked GL, he cares about people.
This may be the opening required. Also many of the artty positions shelling Donesk were heavily bombed in the past 24 hrs some while deployed. If it was a successful operation they should have downgraded Ukrainian firing positions. We’ll know in a few days.
Cheers M
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY EVERYONE.

not bad…so how many generals are there in the pentagon?
That number is top secret.
A couple hundred
Guy sounds American.
“Russia and the republics need to liberate the whole of Ukraine, including Kiev and Lviv, says Denis Pushilin at SPIEF-2022.”
Absolutely correct. You cannot leave some sort of a nazi/Hate-Inc. rump state sitting around to be doing terrorist **** for the next century.
What about the US ‘moderate’ Nazis?
@ WTFUD
What about the US ‘moderate’ Nazis?
—————————————————
A “moderate” nazi is like a half-pregnancy.
Ever seen such a thing?
Lone Wolf
No but I’ve heard about it!
The daughter of the Kuwaiti minister who swore Saddam Hussein was ripping pregnancies from the womb, then upped his game to incubators.
“A moderate Nazi is like half a pregnancy”. That was lol classic. Speaking of babies, everytime the West mentions babies dying, rape of grandmothers or pregant women, hospitals or girls schools bombed, human rights abuses, chemical weapons deployment, torture of so & so and imprisonment of their preferred opposition du jour; the best practice is to simply ignore and completely avoid such sources as traps meant to lure one into a rabbit hole of senseless nonsense so you take your eye off the real ball.
Been saying this from the day 1. The most vile toxic subhumans on Earth are at the Russian gates.
Not a square mile can be left to the Satan’s scum. Absolute annihilation of all life is the only solution.
Bystanders who wish to live, just run to the other side of the planet.
Seems like that might be the game changer that Scott was talking about. Wrong side of the fence however.
I thought the Russian were taking the weekend off to rotate in fresh troops (and they may have.) Seems more likely now however they lulled the general staff into a false sense of security and took advantage of that.
The Russian Military and their general staff is a whole lot brighter than the western nations. Let’s hope and pray that the west wakes up before they step over the line in Lithuania. May be too late for that. time will tell.
Russian press and Larry Johnson reliably reporting that Lithuania has forthwith refused to allow Russia to transport US-sanctioned materials (e.g. building materials) through its territory to Kaliningrad.
Sometimes some acts are so flagrantly stupid that any sort of commentary is superfluous. Lithuania is enormously dependent on Russia for its energy: electricity, gas, oil, coal. What remains therefore is to speculate how Russia will answer. What’s guaranteed is that Lithuania won’t like it.
I am not sure that liberating the whole of Ukraine now is a helpful proposal. If one considers how much sacrifice of people and material was necessary to achieve the successes achieved so far, liberating the whole of Ukraine – the remaining four fifth- will require at least as much sacrifice. After all, Russia has agreed to take care of the reconstruction of the areas that have been liberated so far. St. Petersburg (Leningrad) has made a special commitment to help Mariupol.
The remaining four-fifths should be rebuilt by the West. After all, it has sought the conflict politically, economically and ideologically since 1991 and in 2014 added an aggressive military component to which Russia could only react defensively at the time, but on 24 February was able to go on the offensive.
The liberation of the whole of Ukraine will possibly take place if one reckons in decades.
The Ukrainians are becoming less and less demographically, but Russia, especially its Russian Orthodox part, is also in a demographic downward spiral. Russia must take countermeasures, but without discriminating against the Muslim or atheist/agnostic part of the population.
But Russia will also solve this problem. There are enough people on earth who want to become part of the “Russian world” (also in the EU).
If China’s rapid rise continues, it may not even take decades.
Autoriser l’Empire des mensonges et ses vassaux de l’occident collectif a reconstruire l’Ukraine c’est perdre la souveraineté pour laquelle les peuples de la Fédération de Russie se battent.
Mod – machine translated:
To allow the Empire of Lies and its vassals of the collective West to rebuild Ukraine is to lose the sovereignty for which the peoples of the Russian Federation are fighting.
i think at some point, after a total collapse of the Ukr army, all Russia has to do is to walk to the Polish border. In other words, the majority of scarifies, after Odessa and Nikolayev, would be already done.
If I were Russia I’d continue on to a natural defense line, e.g. the Dnepr river and secure everything on its right side. Leaving the western part of Ucraine as a bombing field for further NATO supply. Kiew is located at that river, too. I believe that Russia will now go for much higher stakes than those which were previously discussed in Turkey some month ago. NATO setup has lost in Ucraine. All Russian neighbours need to de-militarize soon.
Once the Russophone-majority areas are liberated and Transnistria land-bridge is secured, it may be that Russia is keeping options open regarding other territory.
What may matter more to RF strategists is time–once these territorial minimums are accomplished, Russia may choose to continue as along as economic / political / cultural / societal damage to West aggravates. Going slow may actually help–if the Russian strategy of minimizing casualties continues beyond Donbass. Going slow will give Europe more time to self-destruct.
UN Art. 51 (collective self-defense) covers Donbass, arguably all Russian areas. Stretching out Donbass conquest in time, increases pain in West. If Russia wants to keep it legal they need to look for other basis after Donbass. Recognition of NATO as co-belligerents would be one way to go.
You’re making the very poor assumption that:
1) Ukraine has an unlimited supply of conscripts
And
2) that those brand new conscripted soldiers with zero motivation to protect the Zelinsky regime will put up as much resistance as the regular army (which is almost completely gone) and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th line reserves.
Anyone who wants to defend the Zelinsky regime has had more than ample opportunity to enlist by now.
Lastly, I’m a military professional, with 33 years of service, and who started studying warfare 15 years before I first joined the Army. To borrow a line from the old movie “Support Your Local Sherrif,”…. I’ve been watching the Ukranian Army all spring, and I haven’t seen it do one smart thing yet.
The old Ukraine was a sword pointed at the heart of Russia. Any rump Ukraine will be a dagger pointed at the heart of Russia. No Ukraine should be allowed to exist in any form.
I couldn’t agree more with Pushilin. Russia must denazify, demilitarize the whole Ukraine, and bring about regime change in Kiev, establishing a new constitution that rejects Ukraine’s membership in NATO and granting the country a neutral status.
Only in this way will the sacrifice of Russian soldiers and civilians from Donbass have been worthwhile in order to build a better country for the future.

My question to him is: with what army ??
and why….after Brexit we have no business to assist a non EU country but that is in Europe … nor in Nato. Crazy world.
Wonder if the USA “suggestion” of Baltics incl Poland plus UK plus UKR forming a sub military organisation is past the starting blocks….?
Rather than scoffing at the CoS’s remarks, please consider how a military build-up works.
First a country makes a massive, as in detrimental to all other parts of its economy, financial commitment. No money, no army. Second, it mobilizes its reserves and conducts a levee en masse. No people, no army. Third, it spends at least six months blending all that new stuff with new people to create an effective fighting force.
It’s not a question of building up a credible army. It’s a question of time. If it actually comes to UK boots on the ground on the Continent again, half of Europe’s capitol cities and the majority of its military installations will be flattened before a single new division is ready to deploy.
I see the general’s comments as a cry for help.
Isn’t it ridiculous ? Why does UK have to pick a fight with RF ? RF has not attacked UK. It is carrying out limited operation in ukr to save fellow ethnic Russian from brutal pogrom of ukr nationalist/neo-nazis. How does that involve UK?
I think a better idea for UK would be to unfreeze RF assets and normalize relations with RF for their own safety.
Dear Lizzy, sorry love but that ship has sailed. The negotiations are now the following:
SURRENDER OR DIE
So was Truss aware Bojo went to Kiev to say
Speaking at a joint press conference earlier with President Zelensky, Mr Johnson outlined the UK’s training programme for Ukrainian troops, saying it would harness “that most powerful of forces, the Ukrainian determination to win”.
“Two months on from my last visit, the Ukrainian grit, determination and resilience is stronger than ever, and I know that unbreakable resolve will long outlive the vain ambitions of President Putin,” he said.
Downing Street said the UK-led training scheme would have the potential to train up to 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers every 120 days and would allow them to “accelerate their deployment, rebuild their forces and scale-up their resistance”.
Soldiers would learn “battle-winning skills for the front line, as well as basic medical training, cyber-security and counter explosive tactics”.
The government added international partners would also be invited to host the programme.
If the offer is accepted by Mr Zelensky there would be discussions about the size of the training operation, which is expected to take place outside of Ukraine.
The previous Operation Orbital saw the UK train more than 22,000 Ukrainian personnel from 2015 up until the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Kiev reportedly sent a note to the Polish gov’t to round up all Ukie male citizens of military age.
There are ~21 million Ukrainian citizens living in NATOland and it’s vassals. It’s a easy guess that the press gangs will be working overtime all over NATOland soon enough.
Cannon fodder for the Spring campaigns
It was immediately denounced as a forgery by state-supported Polish media. Also, the timing is all wrong and it makes no sense.
If the hot shooting war vs NATO starts, these men will be caught up in the conscription net just like all others in Poland and elsewhere regardless of nationality. “I’m Ukrainian and exempt from your draft” will not go over well when German, Polish and Rumanian boys and girls are being sent to the Eastern Front.
If there is no immediate hot shooting war, these men living outside Ukraine will be available to man the army of the government in exile when the eventual counteroffensive starts. Think “Ukraine Free Forces”.
Do you know how much real estate is required to train just one division? Any recruit training camp inside or outside Ukraine (yes, it’s an act of war to host, train and transport troops) will be lit up like a Christmas tree by indirect fire.
So, no, I don’t buy it.
If the hot shooting war vs NATO starts……
That started on 24.Feb :)
The anglos had 8 years to train, arm the nazis and we see the results on the ground. What makes Bojo think that 120 days of training can achieve what 8 years couldn’t?
Just a small computation, 10000 : 500/d = 20d, it takes 120d to train but only 20d to kill them? IMHO, they all should attend to basic school math once more. They’d never catch up with the losses… they’ve shown the NATO incompetence, game over!
On the terrorist bombings of Donetsk and Mr. Putin’s speech at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum:
Terrorist attacks on Donetsk continue:
The reasons for the difficulty of preventing the continued bombing have been laid out here in this The Saker, including by me: https://thesaker.is/sitrep-operation-z-the-great-walkback/#comment-1108608
However, the origin of the problem should be sought in the reasons that led to the signatures of the Minsk Accords (2014/2015) making the diplomatic route prevail over a successful military rout (Mariupol was on the verge of being taken).
As a result, the Accords were never fulfilled to the letter (starting with the ceasefire) and the bombing continues to this day (mainly from the neo-Nazi fortified position in Avdiivka, just 15k from Donetsk).
Of course, the Minsk Accords involve complex, controversial and highly sensitive issues. They are like tips of an iceberg, indicating something much deeper and dangerous.
For decades, Mr. Putin (as the political representative of the hegemonic fraction of the Russian ruling class) cherished aspirations of peaceful coexistence with the global ruling class.
As history has shown, this is impossible.
In the present stage of capitalism there is no place for national bourgeoisies. Globalization is not a conspiracy of a “degenerate West”, but the unavoidable imposition of the development of the productive forces.
In his speech in St. Petersburg, Mr. Putin outlines an economic project for Russia, placing it within the framework of what can be characterized as social-liberalism:
– opening of the Economy to the outside world, including to the West;
– free enterprise and market deregulation;
– neoliberal macroeconomics, rigid in its fiscal and monetary aspects;
– and, in contradiction to the previous points, social justice, development, and technological sovereignty.
The 6 main points of Russia’s development project: 👉🏼 https://t.me/vicktop55/4654
Just as before it occurred in relation to his “colleagues” in the West and the Minsk Accords, history will once again refute Mr. Putin. And it will become obvious that there is no way out within an accumulation of Capital in systemic crisis.
A break with the current economic system is needed.
For Russia, for every People and Nation, is put an inversion of the famous motto that motivated the Soviet soldiers to resist at Stalingrad: 《 There is no land for us on this side of the Volga, we have to cross it. 》

For every dead Russian, ukrops will lose 10x more of their own. For every bomb on Donetsk, the ukrops will lose weapons warehouses, refineries, and commanders.
That it took this long to go after the head of the beast is mind boggling.
If it were up to me, on the day one, all 3 branches of the rogue government would be obliterated.
And yet, they still thrive with infrastructure intact. Only on Russian watch. Unreal.
The missile attacks on the 50 Ukie officers and the Howitzers and armoured cars show that RF has excellent HUMINT on the ground.
Maybe from inside Ukie echelons. We know Ukranian citizens are reporting information to Russia. But the intel on the meeting of generals can only have come from an insider or the Ukies were careless and Russia listened to their communications (if the latter their incompetence is glaring).
Incompetence.
What percentage of those 50 generals are newly promoted?
When one is losing that many soldiers a day, the pool of candidates for top jobs in the military becomes fairly thin. Also the likelihood of appointing ‘double agents’ becomes more certain because the people and records once used for previous vetting of said potential candidates is compromised. God help you if you have inadvertently recruited ‘double agents’ to be involved in the recommendation process.
All it takes (as someone dryly noted above) one idiot to use his phone to tell Mum he’s now a general, to end his career as a General.
For phones, It’s 2 different ‘hacks’
1) (easy) simply finding the location is triangulation of cell-tower/satellite ‘handoffs’ or
2) (harder) finding out what the conversation requires breaking encryption and a direct intercept
– The Russians probably have something similar to Stingray
– The Russians have seized all those nice Starlink terminals in the disputed territories provided by Mr Musk and may in fact have broke the encryption.
– UkNaziland is called 404 for good reason (no electricity) and in this day and age, stealth control of said internet on target country is a prerequisite modern warfare. Either ‘game it’ or ‘destroy it’ seems to be the strategy.
As the Russians joke, the SOP has solved the Ukraine’s rolling blackout problem.
It time again for a laugh! Enjoy this video of Ukrainian Superior Intellect:

Military expert Boris Rozhin with a brief summary of the results of the operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine as of June 19, 2022, 23.15, specially for the Voenkor Kotenok Z @voenkorKotenok channel :
1.
Severodonetsk.
The village of Metelkino has been taken, the AFU grouping at the Azot plant is in operational encirclement (bridges have been destroyed, transportation across the river by boats does not provide full-fledged supplies), Ukrainian sources confirm heavy losses.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, obviously, are striving to completely block Azot, and then proceed to eliminate the remnants of the enemy grouping.
2.
Soledar.
Battles near Belogorovka and Berestovoye. There are also battles near Nikolayevka. The Artemovsk-Lysichansk highway is actually blocked for the enemy. The main supply goes along the Artemovsk-Seversk-Lysichansk highway, although attacks are also being made on it.
3.
Golden.
Fighting in the Vrubovka area, as well as on the outskirts of Zolote. There are attempts to advance to Novoannovka.
To the north of Gorskoye, our troops were able to enter Chekhirovo from Toshkovka, which is located directly on the Lisichansk-Gorskoye highway.
4.
Artemovsk.
Fighting near Novolugansky and Semigorye. The enemy holds the Uglegorsk thermal power plant and uses the road through Kodema for supplies after our troops cut the Artemovsk-Svetlodarsk highway north of the Uglegorsk thermal power plant.
To the east of Artemovsk, the front line runs at Pokrovsky and Klinovoe. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine removed the command of one of the brigades due to an attempt to retreat from Artemovsk.
5.
Avdiivka.
There is no serious progress towards Krasnogorovka and Ochertino. The enemy is even trying to counterattack in order to try to push our troops back from the Konstantinovka-Avdeevka highway, but without any success. Along the way, the enemy continues intensive shelling of Donetsk and Yasinovataya. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the army of the DPR are stepping up counter-battery work.
Fighting continued on the outskirts of New York.
6.
Carbon.
Fighting intensified in the area of Ugledar. The enemy tried to push back our troops in Pavlovka, but had no success. On our part, attempts to advance at Novomikhailovka were unsuccessful. There is also a front in Marinka and Velikaya Novoselovka.
7.
Zaporozhye.
On the Kamenskoye-Orekhov-Gulyaipole-Velikaya Novoselovka line, there are no significant changes, although the intensity of artillery fire is growing. The offensive of the RF Armed Forces on Zaporozhye, which Ukrainian propaganda used to scare, never began.
8.
Nikolaev.
Positional battles in the Nikolaev and Krivoy Rog directions. The enemy is trying to resume active operations, but due to heavy losses, he again does not achieve significant success.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Black Sea Fleet continue to strike at Ochakovo and Nikolaev, destroying military infrastructure.
9.
Slavyansk.
Battles at Tatyanovka, Prishib and Bogorodichny. Fighting also continues in the area of the Valley and Krasnopolye. Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is already working on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the settlement. Lighthouses.
10.
Raisin.
Battles near Kurulka and Velikaya Kamyshevakha. The enemy is trying to probe the defense of the RF Armed Forces in the direction of Balakleya.
The headquarters of the operational group “Alexandria” was destroyed by the strikes of cruise missiles – the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered heavy losses in the command staff.
11.
Kharkov.
Attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to regain lost positions in the area of Ternovoye and Rubizhnoye ended in failure. The battles for Upper Saltov and Bolshoi Passages continued.
The enemy expects the Russian Armed Forces to soon go on the offensive and is preparing public opinion for the need to withdraw to the outskirts of Kharkov. However, the assault on Kharkov can hardly be expected now. Active work is also underway on the Zolochiv fortified area.

Boris Rozhin: There is no difference between ISIS and Ukraine like this
Express interview for the @voenkorKotenok channel :
1. Is it true that reservists, theterodefense and mercenaries grind in battles, and the most combat-ready units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are in the 3rd echelon and are protected for a counteroffensive?
– Materials from the front show that the remnants of personnel units, including officers and sergeants, also suffer serious losses. The increase in the number of losses among reservists, Volkssturm and mercenaries is explained by the fact that they are just plugging holes in the regular structures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to the lack of trained soldiers, sergeants and officers.
Of course, the enemy tries to save the remaining personnel, because he understands that he will not be able to quickly replace them.
2. What is the probability that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will approach Kherson?
– Such attempts will certainly be made from the Krivoy Rog direction. But it is unlikely that the enemy will be able to count on operational success here now. The failed offensive at Davydov Ford perfectly showed the cost of such actions in people and equipment.
3. Is Kyiv planning a “Budennov scenario” and do such plans have a chance of success?
– Various terrorist attacks on the territory of Ukraine, as well as attempts to stage terrorist attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation are inevitable.
There is no fundamental difference between ISIS and Ukraine in matters of terror. We must be prepared for this and, accordingly, tune in to methodical work within the CTO.
4. Kyiv announces negotiations for August, which will begin after a “successful counteroffensive.” What does the minimum program for the Ukrainian leadership look like?
– Kyiv does not have its own program of action. The US and Britain are determined to drag out the war as much as possible. Therefore, Kyiv will act within the wishes of its owners.
You should not pay attention to the chatter of Kyiv – you need to concentrate on achieving the military goals of the operation and liberating new territories. The best path to peace is military success, not negotiations with the Nazi gang, which is devoid of real subjectivity.

In the classic work of Japanese medieval literature, The Tale of the House of Taira, there are these words:
“The sovereign is the ship, the vassals are the water; the water holds the ship, but it also capsizes it.”
There are different situations. One can lose respect. One can lose dignity. You can lose face. You can lose people’s trust.
Sometimes, some particularly talented figures, probably not even the highest ones, manage to lose it all at once. This, however, affects not them, but the entire system, the sovereign (following the Japanese medieval terminology) and the strength of the state structure. And the same water runs the risk of toppling the ship of state.
To think that it is possible not to explain something to the people is a mistake. It is a mistake to think that people will forget and forgive. To believe that it has always worked, and now we will forget is a mistake.
People will not just not forget. People will draw conclusions. And they will definitely ask: why it was so. And I’m prepared to repeat myself a thousand times – lying to ourselves is destructive.
By the way. The Tale of Tyra’s House didn’t end well for the clan. It lost the confrontation with Minamoto. Because of mistakes in government and military management. Completely lost, with no one left.
A telling story about Taira, that is.
On the report/ rumor that the Aidar Battalion surrendered at Severodonetsk, i see no mention in the NoD report. So either they surrendered after the report was issued or it’s just unfounded rumor. Any info anyone?

Please tell me why this has not been mentioned anywhere including “the duran” which is normally up to date and careful in its comments. I cannot get telegram, though I have really tried to do so. Is it true? has the Russian MOD really given this information??? Without telegram, where is the story???
rosemerry, the sitrep contains a link to RT as well.
It is widely reported. What is the problem with telegram? Perhaps someone can help.
That list is very depressing for a Swede/Croat… List of Shame.
Not one Serb choose to serve the Anti-Christ though and since I was born as a Yugoslavian I use the supreme Cope and point to that fact(my woman who is Serbian laughed at me, very rude).
A note on the Donbass cauldron, it looks like the RF+allies *wants* the 404 Military to pump troops into the semi-cauldron and since their “President” emulate another “star”(Mr. Mustache) with odd connections the 404´s willingly rush into this blood sacrifice, or maybe suicide-by-Russian would fit better.
*The Mercenary list*: If we suppose that half of those that returned home were wounded in action(conservatively counted) and return home with one foot in a bag we get a casualty/attrition rate of over 40%(extremely high) and this is way beyond what a unit can take and still be counted as *effective* in combat, just a note.
This is a shocking horrifying report !!!!!
https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/world-news/war/britain-head-of-military-tells-troops-prepare-for-wwiii/
A curious math question. If Russia is firing 50 to 70 thousand artillery shells a day at AFU forces, why is casualty rates reports from a low of 100 to a high of 300 per day. Surely these are modern HE shells shot from lat eat Russian howitzers with excellent intelligence from Satellite, drone, complete air superiority, HUMIT from local friendlies etc. Are the Ukraine/NATO fortifications that good. I would think high caliber shells should have at least a 5 to 1 kill rate in modern combat.
One thing is for sure : the Russians are going to have to replace all the tubes on their artillery. Such things only last a finite time.
To quote Jackie Gleason, “How sweet it is!”
ANNA NEWS

Older than Edda
I was surprised to read in some channels that the second phase of the operation, namely the general battle for the Donbass, ended (and with a draw).
The spring-summer general battle for the Donbass has not only not ended, it has not even reached its climax yet (it’s stupid to write about the result yet). The offensive of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has not run out of steam, it continues, and the pace is not slowing down. Yes, it may not be the fastest and there are certainly problems, but if we touch on the Izyum Front, then the 20th, 35th and 29th armies passed through the forests in the south of the Kharkov region and the battles are taking place on the territory of the DPR.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying in every possible way to prevent the advance of Russian troops and create a threat on the right flank, acting on the Balakleya-Chapel line. Enemy artillery is working from there (mainly from forests), DRGs are trying to seep through the Seversky Donets. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively pulling up reserves, including newly formed units and subunits, such as, for example, the 4th Tank Brigade, created only in March. Artillery is very active.
Naturally, Russian artillery strikes an order of magnitude stronger and on some days simply crushing blows from cannon and rocket artillery are inflicted on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as full packages of TOS fly at Ukrainian gangs, and we also do not forget about the actions of our aviation and missile divisions.
At the moment, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (despite very heavy losses) do not yet have big problems with the number of personnel. The mobilization funnel draws in a sufficient amount of cannon fodder, the question is the quality of the material. Old and young (from 18 to 60 years old) soldiers arrive at the front and instantly fall under the really terrible fire raids of the RF Armed Forces. Because of this, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have a very large percentage of both refuseniks and commissioned VVKs for medical reasons.
So, as I said at the beginning of the post, it is still extremely premature to evaluate the results of the General Battle for Donbass. Especially considering that the battle itself does not take place in a vacuum, it is associated with hostilities on the entire huge front from the north of the Kharkov region to Nikolaev. Moreover, the outcome of the battle will not even determine at what point it will stop, but the amount of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed during the battle. At the moment, its destruction (in my subjective opinion) is proceeding according to the schedule.

Phase 2 should end late June – mid July. Phase 3 (Liberation of Odessa?) might begin 4-6 weeks later
I would recommend that everyone listens to Military Summary Channel for end yesterday. He makes some interesting comments on specifically Russia aiming for decision platforms and also on Belarus.
There is another piece of information. Apparently, Lithuania is backing off after Russia reacted.
https://t.me/russianhead/4400
I don’t know that this is the best source .. I use it because of the map showing the Suvalsky gap.
This may have been a hare-brained effort to get Lithuania attacked to generate Article 5, in order to expand war. Whenever Boris visits Kiev, hell is unleashed.. But you are right, it appears Russia’s response is causing panicked walkbacks..
https://www.tellerreport.com/news/2022-06-20-senator-klimov–the-blockade-of-kaliningrad-by-lithuania-can-be-regarded-as-direct-aggression.SJ8s_2j6Fc.html
The head of the Russian Federation Commission for the Protection of Sovereignty Klimov said, “The UN needs to rectify the situation with the blockade of Kaliningrad, or Russia will be free to resolve the issue of transit in any way.”
These was a declaration similar to December Ultimatum before start of SMO. Historically and legally, a strict conditionality of (1) allowing the delineation of the Lithuanian-Russian border, and (2) permitting its accession to EU, was unimpeded land cargo transit through the Suwalki Gap… the foolish reneging of this conditionality has put Lithuanian sovereignty, even existence, on the table (like in the Ukraine) and the permanent takeover of the Suwalki Gap. They wanted to cut off K-Grad from Russia, but it may result in the Balts being cut off in a cul-de-sac. Interesting times
Allied forces made a severe mistake not counteracting the nazi formations in Avdiivka and the surroundings before expanding the war in Donbass. The nazis are now making a show of how vulnerable people are in Donetsk, Horlivka, and surrounding areas, finding themselves defenseless to the massive and constant shelling unleashed on the civilian population.
This is worse than the PSYOPS information war on Russia.
The effect on the people in Donetsk is demoralizing. They cannot understand how the mighty Russian army and LDNR cannot stop the carnage raining on them 24/7. I understand DPR/Pushilin have requested additional resources from Russia, who knows what that consists of. IMHO, a combined special operations group Russia/DPR should be created, focused on the Avdiivka file, working day and night until any and all long range rockets/artillery are eliminated, along with the terrorists.
Some posters yesterday commented the killings of 50 AFU top brass was a revenge for the killing of civilians in Donetsk and surroundings. Well, civilians in the affected areas couldn’t care less if the entire General Staff of the Ukrainian army gets killed in revenge, if they continue suffering. Watch the video from Grisha Filipps, posted on Military Chronicle, and see the terror civilians are experiencing. You can hear Grisha sobbing in the background after seeing a car parked on pools of blood.
https://voenhronika.ru/publ/vojna_na_ukraine/razvedka_juvo_pojmala_pturshikov_vsu_ehto_ty_po_nashim_tankam_streljal_che_ty_pi_suka_zhest_s_donbassa_utro_20_ijunja_20_video/60-1-0-12396
In Donetsk, the atmosphere is gloomy now, the atmosphere is like in August 14. Shooting of the respected Grisha Filipps:
—————————-
The terror on Donetsk has to stop, even if Avdiivka and surroundings gets razed to the ground.
Civilians are suffering on both locations, and in war there are no easy choices. So far, Allied forces have restrained their attacks on Avdiivka given the nazis’ fortified positions between civilians, and the potential anti-Russian propaganda Ukraine will unleash if Russia gets the nazis bombed to smithereens. Also, the potential danger of a chemical explosion from the plant the nazis occupy and have been using to blackmail the Allies, and to terrorize Donetsk with impunity. Allied bombing could ignite an explosion or, once the nazis see themselves cornered à la Mariupol, they could “sacrifice” themselves in a “Glory to Ukraine” massive blast that would condemn Donbass to toxic waste.
A solution has to be found to the plight of civilians in Donetsk, and it has the urgency of now.
Lone Wolf
The most disgusting thing is the latest artillery from USA and France are being used for terrorist purposes. The question remains, is why isn’t more being done to stop the shipment of these items to Avdiivka? Why aren’t tunnels being destroyed?
@ Russian Bear
Thank you for pointing that out, I missed that important aspect of the shelling, and I fully agree with you on the pertinent questions.
Impossible to know what is really happening behind the curtains, what provisions are being taken that we, armchair generals cannot see from here. And we are not Military Summary with access to an oracle that tells them the future.

Avdeevka could be encircled from west, pushing towards north the front around Velika Novosilka, that is the southern Donbass pincer. This was the front with the best achievements in phase I, now it is totally static. Is there an explanation of why they are not even trying?
Extremely dramatic situation. Yes, every war is dramatic. And life itself is tragic.
As I posted here earlier:《 For Russia, in turn, a hard and unpostponable reckoning with its ghosts of the past is also underway.》
With each new bombardment the specter of the Minsk Accords returns to terrorize Donetsk.
In the midst of this repeated agony, how can a prisoner exchange spark such strife? Prisoners are made to be used in exchanges, even if they are neo-Nazi war criminals.
It is not a moral issue. There is no morality at all in war.
Still, for those who fight for principles, and precisely because of this, Ethics always imposes itself as the definitive option.
In a 5th generation war, the line of contact is everywhere, because the definitive battle takes place in our hearts and minds.
In this sense, Communication is a decisive weapon. Is there a Ethic of Communication?
Poor Communication is guaranteed defeat in the battle for hearts and minds.
How many neo-Nazi prisoners are worth the life of a single person fighting for the emancipation of his People and Territory? None!
How many allied soldiers are worth the life of a single inhabitant of Donetsk? All of them!
Here, in front of us all, are the treacherous waters of an almost unsurpassed river. Is there another shore? We will only know when we make the effort to cross it.
This is the Ethics that must move us.

Vladimir Putin:
“Even during the special operation, we must not turn the liberated territories into a semblance of Stalingrad.” -dailystar.co.uk
This quote and so many like it from the Western media during the SMO have shown a lot about how the Western – certainly the U.S. – media works. The U.S. media may be the worst media I know, but it is capable of excellence. It’s not “all bad”, “all lies.” It is not owned or fully controlled by special/intelligence services. “Why not if they could?” someone might say. It must be because people answer, “No, we are a newspaper” (pure and simple). Although biased and wrong too often, the SMO coverage from the mainstream news (MSN) has been their finest hour. Like I think never before, the Western public has had access to direct pronouncements from Russian leaders that only a good measure of independence and media standards can allow. Whatever Putin says is covered now; he wrote once a column in the NYT to gain access to the U.S. elites and public. Now he only needs to speak. This shows that whatever may be lacking, Western media remains an independent media and we have seen this in both print and TV media, and doubtlessly will continue to see it (can’t be otherwise, “you are what you are”). Those who made a mistake on this should open their minds to a more complex reality (“life is complex”, after all).
The CNN news about America being estimated to have hypersonic weapons in only five to ten years is not something a “controlled” media would say: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHa6acUdHLg
The NYT coverage of Putin’s St. Petersburg speech was top-notch and with no bias discernible. It reminded one of the old NYT (founded in 1851). Their representative in Moscow was the coauthor of the article. To the few who have insisted that the NYT is all propaganda, lies, and bias, try pointing to a single example of that in this article:
“Putin denounces the U.S. as a fading world power.”

@ tranquilocomp
A shameless defense of the MSM presstitutes.
They are the ones condemning thousands of men, women, and children in Ukraine to suffer the results of a war they have been pushing through their lies and deceit. They are the ones who have sold the delusion to the US/Eurostan/et al masses that Ukraine has been winning a war they started losing the day Russia crossed the border. The US/UK/German/French/Eurostan MSM presstitutes are writing their lies with red ink from Ukrainian and Russian blood.
Everyone knows the WaPo/NYT/WaTi/ChTri/LATi/CNN and all major media channels are used by US intel to promote the lies useful for them to keep the masses ignorant and stupid. They are paid by the MIC and the political establishment to promote wars and to keep them going for decades, useless wars like Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya. This has been the case for decades, this is not news at all.
At least now you’re out for everyone to see.
You’re just one of them.

I provided two examples that show it’s not all black or white, that it’s “complex.” There is nothing like what you describe in the linked examples.
Also, it’s not just you who has to like comments, nor does everyone have to refuse reading mere information. There is a path to becoming narrowminded and that is by reflexively rejecting things without any objectivity or consideration of examples, which is what you did here (again). This is why I never read your comments, by the way, other than if you write to me.

Operation Z: Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring
‼️🇬🇧The Russian army has accumulated a huge amount of forces and equipment and went on a large-scale offensive, – Gauleiter of the Luhansk region
The situation in Severodonetsk is “hardest”, the city itself is under the control of the Russian Federation, the fighting is already going on in the industrial zone, he said.
“The Russian army has accumulated a sufficient number of reserves and brought up a” huge amount “of equipment in order to launch a large-scale offensive,” said the head of the occupation Kyiv regional military administration.
All settlements along the Lisichansk-Bakhmut highway are under attack, “there is an offensive of the Russian army.”

They had opportunity to resupply and re-organize. It is to be hoped that the Ukrainians will be as ineffective as they have been to date. A summer offensive might really push the Ukraine Army back out of artillery range and get the people of the Don Basin some well deserved peace and quiet.

any news regard ukr. bombing of russian drilling platform south of Odessa… ???
He has an interesting take on the platform attack, where the Russians may have spoofed the Ukies, they fired at the platform and revealed their positions…..because shortly after that RF lit up that area, hit the Byktar ground control centre and some UAVs.

I don’t know who deputy Sheremet is, but in the fight for hype, sometimes you need to turn your head on.
That is, the shelling of the Belgorod and Kursk regions, the death of civilians is not a reason for attacks on “decision-making centers.”
The shooting of Donetsk, the transformation of Donbass into scorched earth also does not lend itself to such a decision.
And hitting the towers is just right.
In this case, I had exactly one question – how did it happen that there were people there at all, in the fourth month of the war?
Maybe deputy Sheremet, who, by the way, represents the inhabitants of Crimea, will explain how Chernomorneftegaz, a state organization belonging to the Government of Crimea, continued to work towers, exposing personnel to mortal danger?
What kind of frenzied business is this on people’s lives?
Who is personally responsible for the decision to continue work, sending workers there, in conditions of war, when it is impossible to guarantee life and safety.
This is what Deputy Sheremet would have thought about.
It is likely that there were also Crimeans, whom he represents in the State Duma.
Why once again, in some incomprehensible way, in the confrontation between money and power, money wins?
I fully admit that another contract was the basis for the work of the towers, but how can you negotiate with cheaters who have never, I emphasize, have never missed an opportunity to cheat on the Russians?
The entire modern history of relations with Ukraine is an incomprehensible story of how the Ukrainian side scammed Moscow with commendable constancy.
And continues to do so now. The story of the Taira exchange is the clearest illustration.
Why not throw if the money is on hand?
Something similar, quite likely, happened now, once again.
I really hope that the Prosecutor General’s Office will be interested in this story.

Thanks for the news, that was expected. I have been watching videos with military trains full of materiel heading for the Donbass, this was the reason for it, and their final destination. The entire line has been on fire, more or less, for the last two weeks. This might be the final push for the “Anaconda Loop” that will encircle Severodonetsk/Lisichansk once and for all.
A while ago, using shamelessly pro-nazi LiveMap (https://liveuamap.com/), I pointed out to a “finger” developing in the direction of Lisichansk, between Vrobivka and Bobrove, and predicted the finger was going to get “thicker.” The map doesn’t do honor to the advances of the Allied forces, Vrobivka has been taken, though it appears “in dispute” at the map, same with Komyshuvakha and other locations. Fighting is going on around Ustynivka, and from there to Lisichansk is a stone throw.
Yet another finger has now appeared, heading WSW out of Novotoshkivske, an encircling movement toward the “golden” area of Zolote. Ukraine lost control over the Bakhmut/Lisichansk road, Allied forces already crossed it in Belohorivka, Berestove appears to be still in dispute, regardless, the Allies have control by fire on the entire road, and the route Bakhmut, Silversk, Lisichansk, the alternative route to supply the Severodonetsk/Lisichansk loop, is already under fire by the Allies.
There are at least three potential cauldrons in waiting, choose your size. Size “S,” Zolote, “M,” Severodonetsk/Lisichansk, and “L,” Vrubivka/Bilohorivka.
The general offensive means Allied forces do not expect any more cannon fodder to be pushed into the cauldrons, Military Chronicle reported today that,
https://voenhronika.ru/publ/vojna_na_ukraine/genshtab_vsu_v_otchajanii_severodoneckaja_udavka_pozhiraet_vse_rezervy_vsu_zhest_video_s_ukrainy_vecher_20_ijunja_19_video/60-1-0-12401
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is desperate: “SEVERODONETSK NOOSE” devours all the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Tin VIDEO from Ukraine – evening of June 20 (19 video)
“Every day the Armed Forces of Ukraine keep the front in the “Severodonetsk loop” becomes more difficult and ineffective, the Russian army uses artillery / MLRS and aviation to destroy the best units of the Ukrainian army. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are forced to transfer military special forces and heavy equipment from the southern directions in order to hold the situation, and not to organize a counteroffensive…”
———————————————————————————————————————-
The “Anaconda Loop” is about to be closed, Allied forces will increase the heat on the boilers, pain-dial will go up several notches.
This is a decisive week for the Donbass and for the SMO.

PS: Ukraine’s attacks on the periphery of Battlefield Ukraine, as “spectacular” as they can get, are all for the West’s Useful Idiots consumption. Don’t waste your time on that.

Military expert Boris Rozhin with a brief summary of the results of the operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine as of 23.10 June 20, 2022, specially for the Voenkor Kotenok Z @voenkorKotenok channel :
1.
Severodonetsk.
Fighting in the industrial area around the Azot plant. The main enemy forces are actually blocked and do not have a full opportunity to retreat. The RF Armed Forces are systematically completing the operational encirclement of the grouping. There are isolated cases of surrender. Hostages are still being held at the plant itself. Completely cleared Metelkino.
2.
Golden.
After the occupation of Chekhirovo and breaking into the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Toshkovka, our troops launched an offensive against Belaya Gora and Mirnaya Dolina.
There are also battles in the direction of Nikolayevka and Rai-Aleksandrovka. The grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Gorsky and Zolote is actually in the operational environment. The only accessible road through Ray-Aleksandrovka is completely shot through.
3.
Soledar.
Heavy fighting for Belogorovka and Berestovoe. The Artemovsk-Lysichansk road is blocked. In the event that the enemy loses Nikolaevka, the issue of moving to the Lisichansk Oil Refinery will be resolved.
4.
Artemovsk.
Fighting in the area of Semigorye and Vershina. There are battles for Klinovoe. The enemy expects to defend himself along the Pokrovskoye-Klinovoye-Zaitsevo line. The development of the offensive from the southeast is holding back the unresolved issue with the Uglegorsk TPP.
5.
Slavyansk.
Fighting in the area of Bogorodichny, Dolina, Krasnopolye, Prishib and Tatyanovka.
6.
Raisins.
Battles at Bolshaya Kamyshevakha and Kurulka. The flank activity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had no success. The enemy expects an offensive to the Barvenkovo-Slavyansk highway.
7.
Kharkov.
The enemy has abandoned attempts to recapture Ternovoe and Rubezhnoye and is preparing for the defense of Stary Saltov. Fights are expected for the Great Passages, Tsupovka and Dementyevka.
The offensive announced earlier by the RF Armed Forces has not yet begun.
8.
Avdiivka.
No significant changes. Fights near Kamenka, Novobakhmutovka and New York. There is no progress to Krasnogorovka yet. The counter-battery work of the RF Armed Forces is intensifying. The enemy continues to intensively shell Donetsk, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya and other settlements.
9.
Odessa.
The enemy made an unsuccessful attack on Zmeinny Island, and also attacked the Chernomorneftegaz platforms, destroying one of them.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation during the day delivered massive strikes in the Odessa region on the military infrastructure. More is expected in the coming days.
10.
Nikolaev.
Positional battles in the Krivoy Rog direction.
In the Nikolaev direction, there are no significant changes, the transition to the control of the Russian Armed Forces of the village of Pravdino is noted.
11.
Marinka, Zaporozhye, Vuhledar – no change.

Nikolaevka (Mykolaivka in Google maps and LiveMap) needs to be evacuated rather soon, before getting caught in the north/south pincers coming from Bilohorivka and Vrubivka. The Lisichansk Oil Refinery is about half way between the two pincers, and once taken, it will block any movements to the north or south of it, to and fro the Severodonetsk/Lisichansk cauldron.
That will seal the cauldron for good.
My best guess there is a race between the north and south pincers to get to the Oil Refinery.
Nikolaevka is just an obstacle on the way.
The southern pincer coming from Vrubivka has been moving rather fast.
Let’s hope for the best…

UkroWehrmacht has to put up a show for the Western “sponsors” they are using all the junk the West is dumping on them. Problem is, the new weapons are getting destroyed at a faster rate that they come in.
From “Military Chronicle,”
https://voenhronika.ru/publ/vojna_na_ukraine/u_soldat_vsu_isterika_nikto_ne_khochet_voevat_za_severodoneck_i_lisichansk_unichtozheno_15_gaubic_iz_ssha_video_21_ijunja_12_video/60-1-0-12407
“…Over the past day, 15 American 155-mm howitzers M-777 were destroyed, most of which were in the area of the Druzhkovka railway station, without having time to make a single shot…”
The attacks on Snake Island and the oil rig are part of the show, though the oil rig attack could have caused unprecedented ecological damage to the Black Sea, similar to the damage caused by the explosion of the oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.
https://voenhronika.ru/publ/vojna_na_ukraine/genshtab_vsu_v_otchajanii_severodoneckaja_udavka_pozhiraet_vse_rezervy_vsu_zhest_video_s_ukrainy_vecher_20_ijunja_19_video/60-1-0-12401
“…According to the current situation on the island of Snake, which is attacked from the early morning. A comrade, a naval officer, wrote briefly: “Hello. Snake stands. We have no losses. Arrivals on the island did not reach. We took into account the mistakes…”
———————————————-
Unable to mount an offensive to regain lost positions, or to retake the strategic initiative, UkroWehrmacht has been reduced to launch opportunity coup blows with great propaganda value, or to attack civilian targets, as in the case of the oil rig. That is to show the criminal West they are earning the billions dumped on them, while the corrupt Ukraine regime does not pay wages to their soldiers, mercenaries are complaining about the lack of basic materiel, Zelensky’s mafia is pocketing the money and fattening their offshore accounts.

What happened yesterday at Serpentine. Details.
The plan of the operation of the Kyiv regime provided for the infliction of massive air and artillery strikes on ZMEINYIY Island, followed by a landing and its capture.
More than 15 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in strike and reconnaissance performance were involved in the air raid, which were guided by two unmanned aerial vehicles Bayraktar TB-2.
In addition, in the airspace in the area of ZMEINYIY Island, Russian means detected a strategic reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle of the US Air Force “Global Hawk” RQ-4 at high altitudes.
The anti-aircraft cover of the Ukrainian UAVs was provided by S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems from combat positions in the TUZLA and OCHAKOVA areas.
Rocket and artillery strikes on SNAKE Island were carried out by Ukrainian Tochka-U ballistic missiles, Uragan multiple launch rocket systems and
M-777 155-mm howitzers from firing positions west of ODESSA and on KUBANSKY Island.
Russian air defense systems: the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun system and the Tor anti-aircraft missile system, destroyed all enemy weapons fired at ZMEINYIY Island.
Shot down in the air: 13 unmanned aerial vehicles, four Tochka-U missiles and 21 Uragan multiple rocket launchers. None of the Ukrainian fire weapons reached the target on Zmeiny Island.
The failed fire defeat forced the enemy to abandon the landing on SNAKE Island.

Good news.
Gorsko-Zolotoy cauldron is almost ready.
Our troops have taken Peaceful Valley. The information has already been confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Between the troops advancing from Vrubovka and Mirnaya Dolina, only Paradise-Aleksandrovka remained, through which the last road leading to Gorskoye passes. But this road is already under full fire control of the RF Armed Forces.
Accordingly, the operational environment of the Gorsko-Zoloto group (up to 2,500 soldiers and officers) is rapidly turning into a cauldron.
The enemy also admitted that the RF Armed Forces had already entrenched themselves in Ustinovka and achieved success at Belaya Gora, advancing towards Lisichansk.
APU DISASTER: The Zolote-Gorskoye boiler has completely shut down! The first videos from the epicenter of the fighting – the evening of June 21
https://voenhronika.ru/publ/vojna_na_ukraine/srochno_katastrofa_vsu_kotel_zolotoe_gorskoe_polnostju_zakhlopnulsja_pervye_video_iz_ehpicentra_boev_vecher_21_ijunja_15_video/60-1-0-12408
The South Urals warriors of the 90th TD from the glorious city of Chebarkul took the Peaceful Valley! Urgent messages have just come in that ours are already in Podlesnoye and Mirnaya Dolina very close to the southern part of Lisichansk. The next node of defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is already being stormed, is Ray-Aleksandrovka. Moreover, in the morning selection , a video was published of three Russian tanks moving out of Toshkovka towards Podlesnoye – Ray-Aleksandrovka.
Now there is the last road connecting the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Gorskoye-Zolotoye section with the main grouping of Ukrainian forces. It is likely that now the “boiler” is completely closed. Accordingly, the operational environment of the Gorsko-Zoloto group (up to 2,500 soldiers and officers) is rapidly turning into a cauldron.
The 24th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, consisting of four battalions, is practically surrounded. The rapid breakthrough for the current day in the morning raised the question of strengthening positions or withdrawing to the area of the village of Gorskoye before the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Did not have time…
To the north along the Seversky Donets from Ustinovka, our troops advanced 2 kilometers to Belaya Gora – this is almost Lisichansk. Enemy resistance was minimal. Part of the enemy forces retreated to Lisichansk, part to Bakhmut, where they are preparing for defense. The advanced positions of PMC “Wagner” on the evening of June 21 were already 5 km from Bakhmut – there is information that Klinovoe east of Bakhmut is already ours.
Today, in the sky over the village of Pervomayskoye, Mykolaiv region, a Su-25 of the Ukrainian Air Force was shot down. Since the beginning of the month, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already lost the fifth military aircraft in the Kherson direction.
Ukraine says it attacked Serpents’ Island again today and was able to inflict damage on Russian forces on the island. No evidence is provided for these statements. Also near Odessa, a British helmet was thrown onto the beach. Presumably, it belonged to one of the unlucky paratroopers who attacked Serpentine in May. According to information from the military from the island, the corpses of Ukrainian paratroopers and various things belonging to them floated around the island for a couple of weeks after the fighting. In Ukraine, propaganda did not take long to figure it out and passed off the British helmet as a Russian one.
@ Russian Bear
Let’s not throw the hats yet.
The report, though celebratory, doesn’t give a definitive affirmation the cauldron has closed.
https://voenhronika.ru/publ/vojna_na_ukraine/srochno_katastrofa_vsu_kotel_zolotoe_gorskoe_polnostju_zakhlopnulsja_pervye_video_iz_ehpicentra_boev_vecher_21_ijunja_15_video/60-1-0-12408
“…It is likely that now the “boiler” is completely closed. Accordingly, the operational environment of the Mountain-Gold group (up to 2,500 soldiers and officers) is rapidly turning into a cauldron…”
——————————————————————-
“It is likely…” is not the same as “it is done.”
It is close, sure.
I observed last night the southern pincer is moving faster than the northern one.
Zolote/Gorskoe is flat land, the northern pincer has a heavily wooden area to the west of Bilohorivka, clearing that up is going to take more time. Hopefully UkroWerhmacht will abandon Nikolaevka, the path will be clear toward the Lisichansk Oil Refinery, the “Anaconda loop” will be complete, head facing tail.
Cheers…

Military expert Boris Rozhin with a brief summary of the results of the operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine at 23.59 June 21, 2022, specially for the Voenkor Kotenok Z @voenkorKotenok channel :
1.
Severodonetsk.
The enemy is blocked at the Azot plant. There is no assault on Azot, some civilians leave the territory of the enterprise.
There are isolated cases of surrender. The enemy cannot withdraw from Azot, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have no opportunity to fully release Azot.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the army of the LPR are waiting for the group advancing from Vrubovka and Toshkovka to come to Lisichansk. The roads to Lisichansk are under constant fire.
2.
Golden.
Today, the operational encirclement of the enemy grouping in Gorskoye and Zolote took shape. Our troops took Mirnaya Dolina, entered Podlesnoye, and also advanced from Ustinovka to Belaya Gora. Enemy resistance sharply weakened, part of the forces retreated to Lisichansk, part to Artemovsk. The only road to Gorskoye through Ray-Alexandrovka is under full fire control of the RF Armed Forces. The operational environment turns into a cauldron.
3.
Artemovsk.
The enemy is putting up serious resistance in the area of Pokrovsky and Klinovoe. Today, our troops have already been fighting street battles in Klinovoe. The forward positions of our troops are located 5 km from Artemovsk. But it won’t be easy to take it.
4.
Soledar.
Heavy fighting for Berestovoye and Belogorovka. Our troops have clung to the villages, but it is still far from complete mopping up, since the enemy has transferred reserves here and is actively working with artillery. In turn, the enemy’s attempts to regain control over the Artemovsk-Lysichansk highway were unsuccessful. Moreover, the potential loss of Nikolaevka will further complicate the situation of the Severodonetsk grouping.
5.
Avdiivka.
Intense counter-battery struggle continued. The enemy continued to shell Donetsk and other settlements. The battles near Novobakhmutovka and New York did not bring any major changes.
6.
Carbon.
The enemy, after several days of fighting, again tried to attack Pavlovka and started fighting in the area of the village and on its outskirts.
There are no significant changes in Marinka and Velikaya Novoselovka, as, indeed, on the Kamenskoye-Orekhov-Gulyaipole-Velikaya Novoseloveka line, where positional battles continue.
7.
Slavyansk.
Fighting in the area of Prishib, Dolyna, Krasnopolye and Bogorodichny. It is expected that the fighting will soon move to Sidorovo and further to Mayaky.
8.
Raisins.
Battles at Velikaya Kamyshevakha and Kurulka. The enemy shells Balakleya and conducts reconnaissance in force, probing the possibility of straining the flanks of the Izyum grouping.
9.
Kharkov.
The enemy went on the defensive in most areas, abandoning intensive attempts to regain lost positions near Rubezhnoye, Ternovoye and Verkhny Saltov.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are conducting an artillery offensive and have sharply intensified attacks on Kharkov and Chuguev, as well as on the area of Uda and Zolochev.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are strengthening the defense in the villages on the outskirts of Kharkov in anticipation of the advance of Russian troops.
10.
Nikolaev.
The enemy continued to attempt to attack in the Snegirevka area, and also claims to be moving towards Kiselevka in the direction of Kherson and tactical successes in this direction. On the Nikopol direction without changes.
11.
Odessa.
The enemy again attempted strikes against Zmeiny Island today. Satellite images show at least 1 hit on some object on the island.
The results of the retaliatory actions of the RF Armed Forces are still unknown.
The attempt on June 20 cost the Armed Forces dearly, but the enemy continues to probe for the possibility of attacking Serpentine despite the losses.

For those who might not know him, Patrick J. Buchanan was the Communications Director of Ronald Reagan and had been a special assistant to pres. Richard Nixon. I think his heyday as a columnist was in the 1980s when he worked also on CNN (“Crossfire” show). He authored many books. He wrote a column the day after Putin’s SMO began. Two quotes from it:
“When Putin warns that he will do something, he does it.”
“President Joe Biden almost hourly promises, ‘We are not going to war in Ukraine.’ Why would he then not readily rule out NATO membership for Ukraine, which would require us to do something Biden himself says we Americans, for our own survival, should never do: go to war with Russia?”

Why is Lithuania “asking for it”? It is clear already that Russia does not believe in, or care for, “Article 5.” It’s hard to believe, anyway, that something signed in the 1940s because of “communism”, will really protect Lithuania today. Putin said the leaders of the West will soon be replaced, so he thinks they are weak and incompetent, or useless. And even if Lithuania were to receive the supposed protection, it would really be too late, no? The British guarantees never really helped Poland in the end; Germany was too close to Poland. It’s understandable if Britain did not even remember the guarantees in the midst of its tremendous war against Germany. Who was going to be remembering “the guarantees” during The Battle of Britain, or applying them during Germany’s sweeping invasion of Poland? I think Poland tried, but not for long.
When in history has a little country like Lithuania bossed around a superpower like Russia, even when the superpower was at war with another “aggressive” neighbor? I read Lithuania says that it is fulfilling its European Union commitments… but is that “good”?

Bad day to be Ukrainian or a Pole merc, or, as the Russians are saying, Reg Polish Army sent to reinforce Ukrainians in the Donbas. Never made it.

I’d qualify that, and say, bad times to be on the opposite side to the Russians. The destruction of manpower and war materiel is systematic, relentless, constant, and permanent. There is no let up. The response to the UkroWerhmacht for the attack on the oil rig was devastating. No doubt the pain-dial has gone several notches up, noticeable on the faces and statements of the Ukrainian war prisoners.
It is sheer terror.
It is painful to see the suffering the Ukrainian people is undergoing thanks to the policies of a corrupt elite, crooked oligarchs, people users, condemning Ukrainians and Ukraine to a war that was unnecessary, a human tragedy of staggering proportions that could have been avoided. The fate of the Ukrainian people was sealed with the breakup of the Soviet Union, the aftermath went downhill.
The seed for the current war was sawn at Maidan.
Billions of dollars were poured on Ukraine to turn it into a neo-nazi state, with the acquiescence and blessings of Eurostan. Now we are witnessing the results of that investment. The recent history of Ukraine reminds us of Aesop fable of the frog and the ox.
A frog inflates itself bragging he can be as big as an ox or bull. Too big, too bad. Pop.
Conceit may lead to self-destruction.

The US made Ukraine believe they could get back the Donbass, and become a wedge for the West against Russia, with sufficient training and weapons. For eight years they prepared, we have seen their steel and concrete fortifications, underground networks and pillboxes. Nazi ideology was the “air” that inflated them, and that ultimately caused their demise.
Now Ukraine’s future is in the hands of Russia, on one hand, and of the West, up to a point. As Ukraine loses the war, the West loses leverage to influence events in Ukraine. We see them now in a sort of bipolar conundrum, asking clown Zelinsky to consider negotiations, while feeding Ukraine with all the junk they can gather under the sun “to win the war against Russia.”
The West lives in a schizoid perpetual paranoia.
Ukraine’s war is a projection of the West’s sickness of the soul.
