Historically, Russia’s big wheels turn slowly, almost invisible to the naked eye, but they do turn and grind anything getting between them into fine dust. On November 24th something extraordinary has happened, the big wheels of Russian bureaucracy moved with a pace of an Olympic sprinter banned by IAAF. Keeping fingers crossed, maybe we witness a new age of the Russian statehood, when things that need to be done get done immediately, if not sooner.
For the Turkey shooting down the Russian SU-24 on Syrian territory SITREP please read the following:
Russian President Vladimir Putin called the incident “a stab in the back delivered by accomplices of the terrorists,” and warned it would not go unanswered: [source]
The West immediately and predictably placed blame for Turkey’s attack on Russia itself. After Turkey shoots down the Russian bomber that was conducting an operation against terrorists groups, the European and American tabloids called it “Russian aggression.” Britain’s foreign secretary, Philip Hammond, has accused a Labour MP of being an “apologist for Russian actions” after questions were raised in Parliament about Turkey’s reliability as a British ally, etc, etc.
Turkey
We will shoot down more Russian planes, because it’s self-defense
If Russia shoots down our plane over Syria, it’s an aggression
It’s Assad who sells oil with ISIS, not Turkey.
Russia has to keep economic ties with Turkey, because Putin is the “murderer” of our ISIS brothers.
Hakan Fidan, the head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization, (MIT), in a statement, apparently fabricated by someone else, said that ISIS is a reality, and they ask the international community to legalize it and to establish the ISIS consulate in Constantinople, so it will be easer for them to recruit new fighters.
Erdoğan warns Russia not to ‘play with fire’
Repost from todayszaman.com
Have Turkish “security forces” just joined the Islamic State?
Why did Turkey shoot down a Russian Air Force jet?….Krasukha-4
“Turkey is so militarily inferior to Russia that it is unlikely Turkey would commit an act of war against Russia without encouragement from Washington. We might think that Turkey would feel shielded by NATO, but it is doubtful that many European members of NATO would risk nuclear annihilation by going to war with Russia in order to save Turkey from the consequences of an act as reckless and irresponsible as shooting down a Russian military aircraft and proceeding to lie about it. Turkey has issued no apology and no believable explanation. Unless Erdogan has lost his mind, Washington is behind the shooting, and the reason is Washington’s desperation to decode the new Russian technology that gives Russian forces total control over a battlefield, whether on land, sea, or air.”
The British
We play a small but important role in this conflict; someone has to make sure that when the ISIS is driven out of Syria (by the Russians and the Syrian Army) a transitional government if formed without Assad, the Syrian Army and the Russians. We, the British, will form this transitional government with the Syrian opposition that currently fights alongside with ISIS. Right now we just want to bring as much harm to the Russians and the Syrian Army as possible.
Not to be outdone by the West in hubris, doublespeak and hypocrisy, the Turkish officials went on the record by delivering a series of self-righteous and delusional statements. You almost can hear their militant wives urging them, “go, tell these Russkiis what you think about them!” These militant Turkish women even took it to the streets, carrying the defaced portraits of the Russian president made by the British tabloids in 2014 at the time of MH17 downing by the Ukrainians. The same freshly printed blown up portraits showing Putin with blood coming out of his mouth and words “murderer” this time in Turkish language.
If you don’t know what had happened, you would think it was the Russians, who shot down the Turkish jet, not the other way around.
The Turks killed out servicemen and they called us murderers for killing their brothers in ISIS.
The following day, without expressing any regret or apology, Turkey’s new Energy Minister Berat Albayrak said “jet incident won’t affect energy ties with Russia.”
“In the heat of the moment, without all the information, it would be wrong to make unguarded statements,” Albayrak said at his swearing-in ceremony in Ankara. “We have close friendly cultural and economic relations with Russia not only in energy, but also across other economic sectors. I am not pessimistic about our energy relations.”
The minister assured the Turkish people that they should not fear the coming winter due to concerns that Russia could halt economic cooperation.
Why is the Turkish minister so convinced that the Russian government would ignore the attack on its military and the threats of future attacks, and continue to provide Turkey with the comfortable level of energy and the same steep discount that was agreed upon assuming that Turkey was an ally of Russia? Why would 5 million Russia tourists keep coming to Turkish resorts that were built for them and spend $10 billions per year? Why would the Russian government hire Turkish construction companies for multibillion dollars projects? Why would people tolerate the Turkish markets in the hearts of Russian cities?
The answer might just be Ukraine. After Maidan, Turkey developed very close relations with the Kiev junta, including having their trained militant groups fighting with Russians in Donbass, and also aiding and abetting to the group of noisy beggars that call themselves “fighters for freedom of the Crimean Tatars.” Who are, by the way, terrorists by the definition of the US Department of Homeland Security. They destroyed civilian infrastructure that affected the lives and safety of million of people and made threats to damage more, like to cut the electric cable being pulled over the Kerch Strait to Crimea.
Ukraine is the reason why Turkey attacks Russia’s military and believes that it won’t change anything in the economic relation with Russia. After all, up until recently, Russia’s government had been forgiving of the Ukrainians for all kind of threatening, abusing, insulting, even murderous behavior.
If Ukraine can do it, why can’t Turkey?
I can name a couple of reasons, one being that the Ukrainians are our brothers and we still hope that after a brief period of Western-manufactured nationalism and extremist insanity, they will return to mother Russia’s warm and nurturing bosom. And of course the fact that for the past 500 years there were at least 13 wars, including World War I, between Turkey, Ottoman Empire, and Russia. Of course, one might say that the most of those wars were facilitated by the British Empire and the French Republic in their quenchless quest to pillage the Middle East and to destabilize the Russian Caucasus. Someone had to pay for Versailles, Louvre and adventures in the Americas.
The Russian response
Following the Turkish attack, on November 24th, writing on Twitter Alexei Pushkov, the head of the Russian parliament’s international relations committee, said: “Ankara clearly did not weigh the consequences of its hostile acts for Turkey’s interests and economy. The consequences will be very serious.”
NUMBERS:
Turkey relies on Russia for almost 65 percent of its energy imports. In 2010, the two countries signed an agreement under which Russia’s Rosatom will construct Turkey’s first nuclear power station at Akkuyu.
Russian gas makes up for about 43 percent of the Turkish market. Last year, Russia supplied 27.4 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to the country, primarily through the Blue Stream pipeline that passes across the Black Sea. The two countries agreed to increase the supplies of the Russian gas to 30 billion bcm due to Turkey’s growing energy demand, especially in the winter months.
The consequences that Pushkov mentioned have materialized immediately.
November 28th, 2015 – Executive Order on measures to ensure Russia’s national security and protection of Russian citizens against criminal and other illegal acts and on the application of special economic measures against Turkey [source]
a) Ban on or limitation of foreign economic operations envisaging the import to the territory of the Russian Federation of certain goods originating from the Turkish Republic as listed by the Russian Federation Government (except for goods imported for personal use in amounts established by Eurasian Economic Union regulations);
b) Ban on or limitation of certain types of work (services) rendered on the territory of Russia by organisations under the jurisdiction of the Turkish Republic in line with a list established by the Russian Federation Government;
c) Ban for employers, contractors of work (services) not listed by the Russian Federation Government to employ as of January 1, 2016, citizens of the Turkish Republic who are not bound by employment and/or legal civil contracts with the said employers on December 31, 2015.
d) To suspend the visa free agreement.
e) To suspend the sale to Russian citizens of products that envisage visiting the territory of the Turkish Republic.
Also, to introduce a ban on charter flights between Russia and Turkey;
to enhance control over the activity of Turkish trucking companies on the Russian territory to ensure security;
to enhance control at ports and ensure the transportation safety of Russian seaports in the Azov-Black Sea area, including the prevention of the illegal presence and movement of marine and other vessels within the waters of Russian seaports.
The Government was also given instructions to submit proposals, if necessary, regarding changes to the duration or nature of the special economic and other measures envisaged by the Executive Order.
The Executive Order comes into effect on the day of its official publication and remains in effect until the special economic and other measures established thereunder are cancelled.
Dmitry Peskov, an official spokesman for Russian President Putin, stated that Russia was not introducing a trade embargo against Turkey. Yet, Russia is taking additional measures to control Turkish goods in connection with increased risks of various extremist manifestations, Peskov said.
“There is no embargo being introduced, but as various manifestations of extremism are increasing, we are taking additional control measures,” Peskov said, RIA Novosti reports. According to him, this is a natural reaction, “especially in terms of unpredictable actions of the Turkish Republic.”
When asked about a possibility for Turkey to prevent Russian vessels from passing through the Bosporus to Syria, Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow was counting “on the inviolability of standards of freedom of navigation through the Black Sea Straits.”
Other measures taken from November 24th to November 27th 2015
1. Russian border control stops processing goods from Turkey coming via Georgia.
2. Russia places ban on Turkish produced that NATObots are already christened a “lettuce embargo.” We have already seen in Poland, Spain, France and the Baltics how the produce ban from Russia angered large segments of the population who stood to lose their livehood.
3. At time like this all eyes are at Ramzan Kadyrov, President of Chechnya
Kadyrov made a statement of his Instagram account, because that’s how he communicates with the millions of his followers.
“Enough leniency to those people, who leave to join the terrorists.”
He stated this at a meeting with the heads of the Special Forces in Chechnya.
“We can’t always try to convince and to show leniency. The stories that they have been duped are nothing but a joke. These people start “seeing the light” only when they smell gunpowder. It’s hard to trust this kind of enlightenment. I invite the participants of this meeting to stay vigilant, and to guide your servicemen to do the same.”
According to Kadyrov, anyone who supports the ideology of ISIS (ISIL, Daesh) is the enemy of the Russian people.
“The terrorists from Syria commit all the evil that has happening in our land, including the arson of the ziyarat or a tomb of a popular local Muslim dervish and a teacher Hodja Yangulbi in Kurchaloe (Янгульби хаджи Курчалойский (Дохтукаев)) in November 15th, 2015. Four young Chechen men converted to the takfiri ideology of ISIS went to the mausoleum of the respected local 19 century saint and burned it. Video
“Those shaitans are also based in Turkey. We will be fighting against them no matter where they are,” concluded Kadyrov.
Representatives of the Ministry of the interior assured the President that the units are in full combat readiness and are capable to realize any task set by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Also, Kadyrov noted that in the 19th century Turkey cheated by inviting tens of thousands of Chechens and then welcomed them with severe living conditions.
GROZNY, November 28. /TASS/. Leader of the Russian North Caucasus republic of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has accused Turkey of assistance to terrorists and refuted the allegations that the Turkish always provided help to the Chechens.
“I have been an object for reproaches that I am against Islam and am supporting the infidels,” Kadyrov said on a social network on Saturday.
“I love facts so I am asking a question: when, where and how has Turkey helped Chechnya and my people? Show me a single school, a hospital, a kindergarten or a mosque built as a gift to Chechnya! Give me one example!” Chechnya’s head asked rhetorically. “Yes, you have helped the Wahhabis, terrorists and raised money for them. You gave medical treatment and holiday-making accommodation to [the terrorists like] Udugov, Umarov and Basayev. They and their accomplices used to organize terror acts and kill Chechens. Is this your help?”
Kadyrov noted that in the 19th century Turkey cheated by inviting tens of thousands of Chechens and then welcomed them with severe living conditions. Five years later, half of them died while attempts to return to homeland “were cut short by gunfire.”
“Nowadays Turkey has become a base for recruitment and dispatch of terrorists to Syria,” Kadyrov said. “Bandits from all over the world are passing via Turkey. But the very few are detained. Turkey does not struggle against the ISIS (former name for the so-called Islamic State terrorist organization outlawed in Russia)! The country does business with them, buys oil and allocates money to Islam foes that kill thousands of Muslims. What is more! Who backed the authors of caricatures on the Prophet in Paris? And I condemned in a very tough manner the magazine and gathered over a million of people in Grozny who voiced a resolute protest heard around the world.”
Kadyrov said that even if “the Earth burns to ashes” he would not make a single step against Islam. He pledges to be the Wahhabis’ enemy and says has sworn to fight against them throughout his lifetime.
“Russia is home to 30 million Muslims,” he said. “It is our Fatherland! And the downed plane is ours! And the pilot is ours! And you know that Russia is home to millions of Muslims. Then why did you shoot down our plane? Why did you murder our pilot who fought against ISIS protecting the Muslims? And because of your consent and indulgence the West has destroyed Iraq, Syria and Libya. Now tell me what are your reasons to blame me of being against Islam? I am a defender of Islam! While the Turkish leadership goes on helping to destroy Islamic states and peoples.”

Russian Military Raises the Stakes in Syria: S-400 Anti-Aircraft Missiles Arrive in Latakia [source]
Four days after the Turkish Air Defense shot down a Russian SU-24 fighter jet over the Latakia Governorate’s northern countryside, the Russian Federation has finally responded to this unwarranted aggression by delivering several S-400 anti-aircraft missiles to their military personnel that are currently operating inside Hmaymim Airfields in the Syrian coastal city of Jableh (Latakia Governorate).
This news comes after a number of pictures from the Syrian port-city of Latakia confirmed the arrival of several S-400 anti-aircraft missiles.
The S-400 missiles were specifically delivered to the Hmaymim Airfields in order for the Russian Air Force to respond to any potential threat that may endanger the lives of their military personnel and military assets around the Syrian border with Turkey.
Turkey has attempted to ease the tensions with the Russian Federation; however, the Russian president Vladimir Putin has expressed his discontent and aggravation over this attack.
President Putin has ruled out any possible military confrontation with Turkey over this deliberate attack on the Russian fighter jet; but, it appears his words struck a chord with the Turkish regime as many members of Recep Erdogan’s cabinet have issued their apologies to the Russian Federation over the death of their Air Force personnel.

For the fans of Rostislav Ishchenko
1. Ishchenko: A change in global leader takes place in Syria -October 15th, 2015 in English
2. Who rules Turkey? Nov 27, 2015 in Russian
Ishchenko: Ankara, just like Tbilisi in 2008, expected the US to step in and protect them. Just like in 2008, Washington stepped aside and pretended that whatever happened was no concern for the US.
The US facilitated an unnecessary, bloody anti-government coup in Ukraine trying to get Russia involved into the terrible war with Ukraine. That didn’t happen. Instead, the Kiev junta started an endless war on the people of Ukraine.
It means that in Syria, Washington has not expected Russia to immediately attack Turkey. However, the US government’s plan is to carve out rich with gas and oil territories of Syria, Iraq and Turkey and to create a phantom state, Kurdistan, with the government fully ruled by Washington. The US Senate cannot openly support the separatists against the NATO member and “ally.” So, the US decided to create the situation where Kurds can come to Russia and ask for support and arms and to receive all these elements to avenge Turkey’s aggression.
Who else would be interested in division if Turkey? Who wouldn’t?
Greece wants to avenge the victims of the Smyrna Massacre and to return Constantinople.
Armenia wants to avenge the victims of the Armenian genocide and to return Mount Ararat and its regions lost to Turkey in 1922
after the Bolshevik revolution and the Allied countries war on Russia in 1918-1922
The question is who will be the main benefactor of the war on Turkey? It’s not guaranteed that the greater Armenia or the greater Greece would be the allies of Russia. Also, Kurdistan run by the US will most definitely be an enemy to not only of Russia, but also Iran and Syria.
We have to expect more provocations against Russia in Syria, Ukraine and in the Baltics, as attempts to pull Russia into a full scale war. For Edrogan, just like for Poroshenko, escalation towards the war with Russia could help the dictatorship and fight with the separatism and growing poverty. It’s possible that Poroshenko and Edrogan will coordinate their efforts with Washington and attack Russia simultaneously from two fronts. The dream of Washington pulling Russia into the war with Ukraine and with NATO (Turkey) might just come true.
Ishchenko believes that the world war will take place. The US will be pushing into the collision with Russia and sacrificing more and more of its allies. It just a mater if Russia decided to accept this scarifies and when.
3. Rostislav Ishchenko: The US set Turkey Up 27.11.2015 in Russian
Same as above. The US plan is to create Kurdistan with the Russia’s help, and to come in as a peacemaker and to steal the victory from Russia.
And finally the question that everyone is asking, Will Russia nuke Turkey?
Russian military analyst on possible war with Turkey and NATO behind it
Mikhail Alexandrov, leading analyst of the Centre for Military-Political Studies at MGIMO, expressed certainty that in case of a war with Turkey, Russia will immediately use the nuclear weapon against the strategic targets in Turkey and not against the densely populated areas.
Turkey must be dealt with, but focusing primarily on Turkey is a strategic mistake.
Why?
Because Turkey is only a proxy, and there is no way in hell that it shot down the Russia bomber without military support and political backing by America and Europe.
Instead of attacking the Turkish proxy, go after its master: the United States of America (and Europe).
The West is a hydra monster with many different heads. Cut one head off, and another (or two) grows in its place.
The West is a hydra monster with many different heads. Cut one head off, and another (or two) grows in its place.
And their only source of food is the US petro dollar. Cut that off and all those heads die off. Like a vegie garden in a drought.
If that is the case then Russian KGB should take a page out of the CIA playbook and manipulate US-based jihadists, anti-government militias, street gangs, and other US terror groups into bombing the real sources of evil: National Endowment for Democracy, Project for a New American Century, George Soros, Warren Buffet, Jamie Dimon, CNN, Fox News, and other like-minded groups.
Russia should not fritter her resources and time on t ackling proxies and secondary enemies. Russia must target the primary eneny which us her persistebt adversary and which plotted syrian war, both cokd wars and both workd wars and crinean war.
That adversary which Russia must kill for once and all is England.
But stupid Russian Ambassador only yesterday was hopeful that with UK help Russia can sort out tge isil n. With such idiots in diplomatic Corp Russia has no hopefor redemption. Ib fact rusxia is losing in all front. BTW. Why did putin not showto world public openly in g20 meeting the map which he said he hadshwon to his partners about the long truck caravan and who is cotrolling that oikblack market?
Why bother to let anglos save face always when Russia is publucly insukted and attacked everyday. That too in the middle of war which Rusdia has to win to survive.
But England is such a tiny little island and Russia is so big. Russians can just laugh.
Ukraine is not the reason turkey attacked Russian aircraft in Syria. The Israeli oded yinon plan is. The zionazis are desperate now that the ZPC/NWO “send in the terrorists” strategy for greater Israel is failing. So they attempt to sucker Russia by sacrificing their Turkish pawn.
It isn’t working. The Russians have seen this zio gambit before.
Vot tak
Good to hear from you… I always enjoy your comments.
Babushka in Oz
Cheers and thanks. I enjoy reading your comments here, as well.
I agree, Ukraine is not the reason.
The truth is that Turkey is in some very deep shit if the ISIS project fails, hence why the US (possibly all major Euro-states as well) could easily encourage-convince Turkey to take this risk. Erdogan is toast if the ISIS project fails, hence will risk everything to that end. Is he able to back-down and work with Russia? I don’t think he is.
The US has a great interest in opening up for Russia a 3-front war. a) Ukraine b) ISIS and c) Turkey. Turkey by the way is far more powerful than many people think and also controls the Bosphorous.
Then the US can come in and pick-up the pieces as they did in the 20th century.
Calm and clear thinking are required now, not hurrah-patriotism.
Kurdistan could just be a piece of federated Syria. Helping them fight the Turks might be useful to tie down the Turks, weaken US and Israeli support, then offer them an semi-autonomous region, no more.
They will never be able to hold a Kurdistan against Turkey’s full wrath. But one way of breaking Turkey out of NATO is to encourage the onslaught against the Kurds. Make the Kurds strong enough and Turkey will go nuts.
End of an Era: Iran-Russia Cooperation in Syria Defies US Hegemony

“maybe we witness a new age of the Russian statehood, when things that need to be done get done immediately” – It’s a big maybe. I would not count on it because the objective constraints are set against Russia. Most cited reactions show anger and frustration. The latter because the lettuce embargo do not give satisfaction to anybody in Russia with the realization that the lettuce embargo is about all that Russia can do.
There is and will not be fair play from the West towards Russia. By now everybody should know it. But apparently Dmitry Peskov is still counting “on the inviolability of standards of freedom of navigation through the Black Sea Straits”. Yes, keep on counting. The West recognizes only force. Which Russia does not have it. Not in conventional weapons. Fortunately there are people like Mikhail Alexandrov who recognize it.
Do you really believe that anyone of Putin/Lavrov/Ivanov/Peskov/Shoigu/Gerasenko do not know already (far better than you or me) that NATO will never play fair?
Their statements are always modest and keeping to script on International Law etc. There is a very good reason for this. When the inevitable clash begins, Russia must appear to the Western audience as well as the peoples of the world as the legitimate defender of human dignity and sovereignty of states.
At the same time, Russia needs some time to beef up her forces in Syria. The Chinese will also be up to something. I expect the Chinese to come in big at some stage. Mark my words!
It is part of Russia’s strategy to delay the inevitable massive escalation, NATO’s strategy is to speed it up.
Time is on our side, that much is clear.
Do you really think that this big clash – that would be WWIII – is inevitable? Perhaps you’re right but on the other hand – als you have pointed out, too – time is on our side.
This could lead to a situation where the anglo-zionist Empire will have passed the best opportunities for them to let a big war begin. Perhaps they will then recognize that they’ll have already lost and this big clash won’t happen.
******Russia must appear to the Western audience as well as the peoples of the world as the legitimate defender of human dignity and sovereignty of states.*******
Can this be accomplished with hostile anti-Russian western MSM? The “audience” is not watching Putin directly. They see him via MSM.
utu, you are correct. Putin could act like Jesus of Nazareth and the Western MSM vermin would still paint him as the Devil. The attitude of the moronic, ignorant, brainwashed serfs in the West is irrelevant, because so very, very, ill-informed.
Iran isn’t going to be happy with anything favorable to Kurds, and it seems Russian and Iran need each other. Turkey won’t be removed from NATO. Like all corporatist organizations, rules are followed as long as they benefit mgt. When rules go against the interests of mgt, they are changed, amended, or ignored.
Seems like Russia is demonstrating quite a bit of “conventional” military forces in Syria, subject to sea strikes from numerous locations and even long range bombers, that’s all kinda conventional. This is much more their back yard than it is the U.S., amazing that the colonial gangsters in Europe are not too embarrassed by their murderous history in the region to show their ugly faces, and then complain about the inevitable blowback as if they were all the time in Sunday school or something. But who is going to invade Russia with conventional forces ? Who would be stupid enough ? 40 k U.S. troops in Germany and a smattering of NATO, hardly a Napoleonic ground force. Air attack would be suicidal with modern S-400 widely deployed. They can lob missiles, that’s about it. True Turkey has 400 k troops and a few airplanes and NATO read U.S. , which they cannot legally bring to bear against Syria, but if they did ? I look for Russia to start working more closely with the Kurds especially in Turkey and Syria, to steal away and guard against the U.S. plans in that regard; the Kurds need to realize they are just pawns of the U.S. which will throw them into the deep blue sea if it suits their stratgic needs that shift constantly; what is left of Iraq needs to come to the same conclusion ( could there be any other ?), and disinvite the U.S. from it’s territory and seize the day, co operation with Russia. It could happen.
Thanks Scott. Great content! Will make sure it is shared.
After reading this article I am partly wondering if the attack on the Russian jet is in a way is playing into Russia’s overall strategy. There is no doubt that ISIS would not exist or have made such incredible gains against Syria if it did not have extraordinary support from Turkey. ISIS supply lines go through Turkey and the oil ISIS ships out goes to Turkey. If Russia is going to stop ISIS it needs to cut off the Turkish supply lines and it needs a reason to squeeze Turkey to get that concession. Now it has that reason.
Thanks Scott for this comprehensive report and keeping us informed during Sakers absence.
Amazing how every time Saker takes ‘time off’ something big happens. Hope that all is well with you Saker — take all the time you need for the healing and grieving.

Haha Scott, the sarcasm exposing the British regimes hypocrisy is perfect.I loved it.
Hi Scott, thanks alot for the sitrep. The interesting part in all this is the Kurdistan Greek and Armenian part. It would be great to learn more about all this. Why would the Greeks not side with Russia ? Because of Syrizia ? I would have thought Orthodox Christians would side with each other?
Greece is a part of NATO-gang, ruled by Freemasons. What do you expect from them? They will do whatever world Zionist government will tell them to do.
E.g. Georgia is also Orthodox country, yet it didn’t stop the tie-chewing maniac Saakashvili from launching war against equally Orthodox Ossetians/Russians.
In the WWII Orthodox Bulgarians were fighting alongside with Russian enemy – Hitler. Today they are also part of a criminal NATO-gang.
Even Serbia (also Orthodox), which once was considered as a very close country to Russia, made an agreement with NATO-gang allowing it to use Serbian territory for transit. So in case of war with Russia (and it seems this war is unfortunately inevitable in the nearest months) Serbian territory will be used against Russia.
I’m not even mentioning here Orthodox Ukraine which is killing Orthodox Russians and Ukrainians living in Eastern Ukraine.
So to be Orthodox is certainly not enough to be friends.
terrible. This is also another view from the mouth of hell Rosa Koire on Agenda 21
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuSLrchSL7M
Religion does not fully interfere with the presence of common sense, the WWII positions have been largely reversed now and I would expect those with a vestige of common sense to side with Russia.
Greece could/should leave eu/nato and become independant and ally with russia, the eu only harms greece economically and turkey only harms greece militarily so nato is of no use to greece and also because russia poses no danger to greece, and the share a spiritual/religious bond
“Even Serbia (also Orthodox), which once was considered as a very close country to Russia, made an agreement with NATO-gang allowing it to use Serbian territory for transit.”
After you loose a war you will have to make concessions to the winning party.
“So in case of war with Russia (and it seems this war is unfortunately inevitable in the nearest months) Serbian territory will be used against Russia.”
Let me finish your thought: Russia will have to nuke Serbia. Only shows that you are an extremist no different from a Jihadi or a Fascist.
Truth hurts. And your rant proves it.
“Let me finish your thought: Russia will have to nuke Serbia. Only shows that you are an extremist no different from a Jihadi or a Fascist.”
Surprised that mods even allowed to publish such primitive trolling and ad hominem attack.
Where I was factually wrong?
– In the statement that Serbs are Orthodox? – They are.
– Did Serbia made an agreement with NATO? – Yes it did.
– Will Serbian territory will be used against Russia in case of NATO-Russia war? – Of course it will, if needed.
Where I was saying about “nuking Serbia” you j***?
On a side note: hardly I can imagine any other country that could (as Serbia did) appoint a war criminal – Tony Blair – who bombed Serbia in 1999 – as new adviser of Serbian government (“In the now” from 1:35).
Just recently, less than two weeks ago, Serbia greeted with an open arms (bread, salt and ceremonial guard) secretary general of the very same criminal NATO-gang that was bombing Serbia several years ago.
Can you imagine a person who invades your home, destructs it, grabs part of it, kills your kids with depleted uranium, and then you shake hands with him and invite him to work in your home like nothing is happened?
Sickening.
Well, Anonymous, it is true that the other commenter, Ivan, made an ad hominem attack on you. So, I think that you must have a fair chance of response, but, anyway I had to edit a word in your comment. I would ask you, both, Ivan and Anonymous, please, to refrain from ad hominem attacks or insulting each other. You can argue with facts what you will, but respecting the blog policy. Thanks.
“– Will Serbian territory will be used against Russia in case of NATO-Russia war? – Of course it will, if needed.”
How can you know that? When in history did Serbia side in a war against Russia?
“Can you imagine a person who invades your home, destructs it, grabs part of it, kills your kids with depleted uranium, and then you shake hands with him and invite him to work in your home like nothing is happened?”
What do you think Putin did when he made best friends and lucrative business deals with Erdogan, Bush and several Arab leaders? The same guys that supported Chechen Islamists beheading Russian civilians.
No matter how much you dislike some person, they are all irrelevant. Reaching the goal and winning the war is what is important. Today German Ex Chancellor Schroeder is the best buddy of Putin and he uses him well to advance Russias interests. The same guy that headed Germany into the war against Yugoslavia.
“How can you know that? When in history did Serbia side in a war against Russia?”
Don’t distort my words: Serbian territory will be used by NATO against Russia, not “Serbia will side in a war against Russia”.
Because thats what is said in this Serbia-NATO agreement. What history has to do with today’s Serbia-NATO agreements?
Should I even mention here Montenegro (basically, the same Serbs) with its anti-Russian policy of “sanctions” and anti-Russian propaganda – which is one step away from joining NATO (a criminal gang, extremely hostile towards Russia and free world in general). Though a bit farther, Serbia is on the same path.
“What do you think Putin did when he made best friends and lucrative business deals with Erdogan, Bush and several Arab leaders? The same guys that supported Chechen Islamists beheading Russian civilians.”
Incorrect analogy. Here is a correct one: it is like if Russia would appoint one of the terrorist leaders that were killing Russian children in Beslan as one of the Russian government advisers. That is what Vucic did appointing Blair, who bombed and killed about 1700 Serbian civilians including 400 kids with depleted uranium and cluster bombs, as his adviser.
Serbia lost the war. But did you also lost your dignity?
Why do you need red carpet greeting with bread, salt and ceremonial guard for leader of a criminal and extremely hostile towards both Russia and Serbian people NATO-gang? What you are ‘winning’ by doing this anyway?
If you have any decency or love for your Motherland left, find courage to resist. Not to deny an obvious facts in pathetic attempt to justify criminal activity of Serbian government – faithful lackeys of Anglo-Zionist Empire.
“Why would the Greeks not side with Russia? Because of Syriza?”
Well, ultimately because of NATO and the Greek oligarchy. But the pathetic Social Democratic “radical” stunt known as Syriza certainly forms part of the problem. The task which Western imperialism assigns to its left-wing hacks such as Tsipras and Corbyn is to fool people with 100% empty promises and populist slogans. Tsipras, however, miscalculated badly. He pretended to be against austerity, but counted on the Greek electorate not to believe in it, preferring to suck up to NATO and the EU. The stunt failed miserably.

Thanks Scott. Top SITREP.
I can see the day coming when Russia may be allied with the Greeks, Armenians, Serbs, Macedonians, Greek Cypriots, Syrians, Iraqis, Lebanese, Iranians and Kurds, possibly even the Azerbaijanis and Georgians, who will all take the opportunity of Turkish over-stretch at the urging of the Anglo-Zionists (and dutifully betrayed, as is their modus operandi) and finally fragment what is now modern Turkey (and in the process right historical wrongs), restore Constantinople, free up the Dardanelles and Bosphorus for the Black Sea fleet, and fully free the area once and for all from Turkey’s toxic historical influence. Maybe only a flight of fancy, but at the moment I refuse to write off any potential scenario or developments.
The thought of using nuclear weapons fills me with dread, but the logic is inescapable. In a serious confrontation Russia cannot allow herself to be dragged into a war of attrition, especially with her supply lines into Syria not being fully secured.
And special thanks also to Google translation, as I’d be lost without it, not knowing Russian (well a few words, probably 10, along with the numbers and a rusty pronunciation of the Cyrillic alphabet).
An excellent summary of the situation following the downing of the Russian plane by Turkey! Below is my translation of the video transcript of Zyuganov’s press conference statement.
Incidentally, he is not reading from any script, he never does. I had the opportunity to listen to him live in the university auditorium in 1997 during his visit to the U.S. A former university professor, he was at the time the leader of the largest political party in Russian Duma (today his is the second largest). I was then extremely impressed, among other things, by how diplomatically he handled very provocative questions from some Zionists (!) in the audience.

Gennady Andreyevich Zyuganov: If you want to be strong and confident, strengthen your country
On 25 November the Chairman of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Russian Federation G. A. Zyuganov commented to the media on the preceding day’s attack against the Russian Su-24 aircraft in Syria.
“NATO committed a very grave military provocation against our country. The Americans and their satellites went on offence. Never before in the last 50 years had NATO used its armed forces to attack combat aircraft of our country, which carry out tasks of fighting international terrorism”, – said the leader of the Communist Party.
“It seemed – continued Gennady Andreyevich – that NATO went to negotiations and we even agreed with them on the order of the flights. And yet, there was a provocation, which is perfectly obvious. To who’s benefit? I believe that to the European countries this provocation is categorically not favourable. It was not by chance, that at the meeting at the NATO Council its members disagreed among themselves. I haven’t heard a single distinct assertion on the part of leaders and military specialists of the Western European countries that Turkey’s actions were correct and deserving of support. Rather, there was a quite confused and vague expression of their position, though without condemnation of the provocation by the U.S. and its Turkish associates. Nevertheless, I believe that this provocation is extremely unfavourable for Europe”.
“And it is also unfavourable to Turkey”, said the CPRF leader. “Although there are plenty political and financial-economic forces who are interested in the cheap purchase of oil stolen by bandits in Syria and Iraq. They mix the stolen oil with theirs and then sell it at normal prices”.
“I think,” – stressed Gennady Andreyevich – “that behind this incident, first stands the USA, which in its history has always been distinguished by the ability to organize such provocations. At one time I had to prepare work “Two Hundred Years Of The American Dream”. I researched the U.S. foreign policy spanning many decades and was simply astonished”.
“External U.S. policy” – continued the leader of the Communist party, “has always been distinguished by two directions. The first one is expansion. Seizure of foreign territories and setting up bases there. And the second one is endless provocations. So, the war with Spain began with provocation with the participation of the armoured cruiser “Maine”, which was anchored in Havana. The war against Vietnam began with the Gulf of Tonkin, when the order to start fighting was given, ostensibly in response to the attack by the Vietnamese. Following about the same scenario, developed the events associated with the Taliban in Afghanistan and IS in the Middle East”, – said Gennady Zyuganov.
“Americans badly need this military skirmish, to at any cost write off their huge debt of 18 trillions. They do not see another way. That country twice profited in a big way from world wars. After the First world war they concentrated in their hands fifty percent of all gold backed reserves. After the Second world war almost sixty percent. On each of our dead, the U.S.A. “earned” $200″,- said Gennady Andreevich.
“USA, concentrating in its hands enormous resources, after the Second world war dictated financial and economic order throughout the world. Only Stalin and the Soviet Union did not succumb to these provocations. Faster than any others after the war, we restored the national economy, stopped using the ration cards. We created a great potential which enabled us to form a rocket-nuclear complex and keep the world away from Third World War”, – stressed G. A. Zyuganov.
“Today, – continued the leader of the Communist party, the Americans went for another provocation, which they do not hide particularly. This is evidenced by the first evaluations after the incident emanating from the Pentagon and the State Department. Just after an hour and a half they already started to justify Turkey and stated, that the Turkish side had the right to shoot down our plane. Subsequently, President Obama confirmed that point of view after a night of negotiations with the Turkish President”.
“In my opinion, no matter how the US covers up this crime, it remains a crime. The downed plane, a pilot and a marine dead – that is a challenge to the entire world community. Such a challenge requires a quick and decisive response, but at the same time thinking through all the consequences and draw far-reaching conclusions”, – considers the leader of the Communist party.
“The first conclusion. It was not today or yesterday when a huge war was declared on our country. Financial, economic and territorial war. A war has been declared upon the entire Slavic world. When in the 1990s they bombed Yugoslavia, Russia kept silent, instead of supplying the necessary means of combat, so that these vultures could not fly so mercilessly”, – reminded the leader of the Russian Communists.
“It is then”, – continued G.A. Zyuganov, “that the NATO tested all versions of conducting the air war. While avoiding the field of reach of the air defences of Yugoslavia, they shot the entire country mercilessly, cynically, disgustingly. Cynically, because soldiers in the war, as a rule, risk their lives. They risked nothing while shooting at the country – our ally. By the way, our main ally in the years of The Great Patriotic War. Hitler broke off his teeth in fact in Yugoslavia. Not by chance, he wanted after the war with the Soviet Union to exile every second Serb to Siberia – and to shoot the remaining Serbs. Fortunately, these bloody plans have not materialised”.
“But these plans”, said the leader of the Communist party – “were continued by the United States. Subsequently that was repeated in Afghanistan, in Libya and in other countries, and is now continuing in Syria. The main forecast is that this war will not end tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. And we must be ready for such a challenge. Ready, in the first place, with the view of security. We are obliged to reconsider the state budget. Sixteen trillion roubles, which depreciated by half, is not sufficient neither for safety, nor for solving problems with our defence, the defence complex, science, quality education and the preparation of the relevant cadres”.
“We need to draw conclusions primarily within the country to ensure our confidence and security. Today Europe is swept over by the flow of refugees. They escaped there through Turkey with the support of the Americans. Together with refugees to Europe leaked militant groups which are now organizing terror not only in France but also all over the continent. We need to assist as much as possible that this flow be discontinued. I’m convinced that all the voters of Europe support military actions which are conducted by our country, first of all by military-air means directly in Syria”, – said Gennady Zyuganov.
“Our military, – said Gennady Andreevich, – has taken measures to support their aircraft. Military, professionally trained, they will find a number decisions.”
“One the principal issues”, – continued the leader of the Communist party, “is the relations with Turkey. At one time, Turkey was one of the first who recognised Soviet Republic. Even during the Great Patriotic War Turkey did not enter into a coalition with Hitler and did not unleash war against us. A deterrent factor in that was the presence of our divisions in Iran. Over the last twenty years Turkey has profited from trade with us, on building contracts and deliveries of its consumer goods. Turkey also gets a huge income from tourism. In this direction, Russian authorities have a large field of action to effectively influence all Turkish markets and the main economic circles of that country. Interested in the spread of terrorism is a very narrow group of individuals that profits primarily from the supply of oil”.
“It is necessary to competently carry out the operation associated with the Kurds. At one time the Soviet state was friends with the President of Iraqi Kurdistan and the leader of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan Massoud Barzani, and it trained specialists. At least the border area between Turkey and Syria could be safer if it is secured by divisions of the Kurds, and those forces that are receptive to our needs. And this requires the efforts of intelligence agencies, of the military and of our diplomatic corps”, – stressed Gennady Andreevich.
“But to overreact with military actions is categorically out. We have to weigh and count everything. At least, the Bosporus and the Dardanelles are today controlled by Turkey and NATO. As for our Mediterranean grouping, it has a real opportunity there”, – said the leader of the CPRF.
“Let me remind you, which powerful opportunities existed also in the Soviet Union. When a war was unleashed in that area at one time, the Council of Ministers of the USSR and the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee adopted two decisions. Our Mediterranean fleet was to declare readiness number one. It consisted then of about 130 ships. And our paratroopers (there were about 100 thousand of them) were given the command “on the wing”. Then the secret service deliberately allowed information leakage, including to the Americans. Two hours later the USA said: “Retreat, the war will end tomorrow.” And tomorrow it was over”, – G.A. Zyuganov gave an example from history.
“Therefore, if you want to be strong and confident, strengthen your country and improve it in all directions. Then international problems also will be solved energetically and effectively”, – said in conclusion the leader of the Russian Communists.
Thank you for this very informative text. The understanding of context is critical to better understand the current complex situation.
Thank you very much for translating this!
My thanks, also, Johan.
Mods, could you ask The Saker if, perhaps, this could be titled and dated and added into the permanent collection under Speeches or whatever category is appropriate? I often go back to review important statements like this later, with some retrospective frame of reference — after all, that is the real worth of “history,” right? My thanks to ALL who help me ferret out reality, separate it from the imaginations of the psychopaths.
Thank you Johan. Very interesting.
I agree that the Turks acted with full approval of the U.S. and allies as they were all prepared with their words of support, no questioning of the evidence.
However there is a gulf btw the politicians and the public, who could not grasp why Turkey acted in this way.
Why class Russia as a threat when you are supposed to be fighting ISIL.
The whole thing has been shocking especially as it was filmed for all to see complete with savage “moderate” terrorists shooting then disrespecting the body of the pilot. All images one associates with ISIL.
This for the public helped create and reinforce the view that Turkey are not to be trusted.
Russia priority in fighting the war in Syria and Turkey and the allies se seeking to derail the efforts.
Getting angry, upset etc understandable but being stupid by reacting with force is not wise. There are many ways to avenge this travesty and it will be done.
Getting involved in the Kurdish question does not help. The Kurds are western puppets.
Russia need to focus on wiping out the oil, weapons pipeline and also the terrorists from the Caucasus.
Turkey can be sorted out subtly along the way
Thanks for the SitRep! I have been following events as best I can from Austria, and even here people are increasingly waking up to the infamy of the US/UK/IS/Turkey/ISIS etc. cabal. I hope that Turks themselves will come to realise that their current government is a liability and disgrace before it is too late, but the first attitude in such cases is all too often truculent and bristling with aggression, before the magnitude of the blunder and its consequences sink in.
It always pains me when these evil machinations are attributed to “the West”, because the majority of people living there have no influence on what their masters get up to, are systemically subjected to disinformation amounting to brainwashing in many cases, and would not approve of what is happening if it were explained to them in an objective manner. Even in the US, as Saker will know, not everyone is on the same page with these unscrupulous madmen.
Here in Austria and neighbouring countries, the memories of past Turkish atrocities are still vivid, so in this particular case sympathy lies almost exclusively with Russia; even among readers of habitually Russophobic mockingbird media, only the paid trolls take Turkey’s side in this. At least we are not in NATO, but our government is too weak and spineless to stand up to German and other NATO countries’ pressure. Under the circumstances, I look forward to the EU breaking apart, for when we signed on to it, this proto-totalitarian, neolib, warmongering monster was not what we were promised or expecting.
That’s nonsense, victim complex bs. The top 20% most motivated people (men) all work for it.
& as female nature shows, the bottom 80% would not reproduce if it were not for enforced monogamy so are irrelevant.

I think it is a common misconception that Iran is as opposed to a Iraqi or Syrian Kurdistan as Turkey is. Such an entity would be no more harmful than the already existing Azeri Republic. Even Iraqi Shias have repeatedly told the Kurds that they can leave if they want to leave. But of course, they won’t. Who wants to live in landlocked hell and without extra oil revenues from Baghdad?
Lastly, when talking about the Kurds we must distinguish between the Syrian Kurds and the Iraqi Kurds, particularly those from Barzani’s fiefdom. Barzani and his cohorts proved as dishonorable as Erdogan. Initially looking favorably upon Daesh and helping them murder their Syrian Kurdish “brothers.” They also proved that they can’t fight for shit and had to have their asses bailed out by the Iranians and their PKK and YPG “brothers” whose slaughter by Erdogan and Daesh they were aiding. The YPG of Syria on the other hand has not only proven to be good fighters but also honorable and broad minded.

And yet another goodie by Tony Cartalucci:
NATO’s Terror Convoys Halted at Syrian Border
http://journal-neo.org/2015/11/29/natos-terror-convoys-halted-at-syrian-border/
Some trivia to go with Cartalucci’s article. Look up the websites of MSF, UN, Red Cross Red Crescent. All have to drop their aid at the border. Non of their personal can enter the “rebel” held areas.
A week or two ago an article in the MSM of MSF accusing Russia of bombing one of their hospitals in Syria. I looked up the MSF website and yep, they were accusing Russia of bombing one of “their” hospitals. In the same article it turned out that rather than being a “MSF” hospital as such it was simply a place were MSF sent medical supplies that they dropped at the border. MSF stated in that article that it was too dangerous for their personal to enter the “rebel” held areas.
MSF might be doing some good work but they are part of the empire as well.. After Iraq I wont believe any of these humanitarian orgs as anything but.. Remember, they are a tax deductible company.. So they get a cut from the empire.. And they follow the empires propaganda to keep that status. MSF might be a little freer as they are not based in the US itself but I bet they are a registered non profit org under the US..
Both excellent.
Thanks for the links.
I look forward to teh day when I read that hte Syrian army has secured Syria’s whole northern border.
After that perhaps it can advance on the Golan Heights.

Downing Russian Su-24: Ultimate and desperate geopolitical provocation by Nato-Turkey
Courtesy of Donbass International News Agency
“Timing of shooting down Russian jet raises lots of questions, because Britain is just doing its decisions about its Syria-intervention and French aircraft carrier has just arrived to Mediterranean Sea – US navy on its way led by aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman.
“In front of escalation there is only Russian navy and its air forces, which are supporting Syria and its allies in war against terrorist elements. Just like year 2013, key to Russian regional influence is still in Sevastopol at Black Sea, from where Russian navy gets its needed support and logistics. In year 2013 as counter punch toward Russian regional influence, we saw conflict fueled up in Ukraine just few months after events in the Mediterranean. And that escalation was soon threatening position of Sevastopol in Crimean peninsula.
“Russia made fast with Crimean’s counter measures with military-political means when coup in Maidan was done. Key to success was secure position of Sevastopol and process led finally to conclusion, that whole peninsula was joined back to Russia by democratic process. Today we can’t see that economically, morally and militarily weak Ukraine under Kiev regime, which is stuck in Donbass conflict, could threaten Russian influence by targeting Crimea with its aggression – so how about Turkey?
“Turkey holds key to Black Sea. Worsening tensions between Turkey and Russia can in principle to lead to serious situation, where Turkey could block Bosphorus Strait, using pretext from its own safety, and deny Russian navy base from its crucial connection to Mediterranean and leave Russian fleet there to dangerous situation – when western navy is encircling coasts of Syria.”

Russian’s have never been warned that they are in Turkish airspace. If you listen to the message it says “You are APPROACHING Turking airspace”. I think there is a big difference in “approching” and actually being “in” the airspace.
They never received the message anyway – it was probably cooked up AFTER the event.
Of course it was cooked up. The so called warning was ‘released’ by an unidentified pilot who conveniently recorded it.
There are literally 1000’s of radio frequency bands, many of them militarily restricted. Unless you can demonstrate that the message was sent out on all of those frequencies, any such warning is useless.

Body of Russian pilot brought to Turkey, to be handed over to Russia: Turkish PM http://bit.ly/1XAgSIL
ANKARA: The body of the pilot killed when Turkey shot down a Russian jet last week was taken to Turkey late Saturday to be handed over to Russia on Moscow’s request, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Sunday.
The body is being treated in accordance with the Orthodox tradition, Davutoglu said in a news conference in Ankara before going to Brussels for a meeting with EU leaders on migration.
Davutoglu said with different coalitions operating in Syria with differing objectives, similar incidents to that of the downing of the Russian jet could happen unless there was information sharing and coordination.

Obama and stotelberg ,hollande and cameron doesn’t like Russians and Putin their want to invade control Russia.Putin is the obstacle which stands in their way because he stands up for Russians and oppress by Nato.US is having hand in both downings of Russian passenger and bomber jets.
And Putin thought a pidgin crapping on the board was bad. Now there’s turkey crap all over the board.
It is now becoming clear that Russia had the goods on Turkey long before moving into Syria.
I had thought the first thing Russia would do on taking up the fight with ISIS was shut down the Turkish border.
It seems that Putin has been giving Erdogan a lot of time to pull out of his business dealings without losing face. shutting down the border immediately would have meant killing Turkish nationals driving the trucks and destroying Turkish trucks.
The seven or so weeks until the G20 meeting gave Erdogan plenty of time to pull out without losing face and no one the wiser, but Erdogan did nothing and Putin was out of patience.
A day or so after the G20 conference Russia destroyed Erdogan’s oil convoys.
Erdogan shoots down the SU-24 and within two days Russia had closed the Turkey/Syria border by bombing every truck coming through.
Putin gave Erdogan every chance to choose peace but Erdogan chose war and ISIS. Total madness.
Look at how Putin operates, he offers a lot of incentives to go along with him. Since Turkey could not join the EU, Putin offered him something better.. Give up on jihadis and get visa free travel, gas, join SCO and EEU, a part in the silk route.. Anyone looking 10 years ahead could see big money in all that. But gangsters can only see their own bank account. Erdo got rich off Syrian gas, slaves, organ trafficking and Syrian heritage smuggling and his delusions of grandeur as the next sultan. He actually had such an ego that he thought he could play nato, eu, Russia, is, us and everyone against each other.. People with huge ego’s can do that because he had all his critics murdered or jailed. Even if McCain pushed him to shoot the SU24 down, he even going along with it must mean this guy is totally out of his mind. He wanted to even use the pilots as bargaining chips.. Which makes sense.. To get his terrorists a part in the Syrian government.. But even that is rather twisted logic.. and to think that Russia needs him more than he needs Russia.. well his pet project with IS is going to get wiped out.. chapter 11… without reorganization.. to be liquidated..
Returning the pilots body might stop further sanctions I think.. But Turkey wont have much say in things now, neither does the GCC..
Russia has stared delivering new T72’s and T90 with active defenses to defeat TOW missiles.. So what now? They going to supply manpands? On top the 20,000 or so stingers already in the hands of terrorists? Then we can see storage depots in other countries blowing up in the night.
Obama,Erdogan and stotelberg wants war with Russia. President Putin must refuse to have meeting with Erdogan because helpless pilot in the sky was destroyed by his accomplices. If Erdogan was fighting ISIS he would have target those rebel terorist. No more face buying phone calls with Obama or NATO if Russian military jet is down Russia must pre-emtively destroy the Turkey military bases.Or any NATO weapon carrier because their are one.

President Putin should never ever shake the hands of Erdogan as we won’t be able to shake the hand of our Russian pilot because he is traitor just like Obama, hollande,Cameron and stotelberg.
Seem to remember? That if Rus fails to honour its gas contracts that this would enable the usa legislation for more sanctions,or as’agression’ in some form-certainly gas as a poltical weapon which would be their perspective. ‘Rus has kind of said it would miss the gas income’probably missing ukr gas income too,

http://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/Kremlin-says-Putin-fully-mobilised-to-tackle-threat-from-Turkey-435630
The Kremlin added that President Vladimir Putin is fully mobilized to tackle what Moscow regards as an unprecedented threat from Turkey following the shooting down of one of its warplanes by a Turkish F-16, the Russian leader’s spokesman said on earlier Saturday.
In comments which underscore how angry the Kremlin still is over the incident, Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s spokesman, called the behavior of the Turkish air force “absolute madness” and said Ankara’s subsequent handling of the crisis had reminded him of the “theater of the absurd.”
“Nobody has the right to traitorously shoot down a Russian plane from behind,” Peskov told Russia’s “News on Saturday” TV program, calling Turkish evidence purporting to show the Russian SU-24 jet had violated Turkish air space “cartoons”.
Peskov said the crisis had prompted Putin, whose ministers are preparing retaliatory economic measures against Turkey, to “mobilize” in the way an army does in tense times.
“The president is mobilized, fully mobilized, mobilized to the extent that circumstances demand,” said Peskov.

i remember whe i was young we in school had same tactical trainings. two weeks in forest, in wilderness. fully armed in small complete uniforms with real rifles but with training ammo. we trained assaults on the hilltops, ambushes, searching for diversants. i liked ambushes. in the dark night ambushing other group with AB70 (AK-47). endles flashes of shootings with real machine guns (training ammo). screamings of girls-they had also shooting with us. they enjoyed very. after that on daylight shooting with real ammunition with machine guns (7.9mm), AB70(7.62), pistols (5.56)… that was our first entrance in real world of adult. we saw what bullet makes of stone when hit. we realized then what war may look like and definitely after that practice we felt better never to need to use weapon.
The majority of Greek people (about 60% +) are pro-Russian and have positive feelings for Orthodox Russia. But because of mass media propaganda, low income people were made to believe that an exit from EU will be a “disaster” and Greek people were “persuaded” to vote again for the traitor Alexis tsipras . Only a popular awakening and a revolution will move Greece out of EU and liberate the country.
A minority of Greeks (usually the “americanised” middle and upper middle class and the oligarchs) are definitely pro-EU pro-USA. Usually, they consist of parasitic well off people who send their children into British private colleges and Anglo-saxon elite Universities. The “greek” elite is very corrupt, incompetent, useless, and bought by the tens of billions dollars of bribes that German and american multinational corporations have payed in exchange for public contracts and privatisations (see Akis Tsohatzopoulos etc).
Greece is a NATO-EU puppet state controlled by IMF and ECB. It is a debt colony and its economy is rapidly deteriorating by the measures imposed by EU-IMF.
The Greek state is a vassal state ruled by incompetent kleptocrats who have sold out billions of Greek state property and public wealth to German and other Multinational corporations.
Ordinary Greek people suffer tremendously under EU occupation.
1) Unemployment is over 30% and 5 million people do not have health insurance,
2) Million of people cannot afford to pay for petrol for heating or for car transport,
3) wages for young people have fallen to levels between 300 and 500 euros. Wages are similar to Bulgarian level but prices for everyday products are close to London.
4) Even low level pensions have been cut dramatically and all pension funds have been looted by the government and EU. Retirement ages will be extended to 70 + years and no Greek under 50 years old will get any pension. Only very high pensions of well off and connected public servants and politicians have remained intact !
5) Greek public debt has exploded to 200% of GDP. The greek public debt has been transformed from a debt fully owed to private debtors to a debt fully owed to EU-ECB-IMF.
6) Greek military is deteriorating as military wages have fallen drastically and quality equipment is sold and is not updated
7) State and public property worth more than 50 billion will be privatised and sold to German corporations
8) The Syriza government has encouraged massive illegal immigration that has caused huge problems and has destroyed the tourist economy of the Aegean islands.
Just speculation …
Perhaps Russia thought it was playing a divide-and-rule game on the West, while the West has been playing a good cop-bad cop routine on Russia. Now we will get to see who suckered whom. If Turkey invades Syria and/or Iraq, then Russia’s efforts to get Hollande or Obama to have Turkey send forces to the border to close it will be shown to have been a trap for Russia. And maybe the confusion Putin seemed to show immediately after the jet was shot down was because he is now wondering if the game isn’t actually turning Turkey into a new Ukraine for Russia. How much more independent is Ankara than Kiev was?
Very valid points.
But I think we can be certain that Putin never thought that Hollande would side with Russia on this one. Remember, France is one of the primary beneficiaries of Qatari money as well as GCC money in general. The Russian leadership are all too aware of this.
The Kremlin must have also know that the Paris attacks were the usual NATO-Gladia false flag.
Moreover, escalation on the part of NATO (since things are moving against them on the ground) was a sure bet. No surprise here.
The obvious anger on the part of Putin was the mere knowledge that one of his planes was shot down by a pathetic shitty proxy such as Turkey.
Don’t be naive people, Putin knows very well what all of us here know, plus, much more. But he is acting based on a long-term strategy aiming at winning WW3. Nothing more and nothing less.
For example, he knows full well, that the US/Fra/UK/GCC and Turkey will always be against him on this one. It’s clear as daylight. The only NATO country that has some small chance of being neutral would be Germany (because of Nord Stream II etc) but not with Merkel in the Chansellorship.
I like your optimism. I share it with Putin, though I don’t think he looked angry as much as confused and angry. Like when the Kursk happened. However, the issue is much bigger than one man. In my opinion, the Russian elite have been very much oriented towards business and money as opposed to strategic concerns. Sure, the military or Putin may try to make amends, but just contemplate how things went down in the Ukraine over the last fifteen years. Turkey is an opponent of Russia in many areas, from the Black Sea to the Caucasus to the gas regions of the Middle East. The idea that Turkish Stream will change things is based on this utopian “money is the answer to world problems” view. First of all, Turkey doesn’t gain nearly as much with gas from an enemy as a friend. You lose the leverage, but keep some money, which isn’t really what the Turkish elite want. They want to be a powerful country. Next, the pipelines would still have needed to get into Europe, same as with Bulgaria. If the EU is against you, are you still banging your head against the wall. Germany is the one and only situation where a single country could resist the EU on something important.
So Putin and many of his allies have done a very good job regarding the things they control, such as the military. Regarding things like modernizing and decolonializing the country, it is a mixed bag. Many folks here and on other Russia-oriented blogs regularly attack the US, but it seems to me that the US Empire has strategies, and they often work. The Ukraine will not be joining the Eurasian Union any time soon, and Russia has suffered tens of billions in losses there. And it remains to be seen if Russia can handle the strategy of blowing up all the countries on Russia’s edges – perhaps including Turkey. Did Russia’s approach of endless talks about Syria work? This kept Turkey’s “friendship” – sort of. But tt finally got to the point where Russia and Iran had no choice but to intervene if they wanted to save Syria in anything close to a total form. Syria has been destroyed, however. Russia-oriented blogs are all going to talk about how Russia will get some important bases out of this war, which is fine. But the US strategy seems to be to destroy that part of the world, and Iraq and Syria are certainly mission accomplished. Along with Libya. And consider how effective a little violence can be. The recent actions to damage the Crimea’s electricity will likely do a lot to convince the Chines that they need to wait a few years before moving in. No such problems in SE Asia.
It seems to me that Russian elites have an almost fatal attraction when it comes to Europe. They say it is just the technology or business they want, but it seems more like psychological approval and French wine and Italian villas they crave. Not Putin, but he is the exception. And the technology they should develop on their own. They could, if they would just get away from their Western indoctrination and financial-system domination.
Hegemon slo-mo attack on Russia: Scott, thanks for giving voice to R. Ischenko for us English only speakers. WSJ says the Turks are resisting Washington’s demand that they put 30,000 troops on the border of Syria to create a “safe zone”. It appears the Turks do not want the scrutiny and they feel a big double cross is in the works from NATO ( Germany nixed any help). As for the Kurds: yes they are playing to become a client state like Israel but then the PKK would have to be eliminated a la Sukarno 1960/Indonesia at some point. Maybe those who study history might learn from it enough to avoid a death spiral.
Great sit-rep Scott – you’ve been sorely missed.

The Turks have the Russian pilot’s body and it is being returned to Ankara
https://www.rt.com/news/323862-turkey-pilot-body-russia/
I like this one line in the article – “It remains unclear how Turkey managed to recover the body from the Syrian militants.”
Veritas,
There is an intriguing phrase in the Russian MOD report on the attack on the Turkmen:
“The terrorists operating in this zone and other mysterious groups were eliminated.” http://fortruss.blogspot.com/2015/11/mod-statement-militants-were-also.html
Perhaps these “other mysterious groups” were Turkish military (or a dozen or so of those US special forces – why not?)
absolutely valid point———they only had 12 hrs to get it out before the area was blasted after the navigator was rescued-kinda implies that those delivering the body , ie rebel Turkomen, are now safe in Turkey?
I also happen to believe that Turkey has been set up by the US to disintegrate some way or another, I just hope that Russia will not play along.
As a Serb I would have enough reason to reject Turkish foreign policy but no matter what one thinks about the current Turkish government, the Turks are decent, hard working and tolerant people and do not deserve a bloody civil war or even worse a full scale war against Russia.
It would be completely insane and judging by the mixed reactions coming from Turkey their government seems to realize what risks they are facing.
Whatever Russia is planning, they will neither arm the Kurds nor will they allow a war to break out.

Good news for Syrians and other humans. Bad news for zionists and other fascist parasites.
I just saw this article on RT: https://www.rt.com/news/323885-israeli-airspace-shoot-down/
I have a problem with it however, because this happened over the Golan Heights- and this is Syrian Territory. International Law does not recognize Israeli claims over this area. RT however, did not point this out or include this information as a qualifier.
PLEASE DO NOT fall into the trap of taking things like these for granted because this is exactly the kind of free pass that Israel craves. Look at what is now being trumpeted from Israel:
http://www.timesofisrael.com/syria-is-dead-israel-must-prepare-security-official-warns/
See what I mean? They want Syria to cease to exist as a unified, functioning state so that they can tear of chunks of it as part of their expansionist agenda.
The international community -RT included- must not fall into the trap of recognizing these claims.
in case of a war with Turkey, Russia will immediately use the nuclear weapon against the strategic targets in Turkey and not against the densely populated areas.
And I am sure, that those densely populated overlap with the strategic targets.
One lap and two flies.
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari announced that the country’s submarines have been equipped with the capability to fire home-made long-range Qadir cruise missiles.
“The missiles that we are using today are good and proper missiles to fulfill different missions, including coast-to-sea or surface-to-surface missions, or to be fired from a vessel or by submarines,” Sayyari said, addressing a ceremony to mark delivery of a large number of high-precision and long-range Qadir cruise missiles from the defense ministry to the Navy on Sunday.
Earlier this year, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched the production line of ‘Qadir’ cruise missiles in a ceremony participated by Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and other high-ranking Iranian commanders.

The European Union will introduce a visa-free regime with Turkey in autumn 2016, in case Ankara meets all outstanding requirements, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said Sunday.
BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – Earlier, President of the European Council Donald Tusk stated that the European Union and Turkey at a meeting in Brussels on Sunday approved a joint plan to boost negotiations on its membership in the bloc.
“If all conditions are met, I think that visa liberalization could take effect in the autumn of 2016,” Juncker told reporters after an EU-Turkey meeting in Brussels.
The requirements are in order to contain the mass of refugees sealing the Syrian border.
For this, has been promised to Turkey not only money but accelerating the process of integration into EU. With this issue of the refugees, Turkey seems having caught EU by its balls.
Not a word about the recklessness with Russian plane.
The Syrian Conflict Explained
A highly restricted briefing document on Syria …
President Assad ( who is bad ) is a nasty guy who got so nasty his people rebelled and the Rebels ( who are good ) started winning ( Hurrah!).
But then some of the rebels turned a bit nasty and are now called Islamic State ( who are definitely bad!) and some continued to support democracy ( who are still good.)
So the Americans ( who are good ) started bombing Islamic State ( who are bad ) and giving arms to the Syrian Rebels ( who are good ) so they could fight Assad ( who is still bad ) which was good.
By the way, there is a breakaway state in the north run by the Kurds who want to fight IS ( which is a good thing ) but the Turkish authorities think they are bad, so we have to say they are bad whilst secretly thinking they’re good and giving them guns to fight IS (which is good) but that is another matter.
Getting back to Syria.
So President Putin ( who is bad, cos he invaded Crimea and the Ukraine and killed lots of folks including that nice Russian man in London with polonium poisoned sushi ) has decided to back Assad ( who is still bad ) by attacking IS ( who are also bad ) which is sort of a good thing?
But Putin ( still bad ) thinks the Syrian Rebels ( who are good ) are also bad, and so he bombs them too, much to the annoyance of the Americans ( who are good ) who are busy backing and arming the rebels ( who are also good).
Now Iran ( who used to be bad, but now they have agreed not to build any nuclear weapons and bomb Israel are now good ) are going to provide ground troops to support Assad ( still bad ) as are the Russians ( bad ) who now have ground troops and aircraft in Syria.
So a Coalition of Assad ( still bad ) Putin ( extra bad ) and the Iranians ( good, but in a bad sort of way ) are going to attack IS ( who are bad ) which is a good thing, but also the Syrian Rebels ( who are good ) which is bad.
Now the British ( obviously good, except that nice Mr Corbyn in the corduroy jacket, who is probably bad ) and the Americans ( also good ) cannot attack Assad ( still bad ) for fear of upsetting Putin ( bad ) and Iran ( good / bad) and now they have to accept that Assad might not be that bad after all compared to IS ( who are super bad).
So Assad ( bad ) is now probably good, being better than IS ( but lets face it, drinking your own wee is better than IS so no real choice there ) and since Putin and Iran are also fighting IS that may now make them Good. America ( still Good ) will find it hard to arm a group of rebels being attacked by the Russians for fear of upsetting Mr Putin ( now good ) and that nice mad Ayatollah in Iran ( also Good ) and so they may be forced to say that the Rebels are now Bad, or at the very least abandon them to their fate. This will lead most of them to flee to Turkey and on to Europe or join IS ( still the only constantly bad group).
To Sunni Muslims, an attack by Shia Muslims ( Assad and Iran ) backed by Russians will be seen as something of a Holy War, and the ranks of IS will now be seen by the Sunnis as the only Jihadis fighting in the Holy War and hence many Muslims will now see IS as Good ( Doh!.)
Sunni Muslims will also see the lack of action by Britain and America in support of their Sunni rebel brothers as something of a betrayal ( mmm…might have a point…) and hence we will be seen as Bad.
So now we have America ( now bad ) and Britain ( also bad ) providing limited support to Sunni Rebels ( bad ) many of whom are looking to IS ( Good / bad ) for support against Assad ( now good ) who, along with Iran ( also Good) and Putin ( also, now, unbelievably, Good ) are attempting to retake the country Assad used to run before all this started?
I hope that clears all this up for you.
Nice humour.
I fear many US/NATO leaders will soon go even madder than they are already, due to cognitive dissonance///

Earlier, Moscow deployed S-400 air defence systems at the Hmeymim air base where the Russian warplanes are located. Also, the cruiser Moskva armed with the Fort SAM system which is the naval version of the S-300, took up a position off the Latakia’s coast.
In turn, Turkey sent to the border with Syria electronic warfare system KORAL (Radar Electronic Attack System) to counter the Russian air defences in the region.

Powerful, honest. Washington has lost if Russia does not back down. 22% US unemployment.
Dear Scott,
Thank you very much for the sitrep.
I know a lot of writers are bandying around about Russia helping the Kurds with weapons etc. but I don’t think they will – they are fighting for Syria with the Syrian army and its allies. Why give the Kurds weapons?
The Kurds are being supported by the West/US allies so they have weapons from them – why would the Russians arm them? The Obama administration has already agreed $800 million for their proxies in Syria and Ukraine.
The US and its allies are also trying to take oil fields in Iraq using Kurds and now the 50 “special US advisers” are trying to get them to Raqqa i.e. oil/water. The Syrian/Golan heights which Israel has unilaterally stolen full of oil and water too; they even claim their “controlled” airspace……
I hope the Russians will prevent this from happening – at least in Syria.
Rgds,

Very interesting analysis. Analysis post treachery under a cui bono perspective leaves Russia ahead for very little cost. Russia now has righteously deployed air defense missile systems giving a de facto no fly zone for Syria of any flights she does not approve of. Russia has scored a diplomatic and world opinion propaganda coup against the supporters of Daesh and will be able to bomb logistical supply routes right up to the Turkish border. NATO will now not be able to flood Syrian air space with various members national air force jets sidelining Russia somewhat under safe practices rules to limit the possibility of aerial conflict.Russia can impose sanctions and other pressures on Turkey to begin efforts that will see the Erdogan crime family removed from power and replaced hopefully by a more friendly crime family. All in all a win for a small sacrifice for Russia but a large one for the families of the now dead despite “honours” to be given.

“In the video, about two dozen militants dressed in identical grey and blue uniforms and wearing black bandanas with ISIL flags on them, perform a range of strange exercises in a grassy and wooded area.
The training opens with jihadists doing sit-ups together with giant rocks on their chests. After the militants fall into line, a man in green camouflage starts kicking them in their groins and hips.
The events that follow make this training even more odd: militants form some kind of a human pyramid while one of the jihadists starts jumping over it.
In another jumping exercise, jihadists are playing what appears to be leapfrog: one of the group hops over the shoulders of his tall accomplices.”

The future of the Middle Eastern region depends on an alliance between Russia, Syria and Iran, according to a senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader.
Turkey’s shooting down of the Russian plane contradicts the interests of the Middle East, which depends on an alliance between Russia, Syria and Iran for stability, advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Akbar Velayati told Lebanese television.
Velayate noted that Iran wants to stop the escalation. Velayati was Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1991 to 1997 and currently heads the country’s Center for Strategic Research as part of the Ayatollah-appointed Expediency Discernment Council. He assumed the position in 2013, after the person previously occupying it, Hassan Rouhani, became Iran’s President.
“The attack on the Russian plane is not in the region’s interests. We want to stop the escalation…The region’s future depends on an alliance between Russia, Syria and Iran, and we hope that it leads to peace,” Velayati told Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen Television.

We know that Barack Obama was given a Noble Peace Prize, but Obama has Dishonoured that Noble Peace Prize, because he has been Funding and Supplying the Worst Types of Criminals and Terrorists the World has ever known, and they are the Criminals and Terrorists known as ISIL.
Furthermore, Obama is breaking International Law, Ignoring the Sovereignty of Countries, and Despising the Human Rights of the Syrian People, because Obama and his Caliphate Axis of Evil Allies want to overthrow the Government of Syria which was Democratically Elected in a Free and Fair Election.
This is why Decent People want People to sign Petitions in Many Countries for Obama to give back that Noble Peace Prize.
We will soon be in an Election year in America, and the Republicans may time this to maximized their chances of winning those Elections.
This does not mean that the Republicans and the Democrats are different, because both of them are Terrorists, but they know that they can use Lies and Dirty Tactics against each other to win Elections from their Terrorist Rivals, even though nothing will change as regards to the Major American Political Parties support for Terrorism, because they are both Terrorists.
Those People with Discernment know that it is Hillary Clinton who is they Real President of America, but it is Vice President Barack Obama who has the Undeserved Noble Peace Prize, and the Republicans may use the term Discreetly on Social Media that Hillary Clinton is not using her maiden name of Rodham, because it is replaced with Hillary Caliphate Clinton.
There could be some People who use the term for the Bribed former Vice President Bill Clinton, and that might be Bill Harem Caliphate Clinton, and there could be some People in the French Opposition Political Parties who might use the term Bribed and Corrupted Harem Hollande for the next Elections, if the current French Government acts as Terrorists for the ISIL Caliphate, because they Know these Facts at http://tribune.com.pk/story/1001088/french-fm-plays-down-talk-of-working-with-syria-regime/ .
French People whose National Character and Identity is summarized by the phase of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, and they hope that the French Government does not betray the French People on how the French People define themselves as Human Beings and as Continental Europeans.
These Facts could be the Publicly Debated basis for the next French Presidential Elections and other European Elections, and on Social Media and Talk Back Radio.
There could be People in France who will sign a Petition for the French President and the French Foreign Minister to resign in this situation, because the French President and the French Government have Grossly Insulted every Decent French Person, even more than what the ISIL Terrorists did to France and French Citizens in Paris on 13/11/2015.
This is because the French President and the French Government will be Viewed as Home Grown Terrorists, and there are Many Voters who are hoping that the French Government does not defecate on the Precious memory of those Victims who were murdered in Paris on 13/11/2015, by Ignoring the Sovereignty of Syria, or by Ignoring the Democratically Elected Government of Syria, or by breaking International Law, and or by supporting the ISIL Terrorists, and other Terrorists which are Falsely Labelled as Moderates.
The following is sufficient evidence for those who want proof that Hillary Caliphate Clinton of Libya fame during her Guise as Secretary of State was the Real President of America, and Hillary Caliphate Clinton continued to be the Real President of America.
The father of the first President Bush, and the grandfather of the second President Bush was Prescott Bush who was a Wall Street Banker and a United States Senator, and the first President George Bush served as the Director of the CIA, and so anyone with sufficient Discernment Knows that Ronald Reagan was a Puppet of the first President Bush.
The Bush and Clinton Dictatorship of America began in 1981 with the Actor Ronald Reagan being a Puppet of Vice President Bush Senior who was then the Real President of America, and Hillary Clinton was the Real and Secret President of America during the time Bill Clinton Pretended to be President, and Hillary Caliphate Clinton is the Real President of America during her Puppet Obama Administration.
There are Unbiased Analysts who say that there are no moderate rebels in Syria, because they say: “that virtually none of the mercenaries in Syria are moderate, but are in fact radical jihadists intent on imposing sharia law and establishing a Wahhabi principality in Syria” at http://www.globalresearch.ca/there-are-no-moderate-rebels-in-syria-call-for-un-security-council-resolution-to-condemn-russia-for-bombing-opposition-forces-in-syria/5488448 .

first photo is very good, very many destroyed tankers………….
“The British: We play a small but important role in this conflict; someone has to make sure that when the ISIS is driven out of Syria (by the Russians and the Syrian Army) a transitional government if formed without Assad, the Syrian Army and the Russians. We, the British, will form this transitional government with the Syrian opposition that currently fights alongside with ISIS. Right now we just want to bring as much harm to the Russians and the Syrian Army as possible [..]”
Sounds about right.
It’s a shame it’s never mentioned (I don’t mean on this sitrep, I mean on the media in general) that the majority of the public is dead-against military action in Syria, forget the phony polls which always show a 51 or so percent of people in favor, it’s all nonsense! Majority of regular people don’t want intervention in Syria, full stop. They’re far, far more worried about the fundamentalists threat at home. Yet, the UK MPs are all gung-ho about bombing Syria, at a £ 100K per ‘Brimstone’ missile, while the government is busy slashing social funding to the bone.
.
Excellent SITREP, btw. Well done!
