this comment has been flagged as of little/no value (possibly troll) by the saker Seems to be going largely the way US planners have wanted. There have been no surprises by either side thus far. There is nothing the Russians have done or achieved that was unpredictable. All Russian actions would have been anticipated by US planners except perhaps the initial delicacy of the invasion. “Continental warfare” is rather easy to understand. The babblers quoted and ridiculed by Saker’s resident military genius are not the people who understand the US strategy or the planners who mapped this out. Statements released by the Pentagon and Administration officials—laugh if you will–are not meant to be accurate, they are meant to propagate a narrative. All Russian movements are clear to the satellites above and all Russian electronic communication is monitored. US planners knows precisely what is going on in real time. The tried, true and predictable methodology of hybrid war is being executed. Propaganda, lies, censorship, demonization of the enemy, info warfare, use of proxy forces, murderers and death squads, chaos, subversion, destabilization, economic warfare and sanctions—all standard operating procedure, honed for decades. At this point nothing particularly stupid or surprising from either side. The key to which side “wins” will be the reaction of the populations of the US, Europe, Ukraine and Russia as the war goes on and the impact of sanctions is felt.
Don’t try to hide the American stupidity and shortsightedness in planning.
It’s true that the US has been monitoring the Russian troop movements, but as American commentators such as Scott Ritter say, this op has been surprising in the amount it has achieved with a low number of troops. The Russians haven’t even committed their reserves.
The US had wanted economic war against Russia for a long time. Now they have it. But what those ‘planners’ and their brainwashed followers like you don’t understand is that the combined West has allowed Russia to decouple from the West and go oj her own path. No more appeasement. In this sense, the US has utterly failed in their policy to bring down Russia. Now, pro-western elements inside Russia will be weaker than ever.
You forget another fundamental. It’s not the onlookers (people on social media, news consumers) that decide the outcome of a war. It’s the people who fight the war on the ground that decide who’d win or lose. People like you’re used to US-style war (propaganda narratives) but you’ll face a difficult reckoning when your propaganda bubbles start bursting one by one
The US has succeeded in taking the handcuffs off of Russia’s hands. Now that the US and EU have burned all the bridges between themselves and Russia, Russia is free to pursue its core interests.
US “planners” (entrenched bureaucracy of Cold Warriors) humiliate themselves on TV by contradicting each other and reacting with anti-Russian hysteria. We are governed by Orwellian clowns here in the USA. Time for Europe to decouple from USA to save themselves. We (the American Empire) are dying.
The sanctions against Russia are backfiring – the west starts to have the nastiest crisis of its history!
Credit Swiss’ recent newsletter (9 March 2022), by short-term rate strategist Zoltan Pozsar, states:
“We are witnessing the birth of Bretton Woods III – a new world (monetary) order centered around commodity-based currencies in the East that will likely weaken the Eurodollar system and also contribute to inflationary forces in the West.”
… “If we are right, and if this is a ‘crisis of commodities’ – a 2008 of sorts thematically, if not in terms of size or severity – who will provide the backstop? “This crisis is not like anything we have seen since President Nixon took the U.S. dollar off gold in 1971 – the end of the era of commodity-based money. From the Bretton Woods era backed by gold bullion, to Bretton Woods II backed by inside money (Treasuries with un-hedgeable confiscation risks), to Bretton Woods III backed by outside money (gold bullion and other commodities).
After this war is over, “money” will never be the same again… …and Bitcoin (if it still exists then) will probably benefit from all this.”
As I said before: a Russian or Chinese economist would go further and would predict that the western way is finished. After this crisis, a New World – the multipolar world – will have been born.
US military planners? The same ones who could not defeat the Taliban for 20 years? What do they know? Satellites only tell a part of the story. And thus far, it seems that any secret NATO help ukraine is getting isn’t worth much.
One thing I have to mention is how courteous the presenter was. She asked a question and let him spend 20 minutes answering without interruption. I don’t think a single Western presenter allows his guest to talk for more than 2-3 minutes without interrupting them and moving on. I wish we could have this level of dialogue in the West, but alas…

He thinks Poland is a big risk to enter the war.
So far, the only analyst who thinks so.
Two weeks more, he suggests, maybe the cities will capitulate.
I think that is very optimistic. Probably, all the ammunition will have to run out. Could take a month.
Mariupol is a huge symbolic victory when it comes. Captured should be NATO officers, including US and UK.
His explanation of why not in 2014 is exemplary.
All doubters need to understand what he lays out were all the logistical, tactical and strategic reasons why 2014-2015 was impossible to pursue this kind of war then.
A Suggestion to the Sub-Title team: if you can use a full Black Field, not just black behind each letter of the text, it is much easier to read. YouTube’s subtitles all have the full black field. Emulate that if you can.
Much thanks for translation and subtitles. Great work.
Exactly how I saw and rationalized Russia’s leadership’s strategy going forward from February 2014. Going in hard during the heat of the moment likely would have spelled immediate disaster along with long term negative consequences. Crimea was a must-do, a matter of strategic compulsion. Mr Putin and team read the tea leaves well.
Now in the ensuing years, time has been bought to approach this crisis to not only match, but to have patiently exceeded the West’s capabilities. It was a sublime strategy, likely the only one if not wanting to waste lives unnecessarily and demoralize the population with a long, drawn-out, casualty-laden struggle. And this while coping with still recovering from the Western-inflicted obscenities of the 1990s. Every civilian life lost in the Donbas in this eight year interlude has weighed heavily on Russia’s leadership. And those poor innocents will not, and are not being forgotten by these greatest leaders of our time.
Meanwhile, the West in its conceit and hubris, thought it could and would always hold its position of supremacy, its sick amorality notwithstanding. Drunk on its perceived power, and judging by the bizarre yelps from certain U.S. Senators even today, drunker yet today. They cannot read either the tea leaves or the military specs of Russia’s newest weapons, apparently. Which goes to show how deranged by “Exceptionalism” they truly are.
The pain of wise leadership has never been felt so much by one man in modern times, in my opinion. Faced with the decades-long Western worldwide demonisation Mr Putin has—for his honorable actions—not only shows his strength of faith and quiet determination, but also exposes how depraved and evil is the West in trying to destroy a great leader and his great nation. Psychopaths and their minion sociopaths have made this a vicious and repulsive-to-good-men perverted tragedy. And a major interruption of humanity’s potential progress toward a higher and better way of life.
The “operating system” of the West is totally and irrevocably (at this point) infected with the worst kind of virus, and apparently willing to destroy all of the centuries of civilization’s painful advancement to this point. A sure symptom of a form of rabies has the West in its thrall.
I am hoping that, unlike in 2015, the USUKEU operatives, will be largely exterminated, save for a few who will be used to explain their intentions and motives, publically, for all the world to see and understand.
Of course, the West will state that what the captives preach is under false pretenses (threatened at gun point) much like the media portrayed of English speaking captives in Yugoslavia.
Entering Poland means entering NATO, that is EU countries fighting Russia in European soil, leading to the destruction of the EU, with the US , who started this war, intact, so that it comes then to rebuilt at whatever price and interest it decides….as happened after WWII.
The same goes for the Ukraine, Zelensky has already admitted that “military aid” does not come for free either, but under payement and interest
Yesterday i was viewing Oliver Stone´s documentary on the Ukraine war, banned at YouTube and the US, and noticed Yanukovich telling that when negotiating with the IMF, before the Maidan, they asked him to raise electricity and gas bills for the Ukrainan population while leaving the wages frozen…He refused and Maidan started.
Well, that is the process of full colonization we are suffering in the EU, with the unestimable help of Troy Horses in the European Comission ( like Von der Leyen, Thierry Breton, people who have positions at US corporations boards…) through the two years of pandemic, with increases of electricity and gas prices going on daily, each day reaching a new historiical high without stop in the horizon…We are being plundered on a daily basis and the people just dedicated to blame the scapegoat of the day signaled by the media also in hands of US hedge funds, the unvaccianted first, then the Russians, but nobody looks the other side of the Atlantic…
Borrell went on Twitter this past day when prices of gas and fuel escalated to estratospheric prices in just a day, out of pure especulation, since the bill of the Ukraine Russian operation has not yet been translated to the consumers bill, suggesting that we turn off the heat at home to not depend so much on Russian gas….The same btw, was done by President of Santander Bank, Patricia Botín, fix at Bilderberg….
This is the same people who asks us to not use our private cars, when they have private jets which contamine as much in a flight as communter through the whole year, and not eat meat either….while they give themselves the grear life at our expenses.
The EU must be purgued of traitors and foreign agents before we see peace and prosperity in Europe….
Putin must not stop to Brussels, in my view….otherewise, as Ishchenko warns it will happen with Ukraine, in 2, 5, 10 years from now we will find ourselves in the same point…
For the last 8 years I have suspected that pro-Russian Ukrainians are being systematically terrorized by criminal neo-Nazis, not only in the Donbass. We in the West were informed about the Odessa atrocity or massacre of 2014, that the local authorities refused to prevent the killings, and refused to prosecute, but somehow none of the human rights advocates in the West were interested. Why not? This is the very ugly face of the Atlanticist network. I remember that my grandfather believed that he was on a kill list of Swiss Nazis who were waiting for a German takeover. So they are still at it to this very day, aided and abetted by the USA. We must also remember that Zbigniev Brzezinski said to Osama bin Laden in the 1980s, “God is on your side”. We must remember that after the Irak invasion the US created a civil war between Shias and Sunnis by cancelling the Baath Party and that as a consequence the Islamic State was created. 800’000 Christians fled to Syria. This is the two-faced American Empire. Very bad people are in charge, working hand in hand with terrorists everywhere, also brutal dictators like Pinochet and Saddam Hussein until he was expendible. If only the few remaining God fearing Americans knew what is really going on in Ukraine, but they don’t.
you say: “We in the West were informed about the Odessa atrocity or massacre of 2014:”We in the West were informed about the Odessa atrocity or massacre of 2014”.
But – A prominent talking head in USA, professor of history at Yale, Timothy Snyder, writes in his book “The Road to Unfreedom” (p.213 paperback edition) that “the event in Odessa in May 2, 2014, “never took place”. I could not believe that a professor would write this.
Snyder – Snide in English means devious. Yale receive all sorts of donations/grants/fundraisers from .gov/business/.private; you take the money you pay the price. Discredited, but employed with cushy pension.
The CIA Skull & Bones & Other Sadists recruiting ground.
I, for one, am relieved, that the conversation on the Russian sphere is where it is at(if this is representative). It is almost unheard of in the media of natoistan, that the audience gets treated as adults. not even mentioning the ukie side…🙄
I see escalation inevidable. I do not think the x warsaw pact states have the will and the resources to avoid being drawn in – especially when you consider their territorial claims on ukraine. Some sort of a false flag here is most likely and there is of course the case of the arms shipments…
And of course, WHEN the borders open for male refugees, they will wreak ABSOLUTE havoc wherever they end up…
I share your concerns. USUK is angling to find a way to expand it.
The fear of Ishchenko is well founded – the longer this drags on, “[the] Poles resisting… and how long they will resist, we do not know. [@ 34:55]”
The Anglo-Saxons are adept at getting Poles to commit suicide! And what enticements are being offered, in addition to Galicia? What territories elsewhere? But Poles are currently disheartened by the efficiency of the “combined arms police action,” using second-rate troops, which is rapidly returning Novorussiya within about a month.
So they need escorting to their suicide. Perhaps a (1) major change in narrative (a big FF, global/Papal condemnation), (2) Russian strikes on their turf to activate Article 5, and (3) some big boys to step up in front of them?
(1) Rubio/Cookies prepared the FF narrative a few days ago.
(2) Russian Dep FM Ryabkov just threatened strikes on arms convoys: “Russia issues convoy warning to West” (RT) which may include on main staging areas in Poland.
(3) Borrell was promising as much – saying “Putin could expand military activities into a ‘NATO country,’ top EU diplomat claims” (RT) and cackling Kamela was just in Poland..
Poland will be the one to watch. It just might take the crazy leap again.
SUGGESTION: For Anglo native speakers and non-English speakers,
these English subtitles/captions are often 4 lines in height, filling the screen from left to right
– so these are long sentences with many commas…
which is typical for Russian to English translations, particularly when loaded with nuanced idiomatic expressions.
USE settings button to SPEED 0.75 (right bottom corner)- to give eyes and
what little un-brainwashed cerebral matters we Anglos have left
to fully assimilate and absorb Rostislav Ishchenko’s pertinent and wise words!!!!
Of course also PLAY/PAUSE controls…
Many, many thanks to Andrei, translators and Ishchenko’s for excellent in-depth presentation.
Excellent analyst, very cautious, maybe even a bit too much. Everything plausible to me, only his worries of Poland entering the fray seem overcautious. Poland is on the US leash, and US wants Russia discredited, ostracized and sanctioned, in order to lead her EU allies around like oxen. Until now they have been ordered about like fools, only. The US does not want a slightest chance of their own asses being burnt to ashes in any all-out with Russia. For that, they need to be more desperate then they are right now.
What does give Ishchenko an argument here is a possible Polish wish to take control of the western Ukraine.
From the same productors of “There can not be nazis in the Ukraine because its president is a Jew”, it arrives in your screens, “If I would not had done it, another one would had”….or how to get yourself rid of any possible umcomfortable guilt feeling….
