Dear friends,
I promised myself that I would go away from the keyboard but I could not, there is just so much going on! I am working on a analysis/commentary of the Strelkov press conference and I could need some help here. Can you help me find out which media did cover it and how?
For example, not a single Russian TV channel has said a word about it, at least so far or, if it has, then I missed it. I checked all the following ones:
REN-TV: nothing
Channel 1: nothing
News Russia 1: nothing
NTV: nothing
RT in English: nothing (at least on the website)
Then I looked at the big Russian newspapers (online and paper):
Rossiiskaia Gazeta: nothing
Vzgliad: nothing (that surprises me)
Regnum news agency: excerpts only
Lenta.ru: several short excerpts
I don’t have the time to continue checking media source, so if you could post in the comments section the names of the information outlets which did cover this press conference I would be very grateful.
Did anybody publish a full transcript?
Many thanks and kind regards,
The Saker

I was wondering about the exposure of Strelkov’s message in the media earlier on today and it appears to be totally blacked out everywhere. I asked few of my friends in Russia and it appears that the message is not in circulation at all.
It would be nice to have the English subtitles it text format too. I’d like to post them on Wikispooks. The subtitles .srt file would do fine
Constantinople TV did the interview and it had over 300,000 views already.

Allegedly full video of the press conference is at the website of the TV channel Dozhd: http://tvrain.ru/articles/press_konferentsija_igorja_strelkova_v_moskve_polnoe_video-375237/.
Also a short text there: http://tvrain.ru/articles/strelkov_rasskazal_o_podgotovke_ukrainy_k_masshtabnoj_vojne_s_rossiej-375240/
This is interesting, given the history of Dozhd and its position: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dozhd
Saker,
You may find it interesting that Max Seddon, heretofore completely full of snark and disdain for the NAF via the usually snarky news and cat pics ‘service’ Buzzfeed, had this to say on his Tweeter:
https://twitter.com/maxseddon/status/508952818360025090
It would appear the Ukie trolls are very angry with him for highlighting the Amnesty International report on the Aidar Battalion’s murders and kidnappings. I sense a disturbance in the usually reliable MSM in the tank for the Obama Administration, NATO and Kiev Force.
Next up for me: a look at Hungary. Although I speak Spanish I’m not much of an expert on what’s brewing in Spain and the Catalonia independence movement, which a small noisy group of fascists opposed. But I always felt the soft underbelly of both NATO and the EU(SSR) was the Mediterranean countries that have been brutally raped by austerity and have an entire ‘lost generation’ living with their parents or grandparents ready to explode into the streets. If there’s any place where the EU and the Empire deserve to get paid back in spades for their Colored Revolution shenanigans, it’s in Spain and Greece. Which makes me wonder if there are any ambitious Greek colonels left with an Orthodox Christian nationalist outlook and the ability unite wildly disparate factions against the common EUrocrat enemy…

Colonel Cassad’s very solid and informed summary and evaluation of Strelkov’s press conference today. Please you available online translators (as an instructor on long-term private sabbatical, I cannot do more).
Still few highlights from Cassad’s review:
1. “After social representatives and battlefield commanders influenced public opinion, Strelkov hit the final nail by moving (for many uninitiated into the subtleties of Novorrosiyan politics) from the unapparent into the open and confirmed the open protest of key Novorossiya leaders against the ‘Minsk truce.'”
2. The war is now moving into a new more open phase.
3. “In this respect, notable is received information that, already tomorrow, it is very likely that a large scale offensive of the junta is to start in addition to the next round of sanctions from the EU. At the same time, in the Far East, Russian troops are being moved into full alert and their readiness is to be tested for a case of attack. Scenarios are being warmed up so to speak.”

As for Russian TV channels, LifeNews and NTV made some small two minutes report about Strelkov’s statement. Media sites and news agencies mostly mentioned Strelkov’s remark concerning Boeng MH17.
Apparently Kremlin doesn’t want to give him public attention because of I think at least two reasons: to not promote relation of Russia with Novorossiyan resistance (Strelkov is an FSB colonel), and the second reason is that 5th column inside Kremlin doesn’t want to give popularity to its enemy. There might be also practical reasons – press conference was “private” – only those who were invited participated there, although even RenTV whose microphone you can see on video, seems doesn’t have anything related to this topic on their site.

Hi Saker,
Pushing Strelkov to oblivion has already begun, just as I have predicted. It’s best if you expect nothing from the Russian press about him, except for some short out of context excerpts in insignificant articles.
This is no war of civilizations, surely not a war between the Russian and Western civs, ‘cos these are hardly distinguishable. This is an imperial war where the West attacked Russia, and Russia is defending herself. But the real cause why the West must incite wars after wars is the general decline and crisis of capitalism and the rush for the last bits of resouces. The Novorossians have the opportunity of getting rid of this capitalist shit and Strelkov (perhaps against his conviction) actually recognized this dynamics and the power it could lend to the fight.
Regards, Balazs

Does somebody think the Japanese could be spurred to some sort of insane move against Sakhalin? I think the odds of that would be less than zero, given the likely explosion of Japanese public opinion against such a move, but there’s no doubt the Empire is trying to re-militarize Japan against China. Or is it simply to remind NATO that Russian troops can be moved from the Far East districts to Rostov region or dispatched to the Mediterranean (Syria) theater at any time?
I forgot to add to my mentions of MSM deviating from the Oceania Party line this article by Shawn Walker, in which multiple Azov Battalion fighters inform him that the Wolsfangel SS rune the battalion uses stands for the Latin/English letters NI or National Idea, not the Cyrillic/Ukrainian N and that they deny hating Russians or being Nazis, they just really like Nordic mythology and call themselves ‘national socialists’. On the flip side, at least one Azov fighter said he didn’t hate Strelkov but respected him and other great Russian nationalists, but hoped they’d overthrow Putin.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/10/azov-far-right-fighters-ukraine-neo-nazis
Another example of brilliant Russian tactics. Strelkov is already a military hero and legendary of Novorossiya – there is probably nothing he can do at the front right now that will make a substantial difference. But – he is back – and remains committed to Novorossiya – and safe in Moscow. A moral boost to the troops in the field. And working for the revolution. Saying what can’t be said by the Russian Federation. Furthering the reconciliation of the White and the Red, that can be the only way forward for Novorossiya, the Ukraine and Russia.
In addition to his September 11 press conference, Igor Strelkov also gave a shorter interview, in which he identified the main geopolitical purpose of Ukrainian Maidan: 1. create a hostile and active bridgehead of NATO against Russia, and 2. eventual, but planned expansion and transfer of the war unto the territory of Russia. At present, the war has mainly a character of national and civil war. The social aspect is not developed and is not significant at this moment. Another segment of this interview is to appear tomorrow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Px_1aYA8gKY
Once again surrendering to the UE:
Moscow on sanctions: ‘EU unwilling to see Russia’s ”efforts” on Ukraine’
http://rt.com/news/187116-eu-sanctions-russia-ukraine/
UE/US only understand and RESPECT force,nothing else…
Every time Moscow shows his weakness, they ll’ continue with even more sanctions…etc
And another ‘gift’ is coming up for Putin:Syria with regime change.
Who between Assad and Putin, will be the first to go?
I bet on Putin

I think big Russian media are at a loss how to handle the news. Strelkov’s “narrative” is definitely different from the prevailing narrative in Russian media.
And this also might explain (to a certain extent) why Dozhd TV channel put the video of the press conference at its website. Among other things, it might help them to support their image of a “bold” media outlet. And they might hope that their viewers would consider Strelkov an extremist or lunatic who is endangering ceasefire in the southeast of Ukraine(maybe some of the big Russian might fear the same – they might have decided not to devote attention to the press conference for the same reason.

The jaw, she drops. What we did to Europe with the last batch of sanctions We. Just. Did. To. Ourselves.
The incredible accuracy with which we just cut off our own nose to spite Russia’s face may be prima facie evidence of the lack in our current crop of diplomatic tyros of both a fact-based education and the IQ required to utilize it. Or something else entirely — but it still just boggles the mind.
For whatever it is worth, RT has started to implement a very strict moderation regimen which I suspect is automaticllay triggered by certain keywords, I wonder if the name Strelkov will be one of them, I will test this and see :-)

Hello,
published in French on site “Comité Valmy”
http://topwar.ru/57713-aleksandr-dugin-putin-strelkov-i-shestaya-kolonna.html
date 9 sept so before Strelkov conference, but very interesting, I had no idea that Putin was so closely surounded by traitors. And the West describe him as a dictator!
I wish Russia would intervene strongly like in Georgia. After the first shock the West would have to swallow it. I don’t think politics and dipplomacy will solve the present situation.
It seems like that the blackout is so organized that it had to be done on orders.
1) I think the purpose of Strelkov’s message was not to appeal to the broad public and rally the masses. Instead it was a signal to the patriots to unite, accept without question that Putin is their leader, and to get into the active phase and prepare against Maidan attempts. All who are needed for the task, the patriots, no doubt did and will get the message.
2) The problems that Strelkov addresses (5th column) must be solved behind closed doors, without much noise, and without it looking like Putin is “tightening the screws”. It can’t come by way of pressure by the masses because that would create too much unrest while now is a time where Russia needs stability and social coherency.
3) Strelkov accuses 5th column very high up for attempted betrayal of Novorussia. This is an extremely serious charge. There should not be a public hunt for such figures. Instead they should be removed quitely. The public shall not suspect that within the Russian government there are traitors so powerful that they can even compete with Putin, because this would significantly weaken the government as a whole.
4) Neither the cause not Putin need a cult around Strelkov. Strelkov doesn’t want to and can’t fulfill such a role. In terms of media appearance Strelkov’s role is that he embodies the archetype of the Russian patriot and soldier and that this archetype is absolutely loyal to Putin. If there is to be a “cult”, then only around Putin.
5) And most importantly Strelkov makes clear that his support for Putin is absolute, that Putin supports the Novorussian effort to get rid of the Kiev nazi junta, that Putin is not to be accused of betrayal of Novorussia. Strelkov eliminates the 5th column’s attempt to divide the patriots! Now the patriots will all stand united behind Putin.

Well, this is nothing else, just the answer that who is “ALSO” running the media in Russia. Hello? Even it is a little bit better than the world MSM.
This is another discovery for us……….
It is not surprising if Strelkov is not mentioned in main Russian media. Main theme now is the peace plan and accord, and the humanitarian situation. Thus, is not any news about Novorussian opposition towards Putins plan too disturbing?
I have noticed that for example Dugin, with his bellistic rhetoric, is less invited in the TVshows.

Yes, it’s very strange.
A couple of mentions from unfriendly outlets like Kyiv Post, and here at Moscow Times, but from from friendly media nothing at all.
Even Mark Sleboda of RT, previously an outspoken Strelkov fan, only had one retweet of a quote from the presser, made by another tweeter. Nothing else about Strelkov.
Not much comment on Twitter about the lack of coverage (in English, anyway – maybe there was a lot in Russian/other); a few comments like this were all I found.

Saker,
More on localization vs globalization from The Automatic Earth:
“The symbolic value of what is going to happen in Scotland is very important,” said Gerolf Annemans, president of Vlaams Belang, a Flemish party calling for Flanders to secede from Belgium. “Marching toward independence and the reshuffling of the older nation states is a logical evolution, and Scotland, Catalonia and Flanders are pieces of that new Europe.” The Scottish vote has sharpened the divide in Europe between competing schools of thought. One says that globalization and a hyper-connected world mean the continent should consign cultural and ethnic tensions to history. The other says the European Union is exactly the framework in which regions and provinces can assert their identities and thrive. That would mean “a Europe of peoples and regions where the Bavarians can be Bavarians instead of Germans,” Ibon Areso, the mayor of Bilbao, the economic capital of Spain’s Basque region, said in an interview. “A Europe that is more a Europe within which different identities can live together more easily.”

“That was a strange tactic of the English party leaders, to try and convince Scotland not to vote for independence from England, by sending up all the English people they dislike the most, who have made them consider independence in the first place. If that doesn’t work maybe Cameron will dig up Thatcher and send her to the middle of Glasgow as well.”

El Murid wrote that only a few journalists were invited. He says that Strelkov will give a “normal press conference” in two weeks.
This will be a real test of how open the Russian mainstream media is. Will it permit opinions like Strelkov’s that strongly run counter to official policy be aired and debated openly? We will see.

Saker,
I couldn’t find anything in the Russian press about Strelkov’s appearance, but I did find the following:
German Foreign Ministry: The Malaysian Boeing was most likely not shot down by a Buk (in Russian)
The report draws the reader’s attention to answers that were provided by the Foreign Ministry to questions posed by Bundestag members from the Left Party. This especially is of interest:
What information does the Federal government and/or the intelligence community have with regards to radar or other activity relating to rocket installations on 17 July 2014?
Based on information available to the Federal government, one can draw no certain conclusions concerning the deployment of any antiaircraft warheads against the airliner (MH17).
In response to another question, the ministry says that AWACS detected radar emissions from one Buk system. This is the first I hear of this from a Western source. It is consistent with what was said at the press conference given by the Russian defense ministry.
It’s interesting that the Russian press is reporting this very interesting document produced by the German foreign ministry, but the German press isn’t, AFAIK.

I think there is probably a hidden link(unclear for the moment)between the new UE/US sanctions into effect from this friday, the start of the NATO drills next monday and maybe the announcement by ‘terrorist in chief’about the US going for ISIS soon and of course regime change in Syria.
We may expect all types of provocations including false flags which would be the perfect excuse for the Junta to restart their operations against NAF army.
Or it is also possible due to realpolitiks, that the Nobel War prize Obama talk to Putin about Syria and ISIS,in the back of the neocons like last year,to achieve some kind of global deal.
Syria is all about Energy and a direct threat to Gazprom future.
I hope Putin will not exchange NR against some pipelines?

I dont even know why his conference is “historic” like you wrote.
Did he say anything other than Putin is surrounded by liberals who are bad influence or traitors and the ceasefire was bad for NVR?
I might have missed it… dunno?
he didn’t say anything that changes anything, right?
Anon Mongoose,
Hmmm. I remember they said they wouldn’t adhere to the other one(s?), but are you sure they’re not a US company? I thought they were pretty Rockefeller-ish… Otoh, why should we believe anything any one of them says? I also suspect some big European corporations may not be following the, erm, letter of certain sanctions either. After all, in Neoliberal Capitalism, you get to make your own rules, right? I mean, they do…

@American Kulak:
Spain is indeed boiling and ripe for upheaval; it was like that even long before the economic crisis and mass unemployment without prospects for improvement in the future.
The past, the civil war, is all very real and present in Spain. 20 years ago I saw a French tourist chased out of a graveyard by locals for daring to photograph a wall pockmarked by bullets from an execution during the civil war.
It was a very “homey” intimate press conference, and probably not made for wide distribution…the people he wanted to speak to, they definitely heard Strelkov.
To Nora and Mongoose — As a Texas Company, ExxonMobile doesn’t give a chit what the US gov’t says. I won’t be surprised if ExxonMobile ends up merging outright with Gasprom or Rosneft. Frankly, Texans (minus the Zionists) and Russians are much more in cync than not. I am not a Texan. But I know them well. The oil producers. And they ALL like Putin. It’s a crazy world.
@American Kulak:
Since June, the Spanish Interior Ministry has signed four contracts for the purchase of protective vests, shields and other riot gear. These weapon purchases are causing many to relive very bad memories in Spain. Spain has also bought water canons, a weapon that by the end of the Franco dictatorship was in continuous use. Opposition leader Antonio Trevin called the purchase therefore “a return to the times we would rather forget.” The Interior Ministry has responded merely justifying their rearming as necessary “because of the current social dynamics”, reports the Guardian.
The protests are mainly directed against the always new austerity measures, tax increases, the extremely high youth unemployment, homelessness following the bursting of the housing bubble, and also against a restrictive policy such as the recent bill to ban abortions. Then there is the movement to establish a referenda for the abolition of the monarchy.
Then throw in the separatist movement as we see in Scotland where the Catalans are moving for their independence. There were protests against the recent visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel that had to be violently dispersed by the government.
Spain is moving toward civil war.
Even the human rights organization Amnesty International has expressed concern over the arming of the police. the police are there to protect the government – not the people. That is a dangerous position that sets the stage for civil war.

Found it on TV rain
I keep seeing how Russian media is controlled by putin, but when ever I check the moscow times they always haev dire predictions about how bad things are and how it is going to get worse. Most of the time I get the feeling they want me to go to some gay bar in moscow and get drunk.
I read an interesting article in the Want China Times posted on 11 September 2014 regarding Russia’s contribution to the new $40 Billion China led Nicaragua Canal project. Website reference: http://www.wantchinatimes.com/news-subclass-cnt.aspx?cid=1101&MainCatID=11&id=20140911000022. This canal will be in competition to the Panama Canal.
Extracts of note from the article :
“According to diplomatic sources, Russia’s involvement in the project will be in the form of military support to ensure safety during the construction process. Nicaragua will allow Russian fleets to patrol the Pacific and Caribbean coasts of the country”
“Nicaragua will allow Russia to deploy its flotilla from the Atlantic to the Pacific quickly, said Evseev. “Russia will gain lots of mobility, especially if Russian naval bases are deployed in Cuba,” he continued. “The canal’s proximity to the US soil makes the passing significant.”
“The canal will “open a new gate” for Russia as the country could effectively contain NATO’s military deployments on the border between Russia and Eastern European countries, and expand its trade with Latin America.”
The article quotes the reference source as Wang Jing. He owns and his Chairman of HKND Group which will construct and manage the canal on a 50 year concession basis. Information on the project is available on their website. Major economic growth potential for Nicaragua.

Thanks a lot for the transcript. This was really useful.
posted at youtube by Bazov, subtitles from Kazzura. Just google keywords Srelkov interview youtube.
This is not being generally broadcast in either Russia or the West. So to me that means that it is a message for Novorossiyans primarily. The Russian government could not give this message directly to the people of Novorossiya as it would be diplomatically unwise, so they are using Strelkov to deliver it in an ‘unofficial’ low-key manner.
In the message it is important to pass on to the Novorossiyans that:
1) Putin is surrounded by wolves in sheep’s clothing, who are not motivated by love of Russia but by wealth and power.
2) Putin is aware of this and who they are, and that processes are in place to fight them, and eventually destroy them.
3) The people should trust Putin as their supreme commander and leader to guide them through this, and should make no attempt to fight his judgement at this time during conflict of war.
4) That Putin and the Novorossiyan leadership consider this war and the survival of Novorossiya as crucial to Russia’s survival and that Novorossiya can count on Russia’s support.
5) This so-called cerasefire is an opportunity for the Nazis to regroup and consolidate and resupply their forces, but that both Russia and the Novorossiyan leadership is keenly aware of that and are making their own plans to counter it.
This (a message from a trusted member of the Novorossiyan leadership) was actually a very good way of communicating these things to the Novorossiyans outside of normal channels as it provides cover for the Russian government.
My opinion only.
