I am utterly inundated at the moment so I can’t unfortunately say much other than that on the subject of the Ukraine we are in entire agreement. In fact I have found your commentary immensely helpful.
Briefly, here is a full transcript of Putin’s news conference from the Kremlin’s website.
Secondly, the regional administrative building in Donetsk has been reoccupied by pro Russian protesters. I get the sense the police there are going through the motions of obeying Kiev’s orders (much like some of the units in the Crimea) but without much enthusiasm.
If you really want truth in Russia, then maybe you and your friends should complete the translation of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s book “200 Years Together (with the Jews).”
It was pretty clear from the way events unfolded that Ukrainian security service (SBU) was involved in the coup. Turns out that there is evidence that Valentin Nalivaychenko – the “new” head of SBU in the putchist government (in quotes because he was head of SBU under Yuschenko in 2006-2010 when he presided over its reformatting and its infiltration by cadres loyal to the US) – was tightly connected to the Trizub organization that formed the core of the fascist Right Sector organization that carried out the coup. It is freely available on youtube:
The person introducing him in military uniform is the leader of the Right Sector Dmytro Yarosh.
The The essense of his speech is that Ukraine under internal occupation and we can only fight this occupation using our strength, which can only come from organized resistance…Organizations like yours will be instrumental in this fight for Ukraine.
Let me tell you that I’d LOVE to read the translation to English of Solzhenitsyn’s book “200 Years Together (with the Jews).”
If I was a Russian speaker myself, that’s the first work I’d participate in translating to English. It’s great there is such a project as linked to by Anonymous.
Here is an article (on a controversial website), explaining that the oligarchs who had looted Russia and were about to dismember it, made a huge mistake in choosing Putin as their ‘fall-guy’.
Apparently, although he has made much progress, he still has difficulty in getting his officials to obey him.
It looks as if their friends are now trying a similar trick in Ukraine.
@Gagarin Thespaceman: I am extremely disappointed in Abby Martin’s stance, but at least I think that she is acting according to her conscience, something which I will always respect: she says that she is against *any* military intervention no matter what. I disagree, but I respect that.
But Liz Wahl, with her references to how her family fled from what was a real Soviet invasion – she just goes to show that she is a dumb bimbo who, as she said, is “proud to be an American” and still stuck in the Cold War mentality. This begs to the question of what the hell she was doing working for RT anyway?!
Sad, RT deserves better. Oh well, this too shall pass.
“QUESTION: I want to come back to the West’s reaction. As all this tough talk continues, we have the Paralympics opening in a few days’ time in Sochi. Are these Games at risk of ending up on the brink of disruption, at least as far as international media coverage goes?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: I don’t know, I think it would be the height of cynicism to put the Paralympics at risk. We all know that this is an international sports event at which people with disabilities can show their capabilities, prove to themselves and the entire world that they are not people with limitations, but on the contrary, people with unlimited possibilities, and demonstrate their achievements in sport. If there are people ready to try to disrupt this event, it would show that these are people for whom there really is nothing sacred.”
That last line describes the NWO perfectly. These are people completely adrift from all humanistic and civilised norms. Even uncivilised norms. Anything goes with these people, as long as they can get away with it without personal discomfort.
Is there anything you won’t criticise Putin/Russia for?
The fact is that Russia’s actions in the Crimea have been a total disaster its worst foreign policy adventure in decades using a blatant unprovoked use of force to occupy a region of another country and were totally unnecessary from where they had traded a strong hand they have for a weak one.
So yes Abby and Liz are right.
God forbid that someone like Abby would have a very mild criticism of Putin’s/Russia’s actions.
In this press conference, Putin stated that “No Russian troops are patrolling the streets of Crimea” (paraphrasing it as I remember it). This got me thinking that if Putin isn’t lying, and I don’t think he is, what can this mean?
Then it hit me. The Warsaw Pact and the Soviet military must have know about the NATO “stay behind armies” created all over Western Europe. This is a sound military concept, so it seems likely that Soviet military planners created the same kind of forces. And, like the NATO armies, they had to be kept hidden from successive government in all the Warsaw Pact countries. Why? Because of leaks and independence minded countries like Hungary would discover and undermine them.
We know about the stay behind armies because of the terrorism trials in Italy, where this information was exposed, along with the strategy of tension, which we are all familiar with. Since we haven’t seen this kind of secret force exposed in the former Soviet Bloc countries could simply mean that enough time hasn’t passed. Nothing can be hidden forever. Nothing.
I’m going to open this with a quote from “A Psychological Warfare Casebook,” an anthology on propaganda’s use in warfare. This is from page 38.
8. The central substance of propaganda is hard, correct information. “If you give a man the correct information for seven years, he may believe the incorrect information on the first day of the eight year when it is necessary, from your point of view, that he should do so. Your first job is to build the credibility and the authenticity of your propoganda, and persuade the enemy to trust you although you are his enemy.”
After 35 years of trying, failing, and trying again and again to find reliable sources of evidence and facts, the above statement seems to meet the definition of most “alternative” media sources. And I keep this statement in mind, “The CIA owns everyone of any significance in the major media” – attributed to Former CIA director, William Colby. In other words, the so-called “independent/alternative press” for the most part follow the Lenin model of: “If there’s going to an opposition, we will lead it.” Also known as the controlled opposition.
Nevertheless, noting that even these kinds of sources need to, “…give a man the correct information…” for a large portion of the time, I read all sorts of websites and take what seems to be correct, useful, and verifiable, and disregard what is false or harmful.
With that preface, I found this translation of a Czech article titled: “Who is Putin?” on one such website that, for the most part, I find distasteful, but sometimes there is a gold nugget like this. This article gives us a profile of Putin and his hidden struggles with those inside the media and his own government that are opposing him. After I read this, I can only compare him to Kennedy, the man that the elite inside the U.S. thought would be their puppet, but he turned on them and proved to be one of the greatest presidents of the U.S., as Putin will likely be remembered as one of the greatest leaders of Russia ever, maybe even the greatest. Time will tell.
Just a side note, I sent this “stormer” an email, advising him that Staker is an expert on all things Eastern European. Nary a note on his site or response back to me. Thus, I have to assume that this is likely an intelligence agency honey pot, rather than a real Neo-Nazi site. Years ago, I remembered reading about an American communist front called, if memory serves me correctly, “World Workers something or other.” It turns out it the so-called “Central Committee” was entirely made up of F.B.I. plants from some right-wing, fundamentalist, Christian sect. They had no membership, either, just a fake Central Committee.
I’ll end this with a quote from Francis Bacon: “Truth is the daughter of time, not of authority.”

There is a PDF copy of volume two (in Russian) at

Only chapter 15: “Among Bolsheviks,” from volume two has not been translated. So starting there would be sensible.
