A few latest happenings and statements:
Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui: “We must put an end once and for all to the hegemony of the United States, with its eternal desire to interfere in the affairs of sovereign states”
The following is non-trivial and has been widely reported: Wu Qian, the spokesperson of the Information Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China, quoted defense minister Wei Fenghe saying “If anyone dares to split Taiwan from China, the Chinese army will definitely not hesitate to start a war no matter the cost,” during a meeting with Lloyd Austin. https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/china-will-not-hesitate-to-start-war-over-taiwan—mod
Medvedev: “Russia’s achievement of the goals of the special operation in Ukraine should lead to the creation of a new non US centric system of international security.”
Lavrov: “The more long-range weapons supplied by the West to Ukraine, the further Moscow will move the line of threat from Neo-Nazis to the Russian Federation.”
Putin: “I would like to begin by saying the following. We live in an era of change; this is obvious to everyone; everyone understands and sees this. Geopolitical, scientific and technological transformations are happening. The world is changing, and it is doing so rapidly. In order to claim some kind of leadership – I am not even talking about global leadership, I mean leadership in any area – any country, any people, any ethnic group should ensure their sovereignty. Because there is no in-between, no intermediate state: either a country is sovereign, or it is a colony, no matter what the colonies are called.” http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/68606
The China/Russia bridge linking the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk to the Chinese city of Heihe across the Amur River – known in China as Heilongjiang – was opened on Friday with a distance of just over one kilometer. https://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2022/06/11/683695/Russia,-China-open-cross-border-bridge-to-expand-ties-amid-hostile-US-vows
Finally, bye-bye G7 – Welcome to the Big 8
“The group of eight countries not participating in the sanctions wars – China, India, Russia, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Iran, Turkey – in terms of GDP at PPP is 24.4% ahead of the old group,” Volodin, Russian State Duma speaker. https://www.rt.com/russia/556987-g8-volodin-bloc-us/

Lavrov: “The more long-range weapons supplied by the West to Ukraine, the further Moscow will move the line of threat from Neo-Nazis to the Russian Federation.”
Such an excellent quip from Lavrov.
Quip, sounds more like a promise, Lucky.
What will Europe do now for the tables are turning on Zelenskyy even Biden is “throwing him under the bus” zerohedge.com . It was said a long time ago that Europe would turn to Russia. I’m sure they will.
Europe will do what it always does: “when America slays, Europe pays”
Europe is not turning to Russia, Europe wants to fight to the last man in Ukraine BUT they don’t realize the consequences they will be facing. Europe lead by the US is being thrown under the bus.
Europe LED by the US . . .
Hear! Hear!
Ou moverá pra frente expandindo o cinturão de segurança.
In retrospect, would it have made more sense for the Russians on the first day to have taken down the Ukie power grid using 50 to 100 missiles on the major west Ukie power substations? No modern society functions in the dark without communications, infotainment, commerce, internet, etc. The 20 million refugees generated would have overwhelmed the pathetic EuroWeanie satraps. Also on the first day of the invasion, cut all power to the Baltics and shut down all gas / oil pipelines to the Dysfunctional EuroWeanies. The end result would have been the same (Ukie capitulation), but achieved quickly with far less bloodshed and destruction to infrastructure.
I understand what you are saying, and why you think it would have worked, but may I suggest that such a move would have caused an immediate escalation by the West, and would have resulted in even more one-sided propaganda ensuring the Western populace would be behind the mobilization.
I think the Russians have realized that the best war is a ‘boring’ war – no nightly clips of drones guiding bombs on CNN – just a few explosions in the woods. The Ukrainians and Western media have done their best to gin up support with the mass murder stories that they have now had to admit were untrue, but even at the peak, most people are “Ukraine? I’m more worried about paying my bills.” It would be folly for the Russians to rouse that torpid citizenry.
I agree. Russia is doing this thing exactly right. Preserving their own forces and limiting, as much as possible, the suffering of the Ukrainian people.
Mr. Frank, since the beginning, Mr. Putin said that he sees the ucranian people like russian people. He is trying to show to the ucranians that the SMO is not targeted against them, but against those who are threatening the russian people and territory. The west probably is disappointed with the way that russians are taking this operation. Better was if Putin had ordered hundreds of missiles/bombs on the ucranian territory, killing thousands of inocent people. Fortunately for us, this did not happen.
Yes, demonstrating that _ We are not like the American Butchers who care nothing about disguising friend from foe . . . . Such a strategy definitely upsets washington & london.
FrankDrakman: The best war is a ‘boring’ war. . . . . It would be folly for the Russians to rouse that torpid citizenry.
And the Training the troops now have under their belts is “pure gold”.
Likewise the lesson for the future on; how to prepare a mass Media counter narrative
Absolutely 100++
The USA is already bored. They view it as a football game and Russia is winning big. Like your favorite team losing big on TV, you turn off the game. The finger pointing in Wash DC-Biden Admin-Pentagon-Intel agencies has started. They will end up blaming Ukraine.
Let’s look at the calendar. Not too far from heading into July. Gonzalo Lira said the rubber meets the road starting in October aka Europeans will know Old Man winter is knocking on the door.
I read something that real panic in Europe may set in around August over energy for winter. August is very soon.
Finally, Hal Turner’s web site said Germany said no more tanks because they cannot build them due to lack of (Russian) titanium. The USA SR-71 was built with Soviet titanium bought through CIA shell companies to avoid the Soviets knowing they were building a super spy jet.
Hal Turner said that NATO can never beat the Russians on a battlefiend because Russia controls titanium.
True. Blitzkrieging Kiev was similarly a bad idea for the Russians, which would cause NATO to rally around the Ukrainians, and the Ukies’ army would still be mostly intact.
How they’re doing it now is much better.
Russia should out-Nato Nato? Fight war crimes with more of the same? All shall love me and despair!? We’ve seen what living by the sword has done to the west. The rest of the world is looking to Russia to do better.
Yes, but the rest of the world does not yet command any solid Media and lacks soft power.
It will take some time.
However, this kind of SMO has several other advantages, let s see:
1- First and foremost keeps Moscow s options open , say as to take or nor more territories
2- Introducing russian currency, aid a benevolent mood to local administration on the
conquered regions
3- Keeping public support at home for its much lesser qty of russian casualties.
4- Ensuring that Ukronian resistance gets weaker every day.
5- Tightening by the economic side all the pain screws on Europe inflation, disruption of supplies), uncertainty. They ‘re used to confort not to any hardships of life.
6- Not least but last, letting the Langley, Capitolium, Washinton, and wall st guessing indefinitely WHAT will Putin do with all the tactical disavantage it implies.
I agree with everything you said. What I was objecting to was the typically western, ‘Kill all let God sort them out’ hubris represented by the original poster.
no, just no. Cutting all power to a country bring the entire population to medieval lifestyle in no longer than 1 week for the civilian population, but in reality doesn’t achieve much on a military point of view – they have their own way.
Russia is not interested in making suffer the Ukrainian population. They just annihilate the opponent’s army, that’s the goal.
You must be an exceptional person full of empathy and compassion for poor Ukrainians living under neo Nazi’s for the past eight years or more.
Less bloodshed? And all those people on some form of life support or requiring medical intervention daily, just f them eh?

The 8 year silence by the West screams: the suite case’s stuffed with bundles of US 100 dollar bills being delivered by a regular, reliable service to the elected and unelected boot lickers.
It never fails to amaze me how some mass murders don’t count for some folks. The ukieNazis are still murdering civilians with short range rockets and artillery in the Dombas. ( not to mention murdering their own troops and civilians trying to surrender.)
The new super dooper long range American missile systems will provide plenty of casualty rate intelligence. Think Hiroshima & Nagasaki, WW2 was over when they dropped the fat boy.
Legally there is such a term as “accessory before and after the fact..” If someone is comfortable living with it on this earth their day of judgement awaits them. WAR Its all about “Big money, nothing more nothing less.”
When this war is all over the big money moves to the South China Sea with consummate ease , those who survive will still be suffering from their wounds : be they Ukraine or Russian.
Actually, you are better off not doing things that give moral authority to the enemy. Right now, Russia controls the moral authority sphere with the West having biolabs and funding Nazi’s.
The Russian’s are currently fighting Ukrainians that had 8 years to build defensive positions. If Russia moves the border, Russia will have to build a new defensive line from scratch.
Far better for Russia to complete their operation, build a new defensive line and then give the West moral authority in bits and pieces. That would be the smart way to lure the West into the new “Russian Calderon of Death”. Russia can then meter Western boots on the ground at the pace of their choosing.
If the USA fails to act, Russia wins. If the US acts, Russia wins. That is called a win/win situation and everybody like a win/win.
Putin is a strategic thinker who does what is in the long-term interest of his country. He is not a psychopath controlled by his emotions like Western politicians. That’s why Putin in winning.
The same Shock and Awe bombings as the USA did on Baghdad on 2003.
If they can do that they can hardly complain when Mother Russia does the same.
That’s not the point, though. The point is to ask one question: What are the results? Other than temporarily sating Americans’ gladiator style sadism against women and children, what exactly did ‘Shock and Awe’ accomplish?
Let’s take another example. In 2015 Turkey shot down a Russian SU-24 jet that had allegedly strayed into Turkish air space for about 12 seconds. A Turkish F-16 had been obviously lurking in the shadows of Russian radar hoping for just such an opportunity. President Putin decried Erdogan’s stab in the back. He then proceeded to visit awesome shocks and shocking awesomeness upon the neo-Sultan in the form of…, strongly worded replies, complaints registered with the UN, and sanctions against Turkey. He may have unfriended him, as well.
Internet chair pundits everywhere peed their pants proclaiming this non-action as proof of Putin’s cowardice, lack of resolve, lack of a backbone, and general lack of testosterone producing glands proving what a joke he was. They wanted another gladiator fight involving Turkish civilians.
And the results? Within a few years Turkey was under serious economic stress due to the loss of Russian business and tourism. A few years after that the noose tightened, pressure mounted, and the worm turned. Erdogan was forced to publicly apologize to and make reparations to the families killed in the incident. Today you see that same awesomely shocking Sultan posturing himself to be a gas hub for Mideastern gas, including Russian gas, keeping NATO warships out of the Black Sea, as well as playing Russia’s turd in NATO’s punch bowl of Finish and Swedish ascension to the NATOpia club. Awesome.
Of course, the slippery Sultan could decide to betray Russia again tomorrow if he thinks the winds are turning westward again. The enemy of my enemy is an opportunity for me, after all. If he did, Russia would be prepared for that, too.
But for now, which proved to produce the better results?
Destroying the energy grid (as well as the complete descruction of civil infrastructure) is the U$ playbook, would cause a humanitarian catastrophe, and is forbidden by the Geneva Convention – all reasons why Russia doesn’t.
Russia is abiding by international law, another thing the U$ is utterly incapable of.
I’m reading:
– Von Der Leyen visits Kiev for talks about Ukrains EU application.
– Ukraine starts with preparation for Eurosong contest.
These people are completely insane, what reality do they live? There will be no more Ukraine. This has become a really bad tv-show. Zelensky regime doesn’t care about Ukraine, they don’t even care about the lives of Ukrainians.
I heard Justin Beiber will be singing at the UKraine singer contest, with the half of his face that ain’t damaged from a hacksxxxxine. Go team
Go brandON
I hear, from the USA’s National Public Radio, that sanctions are hitting the Russian population hard.
Already, it is virtually impossible for Moscow collectors to purchase a “first press” vinyl Michael Jackson record… at any price.
I am not making this up.
msm is informing me russia cant access botox treatment and russias wealthy class are upset. of all the sanctions to bite, this has to be the worst. /s
Answer to this lack of access to Botox. Go to food warehouse garbage pile, look for swollen cans, you have a lifetime’s worth of home made Botox treatment.
Rolling on the floor, laughing! Thank you for this!!
Headlines today has Biden blaming Zelensky for the debacle. The blame game continues .
That’s really good. US as always making enimies worldwide. Who can garantee that these ucranian militants will not go agains US for treason, creating a new 9/11 scenario?
A link would be helpful.
Well, the story according to Biden, is that Zelensky did not heed the warnings from US IC that Russia was going to invade so the whole war is now Zelensky’s fault.
The US House should be starting the Zelensky impeachment hearings shortly.
So, World War III is happening before our eyes. The kinetic part is limited to the future Autonomous Repulic of Ukraine, Russian Federation…. for now.
If things heat up, which I suspect they will, I expect China to open a second front in the pacific. This will force the USA to commit its vaunted Carrier Battle Groups or accept humiliation and defeat.
I am an American, my family has lived in North America for 400 years. We were here before the United States was a thing and I am determined that we shall remain after this ‘Enlightenment’ experiment has passed.
Deo Vindice!
USA to commit its vaunted Carrier Battle Groups or accept humiliation and defeat.
Both I should imagine.
My fam has lived here for 10s of thousands of years. We apparently missed the ‘Enlightenment’ phase. If we had it to do over we shouldn’t have been so kind.
Have a nice weekend.
My family has also been here for thousands of years. One of my ancestors was on the ark and claimed Noah as his “Dad.”

There are a lot of 1000 year old people out there, they only give us the ones that live a 100 years.
If there are 1,000 year old people out there, I suspect they celebrate their birthdays alone. As George Burns once said, “I recently had a party to celebrate my 99th birthday and I invited all my friends. But, no one came. They were all dead.”
The protoplasm that was my ancestor would float in it’s grave at such words
@ZhukovG: With all due respect, people who think like that are wrong. That’s Armageddon. Remind you Mike Tysson: Everyboddy got a plan until their face get punched. Armageddon is humanity’s face getting punched. Kindest regards!
G7 – population around 750 million
Big 8 – population around 4.2 billion
When you have a population disparity this large GDP per ppp is pointless as these 8 countries have well over half the world’s people and this doesn’t factor in each of the big 8’s trading partners.
I saw a map and graph of foreign trade then and now. Conservatively, the USA had 75% some decades ago but now has 25% and a cookie for a right guess who now has 75%. It’s GAME OVER a long time ago but nobody heard the referee’s whistle!
The number 8 (fat) symbolises (good) luck.

Has anyone found/read a collated and full “debunking” analysis of Bucha accusations? Seems like a lot of the debunking was happening in the first weeks after the accusations….but where does the “debate” stand now. Feels like this false flag event was swept under the carpet after the Human Rights Council vote and now the West just accepts it as true. Any updates?

Odessa next? With Shoigu confirming the solid establishment of a land bridge to Crimea and Kherson enabling huge rail shipments of military hardware to the area, Mercouris at the duran believes it is increasingly obvious that Russia is preparing for a big push and takeover of Odessa. He is convinced that Russian liberation of Odessa is relatively imminent and that the build up of armaments along the land bridge indicates this.
He does not think that Russian public opinion would accept a halt to the military operation short of Odessa and says in fact that not only does he think that Russia will take Odessa but may well go even beyond it.
Is Odessa next? It’s a good question. Odessa has been a bone of contention for nearly 20 years:
“The Bush administration was particularly keen to see a pro-Western figure as president to ensure control over a key pipeline running from Odessa on the Black Sea to Brody on the Polish border.” *
This was back in 2004. The “key” is the Odessa-Brody pipeline. As you can see in this map, it connects the Black Sea to Europe by means of Hungary and Slovakia (and possibly Poland):
http://www.pub22.net/maps/odessa-brody-pipeline-map-ukraine.jpg
If Odessa remains vulnerable, the United States and other Western powers will, I imagine, continue to interfere in Ukrainian politics. This interference, no doubt, will be carried out under the names of “democracy” and “freedom” — this is how the Orange Revolution was orchestrated.

Mercouris? well, come on, sure he is liked by many of us because he supports the cause, but he is no expert, I don’t think he is in a position to make any predictions.
I have to say, I do hope Russia will take Odessa, hopefully without incurring heavy losses.
Odessa is a tough nut to crack while observing the policy of minimal collateral damage. That said, Russia would be foolish not to make an attempt if for no other reason than to have more bargaining chips at the negotiating table.
However, without committing roughly double the forces now engaged, Odessa is off the table. Once the eastern front straightens out I believe it will quiet considerably, making a redeployment possible.
This is why Ukraine’s only “offensive” operation is in the far north. Ties down Russian troops as far as possible away from the vulnerable south.
I believe by the time Russia is ready to move on Odessa either a) Ukraine will be so weakened as to make resistance futile or b) NATO will intervene with boots on the ground.
No reason why Russian forces can’t outflank Odessa – go right to Transnistria and cut off any outlet to the Black Sea, Odessa will fold eventually.
I suspect, as david pointed out above, that Russia is managing a finite amount of resources (so far) hence cannot really open a new demanding front such as Odessa is likely to be until other areas are truly “done”. Remember, for example, that the ucr rats continue shelling cities in Donbass; there is quite a bit of work to do there still.
Outflanking would be an option if Russia decided to commit more forces, which I am not sure I’d like to see at all.
Mercouris supports the cause, well, the man is an analyst, and takes the wide perspective angle on current affairs, has done for a while it seems, how long exactly I don’t know, probably first beginnings in the 1980’s, anyhow, new beginnings even now, two new lives in a lovely family, you never know what the future holds;)
There’s Odessa as a city and as the region. Odessa city is the Hero city of the WW2. The Russian forces can go around the Odessa city and move down the Odessa region, enclosing the Odessa city between them and the sea. Once, that happens, there might be a revolt within the city — not everyone loves the Ukie Nazis.
Russian missiles had damaged the railway bridge in Zatoka. Once, the Russian forces go all the way up to Izmail, even Romania’s sea access is troubled. Bucharest will be in land missile range ~300km, not that the Russian ships can’t reach it. Once, Russia captures the Odessa region, both Romanian and Bulgarian sea access is endangered — teach them a lesson.
Russia does not have the naval resources to ensure Black Sea supremacy. What it is seeking is northern Black Sea supremacy, which is why taking Odessa is a foregone conclusion. Remember Azbakia? Their independence confined Georgia to the southern sea.
Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky will be a part of Russia and will serve as a check on Constanja, which is a theoretical but not necessarily practical threat. Moldovia is landlocked and will remain so. Bulgaria is too far south. I would expect a more aggressive assertion of Turkey’s dominance in the southern sea, which will operate in Russia’s interest.
Romania and Bulgaria are no threat to Russia and form a reasonably neutral barrier. They need to be reassured that Russia has no intention to invade or bully them, on condition that they don’t go full NATidiot.
In your place I would go with option a).
Option b) will result in total annihilation of NATO if they so much as even TRY to put any “boots on the ground” there – faster than you can blink. Clear now?
Surely ‘odessa next’ is essential? Transnistria needs to be brought into the novorussiya also given it;s palpable vulnerability where things currently lie. But black sea needs to tied up by liberating the heroic city and hunting donw the war ciminals who slaughtered so many in the 2014 massacre
“The group of eight countries not participating in the sanctions wars – China, India, Russia, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Iran, Turkey – in terms of GDP at PPP is 24.4% ahead of the old group,” Volodin, Russian State Duma speaker.
De dollarization is on it’s way my friends. 5-7 years. Plan accordingly
“De dollarization” as you call to it is already here. A quick check of the Rub vs Usd on any stock exhange shows the Rub falling steadily numerically (gaining value) against the Usd.
Since the imposition of sanctions against RU only 4 months ago, when it’s value decreased against the usd, the reverse is now true. A simple projection places it on par with the Usd in the near future over months. Not “5-7 years.”
Only a few weeks ago threats were made to bring scandinavian countries into the nato fold. How did that work out? The war’s as good as over and Ukraine still isn’t counting it’s dead, leaving many people asking questions. And more questions will come, not less. Truth will prevail. Not lies.
It won’t be long before western alliance countries of EU figure out they were duped. One country folded to an energy deal with Russia already. Others will follow.
I’m guessing that won’t take 5-7 years either.
As soon as the Ukrainian Army folds, events will be happening so fast that it will resemble Trumps statement of ” too much winning Mr. President”! I agree that we are talking months and not years.
Punisher,
5-7 years is realistic timeline for complete de-dollarization.
agreed that de-dollarization is already well under way. However, the dollar still remains the big reserve currency (60% of central bank reserves).
$30 trillion in financial assets is held by foreigners in the US. That’s the big kahuna of de-dollarization. When that amount starts to decrease ‘significantly’, Then De-Dollarization will be underway big time. taking one’s investments out of US accounts takes time and effort. It’s not done all at once. Rather, it’s done a little at a time over the course of years. There is a lot of inertia in the world of finance.
Complete De-dollarization means collapse of the Federal gov’t, Hyperinflation for joe six-pack, and retirees starving to death on the streets.
Prepare accordingly
From Pepe Escobar Telegram (https://t.me/c/1394010098/3812):
“Brazilian state giant Eletrobras was privatized in the dead of night – and for a pitiful $6.9 billion.
Eletrobras is the largest energy company in Latin America.
It is now majority-controlled by local and global funds.
The largest investors are 3G, owned by billionaire oligarch Jorge Paulo Lemann, Brazil’s wealthiest individual, quite connected to the Masters of the Universe and the BlackRock, Vanguard gang.
Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citigroup, Credit Suisse and JP Morgan were among those part of the deal.
Energy in Brazil will become way more expensive – and the profiteers will be already mega-wealthy shareholders. The Brazilian state is being meticulously dismantled by the Bolsonaro gang.
This is the latest uber-toxic episode of the Michael Hudson-defined FIRE racket in action. Read about previous examples in his latest book – which I reviewed for The Cradle.”
Which makes me very sad for my fellow countryman… so I don’t understand the B in Brics because Brazil does everything to please uncle Sam… seams to me thar the Brazilian elite is playing double cards to always profit…
Don’t worried. Mr. Lula da Silva, our future president has already claimed that Eletrobrás and many other former state companies will be renationalised. I and many others will demand this as citizens.
Should Lula be elected and able to govern, what i´m still not sure, he ain´t not forcibly take back neither the Petrobrás nor the Eletrobrás, which would in any case be compliant with the brazilian Constitution. He can easily throw new state-owned companies into the market as competitiors against the privatized Petro+Eletrobrás and spoil the prices and profits of the new investors. Leonel Brizola did it once .The new owners of Petro+Eletrobrás would be happy to return their investments to the brazilian state even for a buck.Look at Ecuador’s foreign debt buyback from the Vulture Funds, of all things, with the Brazilian-funded New York lawyers. In the case of Petrobras, one could rather argue that the privatization was something of an “odious debt” because it took place under the unelected government of Michel Temer.
“Eletrobrás and many other former state companies will be renationalised.”
That’s the whole idea. They gave 6.9 billion of funny money, but they will sell it back to Brazil for 10 times more in physical products. That way they won’t have to deal with angry mob because of rising prices of energy. Mr. Lula da Silva will.
“Take the money and run” strategy.
The destruction of Brazil started with Temer, in 2016. What he did is unforgetable and unforgivable. Temer should be executed as a traitor.
Totally agree.
Either you have sovereignty, or you are colonized. There is no middle ground.
And this is valid not only for countries, but also for any human grouping and even for individuals.
In Brazil we have lost our sovereignty since the invasion of our territories by the Portuguese colonizer.
Brazil does not emerge as a nation, nor as a state. In its origin Brazil is born as a modern transnational corporation. Venetian and Dutch capital, Portuguese local management, slave labor kidnapped from Africa.
More wealth circulated through the sugarcane business, proportionally, than in the oil and gas chain today.
Between 1930 and 1980 Brazil was the fastest growing country in the world, at an astonishing pace of industrialization ranging from steelmaking to aeronautics and nuclear technology.
From 1990 on, the Brazilian ruling class completely surrendered to neoliberalism. Since then Brazil returned to a neocolonial and agrarian condition. Not even during Lula’s government did this change significantly.
In spite of his enormous international prestige, Lula is far from being the leadership capable of pulling Brazil out of its condition of subordination to the Imperium.
On the other hand, our history is replete with popular revolts in search of sovereignty, all crushed with iron and blood.
Among the main reasons for the defeats are the continental dimension of the country, the prevalence of a ruling class no commitment to the country and, more recently, the location of the capital Brasilia, isolated from the other large urban centers.
Let the current example of Russia inspire Brazilians: whoever wants sovereignty, let them fight for it. And arm themselves for it.
Brazilian elite’s dream is to steal the most they can from Brazil and move to Miami, where they will create “Little Rio”, right beside Little Havana and Little Caracas, creating the Holy Trinity of the Latin American USA Bootlickers, whose main business will be as Logistics service providers for Colombian, Brazilian and Mexican cartels.
The agribusiness elite will stay here, doing what they always did: producing for Export only, financing their production through government loans that are never paid – they use this money to buy the newest trucks (I know the case of a Farmer that bought ten Land Rover Discovery Sport’s at once to be used by his employees for daily farm work – the farm is almost as large as Denmark and has tens of thousands of cattle) and to pretend they are Texans.
Brazilian armed forces still live in the Cold War, their doctrine is directed towards the “enemy within” i.e. unions, ethnic minorities and anyone that defend social mobility. Some days ago they have released their plan for Brazil 2035: basically transform the country into a huge farm and mining operation, completely privatizing healthcare, education on all levels, water supply and distribution, energy production, while eliminating all kind of public financing and subsidizing – except for the agribusiness mentioned above and churches, specially of the neopentecostal / televangelist type, which are fully based and, in some cases, administered, by US-based Baptist churches and with strong ties with Israel.
Therefore, please be careful when mentioning Brazil as a participant of any change in status quo – Brazil is the only one of the largest countries in the world in terms of economy, area and population (the other are USA, Russia, China and India) that voluntarily choose not to be independent and sovereign.
Eletrobras
Net income US$ 512.0 million (2017)
Then “$6.9 billion” implied ROI = 512 / 6900 = 7.4%
Normal pricing
Your data is incorrect. And your calculation is even worse.
Eletrobras
– Net income US$ 512.0 million (2017)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eletrobras
– always make at least a double check of sources when using data obtained from the Internet.
– in the specific case of data such as net income, subject to great variation in a conjuncture such as that of the last few years, carefully analyze the historical series.
– take into account, especially for Eletrobrás, the results from the last quarter.
– the ROI must be calculated proportionally according to the relative participation in the company’s total capital.
The published accounting has been through an auditing process, with one million numbers in case of Eletrobras. Forget about “improving”
First of all, look again at the very Wikipedia link that you yourself pointed out.
But do it with a little more attention.
Then you will see how presumption is one of the worst enemies of wisdom: in 2017 Eletrobrás recorded a loss.
Then follow my suggestion, check the historical series and find out that in 2018 Eletrobrás’ net income was $3.2 billion.
What is the ROI on this profit?
In the first quarter of 2022, the company posted a net profit of $540 million, approximately.

Using P/E (P/E ratios are used by investors and analysts to determine the relative value of a company’s shares in an apples-to-apples comparison.)
– To compare Bank of America’s P/E to a peer’s, we calculate the P/E for JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) as of the end of 2020:
Stock Price = $127.07

P/E = 14.31
P/E 14.31 = 7% ROI (profits to capital invested.)
Iskander-M complex put on combat readiness
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cx87tdK2_Ng
Program starts in 20 min,.(when posted. 16:42 Norwegian time)
“Deployment of the Iskander-M complexes under cover of infantry. A routine inspection of combat readiness has begun in the forces of the Western Military District. Its subunits are on maneuver alert. On the parade ground, the commanders give the tasks to the personnel. Their vehicles are removed from the hangars for the march to the firing ranges.
According to the command, the main purpose of the maneuvers is to test the skills and teamwork of servicemen. Soldiers practiced various scenarios, including camouflaging tactical missile systems and repulsion of saboteur attacks. They test their engineering and fortification equipment. Another objective of the training is to get new recruits up to speed. New recruits are gaining experience in conditions close to combat.”

Wait, they exist?
Cheers M
Hey Sean! Good to see ye laddie. Hope you’re having a great weekend. I’ve run out of grog due to the heatwave and will have to be revictualed forthwith. Meanwhile, our upcoming expose will be hitting the racks “Major Wood Busted In Ukraine: An Explosive Expose” will be out soon. Until then, how ’bout a musical? Oh, and do they exist? The voters? No.

I have been concerned about the high rates of interest the Russian Central Bank was charging. They have gone down substantially.
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/russian-monetary-policy-reverts-pre-ukraine-war-levels-after-bigger-expected-rate-cut
But interest rates are still much higher than in the West, particularly the US. For reference, I was taught in Business school that people would save for 1% over inflation. Compute that which country should be paying the higher interest rates and see where the problem lies. Why are US banks selling mortages for 3-4% for 30 years when the inflation rate is 8-9%. Shadow stats has had real inflation at 10% for years.
While (interest-inflation) matters for debtor, it does not matter for the bank? Their math = interest * years.
Example:
One year loan
Principal $100,000
Interest $20%
Infllation 200%
Debtor will pay back 33% of principal (paying back $66,666 less) in real terms, and pay $20,000 as interest
Bank will gain the interest of $20,000 at no cost. (bank never had any $100,000, and never had to pay back any $100,000)
This situation where both debtor and bank become fat on inflation is hardly sustainable.
I will guess some other lose money
I am a Brazilian and I will speak about our election in next oct/2022 (my vision). Former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will be the next president for God’s sake. I strong believe that Brazil will again be a powerful country (in 2014 we were the 6th world economy) leaving to be a vassal of the empire of lies (US). LULA has a completely diferent vision of the destiny of our country and has as well a human perspective about the world. As a BRICS founder, he will reinforce the ties among countries, looking for a multilateral world. Counting the days for this man seat on the president’s chair.
not familiar at all with Brazilian politics. I of course hope da Silva will be the new president but I am sure the US is hard at work to make that impossible. What is the current situation, is he ahead in popular support ? are there reliable polls ?
Problem is, is Lula a competent populist like AMLO in Mexico, or a globalist Demonrat like Biden?
I guess time will tell. But the fact he’s trying to oust Bolsonaro doesn’t make him look good.
Flaming heck….one despairs???

The last attack on the airport was an unprecedented escalation by Israel.
Had to be closed indefinitely for repair…both runways multiple seriously damaged plus admin building. Israeli shot from overhead Golan Heights.
I read recently the article The secret Ukrainian military programs, by Thierry Meyssan.
https://www.voltairenet.org/article217092.html
In this article, Meyssan shows the evidence that, during John McCain’s visit in 2016 to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, accompanied by his colleague and friend Senator Lindsey Graham, they assured that the US would give all the weapons necessary for them to succeed in defeating Russia. He presents a video that has surfaced showing this moment.
“Shortly afterwards, President Poroshenko, who had attended the meeting in battle dress [Poroshenko is shown in this video], changed the badge of his secret service, the SBU. It is now an owl holding a sword directed against Russia with the motto “The wise will rule over the stars”. It is clear that the Ukrainian state apparatus was preparing for war against Russia on behalf of the United States”, Meyssan states.
He then proceeds with an enlightening discussion about the secret ‘Ukrainian Military Biological Program’ and ‘Ukraine’s Military Nuclear Program’, concluding that: “In view of these elements, it is appropriate to revise the common accusation according to which Russia is responsible for this war.”
This is a great article, worth reading.
Apparently 20-30 tons each of Uranium and Plutonium were quietly stockpiled at Zaporizhia NPP. At Davos IAEA chief Grossi desired an inventory, now Kiev refuses a visit.
Meyssan says Russia immediately seized this material within 2 days of the SMO, the UAF tried unsuccessfully to stop it, illegally stockpiled anyway, and asks from where did it come? This is an explosive story.
The Plutonium alone would be worth $150 billion. Ukraine did sign the NPT accord, had a nuclear industry, never had access to Soviet firing controls. Zelensky said at the Feb 2022 MSC Kiev should acquire nukes. Red-line!
Looks like German Marshall Fund’s Conley either did not get the memo, or has gone nuts.
PU240. Totally different fuel cycles to get weapons grade plutonium, short hard fast and then dissolve, then chemistry for PU239. Reactors for electricity keep fuel in long, and Ukraine has been keeping their rods in longer (replacement Westinghouse rods really sucked) For reactors that generate electricity – the amount of electricity via the Plutonium (mixtures of isotopes) can be 40%. Longer means more 240.
Read the PU240 wikipedia page, or go to numerous other sources. short answer, it makes for a fizzle instead of bomb. You can NOT separate 239 vs 240 via gas centrifuges effectively. the differential of 235 to 238 for UR is one thing, the differential of 240-239 is only one, hint – nonlinear.
The plutonium there could only be used as a dirty bomb. Lots of them.
What source – isotope analysis should show exactly.
Guaranteed Russia is right now doing such.
Damning mass-spectra awaited. Wiki-bedamned!
How come “dirty bomb” diferentiate from chemical weapon? Apart from dubious psychological reasons. Using it can only provoke reaction in the form of “clean” thermonuclear response.
If anyone needs a clear sign of the end of Ukraine, it is the conscription of women age 16-60.
Wow! What an eye opener. Happily, they’re drafting journalist women… and will hopefully send them all to the front.
On Thursday, probably in Warsaw, “some foreigner” (as Polish media put it) tried to steal a car belonging to the four-time world champion, two-time Olympic hammer thrower, Anita Włodarczyk. Discipline experts have to admit that it was an act of desperation, maybe it was a complete dilettante, or maybe the reconnaissance did not show off, because unfortunately (for the “foreigner”) Włodarczyk was nearby. After a short chase, she caught the thief, and the “foreigner” was evacuated into the hands of the police. Włodarczyk suffered a leg muscle contusion, there are no reports about the prisoner’s health condition. Considering that Włodarczyk announced that he would probably start in MMA next season, it had to be a strong KO.
Conclusion: I would not underestimate the potential combat strength of units consisting of Slavic women.
Gotta love that new bridge between Russia and China. If for nothing else, the U$ and it
Euroweenie vassals hate it.
I don’t understand the claim about this bridge – that it shortens travel time to the WEST. This bridge is EAST of Beijing, directly north of Harbin and only slightly west of Vladivostok.
How can it be a shorter route to the west when its east of almost all of China’s productive centers?
Because most of China’s population that does live near the Russian border is located in that one part of the border. The area is gigantic and people only live fairly close to the ocean.
Prediction: when Zelensky goes off to attend the NATO summit at the end of June, there will be a coup against him in Ukraine (military, I bet). Zelensky will then happily leverage his popularity in the west and be “safe” outside of the country.
I have no actual analysis for believing this will happen. Just a gut feeling. First thing I thought about when I saw he was going to attend the summit because it’s such a curious decision to me.
It will be interesting to see exactly what “NATO summit” means these days, if anything. Especially after RF found a battalion of it’s commanders hiding deep underground in Azovstal. No irony intended.
For sure, elensky is deep into it. Over his head even. His ‘popularity’ could vanish overnight at this rate.
He could always go back to his real day job; a second tier comedian.

Good afternoon fellow citizens of this beautiful world. Not going to waste time just want to say keep the faith God is control, Russia and friends are still winning in the fight between good and evil. A special about out to all fellow Americans (Babylonians) keep spreading the truth and help as many as possible to wake up from the delusion. Scholz revealed the plans of the West in relation to the Russian Federation
.
Finally, Scholz bluntly asserts that even the end of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine will not be sufficient and the only condition for lifting all sanctions against Moscow.
.
https://topcor.ru/26190-sholc-raskryl-plany-zapada-v-otnoshenii-rf.html
Should people care about what Scholz said? He has not been the brightest bird, the other day, even Ukrainian ambassador to Germany called him a “sultry liver sausage”. He may be a short timer at his current job. Should people care about what Scholz said?
What Scholz is doing is setting up a situation where it will be easier to endure a failure of the military operation. Should Germany break off support for the military operation, he will huff and puff around about how they are keeping the sanctions on. Allowing that the translation is accurate, note that he said “lifting all sanctions against Moscow.” That is wiggle room so he can lift some of the sanctions. Like maybe they will start importing Russian oil again? That does look like the biggest problem at the moment.
By the way, the widely reported neon shortage appears to be so much bunk. Neon is used in the laser when they make these electronic chips. But because it is not consumed in the process, the amount of neon needed is going to be absolutely minimal per chip produced.
The Western press is such bunk I seldom read it, and I don’t entirely trust the assertion that Russia has a lock on winning, except that now you can kind of feel the shift in the Western press. In the media currently, the stress isn’t so much assigning blame, as rewriting the history of the conflict in a more evenhanded way. That way they won’t appear to be putting out a fictional narrative if the West does lose out militarily and they have to explain it.
Scholz is quite literally delusional and not at all psychologically healthy.
These lunatics are apparently convinced of some inherent ability and right to establish reality by fiat…
Whatever price must be paid to eliminate such vile and nauseating sickness is worth the cost.
No, he’s not delusional. He’s just a con-man saying whatever keeps the wolves off his back for the day. He’ll be replaced before the year is out.
Given the cultural, religious, ethnic, historic, and not least, economic ties between Russia and Ukraine, we’re basically talking about one people; it would have been terrible, wasteful and counter-productive for Russia to have attacked Ukrainian urban centres with all their military might. Far better to destroy their military capabilities first and then the cities have to surrender.
Commenter Cosimo says Scott Ritter was misunderstood here:
“I believe Scott Ritter is being shunned on the Vineyard because he woke up one day and realized that NATO is working on what he calls a game-changer by rebuilding the UAF with modern weapons and by intensively training UAF soldiers in the territory of Poland and Germany. He was careful to explain his distinction that even though this could change the game, it will not change the outcome.”
http://thesaker.is/sitrep-operation-z-beginning-of-this-end-but-there-are-other-beginnings-and-other-ends/
my understanding is SR main concern is that while Russia can achieve its military objectives and will do so, the more important political objectives are not a certainly at all. First, denazification (which I’d say is both military and political) cannot be achieved without advancing far deeper west; second, pushing back NATO is sort of failing already if indeed Sweden and Finland joined NATO.
Again, nobody knows where this conflict is really going; while I believe the one certainty is Russian military advance, we do not know where it will stop.
However, I still have troubles following SR concern with troops being trained in Poland and Germany. What troops ? how long does it take to make them really combat effective when what we are seeing right now is that 8 years of NATO training produced catastrophic results ?
“pushing back NATO is sort of failing already if indeed Sweden and Finland joined NATO.”
Makes sense. However, if all or even much of Ukraine is taken, it may not matter now or like it would have otherwise. Putin said that he didn’t mind their accession to NATO as long as certain weapons were not placed in Finland. As his remarks suggested, if the outcome of the SMO is a big regional change, the NATO issue may become less important. He went from warning about not joining NATO before the SMO to that NATO putdown after the SMO.
At the end of this conflict a new mutual security agreement will be signed. Similar to the one demanded by Russia before the conflict started.
Excuses. Scott Ritter’s recent fantasies have no basis in military realities, and the fact they came to him as divine inspiration is highly suspicious, as is his recent change of tone (praising the bravery of the UAF whose hiding behind civilians, really?). There is 1 million hindrances to such a ridiculous plan. Unlike Lyra I doubt he sold out, but external pressures are very likely.
James Jeffrey Syria envoy is Zionist bastard , the US should get out of Syria and stop interfering in every country affairs, they are stealing oil and wheat off the mouth of the Syrian children and family , they are criminals and thieves, where is the shitty United Nation ?
Now hold on. China has long list of export/import countries and Russia’s share is just 3% of Chinese trade value. That’s the real reason why China keeps low profile of Ukrainian war and behind curtains its own plans. If Russia want to sell oil to China it has to sell with discount price. It was in May – 32%. It’s easy to see who is the boss in this trade. And the same with India-Russia trade.
Look at the facts, Russia is earning double what they received last year, even at those discount prices! Russia can easily survive w/o China! China however is ripe for the picking! If the same sanctions were leveled against China, as have been used vs Russia, China would collapse into chaos! Russia is completely self-sufficient in almost every way, China is very vulnerable to outside influence.
long term oil and gas contracts are always at discount. They are beneficial to both buyer and seller. price and delivery stability allows for long term planning on both sides.
If as seems likely the Eurowankers really do end up beginning to freeze and starve at the same time with absolutely no to survive without Russian oil and foodstuffs, then Mr. Putin really will be in what we call the catbird seat. He will be able to simply order NATO to disband.
Eurowankers. Time for Lavrov to start using this term when addressing the EU
Whereas it does appear that Ritter is all ver the map, as recently as two days ago he was: (A) condemning NATO aggression and (B) asserting that Ukraine was getting crushed.
So his handlers released him now that they know the war is lost for good, hey? They made a good job at sabotaging his reputation though.
We should count ourselves lucky to live in an age of philosopher kings like Joe. And Bojo the Magnificent.
To characterize the situation in Ukraine as a war of attrition (as has been done in the MSM) is a complete nonsense.
It is not the classic model of positional combat, in which both opponents end up sustaining considerable losses, with the victor claiming a Pyrrhic victory.
In the initial phase there was a remarkable combination of military strategies.
In the North, operational maneuvers in the style of Soviet Deep Battle. Such as the pincer approach to Kiev, the airborne landing at Gostomel, and the diversionary column of dozens of kilometers that disappeared without reaching any destination.
In the East, the immobilization in the Donbass and Kharkov of the largest and best contingent of Ukrainian forces.
To the South, a successful blitzkrieg to secure control of the coast, quickly dominating a strip of territory between Russia and Kherson and securing an insurmountable siege of Azov at Mariupol.
Tactical operations of high strategic value were also carried out, both to prevent terrorist sabotage (Chernobyl and Zaporizhzhya) and to seize documentation of biolabs developing weapons of mass destruction.
In its current phase in the Donbass, the emphasis is on the constant, methodical and precise use of artillery to destroy the resilience of the remaining Ukrainian troops.
To this end Russia and allies have adopted a sophisticated combination of resources, both equipment and manpower. Including hypersonic missiles, air support, saturation MLRS, drones, thermobaric munitions, and reconnaissance teams on the battlefield.
At the same time reducing own casualties while exponentiating those of the enemy.
Since US/NATO supplied weapons depend on who gets them fired, the trend is Ukraine’s military collapse.
And this will be a very dangerous time. What will Imperium’s response be? Will it watch without reaction its defeat on Ukraine’s territory?
“Will it watch without reaction its defeat on Ukraine’s territory?”
“The toothless Dragon does not fear the orthodontist”.
“the toothless Dragon does not fear the orthodontist”
Thank you Jams for that LOL
Perhaps you meant not dragon but eagle, and not teeth but beak.
It is quite possible that a considerable part of the US nuclear arsenal is not in good condition
Still, it won’t be so funny when a Minuteman III explodes in our vicinity.
If we are within 1km of ground zero, we will immediately be volatilized.
If we are within 12km, 3rd degree burns will be inevitable.
Not to mention the fallout.
Have fun.
If a Minuteman III were to explode, it is very unlikely the warhead would detonate with a nuclear detonation. Rather it would scatter plutonium, which is not a good thing (dirty bomb) but nothing like a thermonuclear detonation.
Difficulty in communicating is one of the most serious problems of our time, paradoxically considering the amount and variety of means available today.
The standard in international communication is English, which besides being very limited in linguistic resources is not usually the native language of all the interlocutors.
This can hinder dialogue if words and expressions are taken literally or only in one sense.
To sum up: why else, on terms of this dialogue, would a Minuteman III missile explode other than by thermonuclear detonation?
Very interesting interview of a government official from Kherson with Patrick Lancaster. I wish we had people like this gentleman in our government – very level-headed, well spoken and very humane.

There has been lots of big words about BRICS bright future but what have they really have achieved? Sad to say but not much. It looks like big things are happening in normal every day trade mostly without any BRICS. China keeps growing but not as fast as before 2008. India’s economy without 2020 COVID-19 fall down actually grew faster than China.
Here is list of 2013-2021 economic growth (average annual) :
China +6.6%
India +5.6%
S. Korea +3.1%
Japan +0.5%
Vietnam +5.8%
Indonesia +4.1%
Bangladesh +6.4%
Pakistan +3.9%
Tajikistan +7.0%
USA +2.0%
Canada +1.7%
Mexico +1.4%
Brazil +0.2%
Argentiina – 0.1%
Germany +1.1%
Italy – 0.3%
UK +1.4%
France +1.0%
Turkey +5.8%
Russia +1.2%
Ukraine – 0.7%
Egypt +4.1%
Côte d’Ivoire +7.0%
Ethiopia +8.7%
Rwanda +6.1%
Egypt +4.1%
Ghana +5.1%
Nigerian +2.3%
Kenya +5.0%
Uganda +5.2%
S. Africa +0.9%
As we can see BRICS has not pushed forward economy of Brazil, S. Africa and Russia much at all. Russia of course has not much debt at all. Economic growth has biggest potential in Africa and some Asian countries but not much Japan with its awful demographic future.
It’s obvious that China will face growing issues in 2030s with its aging population.
The economic growth should be stripped of FIRE sector because it is only thin air. Or at least separate the real economy and virtual economy figures.
“It’s obvious that China will face growing issues in 2030s with its aging population.”
Are you a shill? Because that’s the kind of ludicrous points shills keep spouting. Western nations have an aging population too, and western medias keep pretending it only happens to China.
John Doe: “Western nations have an aging population too..”
Yes some have even more aging population than China but some like US, France, Sweden better than China. China’s demographic future is not looking great but it has its own “immigrants” from rural China. What will happen when that option has once been lost? Beijing is well aware what low fertility rate (of only 1.5 children/woman) will do to Chinese economy later. But as we have seen once the births go fastly down it’s very hard to make it go up to e.g 2.0. Putin too have seen it too.
We have moved to world of very low fertility and it seems to be permanent state.
Lots of people look at the Belt and Road project (new Silk road) as killing the US hegemony by making naval dominance irrelevant … but road/rail as planned simply does not have anywhere near the capacity that would be needed to replace container ships.
So Naval power remains relevant to protecting trade. The problem the US has, is that all it’s surface ships (and everyone elses) are obsolete. Made irrelevant by the long range hypersonic cruise missiles of Russia.
So a warship interdicts some freight (or oil) being transported by Russia or China … and gets sunk.
Economics make the warship obsolete … cruise missiles are cheap, warships are not. So the sea lanes become ‘play nice or die’ – and all trade has to be allowed. Sanctions and embargos can no longer be enforced – by anyone.
So it is not the new silk road that has altered the equation (though it doesn’t hurt to have it happen – options are good), it is the weapons development that made warships obsolete that has altered the playing field.
@Mats “It’s obvious that China will face growing issues in 2030s with its aging population.”
One of the reasons why economic growth in Japan literally halted in 1990 was that around 48 years delay after its demographic negative turn during the WW2. There were no boomers in Japan during 1945-55. Spain, Italy and Germany faced similar slow economic growing issues later. There is no doubt that China will face it quite soon. Russia had huge demographic backlash after 1992 and only ethnic Russians and other immigrants from former USSR can save its future. If not the 2040’s will show its cruel faces to RF. Without enough children there is not much hope for any nation.
When it comes to Europe I don’t see for it bright future at all. Almost all cards in game look really bad.
Per Capita wealth is what matters. and in ‘mature’ countries such as Japan etc – per capita wealth continues to increase modestly every year.
Avdiivka
I have no idea where the major offensives will go. I am sure the Allies have several possibilities dependent on Zelenskys versus General Valerii Zaluzhnyi’s purported lines of retreat and how well a retreat is accomplished. It will probably depend on if the Ukr units can have some cohesion or they fall apart, run away, surrender, etc.
My moral compass is such that the quicker Avdiivka falls (without too many Allied casulties) is the best gift to the DPR’s victims of 8 year of war. Getting all supplies to Avdiivka stopped is not easy, but a decent goal. Odessa, etc., etc., might be prioritized lower.
And let us not forget the other portion of the overall operation. The putting things back together, the reconstruction and the healing. I am familiar with seeing the start of trauma of children who are suddenly in a homeless shelter at one house we used. I am familiar with how the wars still effect veterans decades later via sheltering long term a couple WW2 vets, ten plus Korean and about 5 Viet vets. The RF will have its hands full with non-military operations also.
President Biden used the phrase “Putin’s price hike” again in a reaction to Friday’s Consumer Price Index report revealing continued high inflation, showing once again that the US government believes Americans are idiots.
Vladimir Putin: The Global Safety Nyet
https://fivegunswest.blogspot.com/2022/06/vladimir-putin-global-safety-nyet.html
The vast majority of ‘Americans’ (i.e. US citizens) are in fact idiots – mostly because of their insularity and very poor educational system, where only the rich get a semblance of an education – even for them it’s poor compared with other countries.
Biden is completely irrelevant to American politics now. He is being held in reserve to take the fall for the coming catastrophe. Even he knows it. Expect signs of his “cognitive disablity” to increase in the coming months so he can avoid any actual legal culpability.
When there is some problem, Biden’s solution is to find somebody to blame. A common political response. The irksome thing about Biden is that the blame game is treated as the solution. He makes no effort to deal with the problem beyond assigning blame.
Not true. He will make a great effort to find another subject to discuss while ignoring the one that is important.
Let us ponder the evolution of the situation in central Europe over the course of the year to see if we can determine what will happen, and assume there will be no more dramatic shifts in position but rather a gradual shift toward the ineviable.
At the end of summer America will be completely preoccupied with its inflation and its elections, and Russia will be looking forward to – if not a more friendly America then at least a more apathetic one. The politicans of America are no longer relevant to what happens in Europe, though the American military most certainly is. That will bode well for Russia, as the military has concluded it would lose a war in Europe under current world conditions.
So, realistically speaking which governments in Europe will fall by the end of the year and how will Russia respond to new governments that try to “lay both sides” as they are always want to do?
Untill the neocons like Nuland, Blinken and co are fired(after a midterm debacle for exemple)nothing will ever happen.
If the Gop wins (and largely) the midterms, they will not want to keep these crazies in power, to prepare 2024.
There are very few neo-cons, now: the Republican party purged most of them. They’re neo-libs now.
In show of support to Serbia, Wang Yi & Lavrov should next week go to Belgrade together, onboard China’s state plane. Imagine reactions.
Of you picked up the Pentagon, turned it upside down, you will see a “made in China” label.
The US does not manufacture any weapons without first importing the ingredients, be it antimony to harden lead bullets or Chines microchips that do everything else, if China or somoeone doesn’t supply it the US will run out of it shortly. Them Rooskies can maintain this operational tempo indefinitely, the collective West can maintain this operational tempo for about 2 more months at maximum.
I would like to encourage Andri Martini-off to wright more and if he must make vids, at least put the Porky Pig “that’s all folks”, including the stuttering, ending theme at its end.
Every day that passes I see more people learning that the Kiev guys are the bad guys and them Rooskies are the not-as-bad guys, and that them Rooskies had a more legitimate reason to push back the Nutzis than the Nutzies had to shell cities in the Donbass for 7 years.
When the US Dollar dies, I have a self sufficient sailboat that can circumnavigate the world, while I wait for things to settle down. (My “bugout bag” weight is about 9 tonnes)
Your ship will be boarded and your assets confiscated by NATO for violating the weight regulations for bugout bags.
Carl, that first sentence was especially invigorating!
A joke of a ‘peace plan’…very funny and crazy.
Peace Plan
https://nationalinterest.org/feature/building-lasting-settlement-ukraine-202920
Listen, Doctorow. Russia will be dictating the terms regarding the future of Ukraine, and possibly a lot more, not delusional Western think tank clowns such as yourself. The ‘collective West’ is not in the driver’s seat, at all. The ‘collective West’ has blown it, pure and simple.
From all reports Russia has the support of the people she has liberated from the Ukrainian Nazis, she has the military momentum and she has the contested land well in hand with more just over the horizon (Odessa). I cannot think of one reason why Russia would agree to putting any final solution off for 10 or 20 years.
This plan smacks of the desperation of a losing side. It also smacks of a desire to put off into a yet-to-be-determined time any legal reckoning concerning mistreatment of POW’s, torture, war crimes and crimes against humanity and those vile biolabs.
Not as much crazy as delusional. The US so-called expert in politics are completely clueless as always.
oh boy very naive indeed Mr Doctorow who has not taken into account the psychologies military and political of USA Uk and EU let alone their peoples…the neo nazi side of EU countries is now fully exposed….the economic crisis gas and oil standoffs….will only increase xenophobia of EU countries and hysterical politicians and the new iron curtain Eu and others following the western line seem determined to put up and think Russia will suffer. Preferable Pres Putin thinks that they have to come to their own point event horizon and actually realise their reality…..no more patchups covering up their politics and self pretentiousness. Yesterday various articles . ranging from von der Leyen Draghi and someone else also useless visiting Ukraine today to check their EU application is on track….whereas others and experts saying no way if ever to support the loonies because despite EU spending hundreds of millions even before Feb 24 on anticorruption etc…this has clearly failed and EU experts says must spend more on this . !!!!!!!!!
The word sinkhole comes to mind.
And current situation of their economy and lawlessness is not exactly inspiring and surely as SMO continues only more ” opportunities” for corruption lawlessness injustice and mafia like will arise amongst a society bound to feel absolutely aggrieved and divided over the proven sham of Z and his lying government.. the army and loss of male conscripted civilians vastly undercounted deliberately by Kiev and USA. Probably remains of neo nazi military still embedded in society with limited income and not able to loot eastern ukraine who else they going to loot…their own.Betya Kiev would not permit a census at the end if the year .
So the Ukr refugee situation in EU countries is becoming contentious .. EU sends money to Ukr but not pays countries for hosting refugees….who are now realising gotta pay their way with reduced benefits. How many will actually return to Ukraine (and prefer to kind of live as illegal immigrants too )with a busted economy rising inflation of basics and heavy industry kaput and needing so far undelivered funding for rebuilding with the rich resources of the east now gone is a different situation too . Going to be a big big big wakeup call….their own existential crisis. Putin says your problems …get on with dealing with your failures .
This is my opinion regarding Gilbert Doctorow’s recent article, “Building a Lasting Settlement for Ukraine”. It is an interesting proposal, but likely to be rejected by Russia’s enemies. He proposes that in 10-20 years a decision would be made by plebiscite, whether the regions Donbass, Lugansk, Zaporozhye, Kherson, and Nikolayev should return to Ukraine or not, being in the meantime demilitarized.
There are two problems with this: First, it does not take into account the level of enmity in the West. The Russian bear, as it were, having been poked once too often, is unlikely to agree to a settlement of this nature, considering the West to be “agreement incapable”. There will be 10-20 years of fancy tricks and dissimulation where a small amount of good faith would be necessary. The enmity between East and West will continue to magnify the ethnic tensions within Ukraine as they have been and will continue to be instrumentalized.
In the meantime those living there would be in a state of limbo, building up enterprises and political parties, rebuilding the cities, not knowing whether they will in future be allied with Kiev or Moscow or independent. This would be a great amount of uncertainty. You cannot make an egg out of an omelette.
Henry Kissinger’s warning against bloc-building and a new cold war notwithstanding, experience has shown that partnering with the West is not a good idea for the Russian Federation. Western enmity expressed in all fields makes this impossible.
Lacking a comprehesive security agreement, the precedent has now been set that Western weapons arriving in Ukraine will be destroyed by military means. Lacking adherence to the Minsk Agreements after 7 years of delay and bad faith, lacking human rights protection for the Russian speaking population in Ukraine, the aforementioned oblasts are best incorporated into the Russian Federation or made independent, according to the wishes of the population there.
The Special Military Operation will soon be over and it will not be necessary to have a settlement, only a ceasefire.
Meanwhile rebuilding relations between Russia and the rest of Europe will take much more than 10-20 years. There is no-one in sight such as Willy Brandt and Egon Bahr who with their Ostpolitik changed the course of European history leading even to the breakup of the Soviet Union. Their work has been shattered by today’s mediocre Western leaders. Russia can no longer be expected to please the West and to ignore its own existential interests.
Business Insider today reported that desertions are increasingly larger lately. Undoubtedly they are, however, its not, until recently we’ve seen this kind of reporting. Could it be they’re setting up the ” we gave you weapons but you deserted” story? Alrerativey, or in conjunction does the US want and end soon to stop an ever increasingly embarrassing situation?
To Mr. Rajewski,
Eureka !!!, the answer to why Russian are so slow to fix for good Ukronazies & Banderistas is because they followed Russian wisdom of their folks proverb: ” Pospieshish Ludei nasmieshish.” Panimaiet ? To be fast is only required to catch a fle, nothing else, isn’t it ?.They are doing excellent job, Mouodcy !!!
MSM seems to induce a state of apathy. Perhaps deteriorating economic conditions and further erosions in standards of living for the many will be the means by which more people in the West will become critical of official narratives of everything, including Russia’s special military operation. Then again, to what extent will people’s perceptions be confused by the powers that be shifting blame away from the main culprits via a willing MSM apparatus?

My moral compass is such that the quicker Avdiivka falls (without too many Allied casulties) is the best gift to the DPR’s victims of 8 year of war…
——————————————————–
The DPR has a plan for Avdiivka, mum’s the word about it.
Avdiivka should be surrounded like Azovstal, “not one fly out,” (Putin), and the “Right Sector” mercilessly subjected to thermobaric treatment.
Here is the war criminal bombing Donetsk and surroundings, courtesy of Colonel Cassad.

Who is shelling Donetsk
To the question of who is shelling Donetsk.
Roman V. Kachur, a native of Sumy, Colonel, commander of the 55th separate Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From 2014 to 2018, he commanded the artillery of the 81st odshbr, which operated in the Donetsk direction and also shelled Donetsk (Petrovsky and Kiev districts).
The brigade is armed with foreign military equipment, including 155-mm self-propelled guns “Caesar” and towed howitzers M777, which are used to bombard Donetsk in recent weeks. In recent days, it has also been using remote-detonated ammunition in residential areas.
So this is one of the figures who directly carries out the execution of criminal orders related to the terrorist attacks on Donetsk.

Our government in Canada, the G7, and the EU recognized the democratic elections and the elected government of Viktor Yanukovych. Yet, they supported his ouster and the violence used against his country, which they call terrorism at home. People died in Ukraine and continue to die because of that support. That interference would not have been tolerated by any of the G7, and particularly the USA as we can see with the Washington riots, if that had happened in their countries.
After opposing the Crimean referendum, where does the Canadian government stand on the Quebec Referendum? What would Trudeau say if Russia sent billions in weapons to Quebec separatists. I Ottawa willing to oppose Quebec like Spain opposes Catalonia, or will they side with the Quebec premier that wants to have a 10-year moratorium on the sovereignty vote?
Well unfortunately we can’t lob artty shells at them ours is being used to kill Russians atm.
We could though, sanction their potatoes and poutine, force them to eat processed, as for they’re language, french, so over rated, there are enough french words used in English, they don’t need a special language for themselves.
Looking forward to when Canada gets rid of the vermin infestation and is free to reunite,……with Russia, they seem to have a better handle on this self determination thing.

It’s sarcasm, be gentle.
How can one be gentle when idiots govern this country, and small dogs in Ottawa sniff asses of big dogs to be part of the pack of NATO mad dogs.. A bit of history as a nation of Peace Keepers emulates the war monger south of the 49th parallel.
Failing to learn from the defeat of Alexander the Great, four British invasions, the Soviets in 1979, Canada, in 2014, limped out of Afghanistan defeated like all the rest. Canada’s former prime minister, Stephen Harper, was telling his constituents that democracy has won the day after new elections, which were held to replace the puppet regime of Hamid Karzai.
A reality known to all except those who need to create a political “win” for self interest, Canada has left Afghanistan no better than the way it found it. The drug dealers, the Tajik and Uzbek in the north, will remain in power because Canada’s American allies manipulated the vote to elect the chosen successors of Karzai.
Democracy-building in Afghanistan has cost the Canadian taxpayer over $22 billion, not counting future medical and psychiatric care for our veterans and the families of many who have committed suicide on their return home. The cost of this will be spread over the backs of the Canadian worker for years to come. In essence, the Afghanistan venture has been another NATO failed regime-change exercise that has cost Canadians a huge amount in terms of lives, welfare of combatants, and taxpayer dollars.
After the manipulated election terrorism in Afghanistan continued against the Americans, delivered by our enemies the Taliban, and supported by the majority Pashtun tribes in the South who were banned from voting in the election.
In hopes of winning the 2015 election at home, former PM Harper moved Canadian tax dollars from Afghanistan north to Ukraine, where we under Justin Trudeau are “nation-building” through another regime change, but this time with fascist allies. Our allies in current world meddling are Svoboda and the Right Sector, a solidly neo-Nazi fascist group based in western Ukraine. The West had recently condemned these neo-Nazis and armed them to do NATO’s dirty work to militarily overthrow the elected government in Kiev. Canada and the EU has embraces fascism because we want Ukraine to join the EU rather than be economically attached to Russia.
This new adventure in Ukraine was another example of more hypocrisy by the former Prime Minister Harper. He talks about democracy, but he often does not follow its principles nationally or in our international relations, conveniently ignoring treaties and accords, which the Canadian government had signed. Harper’s remarks against Russia and support of neo-Nazis and skinheads in Kiev is an election appeal to 1.2 million Ukrainian Canadian constituents. His comments during his recent trip to Ukraine are a continuation of countless falsehoods in the service of his attempt to rewrite events and redefine democracy, a “Tea Party” exercise full of conservative malfeasance.
Harper’s malfeasance is hypocritical. He makes the comment that Russia is “violating bilateral and international commitments,” when we have violated international agreements constantly, often under his leadership. We have violated WWII treaties, the UN Charter, and we have bombed countries without UN agreement. We have violated UN Human Rights by mistreating prisoners of war, violated the Helsinki agreement on borders, and the signed article 1244 on Kosovo, which we violated before the ink was dry. Our current government’s domestic track record on democracy and support for international law is abysmal.
Canadian conservative leaders and their voters, like their American Republican counterparts, have accepted the concept of “exceptionalism.” Based on birth and country, conservatives believe they have a right to play a dominant role throughout the world, but particularly in countries deemed “less worthy.” This concept is deeply rooted in Anglo Saxon history of imperialism, particularly the “white man’s burden” of the late 18th century. Using propaganda and control of mainstream media, conservative political leadership has gained support of a large sector of the public for their interventions in world events, which tend to be one-sided.
For example, Herman and Peterson have written in Politics of Genocide that Western governments and their media treated the Ukrainian famine as genocide but not the Irish famine. The media and Western governments labeled Saddam’s killing of Kurds a genocide but not the Turkish killing of Kurds. They also labeled Serbian shelling of Sarajevo a war crime but not the US shelling of Fallujah, and they wrote and broadcast that the Hutu killing of the Tutsi was a genocide but not the reverse — the Tutsi killing of the Hutu.
Our media and many politicians see some international crimes committed by our government and our allies as worthy and acceptable, while crimes committed by states or tribes who are deemed different, or not aligned with us, as unworthy. When states we support commit specifically aimed violence in a foreign country, Herman and Peterson write that the word genocide is rarely (if ever) used by our government and the media. Coverage of the story is diminished, and if the word genocide is used, it’s primarily relegated to a “back page” exposure. When states deemed unfriendly to our political and economic interests commit a violent act, the media takes its lead from the government and uses negative euphemisms to discredit the “other side” in the dispute.
A year or so ago, the Canadian TV outlet CTV interviewed Mr. Shwec, at that time, the Ukrainian ambassador to Canada. There was not a single question to Mr. Shwec about the Nazi affiliation of the rioters, or the intercepted telephone conversations about the shooters of police and civilians in Kiev and their association with the protestors. It was very clear for anyone watching reports from Kiev that the petrol bombs and other weapons were used by the rioters, and this was ignored in the interview. The insurrection in Washington some 17 month ago is treated by Canadian and American Media as a crime against democracy, while the Maidan killing of police and burning of civilians in buildings in Odesa was/is unworthy of condemnation.
Jacqueline Milczarek, the anchor on the CTV News Channel, ignored this action knowing full-well that such violence would have been met by force if it had taken place in Canada as it was during the FLQ Crisis. In fact, in Canada, just wearing a balaclava during a riot is punishable with up to ten years in jail. Rather than ask probing questions, Milczarek gave Mr. Shwec a forum to simply bash Putin, knowing that was the expectation from her media bosses.
She went on to insinuate that what was going on in Ukraine is somehow a threat to the Baltic States and Poland. She continued with fear mongering with simplistic drivel designed to further promote the conservative and corporate agenda. She did not mention the fact that the USA spent $5 billion to destabilize Ukraine, but she did mention that Russia had an army on their side of the border. She opted to ignore the fact that NATO has armies and bases in 50 or so countries surrounding Russia, but Russia was criticized for having its army in its own country..
Should balanced reporting include the fact that NATO and US forces are on Russia’s borders, and the fact that EU and American governments instigated this revolution? Should pointed questions be asked about the history of Shwec and his supporters so that the public (the viewers) can really understand who’s involved and why it’s occurring?
Russia is not Serbia, or Libya, or Iraq. Russia has an arsenal of nukes, and the more we attempt to partition it into small units ripe for takeover or to isolate it to gain access to its resources, the more the world is in danger of a nuclear war. That said, Russia has never attacked others, but it has been attacked: from the East (Mongols); South (Turks); and particularly, the West (Teutonic Knights, Poles, Swedes, Napoleon with a European Army, as well as British, French, and Germans in WWI, and Canadians, Americans, British, and French after WWI, plus Germans with a European Army under Hitler). Every time Russia was attacked, they expanded their territory at the expense of the invader. Russia and many nations around the world have a multitude of significant lessons from history to distrust the western countries.
Harper did not tell Canadians that the government of democratically elected Viktor Yanukovych wanted closer ties with Russia rather than with the EU. The Neo Nazis Svoboda, UDAR, and the Right Sector (with support from the West) were instrumental in deposing Yanukovych. And, with this action, the move away from the EU was quashed, benefitting the west economically. The Nazi UDAR and Svoboda were on the EU and NATO side rather than Russia’s, thus they had to be seen as attractive partners, thus disregarding their Fascist history.
To Harper, these Fascist became our allies, so he portrayed them as “worthy,” regardless of their history even though that history included murdering their own people like UDAR and Svoboda rioters did in Maidan. Even our present deputy prime Minister Freeland who was a CIA asset in Kiev at that time called her Nazi grandfather a “freedom fighter.”
We (the West) call ourselves “reformers” when we engineer a regime change for our own benefit, while the regime that wants to remain as they are labeled by our press and government as a “hardliner,” despot, or some similar easy-to-understand label like Axis of Evil to create the necessary impression. When we (our side) kill in war and innocents die, it’s called collateral damage, while when nations that simply don’t agree with us or follow our leadership engage in warfare, it’s called violence, murder, oppression, or genocide. Those words create an image, which has led people in Ukraine (eastern and southern) regions to vote with their feet as they are now demanding to join Russia.
All three political parties in Canada condemned Russia over Crimea and over the present conflict but did not condemn NATO which caused the conflict. This was done to appease the Ukrainian voters in Canada, even though a democratic vote was taken in Crimea to join Russia. However, this action shows our petty selfish prejudices, since these same parties supported Kosovo independence after they supported 78 days bombing of Serbia to detach Kosovo, which was part of Serbia for 2000 years. Once again, our politicians find it easier to support who we think are our friends, rather than the rule of international law. America and NATO have a policy paper in their front pocket for separatism that they support and another policy in their back pocket for a similar situation that they oppose.
Our government, the G7, and the EU recognized the democratic elections and the elected government of Viktor Yanukovych. Yet, they supported his ouster and the violence used against his country. People died because of that support.
After opposing the Crimean referendum, where do the Canadian political parties stand on the Quebec Referendum? Are they willing to oppose Quebec like Spain opposes Catalonia or will they side with the new Quebec premier that wants to have a 10-year moratorium on the sovereignty vote or will the RCMP burn barns and instigate violence as they did the last time in order to have an excuse to call out the army
Funny enough and one of the reasons I took issue with Mathew Erhert’s article he produced on Canada, was his fleeting mention of the ’45 RRR, and subsequent hanging of Louis Riel. He didn’t even mention Riel. We currently have ‘Metis Reconciliation’ fluff going on right now, the syrupy crap they spew about Riel and his political contribution to making Canada a country, rather than a Colony. Someone, and I don’t care who, needs to stand up and apologize to Canada, the people of Canada, Riel, his family, descendants (there are many) and the men who died with him. His stature as a Canadian, I think he was from a Dakota, far outshines that of any colonial like J A McDonald.
“Never ever trust the English”, my grandfather taught me taught me that, and went to war two times and fought on their behalf.
Cheers M
Loved the reply btw, lots of great info for those few Canadians still hiding under their lobster pots.
You mention Lois Riel. His fight for the rights of the Métis people is like the fight of the Donbass Russians. Anglo-Saxon privileges and financial interests played a major role in Riel’s death and the defeat of the Métis, who did not have a patron to protect them.
Lois Riel was hanged on September 16th, 1885. The Jury of six English Protestant farmers found him guilty of high treason, and Judge Hugh Richardson sentenced him to hang. A century and a half later, he become Canada’s national hero. At his trial seven men saw Riel as a criminal and a rebel, a troublemaker, while others honored him as a patriot and a symbol of oppressing. Was Riel an enigma as others saw him, or did the circumstances in which he lived motivate this perception? Métis, faced with the loss of their livelihood, and expulsion from the lands that they occupied, the people of the Northwest chose Louis Riel as their leader. Dr. John Schultz, the head of a group called the Canadian Party, challenged his leadership. In the ensuing confrontation, Riel executed Thomas Scott, a mistake that would place him in direct conflict with J. A. Macdonald and the Dominion government.
According to E. H. Carr, “Every human being is born into a society and from his earliest years is molded by that society.” At the time of Riel’s childhood, buffalo hunting, fur trapping and agriculture were the way of life for the predominantly mixed race of people called the Métis. Born in St. Boniface to a very spiritual Métis family, Riel was steeped in Catholicism from an early age. He was intelligent, and his Catholic teachers recognized his potential and selected him for further education for the priesthood in Montreal.
While in Montréal Riel’s father, whom he admired and respected, died leaving Riel distraught. Riel Sr. was a respected member of the Métis community who championed the cause of the independent fur traders who were opposed to the Hudson Bay Company’s monopoly in the fur trade. The dispute led to arrest of several free traders, including Guillaume Sayer. Riel Sr. pressured the authorities to release the independent traders even after they were found guilty. Riel felt pride and respect for his father leadership in the way he championed the rights of the Métis.
In Montreal, Riel joined the political discussions that were associated with the Confederation movement. Working in a law firm, he was befriended by nationalists who feared that confederation would obliterate the French culture. Riel was conditioned by his home, school and work environment. In Riel’s case, “the Development of society and the development of the individual go hand in hand and condition each other.”
One year after Confederation, Riel returned to Manitoba, where negotiations were under way for the sale of Rupert’s Land. Also, during his ten-year absence, many English-speaking Protestant settlers had moved into the Red River region, and demanded political changes and association with Canada, without consultation with the Métis, The Métis saw this as a threat to their culture and land ownership. Being the most educated Métis with strong nationalistic sentiments, Riel objected to the purchase of Rupert’s Land without Métis consultation. Conflicting interests led to several confrontations with surveyors and sympathizers of Macdonald, consequently, Riel took military control of the region. Since individuals, according to Carr, have a “different attitude to social relations between individuals and how society should be organized” Riel was no exception. He arrested the members of the Canada Party and established a provisional government with twenty Métis and twenty English representatives. They drafted a bill of Rights to be negotiated with the federal government. During the negotiations with Commissioner Donald Smith, English settlers attempted to overthrow the provisional government without success.
The perpetrators were arrested and jailed. One of the belligerents, Thomas Scott, was charged with treason after he threatened to kill Riel. In the ensuing trial, Scott was found guilty by the Métis court and executed by a firing squad. This action by Riel was at variance with, and opposite to, the results that he intended. This act was to change the relationship between the Métis population who saw Riel as a patriot, the English Canadians who saw Riel as a criminal and the French community who saw Riel as a hero. This portrayal of Riel was both personal and social, since individuals are speakers for the society that they represent. The English in Canada saw Riel as the problem and ignored Métis grievances. Macdonald, on the other hand, was concerned with both issues since the dynamics of his decision would affect his ability to govern.
Macdonald wanted the Rupert’s Land in Confederation, while at the same time he did not want to alienate the Ontario English population. He achieved both through negotiation and military force, which alienated the Métis and the Quebec constituents. Even though most of the demands in the Métis Bill of Rights were granted in the Manitoba Act, part of the Métis community moved west to pursue their traditional way of life but they and Riel did not escape the same problems that they faced in Manitoba.
Riel, with a bounty on his head, escaped to the United States, where he lived for fifteen years. Isolated from his people, afraid of assassination and arrest, and unable to find work forced Riel into depression and religious delusions. During this period of isolation and fits of depression, he saw himself as a Devine deliverer of his people from bondage, a “Mosses in the midst of the burning cloud.” He saw himself as a prophet who was directed by God to create a new church in which the Métis would be the chosen people. He was seen by his friends as mad and taken to Quebec where he spent two years in an insane asylum.” Admitting that his cherished ideas were only delusions of an addled brain he was released early in 1878” but the “disturbing ideas had not been entirely banished from his mind”. In 1881 while living in Montana he married Marguerite Monet with whom he had two children, but the Métis and their problems in and around Batoche flared up into rebellion. In 1884, he was persuaded by Gabriel Dumont and a Métis delegation to return to the Northwest. “Riel interpreted their request as a sign from God” and a “chance to fulfil the mission Bishop Bourget had written about.”
The Second North West Rebellion ended with the defeat of the Métis and the arrest and trial of Louis Riel and seventy-three of his followers, including William Henry Jackson. Jackson had supported Riel and accused the Macdonald government of supporting Eastern interests, pork barreling the railway and ignoring Western problems. Both Riel and Jackson were seen at trial as suffering from dementia. However, upon examination of their demands, evidence exist that they wanted nothing more than what the rest of the Dominion took for granted. Witness evidence at trial indicated that insanity of the two was more related to their religious beliefs. In his closing statement the words of Riel were not those of an insane man since “It was a remarkable performance, and if the defence had any hopes of acquittal before Riel began speaking, they can have had none by the time he finished.”
When Riel was hanged a new political party, Le Parti National, was formed in Quebec to oppose the Dominion government and on a platform to avenge Riel. They were elected in 1886 as the governing party in Quebec. “In killing Riel, Sir John has not only struck at the heart of our race but especially at the cause of justice and humanity” In English Canada justice was done.
The question of Riel’s guilt or innocence aside, historians see him as an enigma. To the Métis and the Quebeckers, he was a hero because he championed French rights. To the Catholic Church, he was insane because he wanted to create his own church and religion. The English, on the other hand, saw him as a traitor and murderer because he rebelled against the government agenda. Looking at the harsh realities of the present life of the Métis, nothing has changed, and Riel’s work is incomplete. Those whom Riel defended saw him as a patriot, while those he opposed saw him as committing treason. Historians agree that one man’s patriot is another man’s criminal. In Riel’s case the verdict, one hundred and fifty years ago, did not serve the present national interest of Canada nor did it at the time of his execution.
Again, great content for those unfamiliar of Canada’s dirty laundry. I wouldn’t worry too much for today’s Metis they are taking the Federal Government to the cleaners over unsettled Treaty issues, they are doing alright, lots of bling, not sure how much will trickle down.
As for Riel, he wasn’t arrested, that implies he was captured. Unfortunately he suffered a similar fate as Iranian General Solomeni. Riel entered the British Fort under the auspices of negotiating a Peace Treaty, he took no guard with him, feeling safe the English would honor the arrangement. They didn’t. He was hanged.
Kangaroo Courts are like that.
Cheers M
On a similar subject, I happened to stumble on the Michif language, which mixes French and Cree, sort of like how Maltese mixes Arabic and Italian. A very interesting language, even if it’s gravely endangered.
Louis Riel fought for a Confederation of nations, in which the Metis would have been part. Riel’s fight was entirely legitimate, he was elected and promised a province, all this in line with the concept understood by ( and promised to ) the French Canadians, in order to obtain their approval for the Confederation, in March of 1865. Finalized in 1867. However, the Confederation of the nations was immediately replaced by a Confederation of administrative provinces, irrespective of the rights of the founding nations of the country, founded roughly 150 years before the English took Quebec City. The French-Canadians, Métis and Acadians are still non recognized in Canada. In a non hegemonic anglo-saxon world, the Confederation would have been shaped somehow like the Russian Federation is today, with a number of nations recognized within the constitution.
I wonder if anyone could help me find an article that was on the Saker this past week, it was written by an Australian man, somewhat unusual theme that included the role played by cooperation rather than competition and strife historically, for example in matriarchal societies.
Unfortunately I was in a hurry when looking at it so did not bookmark and can’t remember author’s name or title.
Maybe mod could recall this piece?
Some help needed. I am looking for a transcript for Medvedev’s recent interview in Al Jazeera, either in russian (where it can be passed to an automatic translatior) or an english translation, if available. If anyone knows where to find one, please be so kind as to post a link.

Great.
IAEA is a western stooge.
The director of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, revealed at the Davos Forum that :
“Ukraine had stored 30 tons of plutonium and 40 tons of enriched uranium at its Zaporizhia plant ”
And they kept quiet
https://www.iaea.org/newscenter/news/iaea-grossi-at-davos-nuclear-power-climate-change-and-ukraine
“Mr Grossi added that the IAEA is seeking to visit Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station, under occupation by Russian forces, to verify that the 30,000 kg of plutonium and 40,000 kg of enriched uranium stored there have not been deviated for other uses.”
Incredible how they deal with countries. Iran is the most sanctioned and the most watched country but the IAEY under Grossi does not let loose, whereas he knows that Ukraine under Z. had ammassed so much of plutonium and enriched so much Uranium and we heard no word about it.t
This was seized by Russian troops, i guess people know this.
An interesting article from Evigny Norin at RT Times about the Russian operation in Priština, Kosovo. The Russians were denied a peacekeeping sector in Kosovo as agreed ipon by UN resolution 1244 and subsequently the Serbs were ethnically cleansed. This served as a catalyst for major mistrust of the western Nations and NATO. Putin did not forget what happened in Yugoslavia and although the country was dismantled it warned the Russian of NATO’s turn into an aggressive alliance moving towards Russian borders. https://www.rt.com/news/556955-yugoslavia-kosovo-russia-peacekeepers/amp/
Here is a short video of the Russian forces clearing underwater mines near one of the beaches at Mariupol. A small boat appears to be towing a line, supported by small buoys, connected to a tracked vehicle on the beach. Periodically there are underwater explosions. What is going on here? Is there some kind of acoustic trigger?

Yeah, its pure projection, mirroring. What they criminally would do and do themselves. Directly from CIA/MI6’s tool box.
Its the most disgusting feature from the West, the culture of miscarriage of justice, blaming pure innocent people for the criminal act.
Thank you very much, Saker team, for providing us, in the US, such great links, enabling us to follow the slow, but inevitable, and painful downfall of the US hegemon.
Between The Fed, the US Financial Center and the horrific US Service Industries, millions of Americans are truly starting to suffer. Sadly, the majority of citizens have no clue as to what’s happening in the rest of the world.
RF MOD average for the day, 1000 KIA, Foreign Merc base destroyed at Severodonetsk. Reading reports watching vids, and then the Grant ambush vid, it was obvious there was a high concentration of Mercs in Lisichansk and Sevrodonesk area. The DPRK has sent a message of support to Russia amid the ongoing special military operation. It should be noted that the DPRK has one of the world’s top five largest militaries and has successfully developed its own ICBMs, hydrogen bombs, and even a type of hypersonic glide vehicle.

I didn’t think he was angry. Caustic humor.
