First, I wish to congratulate the president elect of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump. I can only imagine what this gentleman has gone through in this election cycle and this does not address the vitriol poured on his wife and children during the media attack, and that is exactly what it was and is, a concerted and ongoing news media and blog attack on Mr. Trump and his entire family.
With Mr. Trump’s stunning, in view of The Media and the current power structure in USA, victory in the election the taps were opened to maximum output and the vitriol and attacks intensified dramatically. In the words of one commenter I know, with Mr. Trump’s election ‘the light was suddenly turned on in a dirty kitchen and the cockroaches scattered in all directions’. In my opinion that is a pretty good analogy for the cockroaches infesting the government in USA and EU et al are screaming bloody murder and calling Mr. Trump every name in the book and whining about the end of the world as they knew it. That, my friends, is an even better analogy, ‘the end of the world as they knew it’.
I’ve been on this rock for a long time. I grew up and was educated in a different time that seems eons from today. I left home the moment I turned eighteen, after all I knew far more about the world and life than that foolish old man who raised me, who kept me fed well and warm in winter and who had no qualms about knocking the puppy snot out of my when I deserved it which was not infrequent. We did not lock our doors when we left home for Church, for shopping and other errands and in fact we did not have a key for the back door. No one in the eighteen years I lived in that farmhouse ever bothered anything. We left the tractors in the fields at day’s end, all of us riding back to the barn on one tractor. No one bothered the machines, no one stole diesel or gas from any of them. Life in USA was different then and that life is well remembered by many Americans.
In the ensuing time since those, in retrospect, peaceful and bucolic years things in US have changed a bit. I was gone for most of those years, returning off and on as was possible. Through the late sixties and through the seventies I was gone enough to see some slight changes whenever I returned but nothing to worry about. The turmoil in DC and the presidency seemed to have no great affect on the lives of most of the populace and the economy was humming along nicely.
The era of the 80’s ushered in the twelve years of Republican dominance in the White House. I was in the same situation, gone most of the time but back just enough to not be worried about the culture and economy of my country, USA. This changed in the nineties and as I began to spend more time ‘home’ I began to see worrying changes in the general populace along the east and west coasts.
The defining occurrence of that era was the (not so) sudden collapse of the Soviet Union, this same Soviet Union that had instituted the Pax Rossiya in all of eastern Europe after the second war which was in essence simply a continuance of the first war, The War to End All Wars. This Pax Rossiya was in many instances brutal especially in the beginning, as the populaces were cleansed of their propensity of joining every foray in to Russia since Napoleon’s time, in the second war sending tens of thousands of willing volunteers to fight The Godless Russians. However, the Soviet Union did give Europe the longest stretch of unbroken peace in European history, from 1945 (technically) through 1990. Yes yes, there were troubles in eastern Germany in the early ’50’s, Hungary in the mid ’50’s and Poland was from time to time a concern but in essence peace reigned regardless of the two armed forces facing each other at the borders, both armed to the teeth with the western forces strongly backed by the US Army and the eastern forces heavily backed and reinforced by the Soviet Army.
Through all those years I believed, I believed in the truth and righteousness of what I was taught at home and school and Church, that America was the shining light, the end all and be all of peace, prosperity and democracy, that the Soviet Union and her people were a massive and deadly threat to everything we believed in and would attack us and conquer us if given half a chance.
But a crack had appeared in that belief in the late 80’s. I began to understand through interaction with these supposedly Godless Communists that some of these people were exactly like me, patriotic and believing in their cause and their country and not a one of them that I met, in peaceful actions or sometimes not so peaceful actions, ever mentioned conquering Europe or destroying America. In actual fact I found them to be as religious as I was and am, they had no ingrained hatred of USA and many of them admired America and Americans as opposed to everything I was taught about these strange people who spoke an incomprehensible language and many of whom took the trouble to learn what was to them an equally incomprehensible language, English.
The crack widened as the wars started again in Europe after the Soviet Union ceased to exist. The breakup of Yugoslavia was the beginning of these wars and they are ongoing. When Hillary Diane Rodham assumed the de facto presidency in 1993 a new agenda was evident both in USA and American interaction with The World.
At the same time American culture and economy, which had slowly begun to decline in the late eighties and early nineties, accelerated that decline and a new phrase, Politically Correct, began to be heard more and more often. I noticed in my increasing returns to US that the things I and my friends used to laugh and joke about were suddenly not allowed. I found that I was supposed to watch what I say and how I spoke, in essence I was supposed to be ‘Politically Correct’ in my speech and actions, that square was round and nothing was black and white, everything was gray. People that I had known for years, the tradesmen and skilled workers who did so well before, were now worried and watching their small businesses and trades decline at ever increasing speed. Ever increasing Government oversight and regulations began to strangle their businesses and trades, backed up with the constant threat of Government action against them if they did not do as told. Do as told? Since when is Washington my/our nanny?
During her term as president Hillary Diane Rodham put her stamp on Department of State, that entity that to a great extent promulgated US foreign policy. She packed that bureaucracy with her minions and laid the base for power for when she was no longer president. She was appointed Secretary of State in 2009, having spent the previous eight or so years as a senator from New York and working mightily to further infest DoS with her minions. And the wars started. All along the south coast of the Mediterranean Sea starting with the deposing and murder of Qaddafi she worked her magic, attacking Libya, attempting to destroy Egypt, destroying Syria and instrumenting the ongoing mess in Ukraine.
Ukraine. Herein is the problem concerning me and mine. The coup d’etat in Kiev in February of 2014 was planned and executed by Hillary Diane Rodham. The actual prosecution of that coup d’etat was by the sitting US ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, with a great deal of the groundwork performed by the previous ambassador, John Teft (who then was appointed ambassador to Russia where he attempted, and failed, in a plan for ‘regime change’ in Russia).
Ukraine in and of itself meant and means nothing to Hillary Diane Rodham although I have no doubts she is quite happy to have taken a shot at Russia as a consequence of the coup. The prize for all the turmoil and blood in Kiev was Krimean Peninsula and the crown jewel, Sevastopol. When the citizens of The Autonomous Republic of Krimea and the Federal City of Sevastopol said ‘oh hell no’ to the coup installed Kiev government after some pretty serious threats from same, armed up and closed both the peninsula and City, Clinton’s screams could be heard on Mars. When dual referendums were held in Krimea and Sevastopol as to the future of both entities and the vote was a unanimous decision to ‘leave’ Ukraine her screams were heard light years from our little galaxy. It is my understanding that she was apoplectic when both The Autonomous Republic of Krimea and the Federal City of Sevastopol asked to be and were accepted back in to Russia after the referendums, thereby negating Krushchov’s illegal ‘gift’ of Krimea and Sevastopol to administration of the Ukraine SSR.
Her dreams of taking Krimea and Sevastopol, if successful, would have put a massive US Navy base in Sevastopol and turned all of Krimea in to an armed camp with enough missiles to negate a significant portion of Russia’s nuclear deterrent and to put a fair sized portion of Russia in point blank range of US armed forces. All of the sanctions piled on Russia since late March of 2014 are because President V V Putin of Russia, and Krimea and Sevastopol, did not do as she expected and demanded and refused to listen to her. As an aside it’s not too many decades in the past when such an open attack via ‘sanctions’ on a country would have brought a note delivered by the Ambassador of same with a declaration of war.
Now we are two years and nine months after the coup in Kiev. The ongoing war, read attempted regime change, in Syria is coming to a head and with Russia invited in to help the legally elected head of Syria the tide is turning to Dr. Assad’s and the Syrian populace’s favor. Any and all actions by the US Military and soldiers therein are illegal and constitute numerous felonies for each and every one of them, private to general, and every politician who has or had anything to do with that effort. I won’t even mention Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Ukraine, Kosovo and Bosnia and the hundreds of thousands of deaths involved.
Mr. Trump with his election victory has inherited a seething cauldron of a mess that will make the labors of Hercules seem but a flower pot weeding task in comparison. I have no doubts that he is well aware of the mess he is stepping in to as I have no doubts he will clean at least some of this mess, hence the cockroaches running for cover. Four years will surely not be enough and possibly eight years will not suffice either, but I sincerely wish him the best in his efforts. As for EU, I used to think that Merkel, Golland, Blair et al were in total subservience to US due to secrets Langley knows of them. I no longer think that, I think that all of them were and are more than willing accomplices in the continuous efforts to undermine and destroy Russia, in essence ‘once and for all’. They have failed and their careers are now over as is Hillary Diane Rodham’s career. She will be relegated to the trash heap of history along with the rest of them.
As for me, the facade collapsed long ago. I am well aware of what did happen and what is happening now. I am American and loyal to my America, the America of the times I grew up in, the time when I was proud of America. I have no doubts that with time America will return to what she was and should be and I will be proud of America again. However, I am happy where I live now. We don’t lock our doors when we leave for Church or errands and such. I can and have left our car outside the walls unlocked and no one touched it. This is a Navy town and we are proud of our sailors, and the soldiers and Marines based here. They are in uniform in public always and everywhere. Do you see that in US or Europe today? And the silence here at night and dawn is deafening. That is what is known as ‘peace and calm’.
I think the defining moment of my life here, in Russia, was two years ago. I had been to US, not because I wanted to go but because I had to go to take care of some loose ends and it was during that trip that I met Saker face to face. On my return the young Starshi Lutanant in Border Control looked at my US passport and then at my brand new blue Russian Residency passport. He went through every page of the Russian passport and examined my propeeska stamp with a looking glass to make sure it was real and wet stamped. He then smiled, handed both documents back to me and said “Welcome home, (my rank). Enjoy your flight to Sevastopol.” Would that I was welcomed that same way in America when I arrived. I wasn’t.

Trump seems to have approval ratings like Mr Putin himself! :)
Not at all. And it seems that Clinton did get more of the popular vote (but that is surely no reason to try the change election rules in the middle of the game!). It looks like most did not vote for Trump but against Clinton — and for those who knew what was going on I don’t see there was any rational choice.
I expect Trump to screw things up, and especially with the staff he seems to be headed for, and the right wing Republicans controlling the congress. Maybe not, but it will surprise me if things get better. Nevertheless, I still see less of a chance of major wars, including nuclear holocaust, at least for a while, and that’s of key importance for me.
I’m fed up to my eyebrows with the damned liberals — who seem to have forgotten much of what iberalism was supposed to be about. A mob of people running around shouting ‘F*** Trump, following what the leader, probably a professional organizer, probably from DNC or Soros, calls out, is hardly helpful at all, and just polarizes everything even more, and get’s further into this ‘identity’ politics garbage.
Things are not good at all, and I expect them to get worse, maybe very much worse. I suppose that can be expected as the US empire collapses, as when other empires collapsed. I don’t see Trump and Putin as comparable at all.
I cast one of the ‘against Clinton’ votes.
The American system force voters to form coalitions before the election. America is not the sort of multi-party democracy where voters can vote for the party nearest to their beliefs, and then the parties form the coaltions after the election. So, I was certain I wanted to stop Clinton. And the only viable way for me to do that was to join the Trump coaltion.
I wish him well. I live in America, and only an idiot would wish that the leader of their country fail. At this point, what most Americans know about him is the media barrage that he was hit with. In Trump’s favor, a majority of Americans now have zero trust in ‘the media’. But that probably leaves a whole bunch of us who decided we didn’t want Hillary and Bill back in the White House, but who now really can only sit back and try to watch to see what Trump is really going to do and who he really is.
But still, TPP is delayed if not completely dead, Relations with Russia are showing early good signs and there’s a bit of relief that perhaps we just avoided nuclear war. And there are hints that American support the so-called moderate rebels in Syria might be winding down, and it now seems we won’t openly join Al-Qaida in attacking the Assad government, which means that just may the hell that Hillary made for the Syrian people might show signs of coming to an end.
Not a bad week.
The good signs we see are with foreign policy while the bad signs are mostly domestic. I, and other, may not survive the domestic policies that the Republicans are likely to push through, but it’s better that that the US should collapse, taking many with people with it, than to destroy the world — not that Clinton(s) or Democrats would be all that better despite the blarney from them — looking at their record. Devil or deep blue sea or rock and hard place stuff. Even massive climate disruption is better than nuclear holocaust.
We still need an actual revolution, and to put an end to capitalism, where the only value is profit and monopoly and fascism are natural developments of that system.
It will become more obvious before too long what direction it’s going, and then we can take action against specific things — but this anti-Trump nonsense, based on propaganda and assumed personality, needs to end. Do these clowns who want the electoral college to keep Trump out really want the civil war that would cause? (Maybe Soros does…).
I’m afraid it’s going to get very interesting indeed.
I dunno if Trump will “screw things up” as you say. I believe that geopolitically speaking he will be a blessing to humanity, because if he really goes down his planned path, it will free the world for Eurasian integration and US companies will participate in building the rail roads, infrastructure etc. together with Russian, Chinese, German, French, and other companies. There won’t be no funded terrorism anymore, no regime change etc. Now this will all be fine, methinks.
But will he be able to make “America great again”? I doubt it. First of all, the country is in the shitter too deeply to be reconstructed simply by some proper bilateral trade deals with China, Russia and others. He would have to bring down the FED and shut down US imperialism (military bases) completely, and I seriously doubt he could do that without being “Dallased” by the Deep State. So, for the American people the future continues to look grim, especially since Soros & Co are already fueling the flames with those SJW protests. Serious civil war and/or secession is still on the table in the USA – and maybe that’s what Soros & Co are now planning (to cut out the “liberal” west coast and northern east).
Also, a major problem of Trump himself and his cronies is that he totally lacks the economic imagination and ideas to fix what really is America’s problem. They’re ruthless capitalists and it’s still the Republican party. One of the reasons why America is in such bad shape is because the ideas of socialism never took root there. Now, I don’t see socialism as a solution, it’s just capitalism with a band aid, but in order to fix America’s debt, you’d have to get rid of the debt-money-system and America is pretty much the last country where I see that ever politically or culturally possible – at least for now. In five to ten years, things might already look different.
So, Trump will be awesome for the world, but not that much better for the Americans than Hitlery would have been.
But I am more curious about Europe for now (being German and all). I believe that Germany is now going to be the world’s main hub of the “NWO” with a chancellor, government, and media 100% in line with that neoliberal terror ideology. Why do I think that? Because Trump is now the “New Putin” in our propaganda bullhorns, with even designated chancellor candidate and president of the EU parliarment Martin Schulz calling the president-elect as mentally unstable and worse. Germany was already the true economic backbone of the “West” and with Warschington to the “NWO” (for now), it is the political power center. But nobody in the EU still wants the fucking EU, even the German people have lost trust (still a small minority is behind it). I think that while Russia, the USA, and China will consolidate and clear up the mess of the “NWO” in the Mid-East, it will be Europe who will face serious trouble in the years to come. But I am quite optimistic on the eventual outcome. It’s just the final struggle of the “NWO”.
And after that, there will be new struggles.
Unless you deduct the reportedly 3 MILLION illegal alien vote…and of course all the dead voters. She got trounced. As any career criminal like her would deserve.
I supported Trump. And I’ve seen accusations of 3 million illegal aliens voting before. But I haven’t seen one bit of provable evidence on that. So it sounds good to claim that. But its worthless unless it can be proven.
Always a pleasure to read the Auslander!
Now we have two glorious leaders, Putin and Trump. :)
Putin the King of the East.
Trump the King of the West.
Now if we can only get Le Pen in France and Afd in Germany it will be perfect.
Very enjoyable reading, as usual, Auslander, thanks.
As for Merkel & co, you are right. For those who hadn’t realised they were “more than willing accomplices in the continuous efforts” not only “to undermine and destroy Russia” but to wreak havoc in the world – and perhaps just for the kick of it, who knows?
Their reaction to Trump’s victory is a dead giveaway: instead of a sigh of relief at the prospect of being let off Langley’s hook as one supposed, they wept with their champion Clinton, for being deprived of their sadistic pleasures…
Never mind them. Go on enjoying your life on that fine rock, along with your bride…
No matter what different people might think of Trump personally, we should be forever grateful for his sacrifices, which made it possible to break (at least temporariliy) the empire’s grip over US (and the world) and stir the pot, and force millions of sleeping people to wake up.
The same goes for Assange, maybe he is a jerk, I don’t know, but what he has done has helped us all tremendously.
“…Not only do the American people and the world owe Wikileaks and Assange a huge debt for the light they have shed on some of the truly concerning aspects of US political life, but it is not impossible that Trump owes them the Presidency.
Even if that is overstating it, Trump owes Wikileaks and Assange his thanks, and if only for that reason and given the obvious justice of Assange’s case, the right and proper thing now for Trump to do is to call the dogs off on them…. http://theduran.com/urgent-memo-to-president-elect-trump-let-julian-assange-go-free/
Also Chelsea Manning. Regardless of her gender situation, which one can have a personal opinion about, she deserves our gratitude.
All in all, 3 great guys that has singlehandedly (more or less) changed history.
The sudden self-destruction of USSR and of the Eastern Socialist regimes was devastating not only to the countries and populace of Eastern Bloc but also to the Western nations.
Suddenly, there was no alternative economic system at place and no rival superpower to US.
The process of economic neoliberal globalisation (which has started from the early 1970s) accelerated and became the dominant model. Socialist type policies were abandoned not only in post – soviet / socialist states but also to many Western European states that post WW2 had copied various soviet policies (economic planning, nationalisations, extensive social welfare, labour rights etc). Opening of markets, liberalisation of economies, privatisation of public property, flexible working relations became the norm.
All those have negative side effects that are being felt today as we can see from the disintegration that takes place in numerous EU countries.
Like it or not, the USSR offered peace, stability, and managed to cover the basic needs of all its populace (guaranteed job, free-rent state apartment, public health care and education at no cost).
It is well known what tragic fate awaited many of the Eastern European and Russian people during the transition from state socialism to oligarchic capitalism. Mass poverty, prostitution, alcoholism, emigration, unemployment and de-industrialisation, social disintegration etc.
What happens in Western states today is very similar, albeit at a slower pace.
One has to look at Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy but also to France and other countries.
There is no way back from hell unless neoliberal globalisation is overturned. But how this can be achieved is another discussion.
Well said, as Ausländer. It was the “Wind of Change” https://youtu.be/n4RjJKxsamQ (316 m views), the Scorpions song, in reality a horrible change for the worse. These guys almost certainly meant well, but were totally fooled, as virtually everyone else at that time.
The West’s (Nazi) shadow government became increasingly reckless, showing its true colors, as they openly did in Russia – 1917, and in 1933-1945 Germany.
That airport situation is true. Recently I traveled and going in and out of Moscow no one bothered me and my bags were checked in seconds. When I came back to USA I was treated as if I was the worst criminal. Take off the belt, shoes, underwear and what not. And the customs or border agents looked at me as if they were trying to catch a criminal in me. Ya oshushal kak posledni sukensin. It seems that Russia has turned into the old free USA and the USA has turned into the old repressive Soviet Union. This is ridiculous.
I had a similar experience when I flew to Sweden and back last decade.
I arrived in Sweden early on a weekend morning. I went through passport control, where a friendly person just asked ‘buisiness or personal’. I replied business, but also a little of both as I had some tourist time on the trip. Welcome to Sweden was the reply. I then followed a crowd up a corridor, expecting to go through a customs check point for the first time in my life. Instead, I emerged, a bit confused and a bit concerned, out in the main concourse. It seems Customs was closed that morning.
On the flight back, soon after we took off the stewardesses started all the announcements about US law and started passing out the paperwork required of all passengers to enter the US. Most of the announcements of US law were threats about what would happen to us if we lied on the paperwork or failed to have it ready by the time we landed. When we arrived, there was the same response as described above. Passport people eyeing me suspiciously as I returned home, dogs sniffing us in Customs, and Customs and Passport acting like they get a bonus or at least meet their quota if they can determine that I’m a criminal.
Gives one a good idea of what is freedom and what is not freedom. But, I’m an old hippie who once tried to change American culture with counter-culture, so no of that really surprised me.
When at 9/11 I heard people talking about how “we must become like Israel” and adopt their “security” I knew we were in for trouble. And the regime planned to create a “security state”. Slowly but surely they are doing that. And taking our freedoms from us.
“It seems that Russia has turned into the old free USA and the USA has turned into the old repressive Soviet Union. This is ridiculous.”
With all due respect, that is ridiculous. Pindostan has always been fascist-minded in general; racist and lawless in particular. It’s easy to be free and well-fed at the expense of other peoples’ land, labour, and natural resources. The crucial difference today is that Western imperialism has hit the buffers after 40 years of neoliberal rot and decay, while being confronted by stiffening resistance everywhere.
Conversely, the Soviet Union was a highly egalitarian society with a stunning public education, culture, health service etc. greeted with unstinting hatred and contempt by the West in general and the freedom-loving Pindos in particular.
Auslander, dear friend, your words are always edifying. The history you relate is not cursory. It seeps into our bones and marrow. The sadness of our lifetimes has been the change of course of America by the pre and post Clinton-Bush and neocons in State and Defense and Intel agencies, all of whom at heart sought the utter destruction of Russia. They have for 50 years pursued oligarchy at home and hegemony in the world.
And now, we have the irony of a billionaire leading us back to our cherished patriotic, common sense, stable, Rule of Law. His tasks are enormous. But he has readied himself for this for thirty years. And his instincts seem to indicate that his success will depend foremost in a friendly relationship with Russia.
As our wheat fields are populated with Russia genetic wheat (a great irony, that our basic bread is Russian), so too, our best future will be populated by cooperation with a nation that has never harmed America.
By necessity and common sense, we might share a stable and friendly future.
The hope is based on the fact that Trump is non-ideological, as Putin is, also. Both are nationalists and populists, intending to devote the rest of their lives on destroying hegemony and rebuilding their nations.
How soon or if ever America can return to its bucolic past is problematic.
But any retrenchment is better for human existence. America has been a Komodo dragon, killing and destroying wherever the Khazarian ideologues set the dragon loose. The day of the poisonous dragon may be over.
I was celebrating until I read what Mike Pence is. A Neocon. And it is him who is choosing members of Trump’s cabinet.
Larchmonter, my very good friend, it pleases me greatly that you and the other posters seem to like my attempts at describing situations and events as I perceive them.
I know that I look at things with a different eye than many on this blog, partly because of what I am and what I did and partly because of where I live and because of this life location I see things that many, actually the vast majority, on this blog have no possibility of seeing first hand. I also not only look but I see, I notice many things that most people miss.
What I see with Mr. Trump is the possibility of perhaps, maybe, with some luck and good fortune, this ongoing foolishness promulgated by certain factions deeply ensconced in the US Government will finally be brought to heel. If not, it’s war in the end and I have no doubts this is the last thing President Putin and President Elect Mr. Trump want, ergo I/we hope and pray that Mr. Trump and Mr. Putin will find common ground and come to accommodations and agreements to stop this headlong rush to War that Hillary Diane Rodham was so bent on pursuing.
Most here are looking at Mr. Trump with guarded optimism, very guarded optimism. We’ve seen and heard too many promises and too many statements from those diametrically opposed to us to take anything beyond actual actions as any kind of hopeful development. We can only wait and see what late January brings, to do anything else is to perceive any statements and proposed events as nothing but a dream within a dream, of no more use than the gentle sound of the wings of a delicate spring butterfly as she flies off in to the summer sunset.

That Hillary from Hades screams is not just metaphor, according to the source below she actually had to be sedated:
http://www.infowars.com/report-hillary-became-physically-violent-after-she-realized-she-had-lost-the-election/
My sense of the mood of the American people- those with guns who voted for Trump- is that they are just waiting for the call to arms and are watching the temper tantrums of the pseudo leftists with utter disdain. And they are really, really into Christmas and the family holidays this years so Soros et al had better just stop poking them time and time again or the 1% will have a thoroughly riled up, fed up populace who ” Is mad as Hell and isn’t going to take it anymore” next year.
“Hillary Clinton reportedly became ‘physically violent’ towards her own campaign staff after she realized she had lost the presidential election,”
Makes sense, actually. Unlike the world’s downtrodden and destitute, Hillary’s campaign staff have actually been found to be a bunch of ‘useless eaters’ trashing her ambitions. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Indeed, an obnoxious harridan such as Hillary Clinton takes that proverb to the point of silly caricature.
Clinton is a psychopath. In film she could be played by Patty McCormack — the Bad Seed grown up. Perhaps Rhoda was her role model.
Trump seems the ordinary sociopath, so common in business, using people, and yet capable of some idealism and even a bit of philanthropy or generativity — and yet never fully in touch with himself or others (not an uncommon neurosis in the US), nor having his personality integrated. (He actually reminds me somewhat of my father, who had a career in radio, TV, and advertising — i.e. ‘public relations / propaganda and BS. It was all about image, impressing people, and being burdened with a damaged ego.)
This political system is based on image and personality, largely a result of work such as that by Edward Bernays who took the old propaganda methods to new heights, and fit in well with the current application of post modernism and delusionally ‘creating reality’ (a specialty of our intelligent species, even more so than other animals). Many or most Americans are far more focused on on personality than policy or reality, and rather naive about the whole business When the old show The Millionaire played people would write in to the station asking for money, and a running gag on the Burns and Allen TV show was George watching what the women were doing by turning on the television, blurring the production with reality. Now we have domestic and foreign policy operating on magical thinking. The western culture is insane — literally.
Cheers Auslander….seems to be a possibility of a maidan 3 in Kiev now and next few days…….are these the final outbursts from Tymoshenko one wonders taking every opportunist moment to say she is on the side of genuine civilian protest who realise they have been sold a pup ..and maybe she is trying to say to DT that she is still there somewhere as an exprime minister discredited…..one wonders about Nuland’s “final destination ” and all those of the Kiev government too or are they needing empathy puppies and group therapy just like HRC supporters, rapidly realising their assets including the ones they failed to declare and which he been noticed by vox populi when winter is about to set in and noone can afford the reverse gas flows from Europe…..and presumably EU is still very scared of so called EU visa free promised by Poro……..
There remain many places in rural usa where people, pretty much everybody, leaves doors unlocked and goes to church. Fewer, and fewer, but they exist as testament to what’s gone. To the change. These places seem to have some acceptable level of working-class economy – ie there are real jobs. Not many, but enough of them. My entire county in California voted for Trump – some 63% I believe. People told me that they’d voted democratic for 30 years, but changed when they learned about the Beast. They voted against her.
But, the sages say, and I’ll say with them, history never repeats – it rhymes. Nobody can restore the USA. What we can reasonably hope for is some common sense reality-based struggle to avoid the abyss.
Some, expecting the Beast to be anointed, did not expect to see the Spring again.
Now, with luck, the empire will find ways to accommodate itself to a condominium rule with the other major powers.
That was, according to the non-canonical history we see through diaries, the original “deal” between Stalin and FDR. Took long enough!
Thanks Auslander!
http://abcnews.com.co/amish-america-commit-vote-donald-trump-mathematically-guaranteeing-presidential-victory/
evidently 20 million Amish voted for Trump…
I myself am willing to bet the Quakers mostly did so too.
One is inclined to muse about the reduction of over reach – a process that may take many years. One is sometimes inclined to recall Igor Panarin’s map… The US population is of course thoroughly denaturalized… consider what that implies. Dark. But not glowing in the dark – which was the previous direction…

20,000,000 Amish votes for Trump indicate the Republicrats are learning from their leftist brothers. Total Amish population in America is about 250,000.
It’s AP and ABC, for heaven’s sake. What did you expect? An honest number count? From them? It is to laugh.
Your articles are always a pleasure to read, not accidentally you have this God Blessed gift to write, which makes your lines very enjoyable. Reading it, find myself fleeing in the past, memories comes in my mind. Surely, I don’t know how was truly the life in the US (you told it) and I tend to believe it, knowing the way of life back then in my home country Romania. I was proud for my country, and I love it till today. Things have changed dramatically, the new generation has – sadly – no idea, I mean no real idea but I have no such expectations from them, of course. I can only hope that the times will be again better, and the most will return to their homes, to their country where they belong, as me. One day, I will go back too.The mountains, the hills, the rivers are waiting for me. The melody of my past is still there in that earth, those roots cannot be forgotten. What will bring the future ? who knows…but the hope for better is still alive. God bless you and your family, Auslander !
Trump ” Maybe” genuine but I am afraid his administration will be pack with the same blood thirst dogs. There is no way the Satanic Oligarchy are going to give up their power and their cherish dream of global chaos. People brace yourself for wild ride!!!
Trump’s Worrisome Neo-Con ‘Brain Trust’
http://russia-insider.com/en/politics/trumps-worrisome-neo-con-brain-trust/ri17599
That´s the issue, why nobody have nothing against certain people surrounding him, not to mention his own methods?
In the article above, you will find an interesting affair involving Jared Kushner and Chris Christie related to the father of the fomer.
Really, the people thinks these people are going to save the US or the world?
I would expect the deep US electorate to ignore all this but not certain analysts who always have been characterized for to bring out the truth, at least some.
My question is? Why is all people forgetting all this?
I am seeing that even Thierry Meyssan now!
The change is simple. The new junta is going to avoid a nuclear war. to do that they will make gradual accommodations to realpolitik. There was a neo-liberal cabal using dangerous Trotskyist
methods to destroy all national character – not only in one State, but every State, Ru, Ch, all.
New junta is,we may hope, not excessive, but they are obviously fascist – that’s with a small “f”.
Whatever they bring, whatever mistakes they make, the alternative was simply a global abyss.
It is reasonable to expect that the character of the newpres will mitigate some of the possible errors and excesses.
Examples in History are as ordinary as a dead cat.
Exchanging the old cabal for the new junta was a great bargain. But only the most credulous person would expect saints, eh?
Recall Stalin – errors, excesses, some wildly bad – but the long-term results of his correct decisions can be seen right now. Not, mind you, that Trump and Stalin have much in common… The point is that a move away from catastrophe and toward life is always good.
Long term results…Russian Fleet off Syrian coast, for starters. Who designed the mills and taught the people and built (many of) those ships and aircraft?
That’s the big problem, and you’re right, I’m afraid. You know the passage from the bible ” when they will sing peace, peace, a sudden destruction will be” But, let’s not take away the people’s hope for better future and peace, even if myself have doubts.
Auslander… thank you, I read your words with pleasure and nostalgia.
Life in rural Australia was similar to the USA during the times you mention.
Unlocked doors and kids free to fossick in the creek and climb trees.
I rode a horse to school, but too many times the horse would get out of the dedicated horse paddock, and return home leaving my brother and I to walk 2 miles. Later I hitched a ride to school by standing in the back of a milk lorry, laden with 10 gallon milk cans. Didn’t have electricity on the farm until I was 12 years old.
Australia the ‘lucky country that rode on the sheep’s back’ was the saying of the day. Then it turned into a vassal of the US. And as former Prime Minister Paul Keating said – ‘a banana republic.’

My opinion is that the States of the Rust Belt have been decisive in the loss of Clinton and in the vicytory of Trump. Clintos’16 lost 3,5% to Obama’12, whereas in those States (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin) the loss had been between 5% and 10%. Trump’16 in popular vote has not get more votes than Romney’12, but in this States he did, so it was not only “abstentionism” it was really shift.
This means that thos States that were for Obama, nnow are for Trump, so we discard “racism” as leitmotiv. Leitmotiv, is that working class has not found a better option thatn Trump, after the de-localization of American entrerprises and continous loss of jobs there, The promises of Trump of repudioating NAFTA/TTIP/TPP convinced those sectors, wherea elite progrressives preferred to dumb on Trump supporters and do not understand nothing. Rustbelt workers gave victory to Trump.
In a context of highly burdening debt, US citizens opted not to go “for new resources”, or to colonize new countrie (As Clinton proposed), but for restreinning spendings (bringing troops home and fininshinf highly costing wars). ANother thing is that Trumpfulfills the campaing-rogramm
We will see if Trum is capable to get rid of Zionist oligarchic lobby, I doubt it.
Only slightly on topic, but I thought some here may like to read some words and tone which appeared via email list on the distant edge of the Empire yesterday — 1 week after the Trump win in the USA.
I’ll leave it to the reader to decide whether this thrashing fish is soon for replacement — but words like “setback” do not suggest he’s read the new tea leaves well.
I have little doubt this ‘message’ to the parochial locals is replicated all around the rest of the new dominions. The coming change will likely be extensive as the Clinton machine (and her empty suit in charge) have long tentacles.
However, panic ye not: with a US Base in Darwin and Alice Springs, we are safe (from escape).
No “Plan B” — that is surely cultish hubris.
Trump will need to be 55% cult buster as much as president, imo.
The gods must be laughing…

A Message from the CEO
Niels Marquardt, CEO, American Chamber of Commerce (Australia)
What a week! Few predicted Donald Trump’s victory – I certainly did not – but now we can all focus on understanding what it will mean for future business between the US and Australia. I think we can expect the US to continue its strong leadership role in the Asia-Pacific region and that our security alliance will endure and strengthen; please take statements to the contrary with more than a grain of salt!
Echoing my comments in The Australian last week, Australia’s business and investment ties with the US will remain as important as ever, and we can mostly expect business as usual. One area of obvious setback, however, is free trade. Expecting a Clinton victory, I had predicted the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement would be ratified by the US Congress next month; the reality is that TPP now will not even be on the agenda for the “lame duck” session of Congress. I am therefore cancelling our planned travel to Washington for the purpose of lobbying the Congress on TPP. Once key officials in the incoming government start to be named, I and my counterparts in other regional AmChams will reach out to the incoming team. We will want to understand the Trump administration’s trade policy priorities, and we will seek to influence them. We never spoke previously on a “Plan B” if TPP was not ratified this year; now we must devise one that builds on common ground between our community and the next US administration. As we work through new information and signals, I caution our community that the system of checks and balances in the US is very different to Australia: even with Republicans now controlling the White House and both houses of Congress, the Trump administration will not have a blank cheque for any element of its agenda, and some serious bargaining and compromises will be par for the course ahead. In the meantime, AmCham will continue to engage in promoting the robust trade and investment relationship that has served both countries so well for so long.
In fact, in conjunction with the United States Studies Centre, we are launching a major study investigating the role of US foreign direct investment in Australia, as well as the reciprocal contribution of Australian investment in the US. Indeed, the United States is by far our largest foreign investor, accounting for 27 per cent of total foreign investment in Australia. Our objective is to bring the great story of this enduring relationship to the fore with a robust communications strategy, such that it becomes a more prominent part of the political narrative about FDI in Australia. We are currently seeking monetary contributions to support this effort, so I invite you to contact us if you would like to help us launch this worthy project.
[snip]
I am not optimistic about Trump Reign.
I suspect that a “Plan B” was on the cards, involving going to the Supreme Court and declaring the election results invalid, due to the “Russian influence” and whatnot. They have been paving the way for that plan for months now. That vacancy in the Supreme Court has still not been filled and Obama still has 3 months or so to nominate a “suiatble candidate”. It might be difficult to pursue that plan since Trump’s victory was so overwhelming, and it would not be a matter to challenge voting in just one state like they did in Florida 12 years ago, but who knows?
“Plan C” might be that Trump will have an “accident” or maybe impeachment for whatever they can fabricate, which would bring that neocon dog Mike Pence into the Presidency. He wouldn’t be that different from Killary.
Additionally, California and Texas are talking about seceding from the US. Whether there is any actual possibility of that hapening or not, it might add to the “Russian influence” scares and help along the “Plan B” line. It would definitely be funny if they do attempt to secede. I am curious what example would they use for or against it. Both Kosovo and Crimea seceeded from their previous countries, and both against the constitution. Both exactly the same, but one is fine and the other one criminal “annexation”. Funny that.

California has a history and a demographic divide. Yes California may do Calexit. And Jefferson may do Jeffexit. Southern California, south of the Russian River, is essentially Mexico – but not, of course, in law.
The deal in California is that the votes are in the south, while the water is in the north…a natural divide. Jefferson has the water…
The new junta has, among many tasks, the task of trying to prevent states from exits…
Come Home Auslander! We need you Brother!
My friend, I never in my younger life thought I would ever think or say this, but I must.
I am home.
How about some well-timed extended visits? :) Cool that you found home! Peace Brother!
I’m no fan of Clinton, but why the petty insistence on referring to her as ‘Hillary Diane Rodham’? Her supporters claim that the main reason she lost the election is because of misogyny. This does nothing to challenge their belief. She committed all these actions as plain ‘Hillary Clinton’. On that basis, should we also criticise the actions of Bill Clinton, Barak Obama and Donald Trump by using their middle names?
The Official List of Reasons My Election Was Stolen From Me by Hillary Diane Rodham:
The Deplorables voted against me. Why would they do that?
FBI investigation restart and termination.
White men voted against me.
The weather was bad.
White women voted against me.
Russia hacked DNC.
Misogyny
Black women voted against me.
Black men voted against me.
Wikileaks published more of their lies and some who voted against me believed the lies.
Hispanic (whatever that is) men and women voted against me.
Not all the college educated men and women voted for me.
Mormons voted against me.
The Russians did it.
People who don’t like blonds voted against me.
Some Jews voted against me.
Some agnostics voted against me.
Muslim-Americans voted against me.
Sexism.
The Russians did it.
Merkel never trusted me and gave information to Putin.
Soros betrayed me and did not change the count on his voting machines enough.
The weather was good.
Bill couldn’t keep his mouth shut or his zipper up and ruined my election.
The Martians did it in collusion with the Russians. I should never have trusted either of them.

Good ones!
You wrote “We did not lock our doors when we left home for Church, for shopping and other errands and, in fact, we did not have a key for the back door.”
Thanks for confirming that society did exist, and thrived, before we had triple locks, house alarms, car alarms, private security and CCTV everywhere (constantly being filmed “for our own protection”).
My dear lady, that life did exist and I will never forget how pleasant and calm it was. It was a different world then, a world sadly gone in most, not all but most, of USA and in reality the world.
We have vestiges of it here but I know the day will come when it is gone. That is the day we will look for a real village far from the city.
“It is said that what is called “the spirit of an age” is something to which one cannot return. That this spirit gradually dissipates is due to the world’s coming to an end. For this reason, although one would like to change today’s world back to the spirit of one hundred years or more ago, it cannot be done. Thus it is important to make the best out of every generation.”
― Tsunetomo Yamamoto, Hagakure: The Book of the Samurai
Of course, the time and the spirit of that time cannot be rolled back as a film. The time has been very well established from the beginning or in other words at the creation, and this material time has his duration limit, exactly as a human being has his established life time. The world as we know it is coming to an end, but then will be a new one on a higher scale. The spirit of a specific time-table is due to the spiritual thinking of the people who lived through that time-table or intervallum.
Hi Auslander, great writing and very nice to read, thank you.
Its wonderful to hear about the tractors in the fields, left out with gas – and no robberies…there’s no reason why things can’t be that way again, we just have to take control of the fascists. That shouldn’t be too hard once we get out sites right.
By the way, I have a job now as a kitchen staffer – serving food and doing dishes – in an old folks home in BC – Saltspring Island to be exact.
I just found out that about 8 to ten years ago, the entire staff, that wasn’t nurses or higher got their wages ‘docked’ 15% so for example – the care-aides were getting $29/hr and now they get $23/hr….10 years later.
There have been no raises…. so someone doing my job who has been there 11 years, is making the same wages as I am, who started there less than 6 months ago….which are 15% less than they were making. They went on strike of course, but were ordered back to work by the government.
Shocking eh ?
I’m going to bring it up (not physically) at the next Union meeting…I mean after all, what are Unions for, if not for ‘wages’ ?
The last silly meeting was taken up with whether ‘Black Lives Matter’ is a good or bad organization, and people like moi (me) were not of a high enough rank to even open our mouths.
What a sick joke. People nowadays don’t even know how to begin to rebel.
Sad.
But once we do…Watch out Capitalist Establishment – Watch out.
Love Ann
In the West, failed politicians do not end up on a ‘trash heap’. Instead, they are promoted to lobbyist.
So you believe Mr. Trump will initiate change, no? Are you remotely aware of the list of individuals he is consideriing for important cabinet positions and as advisors. Christie, Giuliani, Diamond, assorted neo-con crazies and neo-liberal economic delusionals. He supports the privatization of public infrastructure, especially of roads and bridges, the privatization of social security, working till you die, I could go on and on.
To make things clear, I do not participate in or legitimize in any way the electoral process in the empire. I vote only for local and statewide referendums. No matter which of the two parties win the POTUS position, that individual will cave to the dictates of the deep state and .01% corporate elites. Or they will be assasinated. Whoever wins the monetary system will not be reformed. Whoever wins perpetual war, hatred of everything Russian, all foriegn policy will remain consistant. [personal invective removed]
The days of voting for change or protesting hoping change will result are past. I grew up in the US the same time as you. The 50’s and 60’s were certainly more innocent times in amerika. Yet the deep state was still engaged in world wide death and destruction. [Advocation of violence removed] Amerika is an inverse totalitarian, facist police state. It will take the masses to organize on a level necessary to create a truly viable third option to the current system. One focused on the complete picture and not each individuals pet cause. Americans are far from ready to do so.

Thanks… I do not think it takes a genius to figure out that the empire of chaos wanted Krym for its military potential. As a real Krymchanka, I still remember (from the 60s and 70s) how the Soviet military would turn on powerful projectors to illuminate the Black Sea coastal waters every night to make sure no yankee/nato submarines showed up unexpectedly. If Putin did not take back Krym, he’d be a gonner by now… After all, what is Kosovo now, but a giant military base… Gratitude to the quick-thinking and acting Krymchane and Russian authorities… the clueless yankee never had a chance. The takeover was so quick, so smooth – elegant, one would say – it was over before the yankee could even wake up. That is probably what makes them so mad… but please remain vigilant, as the devil never sleeps.
Spot on, Gora Koshka.
The Zionazis gambled and won a colossal dungheap (Ukraine) with the hotly desired diamond (Krym) dastardly snatched away. Soros and The Tribe are in a state of burning rage and fury ever since. Sevastopol will never live to see a colour revolution — hence no faggot marches, or a crime-infested NATO compound. If this doesn’t amount to a city under extreme totalitarian Russian oppression, I don’t know what does (and, yes, to hell with Russian public opinion).
