It worth more, but it is not the first THANK YOU present.
Five years ago, in apreciation of the Syrian blood shed to defend Lebanon, Nasralla’s THANK YOU present to Syria “Leaving Lebanon” was another rifle

To The Saker:
Greetings from Lebanon.
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart about what you said in the comments section recently on your blog, about Sayyaed Hassan NASRALLAH. We totally share your views on Sayyed Nasrallah and are very happy that free people in the world recognize his leadership qualities and his frank, open and transparent personality. He is a true Lebanese HERO….and the best is yet to come….
By the way, I am not SHIA and I am not even Muslim. I am a Christian from the Heart of Mount Lebanon.
Thanks again Saker.

Thanks for your very kind words!! By the way, I am a Christian too, an Orthodox Christian (Rum), of a rather very traditionalist branch of the Greek Orthodox Church.
Can you do me a favor? Send me an email so I can get your email address to vineyardsaker@gmail.com (-: feel free to use an alias/handle, after all, that is also what I do :-)
I would like to get in touch with you directly.
Kind regards,
The Saker
Saker;
I think that this rifle goes back to the days of the Hizbullah Resistance’s victories over IDF prior to their total defeat in 2000…In 2006, such FAL rifles were not in use anymore by IDF, unless some Israeli soldier was attached to this old model?….
@anonymous11:58: interesting point! I did not even pay attention to the kind of rifle that was.
I had a Jewish friend who had emigrated from Russia in the 1980s who was sent to Lebanon almost immediately after his arrival. He told me that a lot of Israelis never used their rifles, but “adopted” the AKs that they would seize in Lebanon. (after one tour in Lebanon, my friend emigrated to Germany). Anyway – I don’t know who strict the weapons discipline is in the Israeli military or even what kind of rifles they mostly use today. So you might well be right – could well be an older model.
Maybe one of our Lebanese or Israeli readers could fill us in on the details?
That looks like a Galil 308…. not a FN FAL. The handguard gives it away.
Cancel my last comment, that is def NOT a galil… and is a fal.
