This is one of the last settlements left before reaching Donetsk city proper from the south. That means that Ukrop flanks at the very edge of the “Great Cauldron” are finally starting to come into danger of encirclement very soon. Things will continue to snowball from here as RF forces continue to consolidate in this area and concentrate greater and greater firepower onto smaller and smaller groupings of settlements.
And as you can see by the map, there are already advancements and fighting in the next few settlements north/northwest of there, so they too will fall soon and then Donetsk’s southern end will be fully connected to the advancing frontline, and the Great Encirclement will truly begin in force

Did the MoD post this kind info before? Is it a form of warning that if not desist, those planes will be targeted? For sure intelligence sharing was ongoing from Day 1, and was in all prior wars for each side. But is it even relevant anymore with >85% military potential degraded? My understanding is the only planes which can matter now are those which drop bombs.
Question is, why wasn’t this airforce command -centre in Vinnitsa destroyed by the Russians in the first few days? I remember the Russians saying they destroyed vinnitsa airport. If so, why wasn’t this command place destroyed too? Why weren’t the anti missile systems destroyed there too?All the awacs can’t help ukro defences if there is no command and control to receive info for the anti-missiles even if the latter survived.

but not sure if the command HQ was hit and if not, why not. Maybe it’s something highly protected in the style of an underground bunker, hard to know for sure. I know some of those facilities are carried over from soviet times so they could have been some fortified bunker able to withstand nuclear strikes or something along those lines.
As for the E-3 planes, yes I’ve been following them on flight trackers for days they skirt up and down the Polish border right next to Ukie border 24/7. Their radars can reach as far as Kiev at the most but wouldn’t be able to see anything in the east of Ukraine where most of the action is anyway.

Look up the history of the Ukrainian written language. It appears to originate in Lemburg, present day Lviv, in Galicia in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Now I can think of several reasons the Austrians would want to split their Slavs from Tsarist Russia or another Austrian would hire them in WWII.

I don’t post much and usually brief posts, but this could be a longer one.
The current situation leaves me speechless and torn. What I see is the culmination of decades of imperialistic and antirussian propaganda. To me, an east-german, with considerable experience of the GDR system, this is quite staggering.
The problem is, that right now the divisions appear between me and loved ones, comrades in hobbies and sports, and in general I feel like being part of a miniscule minority. For the sheer amount of propaganda is, to be frank, totally overwhelming.
I won’t speak about the MSM, it’s clear why they do it. For me it is also understandable when certain aquaintances with roots in the system, be they simply lack of intelligence or being part of the upper classes, are totally adapted and brainwashed.
But now lichess.org, which is one of the major free chess sites in the world has taken stance and shifted the blame and guilt entirely on Russia and Belarus, without even mentioning a tiny factoid about what the reasons are. As you probably surmised, I am an avid and quite strong chess player, I am aware of the role chess plays in Russian history and society, their contribution to the development of chess. Seeing their flags banned from lichess aswell leaves a very bitter taste. This is not limited to lichess, chess24 and chess.com did the same.
I feel like a stranger in my own country, I am shocked and somewhat afraid and to be honest, it feels like many people have simply gone insane.

Yeah darkmoon, its real hard realizing you can’t drink from the well of collective consciousness because its poisoned, while many around you will attack you for trying keep them from poisoning themselves. Change the only thing you have control of, yourself, and you change the world. Its hard not to get distracted, its easy to start creating the very thing you are upset about too.
I’ve been angry about how easily wound up everyone seems to be to blame anyone or anything but themselves by falling for the so obviously deceitful “nasty popular high school girl” strategy of the west. Then I realize I just fell for it too, several layers deeper. It isn’t worth caring about what she thinks or how many followers she has. Don’t give it your power. The world needs it focused on making it better, not how no one else is. Because now there is one less by doing so. Conscious creators have so much more power than popular girl followers and peer pressure conformers. They are just repeaters. Don’t worry about them, you are the one that is important, you are a signal creator.
Maybe said another way, everyone are abused children at various stages of development and they obey their abusers. You can’t rescue them but you can help them, as long as you remember they are just children, from a place of love. Adapt accordingly, don’t tell a 7yr old his daddy is a liar and expect him to hear what you have to say, especially when that 7yr old is 52. Its kind of crazy to realize how few adults there are in the world. Thats part of what we are all going through. The world is run by child abusers (metaphoric but in some cases literal). Its real hard to absorb and not get pulled into darkness. You are not alone.

Now, imagine the established range of an airframe is like this: You fill up Your car, get on a highway, set the cruise control, sit back – and count the miles. That is what a theoretical range for the Mig29 is.
Air combat is not like that. You fill your car up to the gills with luggage(weapons), and You Use full throttle, full brakes, screeching tires practically ALL the time while You are painted by hostile radar.
Your 900 kilometer range becomes a 100 kilometers using afterburners…and you still have get home…

I didn’t read the article so apologies if it’s already stated. The Mig-29 is noted for its very short range as it’s not meant to be long range interceptor. But I was under the impression from a post I’ve read that Poland has 12+ or so of the variants that were heavily upgraded, improving their range to double or triple (with external tanks) of the original range. I.e. from 1000km or less to over 2000-2500 and 3000km+ with tanks. But I haven’t verified yet if the Polish airforce in fact has these variants

Those external tanks extra weight, drag, space, limiting the weapons loadout. This what extra tanks do for you in reality – You go in smooth, optimal cruising speed, then as soon as thing get hairy, drop them and boogie.
With the range of the Russian air defense batteries, they will not even get into range of doing anything significant before they will have to maneuver to avoid being locked up. Without air to air refuelling, AWACS, electronic counter measures, radar supression(wild weasel), they are fish in a barrel.

Sorry Dave, that’s nonsense. Mig-29 simply doesn’t have the range to fly from the so called “Kosovo” to Ukraine, do combat and then fly back. The 29 was designed as a short range tactical fighter.
Besides, even if the Americans did decide on something so ridiculous and if it was technically possible, there would be repercussions with Serbia since the province of Kosovo and Metohija is an integral part of Serbia, albeit under US/NATO occupation. Even in a sorry state Serbia is in right now, with the government such as it is, this would not go well for US and their Ukie tools.

In a nutshell: Kherson is still stewing in its own juice and Ukrainian titushki are literally driving pensioners away from distributing Russian humanitarian aid. And they threaten with reprisals for any cooperation with the Russians.
CSKA do not interfere in these conflicts. There is virtually no one to protect the population. As a result, those residents of Kherson who perceived the entry of the Russian army as liberation are still not released at the moment.

Meeting of the Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine
The Russian Federation, solely for humanitarian purposes, has taken another initiative to “official Kiev” to open ten humanitarian corridors today, and to evacuate civilians and foreign citizens from Kiev, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Mariupol – including one humanitarian corridor from each city to the Russian Federation, as well as one through the territories controlled by the Kiev authorities to Poland, Moldova and Romania.
At 2 o’clock in the morning, we received an official response from the Ukrainian side, in which the proposed routes for evacuation to the territory of the Russian Federation were categorically rejected.
Only three routes have been agreed: one on the Kiev direction to the south, as well as from Sumy to Poltava and from Mariupol to Zaporozhye, but three more are additionally proposed – from the city of Energodar to Zaporozhye, from Volnovakha to Pokrovsk, from the city of Izyum to the city of Lozovaya.
In addition, the Ukrainian side has put forward absurd and obviously impossible demands: on one route to carry out mandatory mine clearance, and mine-explosive devices installed by nationalists, and on the other – to restore the road bridge destroyed by the AFU during the retreat.
The absurdity of these demands is also that both routes pass through territories controlled by nationalist battalions.
This suggests that those in Kiev who coordinate humanitarian corridors with us do not fully know the situation on earth. At the same time, taking into account our responsibility for the humanitarian component and ensuring the safety of the exit of civilians and foreign citizens forcibly held by nationalists in the blocked settlements, we also agreed with the additional routes proposed by the Ukrainian side.

In addition, since 9:57, continuous artillery and mortar fire, including on the positions of the Russian Armed Forces in the suburbs of Kiev, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mariupol and in a number of other settlements, as well as on humanitarian corridors initiated by the Ukrainian side, has practically not stopped. On the Volnovakha, Zaporozhye and Izyum directions, intense fire was conducted from the nationalist battalions using mortars.
A similar situation occurred yesterday during the declared cease-fire and withdrawal of foreign citizens and a small number of civilians from Sumy. We have observed and recorded how grossly, cynically and harshly the Ukrainian side violates the ceasefire regime, actively moving weapons and military equipment, replenishing ammunition stocks and their delivery to positions, as well as the movement of reserves. But solely for humanitarian purposes, we did not disrupt this humanitarian operation, given that the humanitarian column has already been formed and started moving. We have continuously warned the Ukrainian side about preventing provocations by all possible means. With effort, but by maintaining all the necessary security measures, we were able to save the lives of civilians and foreign citizens.
Unfortunately, today, a detailed and well-thought-out operation to open humanitarian corridors and evacuate civilians and foreign citizens in conditions of a humanitarian catastrophe has not brought the expected results, due to the fault of the Kiev authorities.
At the same time, the humanitarian situation throughout Ukraine continues to deteriorate rapidly. In Mariupol, the conditions of citizens, as a result of the monstrous actions of the nationalists and the city administration, has reached catastrophic proportions.
In the same city [Mariupol], on Kuprina street, nationalists blew up a power line and several tanks with fuel, without evacuating nearby residential buildings.
In Sumy, the nationalists of territorial defence, who allegedly assumed obligations to ensure law and order, do not prevent a surge in looting, moreover, they have formed a criminal community.
