Good read FGW; one minor correction. It was Lord Kitchener that utilised concentration camps – against Boer women and children.
You forgot the Zulu people and other blcks who were held in some 66 concentration camps. About 28,000 whites died in these camps and about 20,000 blacks. Cecil Rhodes as well as Churchill played a role in all of this. Churchil called the blacks and Indians as “kafirs” and “fakirs” beggars and snake sharmers.

Liz Truss was not only incompetent, but as the new British Prime Minister a danger to society. As previous Foreign Secretary in February she urged the British population to volunteer to fight in the Ukraine and now as Prime Minister says she has no qualms about pressing the nuclear button in a war with Russia. “I’m willing to do it,” she repeated twice. Stated at a political gathering in Birmingham in August to loud cheers from the audience.
Unfortunately, she is also incredibly stupid as befits western politicians. In a meeting with Ambassador Lavrov in January she stated that Britain would not accept Russian influence in Voronezh and Rostov-on-Don and had to have it pointed out to her that these were in fact Russian cities not in the Ukraine.
Russophobic Truss is why President Putin put Russia’s nuclear forces on high alert back in February after his spokesman Peskov warned of “unacceptable” statements and stated, “I do not want to name the authors of these statements, although it was the British Foreign Secretary.”
Parliamentary system that elected Truss to lead UK is not a democracy , it is a dictatorship of the minority. . When people vote in a parliamentary elections they take into cosidertion several criteria including the quality of the leader , qualityy of the candidate in their rididn , quality of Party poicy and they apply the same criteria to the opposition .
