- Patrushev: “Russia can’t prevent volunteers from going to the Donbass” (Source)
Russia “doesn’t call on or encourage” Russian volunteers to join Donbass militia, however, “it’s impossible to stop the process,” Patrushev said in an interview with the newspaper Kommersant. He noted that the refugees from Ukraine tell their “relatives and friends” about the “atrocities which are being committed there,” after which people depart for the Donbass under the influence of emotions and take part in combat.
Patrushev said that he can’t close the border with Ukraine. “What, are we supposed to organize a blockade, like the one around Leningrad? For the entire Donbass population? We are practically feeding them now, their situation is extremely difficult.”
The Security Council Secretary underscored that what’s happening in eastern Ukraine is a “civil conflict” in which it would be “inappropriate” for Russia to intervene.
In Patrushev’s opinion, the US is responsible for starting the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Since, according to Patrushev, US president Obama said that Washington acted as an intermediary during the Ukraine government change, he de-facto admitted the US initiated the conflict. Citing Victoria Nuland, Patrushev also said that the US spent $5 billion on Ukraine [since 1991, on developing Ukraine’s democratic institutions]. It’s the regime change that triggered the civil conflict in eastern Ukraine.
Patrushev views the Ukraine “destabilization project” as an effort “create an instrument to severely weaken Russia.”
In April, Patrushev said at the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization that the West wants to “turn Ukraine into an agrarian country.”

While much of the world focused last week on whether or not the Federal Reserve was going to raise interest rates, or whether the Greek debt crisis would bring Europe to a crisis, the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague awarded a $50 billion judgment to shareholders of the former oil company Yukos in their case against the Russian government. The governments of Belgium and France moved immediately to freeze Russian state assets in their countries, naturally provoking the anger of the Russian government.
The timing of these actions is quite curious, coming as the Greek crisis in the EU seems to be reaching a tipping point and Greece, having perhaps abandoned the possibility of rapprochement with Europe, has been making overtures to Russia to help bail it out of its mess. And with the IMF’s recent statement pledging its full and unconditional support to Ukraine, it has become even more clear that the IMF and other major multilateral institutions are not blindly technical organizations, but rather are totally subservient lackeys to the foreign policy agenda emanating from Washington. Toe the DC party line and the internationalists will bail you out regardless of how badly you mess up, but if you even think about talking to Russia you will face serious consequences.
The United States government is desperately trying to cling to the notion of a unipolar world, with the United States at its center dictating foreign affairs and monetary policy while its client states dutifully carry out instructions. But the world order is not unipolar, and the existence of Russia and China is a stark reminder of that. For decades, the United States has benefited as the creator and defender of the world’s reserve currency, the dollar. This has enabled Americans to live beyond their means as foreign goods are imported to the US while increasingly-worthless dollars are sent abroad. But is it any wonder after 70-plus years of a depreciating dollar that the rest of the world is rebelling against this massive transfer of wealth?
The Europeans tried to form their own competitor to the dollar, and the resulting euro is collapsing around them as you read this. But the European Union was never considered much of a threat by the United States, existing as it does within Washington’s orbit. Russia and China, on the other hand, pose a far more credible threat to the dollar, as they have both the means and the motivation to form a gold-backed alternative monetary system to compete against the dollar. That is what the US government fears, and that is why President Obama and his Western allies are risking a cataclysmic war by goading Russia with these politically-motivated asset seizures. Having run out of carrots, the US is resorting to the stick.
The US government knows that Russia will not blithely accept Washington’s dictates, yet it still reacts like a petulant child flying into a tantrum whenever Russia dares to exert its sovereignty. The existence of a country that won’t kowtow to Washington’s demands is an unforgivable sin, to be punished with economic sanctions, attempting to freeze Russia out of world financial markets; veiled threats to strip Russia’s hosting of the 2018 World Cup; and now the seizure of Russian state assets.
Thus far the Russian response has been incredibly restrained, but that may not last forever. Continued economic pressure from the West may very well necessitate a Sino-Russian monetary arrangement that will eventually dethrone the dollar. The end result of this needless bullying by the United States will hasten the one thing Washington fears the most: a world monetary system in which the US has no say and the dollar is relegated to playing second fiddle.

The trouble with natural theology (the notion that nature itself points us to an understanding of the divine) is that nature herself is a nasty piece of work. When St. Francis of Assisi and his namesake, the reigning Pope, laud nature as “mother” and “sister,” they open a can of theological worms. Nature is no sister of mine. Christians like to view things in terms of teleology–their ultimate goal–and the teleology of the world we know is to be destroyed in a fireball.
Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’ opens with this praise of nature:
“LAUDATO SI’, mi’ Signore” – “Praise be to you, my Lord”. In the words of this beautiful canticle, Saint Francis of Assisi reminds us that our common home is like a sister with whom we share our life and a beautiful mother who opens her arms to embrace us. “Praise be to you, my Lord, through our Sister, Mother Earth, who sustains and governs us, and who produces various fruit with coloured flowers and herbs”.
This sister now cries out to us because of the harm we have inflicted on her by our irresponsible use and abuse of the goods with which God has endowed her. We have come to see ourselves as her lords and masters, entitled to plunder her at will. The violence present in our hearts, wounded by sin, is also reflected in the symptoms of sickness evident in the soil, in the water, in the air and in all forms of life. This is why the earth herself, burdened and laid waste, is among the most abandoned and maltreated of our poor; she “groans in travail” (Rom8:22). We have forgotten that we ourselves are dust of the earth (cf. Gen2:7); our very bodies are made up of her elements, we breathe her air and we receive life and refreshment from her waters.
A leading Russian producer of electronic warfare systems is to roll out a new jammer that would render enemy precision weapons useless by suppressing guidance systems, including those relying on satellite signals.

I downloaded Yandex on my Apple computer and the engine works very well. It is user friendly and I was able to import all my links and extensions in minutes (e.g. 1password) from my other search engines.
Yandex does not require hours of learning to operate and I am looking forward to improve my users skills. My next step is to find some training modules and go through the details.

Valentina Lisitsa performed in Calgary, Alberta, Canada after the despicable CEO of Toronto’s Symphony, Jeff Melanson, turfed her from the Toronto symphony for anti-Kiev junta tweets -essentially for telling unacceptable truth. Valentina is American but was born in Kiev.
There is a large Ukrainian population in Alberta and there was a small demonstration with placards about racism outside the concert hall in Calgary . There was a uniformed police presence outside and also inside the concert hall before the performance started. They left the audience but there were at least 3 bodyguards and extra concert hall security at all the exits. Very low key and unobtrusive though and thankfully uneventful.
I have to tell you though that Valentina received an exceptionally long standing ovation.
There is hope and if Canada can rid itself of the borderline fascist Harper government in October the boorish anti-Putin vitriol should subside and a start made on rectifying the years of Harper damage. To quote Harper: “by the time I have finished you won’t recognise Canada” -possibly one of the few truthful statements he has ever made.

Ann, I know Karen Hudes seems perfectly plausible– until you’ve heard enough of her. She’s incredible disinfo. After awhile she tells you about the coneheads who are running the world. I mentioned before that the Saudi’s don’t have a military, they are staffed by mercenaries and foreigners. Except for high value items like fighter planes which are used by princes who after tens of millions spent in training are used as luxury show off personal arsenals to show to their friends and impress women. None of them will last more than a day against any one else in case of war. But these guys are great at terrorizing unarmed civilians.

If I remember correctly that region in the not too distant past was considered a part of Yemen for centuries.It has a long pro-Yemeni tradition and was seized by the Saudis in one of the wars.It’s not that surprising that people there oppose Saudi aggression against Yemen.When you have a tribal state like Saudi Arabia made up of areas with roots in other states ,its a bad idea to rock the boat by attacking those neighboring states.They may have made a fatal error in doing that.By attacking Yemen they’ve made enemies in their own Southwest.If they continue their repression against their Shia in the East they’ll face a full rebellion there as well.Between the two it could bring that regime to its end.

You seem to be misunderstanding the facts. Ukraine will be cut out of gas flow completely. Period.
And the Turkish Stream is going ahead with pipe laying. Period.
Please offer sources that contradict these facts.
As for Syria: the US is not going to invade. The preparation time for invasion for the US would be months of prepositioning men, machines, naval and material. Where is evidence of any of this.
Also, it would blow up the nuclear negotiations with Iran. It would mean a war with Russia, Iran and China on one side.
The US is doing what it wants as is. Syria is broken as a unified state. ISIL has a base of operations, chaos and death is everywhere, and Assad is blamed for it all.
Why invade? To force Assad out?
Russia has stated from the mouth of Putin that Russia will not permit that.
Again, because someone on the Internet writes an article does not mean it is policy.
Check the facts. Understand what the words used mean.

As for Turkstream, who knows what the Kremlin is trying to do? Maybe they just want as many options as possible. If they can cut a deal with Germany for spheres of influence, then Germany can get control of the gas. Anyway, Russia is making the bet that the EU will eventually agree to a deal to avoid freezing or paying an arm and a leg for gas.

in all of this I do not understand the attitude of Poland to Russia, more so by allowing the US to put missiles facing Russia, if they did but know they have put themselves in mortal danger because if these missiles are activated they will not touch Russia but many parts of Poland will be turned into a nuclear desert, and also the US does not give a dam it’s the game they like to play.

I’m a little concerned by the amount of information in these sitreps. I appreciate the obvious hard work that goes into them, but I don’t know how one person can properly vet all those links- over 215 (!!!!) in this one, daily piece. Two links I opened were pretty terrible imo. I think everyone would be better off by focusing on quality over quantity as far as these go. It’s information overload. Maybe a weekly “world” sitrep? Again, not to complain, just (hopefully) constructive criticism. Easy for me to say, I know, it’s not like I have any immediate suggestions for what to leave out. I may be alone in this thought but I truly am thinking of the authors and readers alike.
That said, I did find this gem in the “Iran Super-Stategy” piece…

No and I made it clear I really appreciate the hard work, trying to offer constructive criticism hopefully, not to complain, that it’s easy for me to say and just a slight concern is all, since I’m afraid that the information isn’t being vetted carefully enough and paring down a bit would be a better way to go. Saker do you think you or someone could on a once a week timeline compile information about the fighting in Yemen? Or at the least does anyone know of reliable English language sources that provide the information. I have been seeing videos that are from within Saudi Arabia of Houthi’s attacking Saudi tanks and small outposts. What I would like to know is are these attacks right on the boarder and more of just hit and runs or is something bigger going on. If its something bigger there should be incremental increasing attacks and attacks that are deeper in Saudi Arabia.
@ John – The southern part of Saudi Arabia seems to be experiencing an uprising against the government. Most of the population there are shiites. Whole units of Saudi troops have defected to the invading Yemeni forces. Military bases and towns in the south are currently being attacked by Yemeni forces.

Can I have your opinion on what Eric Zuesse says in his reports on Ukraine, namely how high would you rate him for accuracy on it?
I read E.Z. all the time, he’s great imo. On Ukraine he was calling out the Nazi/fascist illegal coup from day one, the Odessa massacre, the snipers at Maidan, the phantom Russian invasion(s), MH17 etc w/ complete accuracy, backed by verifiable info. Love Washingtons Blog, and of course Global Research re-publishes almost every piece he posts there.

You seem to have picked up on at least two disinfo sites. One is TheDiplomat, which does some factual reporting but nearly every story is twisted against China & Russia– as are all the comments.
The other is ConsortiumNews. They constantly push the fiction that US is actually fighting against ISIS, for example. They are so consistently apologists for whatever US does for years after everyone else wakes up that I think they’re actually meant as disinfo.

I do it intentionally so that readers come to their own conclusions .Sometimes it is necessary to put up these links to show the readers “other face” of what you consider info is not so, as is often depicted.as for myself on an individual level i find articles by Mr.Parry at Consortium news to be well written and hits the nail on the head. but i respect your opinion as well

There may be some disinfo sent to C News by CIA /Mossad/MI5 and French/BND operatives. It can be very difficult to separate truth from fiction in complex equations deriving from geopolitical intrigues.
Perhaps some have been published unwittingly on the Saker’s blog too:some posters certainly took issue with Conical Hat’s potted history of South-East Asia (to give just a recent example. ) That’s why a range of sources is important to good judgement.
Others operate through the comments section. Some are accused of subversion, even if that is not their intent.
One important feature of disinfo is that it will always contain elements of truth. So such sites should not be simply dismissed, unless the correct info can be obtained elsewhere.
Disagree with your estimate of ConsortiumNews, though would not be surprised at attempts to subvert it’s bona fides.
Good rule of thumb: don’t throw the baby out with the bath-water.
