I am categorically opposed to any “cult of personality” which some have started to sculpt out of my persona on various websites with a “patriotic” and “pseudo-patriotic” thematic. Actually, and frankly speaking, it is extremely unpleasant to read things about myself that are obviously devoid of reality. Many of the skills that are attributed to me I do not possess, not to any degree at all, and my “military successes,” for the most part, are explained not by any such “talents,” but by the enemy’s blatant ignorance in military affairs, its passivity and indecision.
I will be frank – I get absolutely no “rush” either from posters with an “idealized visage” or from fancy phrases like “an iron commander of iron strelkovites.” I can’t stand tarasconades [see note 1 below: “desperate bravados”], and such bravados are bursting through the seams already. Perhaps another, in my place, would have been convinced, but don’t expect it from me. I think of myself with measured skepticism, and I know equally well my accomplishments and my many limitations. I have no intention of engaging in politics in its pure form (I won’t even mention that this is neither the time nor the place for politics) – and it is inappropriate to build, on the basis of my fleeting popularity, various “castles in the sky” or far-reaching plans in the genre of “patriotic fantasy”.
I especially cringe at the fact that, while a real war is ongoing (it’s irrelevant whether some like this term or not – the war is already upon us), my public statements are being used by way of an “ideological bomb,” aimed against the existing government. I have written already, and will repeat again: having taken Crimea, Putin began a revolution from the top. The progress of [this revolution] is very, very difficult, it continues, but with constant vacillations from side to side. But it continues. And if we do not support [this revolution] now, its failure will sweep aside both him and the country. Moreover, during war, mutiny against the Commander-in-Chief is tantamount to a betrayal of the Fatherland. The “way of Guchkov-Milyukov-Lvov et al.,” who, in their own time, also implemented a rebellion in the name of “saving Russia,” led to a result we know well.

Note 1: Tarasconism or Tarasconade – a Russian-language Gallicism derived from the name of the city of Tarascon in Provence, France, which became famous after the publication of Alphonse Daudet’s “Tartarin of Tarascon,” the city desperate braggarts. In other words, a tarasconade/tarasconism is a speech by a desperate braggart, alternatively, a desperate bravado.

wow! In a way I like his style! I do not share his nationalistic views and esp. his lack of understanding politics. same time he is a no bs guy. that part I love.
however after macho putins stand against the west, it seems now we see reality. no support for eastern ukraine by military means and no punishment of the west.
putin: learn one thing from the usa or uk: if you threaten someone: you HAVE to go for it. otherwise you just become a joke!
A commander must lead from behind. Not because he’s a coward, but to be able to see it all and not get confused.

Which country /government is he actually talking about Ukraine, Novorrossiya or Russia? (“aimed at the existing government”… “it will sweep away this country” etc )
Is he saying if Novorrssiya falls, it will sweep away Russia and Putin???
Good. This bloke looks like a leader.
Once the desired result is secured—and in that theatre don’t ask me what that is—all such a man as Strelkov needs to provide administrators whom we would call politicians is moral direction. Then Bob’s your uncle.
You religious jokers, pray for Strelkov. He is candid like Putin.
On reading statements like this . . . after seeing pictures and videos of the Novorossian volunteers, hearing their words . . . and knowing a little about the history of Russia . . . the US, EU, ‘Ukraine’ and Putin might want to back off. They cannot, will not and should not be defeated. They are on the front line of world historical development and they are bringing us from the past into the future, full on. Novorossia is leading the way, from Russia, to the USA, to peace and freedom, back to the land, back to each other.
My thoughts exactly!
My thoughts exactly!
@Tarasconade,
I love that! In the Urals (Chelyabinsk Oblast) there are a few Cossack villages bearing the names of the battles of the Campagne de France in 1814: Montmirail, La Fere Champenoise, Paris. They are the descendants of the Cossacks who fought in France, entered Paris and gave the French and the world the word bistro! In Parizh they celebrate every year Bastille Day. The village sports in the center a copy of the Tour Eiffel (actually a relay tower for mobile telephones). The local library has many French books. A favorite is The three Musketeers!
The villagers are Orthodox Tartars!

@ BOT TAK,
Thanks for the links. It certainly does look impressive, that’s for sure.
Would it be a fair assumption to say that if two conventional armies fight each other this comparison might hold, but given the fact that both superpowers where handed their respective asses in Afghanistan, the same can’t be said if either army has to engage in an asymmetrical, liquid, guerrilla warfare?
This is what I think would happen if the Russian and US army would engage in hand-to-hand combat [boxing match – Spetnaz vs Navy rescue] @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jyUAFs8vaA
I wish Russia would take direct control of the province; the failure to respect the ceasefire is the exact stupidest thing that could be said or done.
If Strelkov et al do not see reality, then they need to be replaced by those that do.
Without Russia, the province cannot withstand the might of a second world army. They will lose public support for their intransigence in not talking a reasonable deal.
In time, they were going to win without bloodshed, but the West forced the Kiev regime to “do something” or they wouldn’t get the IMF money.
Notice how Kiev really hasn’t been that aggressive? This is not the fight that they chose, it was imposed by their masters. With their material advantage, they could have taken the region in a week (with competent generalship).
You just line up three armored columns, push forward till you get resistance, maneuver laterally, and when the enemy runs out of maneuver space, you bum-rush the objective. No planes or helicopters needed. WWII stuff.
Since that didn’t happen, we can only assume that they only refrained because the real objective was to make the people howl so much that Putin would come to the rescue with his army, not end it in one blow.
He belatedly shut off the gas and has started getting tough(er), and now we have a chance for a cease fire, and a chance to consolidate lines. The local folks could then start a new election, in three months (it starts getting cold in September, no? Need that gas!)
The election could be to elect representatives to negotiate with the central government and be representatives in an autonomous region within Ukraine.
No need to put down your arm, but for the love of God, no offensives while the cease fire is available!

“No need to put down your arm, but for the love of God, no offensives while the cease fire is available!”
With your side’s shelling and border attacks, you lot have already shown that your “cease fire” is a typical Israeli-American PR fraud.
The Novorussians have already denounced your fraudulent “cease fire” for what it is. While your zionazis use your pretend “cease fire” to situate their arsefucks into position for their post “cease fire” blitzkreig, they are quite vulnerable and make spendid targets for annihilation. Strelkov detailed such an attack in his most recent briefing. How they deal with your zionazis is their business, but I do hope the success Strelkov reported gets repeated big time and many, many of your zionazis will get that one way ticket to hell they so deserve.

Via the internet, Yuri has been recruiting Russians to fight in Ukraine on the side of separatist rebels. He says it’s to protect the people of Novorossiya.
On its website, the group recently advertised for tank drivers, helicopter pilots and for people who know how to operate rocket launchers.
Kiev has identified this organisation and its website as one of the main recruiting grounds for Russian fighters in Ukraine.
“There is a saying,” Yuri tells me. “You can’t do good without using your fists. Sometimes it’s necessary to take up arms to protect those who need defending. We call it ‘armed charity’.”

Daniel Rich nice link @ 23 JUNE, 2014 02:34, sums up this whole Ukraine contest pretty well.
Yesterday at 22 JUNE, 2014 04:22 you talked about Russia’s brilliant tactics with its border moves.
I wanted to ask you then but the thread was too old – may I ask your opinion – how did Kiev get the idea to move their aggression to the Russian border?
I don’t really want to discuss this very openly in such a heavily monitored website, but I missed observing the key to this decision. Was it Poro’s idea?
Someone in this contest is fighting with sistema, and it’s not the west. You don’t need to reply, but like you I look forward to reading the book about this entire battle one day ;)

You might want to look up the term “concern trolling” – maybe you’ll suck less next time you try it.
Now I’m just an old bloke wandering around Runcorn with a piece of St Georges Ribbon tied round my arm. No biggie. It’s just my way of demonstrating against war crimes in East Ukraine, my way of calling for a ceasefire and dialogue.
Your sarcasm and abuse does your cause no good.
The same applies to Mr “unquestioning” “brainwashed” Anonymous.
@ Grieved,
[not sure if the following question is directed at Saker or me – this is just in case]
Q: Was it Poro’s idea?
R: Do not forget that Nuland had named ‘her man Yats‘ as replacement, before anything had happened…
Let that sink in for a moment. A foreign entity [DC] decides who will be ‘your’ new Prime Minister…
Poro has the same tactical and strategical competence as my drowned tortoise; none. If what happened in Georgia is anything to go by, both the US and Israel make the decisions and do the planning. I think BOT TAK summed it up succinctly in that this farce aka ‘cease fire’ is only meant to get troop@s and armament in place for the next face.
I think that Putin/Russia’s move to have troops combat ready is the best thing to do under these circumstances [both strategically as well as militarily].
If you remember, the real nasty stuff began after the Russian troops moved away from the border.
This is not a game of chess any longer. This is Russian roulette with 5 bullets in the chamber…
Grieved @ 05:24
I commented on the border moves yesterday:
Kyiv is now doing something extremely risky. In the last few days two armored wedges have been advancing along the borders, in the uninhabited open fields to the south and west of the urban Donbass industrial area. (I guess this is where Poroshenko thinks his 10 km buffer zone would be.) The tank units are almost driving into a trap. They can easily be pocketed and boxed, at least if the Donbass forces gain any offensive capability. From the Russian side they almost look like a honeytrap; if Russian troops or even “peacekeepers” were to move in now, they could be encircled and trapped without firing a shot.
One additional point: With the Ukrainian tanks in battle right at the border, it is no longer possible for Russia to withdraw its forces from the border. At any moment the battle may move into Russian territory – simply because either party wants to outflank the other by taking the safe route through Russia. Therefore it may be false to assume that the concentration of Russian armor at the border is any indication of an impending Russian invasion or even support for Novorossiya.
BOT TAK are you intentionally misinterpreting me? It seems like it.
Regardless, the international community is moving towards a resolution, and extremism on the part of the rebel leadership will find them completely isolated.
I’m hoping they are not that blind and foolish, because it they are, all their people fought for will be lost.

Looks like #TeamNSA leader and former NSA counterintelligence officer John R. Schindler has had a breakdown involving sending sexual selfies to young women. “Gazprom” stop for maintenance “Nord stream”!
Thus, the intentions EEurope to pump in store enough gasto maintain good relations with the US, to have the levers of pressure on Russia and the necessary time to “razresevanje Ukrainian energy crisis. Such possibility at Europe no more. If The European Union will continue to dance to overseas tune, technical work can be delayed indefinitely…”
Translation kind of confusing, but Gasprom has apparently shut down Nord Stream “for maintenance” and closed some kind of loophole related to gas sales between Europe and the Ukraine.

Here are the Ukrianian oligarchs reactions:
Kolomysky, commander of a “private army” openly told the president that he will never obey and his army will finish off the separatists.
Lyashko, commander of another “private army” refused to accept Poroshenko”s “peace plan”.
Who runs the state of Ukraine – certainly not Poroshenko?
Neat news! Putin told a nationwide TV audience last night not only that Kiev is violating it’s oh-so-generous ceasefire, but that
““Unfortunately, the things we’re registering with the aid of specialized recorders prove that combat operations don’t stop in Ukraine and we saw a rather intense activity of Ukrainian artillery last night,” Putin said on a live program of Rossiya’24 channel.”

You relay a link on Israeli (aka ISISraeli) attacks on Syrian military – btw cynically exploiting the death of an Israeli teenager -:
http://news.antiwar.com/2014/06/22/israeli-air-strikes-pound-multiple-syrian-army-sites/
Jason Ditz (from antiwar) comments,
“Israel’s air strikes don’t appear to be border-specific, but are hitting military targets across the region, including the nation’s military headquarters. Though the casualties are not yet clear, strikes that significantly degrade the Syrian military could inadvertently aid not only the US-backed rebels but also ISIS, the largest rebel faction, which has taken over much of the country’s east.”
Over and above Ditz’s assessment of the field in Syria right now, which I suspect is far from objective, please note especially that word “inadvertently”. There is nothing inadvertent about it at all. ISIS is allied with ISISrael. After all, are we to believe that the US (having spent billions on all kinds of hi-tech spying gear) was taken by surprise when the Lebanon press knew the ISIS would start an Iraq campaign months ago? No way!
Not surprisingly at least two key staff members at antiwar (Ditz and Raimondo) are jewish (i.e. they clearly belong to organised Ziocrazy jewry, that’s all I mean, Saker).
Remember, despite the name, the antiwar team is part of the war machine. While MSM deal in less than tenth-truths, sites like antiwar deal in quarter-truths and, at best half-truths. I don’t know which are the more dangerous (tenth-truths, quarter-truths or half-truths) but it’s important for them that all levels be covered. And they have the means.
I thought for a while the antiwar team were pretty cool, but the devil’s in the details. It took me a number of months’ monitoring and mounting anger to definitively conclude this. I spent time over it basically because I didn’t want to believe what I state quite confidently here. But these repeated occurrences of hypnotic weasel words like inadvertently, apparently, alleged etc. were far too frequent to be the product either of carelessness or of some sincerely held belief, either in general comment or sitrep items like the above. I complained to antiwar and warned them and readers of the behaviour of certain staff. So they blocked me from using their comments.
Thx for attn, excuse me for length, and all best to all friends.

I’m sure there are some very good reasons why Syria (and every other victim of Israeli day-in day-out violation of internal law) never ever responds in specie to these aggressions, but for the time being I am at total loss about them. And you?

But, at the same time, if Russia actively intervenes, Russia would be there to blame.
Of course! And I’m quite sure, if that happens, if Russia takes out a big stick, that is something Washington is hoping for all the time. This is why they are going so hardcore and push Ukraine to execute these wishes. They hope that Russia would be unwise and come in with big troops, and take up the battle. And I don’t think Russia will do that, there are other ways of answering slowly and little step by little step. And I think Russia is doing it quite well right now.
If they continue this way, it is bad for the local population, it will bring the Russian Government under pressure at home, that is correct. But, at the same time, it drives the Western politicians nuts. They get crazy over the fact that Russia is patient, very constructive, all the time talking to everybody explaining exactly what they are doing and the Western side is looking like a warmonger all the time. That cannot continue that way for a long time in the West.
