After the Mongol invasion (1240) and the passage of Ukrainian lands under Polish and Lithuanian rule (mid-14th century) the peasants’ rights were further restricted and their rents increased, until they lost their personal freedom and became serfs wholly dependent on the landowners. That enserfment was part of the so-called second serfdom that characterized the economy of Eastern Europe beginning in the late 15th century, precisely when serfdom was dying out in Western Europe. Surveyors divided up the arable land and established demesnal estates (see Filvarok) on which the peasants had to labor as a form of rent to the landlords; peasants also had their own, much smaller plots, from which they eked out their sustenance. Ukrainian peasants resisted enserfment (eg, the Mukha rebellion in 1490–2), but they were forced to submit. After the Union of Lublin (1569), when all Ukrainian lands formerly under Lithuanian rule passed to the jurisdiction of the Polish Crown, the Ukrainian peasants were encouraged to colonize the relatively empty southwestern and eastern territories of Ukraine. Oppression in Ukraine’s heavily populated west led to a great eastward movement of population. The burdens of serfdom were much reduced in eastern Ukraine, both as a natural result of the population (and hence labor) shortage and as part of a deliberate policy to attract colonists. At the end of the 16th century, for example, peasants with one lan of land in Chervona Rus’ (Galicia) owed four or five days’ labor on the filvarok; in Volhynia and the region west of Kyiv they owed two or three days; and in Left-Bank Ukraine and the Bratslav region they paid money rent only. Peasant obligations were steadily increased, however, and by the 1640s, peasants in Volhynia and the Kyiv region worked five days on the lord’s estate, and peasants in Left-Bank Ukraine and in the Bratslav region worked one or two days.

I have just seen this night and I found it very interesting, as usually happens with all his statements.
Hoping the “Novorussia” movement to spread all over the world and we can collaborate.
Thank You to Kazzura.
It is my considered judgement that Aleksandr Zakharchenko is not a man to steal from widows and orphans.
So what does that make Strelkov?
I doubt that Strelkov’s setting up a charity will increase the volume of aid coming into Novorussia. If someone has a reason to believe that Strelkov can tap into sources hitherto not accessed, I’d be interested to know who. Did donations stop from some sources when Strelkov lost control of the distribution of aid?
This grouping will contribute nothing to aiding Novorussians and I suspect what little power it accumulates will be devoted to the secondary purpose: hanging from lamp posts those whom Strelkov blames for his loss of influence.
Down with wreckers and splitters!
Cassandra
You are indeed filled with disruption and gloom Cassandra, Strelkov has not said anything about Zakharchenko in this interview. He mention those willing to profit from war.
In any country where there has been corruption and poverty, theft of aid goes on regularly usually by someone who has access to some part of the distribution. follow Strelkov’s interviews and you will see he is doing everything he can for Donbass. He his risked his life for these people. Who would know better than those who fought along side, him, Cassandra deserves ignoring however I hope no one is discouraged by that nasty comment an effort to ruin help for these people. It proves someone is worried about help going where it should. No one but those who risked their lives can be trusted, and the least trusted are those who sit at home pointing fingers from the safety of their recliner armchair.
So, the organized trolls have a Cassandra?
Strelkov has the heart of the militia. All the most important unit leaders are his guys.
This organization is a clever humanitarian effort that also serves to work against the bureaucrats and the fifth columnists. It is no threat to the Putin policy and it keeps Strelkov front and center in the big picture.
Does anyone think the statement about Russia should be Belarus, Ukraine and Russia again is not Putin’s ultimate vision?
If Putin wasn’t in office as leader, he would have been sitting at the table with the others.
Look up his family’s history fighting in WWII.
Here’s a bit from Wikipedia.
“his father was a conscript in the Soviet Navy, where he served in the submarine fleet in the early 1930s, and later served on the front lines in the demolition battalion of the NKVD during World War II and was severely wounded in 1942.”
“Putin’s maternal grandmother was killed by the German occupiers of Tver region in 1941, and his maternal uncles disappeared at the war front.”
When you grow up with Nazis having devastated your family, it seems Putin will be backing Novorossiya in all ways possible.
Strelkov is very careful to do nothing to rock the boat. But remember this: Putin gave very high medals to the leaders of the polite green men in Crimea. His praise was ebullient for what the military did and how they did it. And Strelkov was in the midst of that Crimean defense, sent by Putin and the FSB, who happen to be the primary support of Putin’s entire political career and the source of his power.
My thanks to Saker for posting the video. And deep thanks to Kazzura for the subtitles.
Accountability?
That’s quite an alien concept in most, if not all, of the western political hallways.
If Putin wasn’t in office as leader, he would have been sitting at the table with the others.
Thank you Larchmonter. That may be the most perceptive thing I’ve ever heard said about Putin. Certainly one of the most heartwarming.
Strelkov is an extraordinary force in this situation, a man who actually could kill all the oligarchs, where Russia might hesitate to do so publicly. He’s a weapon who could act in many useful ways. Right now I agree he’s idling his engine and trying to do what good he can. But if the call comes…

Hi Saker !
Yes, this was a very interesting conference. Perhaps you will obtain the address where people in this part of the world can send what money they have to Novorossiya…(sp?) I didn’t get the full name and address….
To Larchmont 2:53
To add to you great comment…I watched a documentary that explained to me what Putin did the night of his Presidential nomination…I mean January 1st 2000…
He went on a small plane to Chechneya and spent the newyear’s with the Russian soldiers…and this documentary even has footage of the party that night…a very small party of tired soldiers, and Putin and his distressed wife…its wonderful…Putin’s face is nothing short of adorable. He’s so happy to be there…
oops Larchmonter445 I meant:
thumbs up !..
“So, the organized trolls have a Cassandra?”
Trolling For Shekels™ Hasbara call centres have many names and moniker´s but never ever one related or associated to their tribe.
Thanks for posting this, Saker.
I disagree with Strelkov regarding the importance of elections. A Novorossian leadership composed of people duly elected as opposed to self-appointed militia leaders, however courageous, dedicated, and talented, is a pre-requisite for Russia or other countries to recognize Novorossia as an independent sovereign state and be able to provide open and direct aid to another state with a democratically elected government.
From a military point of view it might be unimportant or even counter-productive to have a non-military civilian leadership presiding over them, but no state is going to recognize a group of self-appointed militias lacking even a central command as the legitimate government of a country.
It will likely facilitate the consolidation of the militias into a single army as the elected leadership can speak for the people of Donetsk and Luhansk republics with the authority of having been duly chose by the people to represent them.
A high turnout at the elections in Donbass with people queuing in line. There is no wonder that the Anglo-Zionists wanted to suppress the election. It is impossible to cast the NAF as terrorists if they are not actually terrorizing anyone.
Strelkov is now mere pensioner (in relation to Novorossia). He was enthusiastic leader and brave commander, but it’s over. He believes he serves to Russian interests but he can’t accept neither he isn’t Russian top leader nor other people also want to serve Russia. His insult to Putin (4.7.in Slavyansk : “It is difficult to understand and accept, that, over three months (it will soon be three months since we arrived in Slavyansk to help the local population defend their rights), that, over these three months, no real help has arrived.”) was far beyond he would tolerate from his own subordinates. Also his relations with Bolotov, Kositsyn, Khodakovski were disastrous. To Khodakovski, probably most defamed man in Novorossia: he and his men are former Alfa and Berkut members, so they have totally diferent mentality from miners and steelworkers in Slavyansk brigade. They never were cowards in battle, let alone traitors. Ask Akhmetov if he consider Khodakovski his dedicated servant, LOL. People should decide whether they want to win the war or heal forever Strelkov’s hurted ego.
if we had doubts about the voentorg and its status, lo and behold

Reposting this from yesterday with part I. Apologies.
Why Vladimir Putin is not an egg-head or fool for the Talmudic committees of Zion: A rant for laterally-thoughtful denizens of the Vineyard
Part I
Anyone wandering into a typical North American grocery store or Walmart in search of a simple necessity like eggs will probably be confronted by a large and very well stocked freezer containing a vast array of ‘choices’ including white, brown, small, medium, large, extra or extra-extra large, organic, omega-3, anti-cancer, free run, fair trade, (pharmaceutically induced) double or TRIPLE yokes or YOKES of oppression, local, domestic and often even Airbus imported EGG-ezez from China all of which may be available in traditional or recycled cardboard paper, foam or super elaborate heavy duty FOUR FRICKEN OUNCE crystal clear THREE PART plastic folding packages enumerated in multiples of six six six.
Grrr…
To any normal chicken or semi empathic human being it should be viewed as a horror show but to the typical neo-con-sumer it is proof positive that you are a privileged and exceptional member of a (soon to be) coffee coloured race and further that eating too many eggs is never a problem because your flatulence smells like roses to Mexicans and foreigners.
Now supposing you are insuffciently medicated and/or unaddicted to an electronic feedback device meant to program YOU so the dizzying array of CHOICES for not just eggs but EVERYTHING doesn’t make your head explode like a hapless victim from the pre CGI cult classic movie Scanners (wherein they used real meat packed with explosives) and you decide to boil things down to what is healthy, ethical and environmentally sound as well as you can but if so Mrs. Mister you’re due for serious disappointment because in spite of the multitudinous availability of ‘options’ you will NEVER be able or permitted to achieve a reasonable balance of good decisions that can altogether be judged wise.
No. Never. NEIN!
I have never in my life seen a simple paper egg carton containing natural, free run eggs in any major or minor grocery store because the perfect trifecta of healthy, environmentally friendly and fundamentally ethical possibilities has been entirely removed from the realm of possibility. If you want non-GMO eggs delivered by unbrutalized birds and no less than together you are a troublemaker and your punishment is you will be forced take your eggs in the aforementioned plastic container from hell because it is permitted for you to be health conscious and maybe an animal lover/people hater but only if you will also admit you are a CHOSEN person who has the RIGHT to use virtually indestructible petroleum based products exactly ONCE before they are thrown away and landfilled so that someone else has to deal with your glutony in a post apocalyyptic future five centuries hence (predictively programmed into you by Star Trek). Some of you may have already got the gist of this arrangement which consistently ensures the best options or combinations of options have been intentionally removed for absolutely EVERYTHING.
WHY?! (taking a deep breath).
Part II
Each of the so-called choices you are encouraged to think you can make must first be put before a Talmudic K-K-K-COR commitee by which the Anglo-Zionists pre decide everything on your behalf and which carefully considers the consequences of your potential ‘decisions’ and measures them against their own overall objective of teaching you you are a stupid Goy and it is better to either give in or at least subconsciously admit that in reality you have no choice on any matter of import and should meekly go along with the decisions of WAY smarter people like the oligarchs, CEO’s, technocrats and Rabbinical soul-stealers who already rule your world and will destroy you and the rest of your fellow patheticos at the drop of a yamulke or ivy league grad cap and always in the name of PROFIT or the GREATER GOOD where ever and whenever they decide the Numbers in their vast array of Pyramid and ponzi schemes don’t add up and it’s time for a financial crisis or total biological RESET of biblical proportions.
Some will recall, at the outset of the crisis in Ukraine, the London Daily Telegraph published an unusual map alongside a story detailing the escape and unknown whereabouts of Viktor Yanukovich, immediately following the Western sponsered ouster of his own gangster-ridden but duly elected government – whatever that means. The bi-curious map they published divided this artificial German-Bolshevik invented country into roughly two equal parts along the line of the Dnepr River and in the colours of the Ukrainian national flag. Google it if you must but I won’t help FT’s metrics or intelligence by posting a link to their site which grabs hold of your browser and refuses to release it until you are properly identified and catalogued.
Veteran observers of geopolitical affairs immediately understood this fictional and highly sugeestive map representing no historic, political or recent electoral imaging of Ukraine was an offer (read offer you can’ refuse) of partition made to Vladimir Putin direct from the Luciferian Bankster Imperium in London itself. While the Empire had seized full political control of Ukraine Moussiere Putin was given an illusory CHOICE in the fashion of all choices made available by Anglo-Zionists where-by he could still save face and protect certain vital interests (but excluding Crimea, home of the Black Sea fleet) by marching his soldiers up to the borders which these slimebag parasites had unilaterally pre-determined all by them-vainglorious-selves.
Please note once more and for the sake of greater clarity that if Putin was supposedly in “cahoots” with the West then Crimea would not hyave been excluded from the London Telegraph offer sheet. Instead the Anglo-Zionists and their various Tavistock and CFR Talmudic think-tank committee ‘strategists’ had creatively wrought for Putin an impossible choice with a built in tripwire which he could not help but stumble over if he did ultimately decide to seize eastern Ukraine because any aggressive move on his part was guaranteed to include Crimea and therefore incite a new Cold War plus media shit-storm — on Anglo-Zionist terms — of the kind which makes BBC announcers look positively flushed and orgasmic.
At this point I feel a responsibility to warn you off of imagining plastico Katy Kay in heat (ugh) or what goes on especially amongst meteorologists at BBC office parties (eventually sacrificed in Masonic death cult rituals).
Part III
If the Anglo-Zionists had been dealing with anyone other than the current Russian President he would have almost certainly taken the bait the way he did once before in Georgia and Abkhazia but VVP learns from his mistakes and now fully understands any offer made by these self-styled master-bait-ors of game theory is always a trap designed to give you the illusion of choice while seemingly confirming your innate superiority but which in fact ALWAYS results in your utter co-option and eventual degradation to the status of willing participant and unalterably committed tool. The only decision with respect to these sheisters you will ever really have which will not ultimately empower them and eventually destroy you is to avoid them and attempt to create your own options as Putin did when he took matters into his own hands by unexpectedly securing Crimea and speaking Novorussia, at least tempoarily, into existence.
Individually and for you the task is much more difficult but at least in the matter of eggs you can buy several hens and a cock to drive your neighbours bird-shit crazy by building a smelly chicken coop in your backyard or other heavily taxed ‘property’ but only if you so happened to be independently wealthy and sufficiently ‘priviledged’ which almost certainly means you will not make such a decision because you are a respectable Anglo wannabe or some derivative thereof. Urban hipsters are entirely excluded from this formula because they are so perfectly despicable and fake (now chanelling Holden Caufield) and they are themselves just junior Anglos in training searching for a way to balance off their current disonance and future life of deviant hypocrisy.
And just to hammer home my point that Vladimir Putin is unsaintly but a Great Leader who understands his enemies perfectly, not only did he blunt the worst aspects of the cunning AZ plot but he took it one step further by banning their fucking disgusting GMO rat-food and thus saved the Russian people from facing a similar dilemna when they go shopping for a seemingly inconsequential item like eggs.
As always perfect consistency in thoughts or deeds is a bitch and will make your zombified neighbours think you are a loon but the inability of professional consumerists to so much as conceive of another way will surely be their final undoing.
Oh and I forgot kosher and pickled — you can also ‘choose’ those: eggs; you; yours kids – it’s all the same on the sinking ship known as SS Homogeny.
Honestly, I’m to the ovaries that whenever Strelkov or Mozgovoi tell us something, directly or indirectly, on the truth of what happens behind the scenes in Novorussia, appear two or three mentioning the illustrious Akhmetov.
What these individuals do not understand on the word, internationally known as “novo”, i.e. “new”. Akhmetov sounds old, or as we say around here, “the same dogs with different collars.” What do you not understand on “NIET oligarchy”?
Why do not you’ll go to get some fresh air out there, grateful vassals?
Does anyone follow Soccer here? What do you make of the Germany v/s Brazil match of 7:1? Why do you think that was?
Just 11 minutes into the match, Germany scored its first goal when Brazilian defender David Luis failed to cover his assigned man, Thomas Muller, after a ‘corner kick’. The pathetic spectacle of Luis, considered one of the world’s best players, arriving at the last moment to try and avert a disaster that had already happened, was stunning for any knowledgeable soccer fan to behold.
In the 23rd minute, Germany scored again as certain Brazilian players seemed to wander about in a trance.
Literally 1 minute later, Germany’s Toni Kroos volleyed home a goal, again, while unmarked by any defender.
Two minutes later, Kroos scored again after the Brazilian Fernandinho carelessly gave up the ball in Brazil’s half of the field.
In the 29th minute, there came another easy goal, the 5th in just 18 minutes.
In its 97 pre-2014 World Cup matches (dating back to 1930), the stingy Brazilian defense had allowed just 89 goals to be scored against them, an average of less than one goal per match!
http://www.tomatobubble.com/id721.html
Where-wolf, that was quite the inspired rant!
A question, is Vineyard of the Saker on the radar of Novorossia’s leadership? are they aware of this site?

re: Igor Strelkov… Thank you Kazzura for your wonderful translation (and helpful explanations thrown in). The point was made that people bring what they can to the battle–artists, translators, donors etc.
This war will be as important to Russian society as the antiwar movement was for the American 1960’s.in an interestingly reverse historical way in that this will be a war that needs to be rallied to and not rallied against–hopefully the lessons will be learned better. Putin said the other day that the Russian leadership was trying to get the Novorussians to agree to lay down their arms and trust the Kiev government but that the NAF felt that they would be murdered if they did so and that he had to respect their position. So there will be people with many agendas supporting the fight in the Novorussia. Has anything changed in history? No. so watch for people who slander without reason and who launch personal attacks and prove to be generally undisciplined/disruptive–those are, for whatever reasons, the agent provocateurs. Ignore them out of the corner of your eye. Again, has anything ever changed in history?

China develops anti-drone laser
English.news.cn 2014-11-02 20:41:56 [More]
BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) — China has successfully tested a homemade laser defense system specially targeting small-scale drones flying at low attitude.
The machine is able to shoot down various small aircraft within a two-kilometer radius and can do so in five seconds after locating its target, said a statement released Sunday by the China Academy of Engineering Physics, one of the system’s co-developers.
Characterized by its speed, precision and low noise, the system is designed to destroy unmanned, small-scale drones flying within an altitude of 500-m and at a speed below 50m/s, it said.
“Intercepting such drones is usually the work of snipers and helicopters, but their success rate is not as high and mistakes with accuracy can result in unwanted damage,” said Yi Jinsong, a manager with China Jiuyuan Hi-Tech Equipment Corp., a group under the academy spearheading the project.
According to Yi, small-scale, unmanned drones are relatively cheap and easy to use, which makes them a likely choice for terrorists. In addition, concerns have been raised over drones engaged in unlicensed mapping activities and the affect this could have on military and civil aerial activities.
The new laser system, which will either be installed or transported in vehicles, is expected to play a key role in ensuring security during major events in urban areas, the statement said, adding that a recent test saw the machine successfully shoot down more than 30 drones — a 100 percent success rate.
The academy revealed that it was developing similar laser security systems with greater power and range.

Coverage of the elections in DPR LPR begins:
Incumbent DPR prime minister winning elections of DPR head – exit polls
Alexander Zakharchenko scored 81.37% of the vote
It is a criminal exercise for those who planned the vote
Attempts to disrupt the elections were neutralized
And duelling; Ukraine laws vs. agreed Minsk Protocol
Porky said to plan “adequate reaction” to the elections
KIEV, November 2. /TASS/. Ukraine’s President Pyotr Poroshenko has threatened to offer an “adequate reaction” to violations of the Ukrainian laws over the elections in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics /DPR and LPR, respectively/.
“The Minsk protocol provides for a possibility of early local elections in certain districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions exclusively on the basis of Ukraine’s laws. That is why the flagrant violation of international agreements threatened the entire peace process. Ukraine will offer an adequate reaction to this challenge,” the website of the Ukrainian head of state quoted Poroshenko as saying on Sunday.
These elections, according to Poroshenko, are “a flagrant violation of the Minsk protocol of September 5.”
Last week, on October 29, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement stressing that the elections in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics were in full compliance with the Minsk agreements.

fifth Russian humanitarian aid for the Donetsk and Luhansk

After this he gets one politically motivated question after another! True there were a few others directly related to the theme. Patient man, and
excellent input from all the speakers on the panel.
Why wasn’t the Saker blog mentioned along with the others?
Please if possible will someone provide a link(s) for sending food, warm clothes, Christmas shoe box’s and more for children and all people of Novorussia and refuges of East Ukraine from UK?

Lovely emotional press-conference of Igor Strelkov. Thanks for posting & translating.
Col. Strelkov is perceptive when he depicts the civil war in Ukraine as a fight between good & evil. He said it was not between left or right, but between hope versus hopeless.
A little 19th century optimism and emotion is a healthy tonic. Delacroix, Locke, Jefferson, do I need a verb?
In this fight, the Russians are on the side of good and the United States/Zionists on the side of Sauron-evil.
My dad, who served with the Belgian and US Armies would have appreciated Col. Strelkov, and President Putin. I recall him warming to Kennedy.
*For the Democratic Republics! from Novorussia and their courageous election – held under the very Storm Trooper assaults and artillery barrages of United States financed and organized Fascists, to the Democratic Republic of Russia, whose citizens highly appreciate their President Putin, to the Republic we shall rebuild within the Belly of the Beast, within our Oligarch occupied United States!
The citizenry must be included-institutionalized-in the daily controlling of their own political, economic, and social lives. Our Minutemen will achieve that goal.
Former President Franklin Roosevelt’s “4 Freedoms” Speech, Religion, freedom from Want, and freedom from Fear, will open the door to a happy future. Great Humans can lead; but no Tyrants need apply!

In a world that doesnt care or whant to know, i decet some bitterness and despair.
I know how it feels, to be alone, where political corectness sufforcates anything sane and true.
Where goverments fake everything incl. history and so on, to present economics.
Where Porn and the latest TV shows is all there is to day, and news is something for specaly itressed people as we are, the rest dont give a f…. and popps inot the news from time to time, and the propaganda is, and I have to admitt it, devatstating for sanity.
The rulers to day, is nothing more than NeoFascistic cleptocrats, fueling a nepotism beyound imagination, where they fight to be able to suck as mutch welth as possible from a sinkng shipp, as the European economy realy is.
I will not place that mutch conserns about Oilprices, this a minore events and issues, the real problem is prinitng money out of thin air, and so on, i dont wana repeat my self.
To stand alone is my life story, and few are We that have taken the brunt of slamming the comon mans perseptions of reality, to make them aware of the facts that WE all are been lied to and resives propaganda all the time.
There is de facto other sides, angles, solutions and so on to everything, also the monetray policys.
But at the moment, its the West that is pushing, dont forgett that.
How to induce the reality and what this fight costs, of misserys and pains, and whats at stake for humanity is vitale.
I cant say anything else, than to be fully agreeing in the narratives we have seen in this video.
And I have also learned the bitter truth, never, Noveorussians, never expect anything, to even dream of anything is dangerous and wil eventually destroy your own goals for freedom.
Your own people is all that you have.
I may sound negativ, I aint, but the cost of our naivite will be horrific and the time it will take to come to a point where humanity have a second chanse, is right now way out into the deep blue.
Right now, it dark.
So dark its sufforcating, its difficould to even think straith, covardnesss, ignorance, stupidity and selfilutions, where people refuces to see, all this is everywhere.
I have no more answers to this than hoping that help comes, people realising this Ukrainian war is the line, where the batle between good and evil is.
This batle is what is been accuulating thure decades and now we are in the end game.
The axis of evil, the ZioNazis and their puppets in the uSSa, is ramping up and war propaganda is been driven further and harder, and thats why I know the great war will come, and some people think WW2 happened opvernight, well it didnt, it started 40 years before the ww1, and ww2 is now comed to its next phasem ww3.
Its all planed a long time ago.
My deepest respect goes to any breathing individual fighting for a just cause, for them selfs or their people, I can only humbly do what litle we can offer, in this war of perseptions and narratives.
May the lord have mercy up on us all.
The time comes to take a stand, days are running out into the sand.

Assuming you’re Italian, the Band Bassotti participated past September in an anti-fascist caravan to Donbass with representatives of Euskal Herria / Donbass committee and other European fascists who joined the caravan ( sadly they could not pass Rostov by paperwork problems and because, if passed , they could not return, but met with representatives of DPR and LPR and gave them humanitarian aid could take there).
If you can contact this group, maybe they can give you a safe contact for help. Regarding the committee Euskal Herria / Donbass I know that are in contact with the authorities and militias there.
For all those who ask for a contact address, know that, as indicated Strelkov in the press conference, the address can not be published here or in press conference like that, sadly, especially considering how they are the things there because of the intriguing shift (Surkov, Akhmetov and his minions).
So far, everything has to be underground, as is well indicated by Strelkov, whoever wants will arrange to find contacts.

R: I read that news yesterday and wondered why the collective western uproar against such ‘heinous acts of cross border interference’ has been neutered/castrated to such an extent that the elaborated eunuchs has become quieter than a lost episode of the Sopranos.
For a man of ambition, image is important. Strelkov would look better in, for example, a dark blue shirt and white tie. The old-fashioned standard attire detracts from his otherwise impressive appearance. I hope he reads this and takes it to heart. Good wishes!

Well, where I wrote “other Europeans fascists” I meant “other European” antifascists, of course.
Sorry, very tired right now.
Demargot If you have not been following closely enough to know who Strelkov is talking about, you need to go back a bit and read more of the backstory. It is indeed Zakharchenko of whom Strelkov speaks. It was Zakharchenko who Strelkov named as having followed “the path of personal enrichment.” It was Zakharchenko who was one of Strelkov’s field commanders who thought him unfit to plan an offensive and was one of the field commanders instrumental in having him deposed.
Nobody’s interview tells me what someone is doing for Donbass. Only their actions do that. How can all you people who live under “democracy” (as laissez faire capitalism is known nowadays) be so susceptible to oratory?
You need to practice deconstructing political speech.
Strelkov is not a fighter, he has no military training or experience. His alleged rank of Colonel, if true, is from the FSB not an armed force. He is called “Shooter” because of his Czarist ideas of discipline, not his prowess on the field of battle.
I am not in a recliner, I am in a wheelchair. I am 75 years old, Canadian, disabled and impoverished, as most of my working life was pro bono, but in my day I was in the front lines of the struggle against racism, injustice and war. Now I am a toothless old lioness but fascism revanchist has galvanized me into trying to gum them to death.
Larchmont As far as I can see, Strelkov has ONLY Mosgovoi. Mosgovoi keeps calling assemblies of the battlefront commanders, and nobody shows up.
It was the disaffection of his commanders that led to his ouster. They had learned to fight, armed themselves, found out their own capabilities and were chafing at being restricted to surveillance and sabotage groups. Zakharchenko’s OPLOT fought under Strelkov (and, incidentally, are never mentioned as the ones who stormed the airport.) Givi and most of his battalion fought in Slavyansk and he has said of Zakharchenko “He is a great man. I will follow him . . . to the end. Anyone (speaking of Strelkov) who attacks him has to go through me.” In that interiew, Givi also said he spoke for Motorola.
All the battalion commanders were bitterly disappointed by the ceasefire. That’s how we want them. They were like terriers after a rat suddenly checked by the leash. It is a big mistake to extrapolate from that. Most warriors also have the brains to know that the war is not only fought on the battlefield and to accept that without Russia they will wind up not in Lviv but in front of a firing squad.
I take Mozgovoy to be Strelkov’s sock puppet; perhaps I’m wrong and he speaks only for himself, but I don’t think so. What Mozgovoi advocates is a military dictatorship. Some people on this board do also but I don’t think they realize it. That is what you are saying when you say one only has a right to speak and be heeded if they’re coming directly from the front.
Check back on Mozgovoi’s speeches. In earlier days he had not learned to guard his tongue and was quite up front that his and his master’s strategy was to avoid casualties so as to have a strong, loyal armed force when it came time to form a government. I assume Mosgovoi was speaking for Strelkov when he insisted the resistance was too weak to go on the offensive, even after they had done so.
This is not “Boy Scouts go to war.” There are disparate elements out there, everything from Czarists to Stalinists, who have been playing the political side of war games all their lives. Keep your eyes wide open. Read it twice.

Cassandra, if it is one thing I don’t understand, it is what happens behind closed doors in Novorossiya. It is as when experts studied every small sign from the Kremlin to get a clue of what was happening in the old USSR.
Strelkov came and went. Bezler moved to Krim. I think it was Borodai who moved to Moscow, am I right? An attempt was made on Gubarevs life. What is going on? A Stalin-like purge? Weapons were taken from the NAF and some local commanders are said to collect provisions from Russia. I don’t understand a thing.
I was going to ask Saker to write a piece on this issue, but I can ask you, too.
You wrote:

Da, tavarich kommandant!
perhaps Zakharchenko profits from war for good reasons or bad, I don’t know, I’m not there. some commanders have complained Zakharchenko controls the sale of cigarettes they all smoke so much of, I guess under extreme tension that little break is important. Others have complained that Zakharchenko controls the distribution of aid and uses favoritism. Some commanders like him, so we don’t know what he was like on the battle field except through hearsay, gleamed from interviews in the past. Perhaps Zakharchenko will make a better diplomat, who knows, people have different talents, here is a link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Hg95XF5RJE
to Strelkov’s interview about undergoing correction of values and views, he seems to realize the position of the major leader. Now Strelkov is doing something else to help Novorossia.
there is no need for infighting among us commenters, we don’t know everything, perhaps Strelkov had a bruised ego when he felt he and his men were abandon in Slavyansk. That was a very difficult time, and painful. Some people get over their petty ego and see the big picture I believe Strelkov is such a man. If we want to help put money where the mouth is, we will find out in due time where to send aid. Personally I rather trust Strelkov with this duty. His comrades in battle think highly of him, see for yourself.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHFWrwqxX1Q
For God’s sake, if you want to help do not knit sweaters! Send money. Send it to some group in Russia. They can make it go three times as far as you can (especially with the exchange rate) and will know how to deliver it.
I read that the Communist Party has been the largest donor to Donbass. (Although this is not a left movement, the left has embraced it around the world.) There are others who started in front rooms and have grown huge. Google.
Cassandra
Well, I find Strelkov very handsome in this press conference.
There is a Zakharchenko-Akhmetov link; Zakh used to work for an Akhmetov enterprise. His Oplot group also got some funding there in the early days, when Akhmetov was quite openly backing ..not exactly separatism but opposition to the ousting of Yanukovych. Until other oligarchs put pressure on him. As he owned most industries in Donbass, some of the deliberately targetted destruction of these may partly be a personal revenge against Akhmetov, especially by troops loyal to other oligarchs, eg the Right Sector openly funded by Kolomoisky. Akhmetov has said nothing publicly for months, but his charitable foundation has provided various assistance in Novorossiya.
Some of the Strelkov camp anti-oligarch rhetoric I believe is personally aimed at Akhmetov, and by extension to anyone associated with him.
Hints of personal enrichment may be aimed at Zakh, maybe not… numerous charity collections have sprung up, and several of them have claimed to be the “only real ones who don’t keep the money to themselves” This may mean some do keep the money, or that others are using that just as an advertising gimmick to get more business for their own. This same theme exists even in America, where rival charities (for any cause) keep accusing the others of using most donations for admin and high staff salaries etc etc. The same theme also comes up in charities collecting for UKIE troop support. So it is a world wide theme, no need to try guessing “who”.
Givi knows the mobile phone number of the ENEMY commander. So you can’t tell me Strelkov, Mosgovoi etc etc don’t know the numbers of other commanders on their won side. They would be ringing them, if they really wanted meetings and agreements, eg to take military command of the State etc.
So why all this public calling of, attending of, not attending of, rival ideology meetings? what is that all about?
a) it gauges public feeling
b) causes some hitherto unknowns to declare themselves
c) it defuses any secret attempts, which may be a danger to State cohesion.
They are not all in agreement on ideology. That is fine. While they keep discussing it in public, they’re all safe, as it means they have the freedom to discuss it. That freedom is one of the things they are fighting for.
Listen to your babushka, sweethearts
I have been . . . how to say? . . . “privy” to the development of many revolutionary movements from east Europe to west Latin America to southeast Asia. They have a shape.
Oppression casts a wide net and the resistance to oppression involves many disparate elements, but none more than the one in the Donbass, arising as it did in a country with dozens of political parties. In the beginning, the insurgents are united by a common enemy.
At some point, this must evolve into being united behind a common leadership. Separate identities may be maintained, but a common loyalty must emerge.
In the Donbass, the time is now and the leader is Zakharchenko.
I personally think it’s a good choice. The man is a warrior but not a war lover, is closely in touch with his people, and has all the qualities of a nation builder.
But that is not really the point.
Even if I preferred someone else, it would be time to give it up. It is simply a fact on the ground: Zakharchenko IS the leader, and if we hope for a good outcome, it is time to rally to him.
Cassandra
That’s a good video, Demargot at 01:01, I hadn’t seen it.
Cassandra, I appreciate everything you’re saying. I saw the video where Givi says he and Motorola support Zakharchenko, and I took that to the bank the same as you.
But I also have never seen anything to contradict the concept that Strelkov is a straight shooter, an incorruptible soldier ready to give his life for Greater Russia.
Also it seems undeniable that Strelkov created the modern NAF from 100 men and some guns. That counts for a lot. To many soldiers I suspect that counts for everything. That seems to have saved Donbas from an unimaginable horror.
Saker has made it a forbidden topic here to talk about Gleb Bazov and slavyangrad, org. El Murid (who along with Cassad was praised in this Strelkov video) has been called a bad influence here in these threads, a 5th columnist that Strelkov remains loyal to.
So I don’t know. It’s obvious that there has been a huge rift between two sides of a disagreement, but it’s the one topic Saker declines to address.
Or at least, Saker declined to address it in the past. Maybe times have changed. Maybe it’s important that we begin to understand the fault lines along which the tectonic plates of Novorossia shift. I don’t think anyone in this comment thread really understands how the divisions in Novorossia are mapped. I would love to see a map of those divisions.
What about it, Saker old friend? I ask with great respect to you. Can you speak about this?
This is the sort of scandalous EU help Ukrainians may be offered. Eulex is in Kosovo to fight corruption and teach the Albanians to respect the law. The EU will be happy to teach the Ukrainians, too. Beware, Novorossiya.

Computer translated from Swedish:
A delegation of the EUROPEAN union to curb corruption in Kosovo accused for having turned a blind eye to organised crime, taking bribes and tried to put a muzzle on the press.
The scandal that now flared up began, with the internal Eulex document in the last week landed in Kosovo’s biggest daily newspaper Koha Ditore. These raised the suspicions of collusion between the well-known criminal and Eulex staff. […] there was also a letter from the british prosecutor Maria Bamieh, in which she accuses several colleagues in the Eulex to have taken bribes from criminals.
Bamieh accusing including Eulex chief prosecutor and a judge during the years 2012-2013 taken bribes of hundreds of thousands of euros to put down the prosecution, including a murder case. Brittiskan also says that a high Eulex official, tried to obstruct an ongoing internal inquiry into allegations of irregularities.
The newspaper Koha Ditore said at the same time that the Eulex threatened their reporter with the prosecution and to ”make life difficult” for him if he published the contents of the leaked documents.
The only one who has been suspended from Eulex is visselblåsaren (whistleblower) Maria Bamieh.
Two years ago, criticized the EU parliament’s foreign affairs committee of the fact that Eulex after five years in the country had not yet investigated or prosecuted a single of the major, well-known leaders of organized crime.
Wow! What a revelation! Thanks Strelkov. thanks translators.

This is not a Zakh issue, although he’s the one going to be mentioned now that he’s the PM.
Voentorg, sometimes referred to in the troop context as “humanitarian aid” has always operated this way. There are numerous patrons inside Russia (individuals or organisations) who are funding the voentorg — it is not official Russian government money. Units whose actions were approved of always got help faster and in better quantity. This would have been a factor in who did or did not get expected/hoped for help in Slavyansk. Even the entire first official Russian official aid convoy did not go to Donetsk at all.
When Mozgovoi and Bezler and someone else complained the could “fix the airport problem” if only they had the equipment.. it was not a complaint about Russian voentorg being closed. It was a complaint about Zakharchenko having forced them to give up their tanks and most of the Grads. For specific approved actions they got them back. This is what gets these guys talking there should be military, not political, command.
I don’t know if Zach controls the cigarettes or not. If he does, it is a great move – use a desirable but not essential item to get commanders onside and co-operating. It’s an adult version of “you get a lolly if you behave”. Some may see that as favouritism. Maybe they don’t know what settling of what disagreement was celebrated by the provision of these valuables.
thanx Kat Kan !.. thumbs up
I always appreciate your insights,
Hopefully differences will be set aside for later and they will unite and purge.

also appreciate you’s who add great links and spread interesting info.
Thanks very much for this video, Saker, and to the translator as well. And thank you to all participants in this discussion – we who are on the outside of these matters very much need schooling, having witnessed the gripping videos of early onslaught upon peaceful towns and the manner in which the defenders risked and gave their lives, all very much up to the military at that point.
Forgive me, but I kept thinking of Valley Forge during the American Revolution, those men there knowing that if they failed (and their relationship to the political entity they had to deal with was tenuous to say the least) they would be hung as traitors by the British. It had to be a singular accomplishment for George Washington to enter those political ranks, the people’s gratitude empowering him.
So I as well found it jarring that Strelkov made the disparaging comments Cassandra pointed out, both about the aid being stolen, and that an election shouldn’t be held. I remember that Putin didn’t want to have a referendum in the early days, perhaps because there weren’t local political structures in place. But now it might be possible for a relationship to develop, if not something as preferable as happened in Crimea, something moving towards that.
I am glad the people came out to vote; bravo to them.
Anon said “..A delegation of the EUROPEAN union to curb corruption in Kosovo accused for having turned a blind eye to organised crime, taking bribes and tried to put a muzzle on the press…”
Often inquiries are started with the main purpose of shutting people up and allowing the corruption to continue. Sometimes a change of power gets the previous ones investigated, but not their own, of course. The inquiry needs to walk a tight rope because usually the same gangs are involved.
Influence in other countries can o directly (gang to gang) or step-wise (gang to own politician, that to selecting inquiry members in other country, inquiry protecting gang).
The whole EU is one big corruption racket anyway, so …..
As expected, Zakharchenko and Plotnisky got re-eleted. Their opponents didn’t campaign much. They were there to offer a choice, ie people could vote for them in protest if they didn’t like the front-runners. This is a fair thing, and much better than just not turning up. Absence can be caused by a lot of factors. Turning up and voting against incumbents has real meaning.
The obvious main point was to create elected leaders who thus have full legitimacy to negotiate on behalf of all the people.
Kiev and all the Western countries crying that this breaks the Minsk ceasefire convention….. does it really? really? and you are not concerned about the bit where Ukrainian forces did NOT move back the 15 miles the agreement said? in fact kept moving closer?
Really? an election breaks the agreement? white phosphorous shelling of civilian areas does not?

A Ukrainian lawmaker, who is also the leader of a volunteer battalion, says brigades like his are ready to “intrude” into Russia to carry out attacks on Russian territory.
Yuri Bereza, the leader of the Dnepr-1 battalion, made the remarks during a televised interview with a Ukrainian broadcaster.
“Today, we are ready not just to defend [Ukraine], but to invade the Russian Federation, break into it with reconnaissance detachments and sabotage groups,” said Bereza.
The Ukrainian MP also spoke about conducting bomb attacks inside Russia before he was cut off by the host of the program.
Bereza’s volunteer battalion is one of the dozens of brigades set up this year by pro-EU protesters and members of right-wing party Right Sector following the ouster of President Viktor Yanukovych.
The battalions have been fighting along with Kiev’s government forces against the pro-Russia forces in the country’s restive eastern regions and have been accused of using fierce tactics.

yes, I will knit sweaters, of unparalleled beauty and from the finest wool, and socks, mittens and muffs and more, and they are to die for, and furthermore, will go to the refugees and and good people of Novorussia and the East.
And if I cannot find a link on the Saker’s blog, then I will search until I find one elsewhere, and if still unsuccessful then I will deliver them myself by hand. (I told you already, they are to die for)
