I think that this well made video is a “must watch” at a time when the Ukie junta in Kiev is clearly absolutely desperate to draw Russia into a war: ( please click on ‘cc’ on the bottom right of the video to see the English subtitles)
If Youtube censors the video under the usual pretext, the you can also see it here.
Now let’s see if those who accuse Putin of “betrayal” or “selling out” can bring out a fact-based and logical argument to counter the points made in this video :-)

PS: a special “thank you!” to ‘A’ from Poland who sent me the video, and to the wonderful team of translators who translated, subtitled and posted this video in a record time (less than one day!). You guys rock and I am immensely grateful to you all!! The Saker
Hi Saker, the embedded YouTube videos do not display fully on iPads leaving out the far right side of the screen. This makes following subtitles difficult.
Also offscreen is the YouTube link so it can’t be accessed directly on YouTube. Would you be able to provide the YouTube link below any embedded videos? Thanks as always. james
Oops, I see you have posted the YouTube link this time! Red faced :)
Excellent political ad. Clarity of thought is without counter argument.
It’s strategy not emotion that wins this deadly game.
Thanks to all who produced this video and gave us English captions.
What some don’t understand is the stakes of the game. This dilemma was set up by the failure of Yeltsin. Magnified by irresolute and selfish men of wealth and ego. Only Putin understood the challenge Russia would face, and now he is dealing with it masterfully.
Excellent video. It hits all the right points and very succinctly. Congratulations and thanks to all involved.
Russia must be extending a lot of resources to evacuate and care for all the refugees. No one seems to be giving credit to Russia for that. And no one is crediting Putin for living up to his word to protect Russians abroad by doing so.
I don’t know who made it, but I do know it’s an incredibly professional video in which I detect various FX elements only well trained wizards can handle [layered shots, Videocopilot’s 3D elements, etc.
I’m also happy it confirms what I have been thinking [well, mostly…]
A big ‘Thank you’ all of you who brought us this clip with its [smooth] translation. Great job.
It looks like a most excellent precis but where is the English version? Am I still that dumb or something?
A special ThankYou for the info.
Ukraine says Russian army officers fighting alongside rebels.
So? OJ also said he was innocent.
In a court of law that claims to do just to anyone, I’d like to see some irrefutable evidence, before we unleash another set of moral boosting, firing squads.

That was superb!!! Very professionally done, not just the cinematography but the points that were made and the way they chose to make them. I hope whoever is responsible will do a whole lot more of this kind of work!
Saker there’s a fantastic video at Gleb’s site that I know you will want to post here. An interview with an Afghan Muslim fighting with the resistance. He sees the world struggle very clearly. He sees himself and his fellow fighters as part of one big family (such as the USSR was, in fact).
What’s happening to the Slavs (the friendliest people, he calls them) now is what happened to his country already. This is where it has to be stopped, he says.
An Afghan Freedom Fighter in Donbass: a Poem of Love and Courage, July 13, 2014
It’s incredibly uplifting. Bazov calls him his brother, and so do I, and so will you I’m sure. Nora, you will be totally in tears by the end of it :)
That is an excellent video with an important message.
This is another group of people the Kremlin should be throwing money at to support their creative efforts.

Gawd! I’m not allowed to type dirty any more. Still the scripting is beautiful.

I hope someone somewhere is keeping a record of all these horrors and the rats in Kiev are held accountable.
As an interested observer, I’m starting to believe that the tactical and strategic thinking of the western militarly/intelligence/state structures is profoundly bifurcated. At root level, the Ukraine conflict is a direct attack on Russia, but at all lower levels, that is not understood – in other words, in the executive, corporate legislative and media structures, this video would be perceived as ‘propaganda’, and somehow, the EU/NATO advance is not actually a threat to Russia, and history doesn’t exist, including the history of multiple wars over centuries, Ukrainian nationalism, etc.
I even believe that these people actually believe that Ukraine will somehow become a peaceful, unified state, if only everybody gets out of the way and lets Poroshenko and his frankly mentally defective countrymen slaughter enough dissidents. But then reduced mental capacity is something that the US and UA share.
I think there is a crisis in the quality of western leadership, a toxic mix of stupidity, arrogance and habitual adherence to outmoded concepts like ‘exceptionalism’ and ‘democracy’. It’s a dangerous situation when Angela Merkel may be the only obstacle standing between peace and total war.
Putin is the De Gaulle of his age, but he is acting in a vacuum in the west.
The wonderful, human Afghan fighter’s video has my kind of subtitles!
Thank you, Anonymous/SanctuaryOne; thanks Gleb/Grieved.
I have suspected as much for some little time. Humanity is winning this phase.
If they are so desperate to lure Russia in, why don’t they bomb the Crimea or the Russian side or the border more? Legally, the Crimea is the same as the Donbass.
It is a good video, though. However, the fact remains that the loss of the Donbass would mean an incredible disaster for Russia. So the issue is how to help.
Video makes some good points.
No need for a grand dollar-currency story though. I think the motivations of the US might far simpler though — our government just wanted to start a fight between Ukraine and Russia, which is a goal that is now accomplished, and simply ignored the possible side effects.
Our current foreign policy people are second generation NeoConservatives who Obama didn’t bother to change out. They don’t care much about “consequences”, and have a habit of ignoring the obvious, as painfully illustrated in Iraq.
Found this. Not exactly in line with the thread but it’s illustrative about why the armed rebellion in the east is ultimately doomed to failure. The odds of success are not particularly great.
Anyways, the hypocrisy is so thick it can be cut in half with a butter knife:
http://pennyforyourthoughts2.blogspot.ca/2014/07/hypocrisy-alert-kiev-neonazis-target.html
Absolutely disgusting piece of professionally made propaganda film, worth TchK times.
What if the US is bluffing?
That’s why it’s propaganda – something based on well prepared agenda, here pro-Putin, pro-oligarchs and pro-liberal Kremlin’s party, dear geniuses, pecking on over everything the Saker recommends.
The whole film, every scene, is based on emotions, professionally made, so you do not have to think, only absorb, sponge, imbibe “the Truth”.
Just to play devil’s advocate, one rebuttal to the video is this:
The friendship between the US and Russia has been pretty much cancelled by recent US rhetoric.
In the worst case, Russia could expect that the US will attempt to implement all the “consequences”, regardless of whether it intervenes militarily in Ukraine.
In the better case, not intervening would avoid the “consequences”, but the current Ukraine episode could be replayed in every other state allied with Russia, with the threat of the same consequences never there.
Brings up some frightening poker analogies.
LOL. If Saker think this Video give valid reason not to intervene, you are badly mistake.
It parrot on same line of play into west’s hand, US need a war, and etc.
Putin play into west hands by not intervene effective early when UKR army was weak. That intervention could be covert support, and effective one. Not the wish wash kind. Yes, if you go into Kiev, you will have to own it, but you do not have to go there.
What if West shot down a few RF plane after you established no fly zone? shot down a few more of planes from the West. You do not save live of your country man by playing chicken.
US and EU are not stupid, they will not go to war with Russian for Ukraine, or any one else. They counted their luck starts when Milosevic blinked. Us economy does not need a war. Obama will be impeached if he go to war with Russia, or any one else right now. Look at the storm he generate when he want to strike Syria. I tracked Senators FB site then, almost exclusive against war, and threat of unseat who ever support the war. Sure Russia has different past, there are some very good reasons not go in overtly, but the war need to be win at any cost, or you will be walked over at will, and a lot more live will be lost because of it.
The analysis is flawed. RF is playing into West hands beautifully. There is pretty much no need for it now. But a lot of lives and cities could have saved if it had intervene decisively early.
I was hiking with a friend, and talking about politics. She turn around ask me if West strike North Korea, China will strike back, isn’t it. I laughed, and said, of cause. After 61 years, American remembers their lesson very well, and Korean war bought peace to Chinese borders for 61 years and counting. That is a lot longer than 20 years Russia like to have. 64 years ago when the war started, China was a lot more fragile than current Russia. Now When China say some thing, no one will take it as bluffing.
Excellent video! This is exactly what what must be made clear to all. Russia only needs to wait, and the US (and its puppets) will implode along with their worthless currency, and the global bankers’ entire thieving fiat scam.
However… in the mean time the Kiev junta is committing severe atrocities, and destroying whole towns. It is unbearable to stand idle. What is to be done?
If there was such a thing as international justice, then documenting the crimes and immediately initiating war crimes cases would obviously be required and workable. But there is no functioning legal system in the world, just as there is no longer Rule of Law in America. Nevertheless the path of Law should be attempted anyway for moral correctness, even if expecting it to fail.
Of course the objective is to win, and end such crimes even lacking an effective legal remedy. In these times, action is the only language that works. Russia must act. But how?
Something you may not be aware of: during the last stage of the Georgian conflict, the US was about to detonate a nuke in a Georgian-side city that was next in line to fall to the Russian advance, and claim the Russians used a tactical nuclear weapon. Only last minute actions prevented that horror. You may remember there was a point in that war when everything stopped very suddenly, for no apparent reason. That was why.
These are the kind of people we are dealing with, in the US government and their puppets. They are all insane, wanna-be mass murderers. Also, the rulers know that in the coming general collapse of the US, they risk being hung from lamp posts by an enraged American people. So effectively they are flailing about in search of self-survival and retention of their power, and will do *anything*.
This is why Russian action CANNOT be as the Zio-US-fascists desire. Russia must NOT use military force in Ukraine. It would be like entering under the cartoon box propped up with a stick. All major armored groups do and must carry tactical nukes for self defense. Sending heavy armor into Ukraine would give the US-Ukies a perfect opportunity to shout “Look! Russia used nukes against civilians!” on TV screens worldwide. It would be believed, and end any hope for the world.
In fact I believe the entire US-led process of Maidan uprising manipulation was to this end – a second attempt to pull off the nuclear false flag they failed to achieve in Georgia. I also believe Putin is aware of this. Probably the idiots in Kiev are not.
Well, it is still true the best defense is to attack, but it must be in an unexpected form, on your opponent’s weakest point.
(Continued in part 2. TerraHertz)
Part 2 of 3
And who is the opponent anyway? It is not the American people; they are suffering just as Ukraine and Russia are suffering.
It is precisely the US government, and the Zionists who effectively control the political process in the USA. Even the US military-industrial complex, though quite evil, isn’t as guilty as the few hundred lunatics at the top. If those Satanist bastards were removed from power, and the political structures restored to honesty and moral function, the USA could be redeemable. Same for the global financial system, via a return to sound money.
So the ‘opponent’ is just a few hundred people, perhaps a few thousand worldwide. The Elites.
What is their weakness? How can Russia attack and defeat them, to rid itself of the pain of having to stand helplessly watching Russian comrades in East Ukraine being murdered horribly? Not to mention stopping the murders. They are not going to stop by themselves, especially if it is true Poroshenko is really a Jew (original surname Valtman) who has been assigned the task of murdering as many white Christian Russians as possible. Remind you of anything?
In any new Great War, the results will be unlike anything ever seen before. All existing paradigms of battlefield practice will fail, as new weapons are used in anger for the first time. Wave attacks of supersonic stealth missiles will eliminate naval forces, ending the global naval power projection illusion. Neutron bombs will demonstrate negation of massed armor effectiveness. And so on. But more to the point, civilization and possibly life on Earth will end, as multitudes of civilian nuclear installations are damaged and lose containment. Hundreds of Chernobyls and Fukushimas worldwide, and inevitable total biosphere collapse into million-year radioactive hell.
This must not happen. We may kill each other if we are stupid enough to want that, but to kill the planet is unforgivable, at a species level. If we do this, it would be better if Homo Sapiens had never existed.
Thankfully, there are also ‘new weapons’ today that can be used to prevent war. Even to finally eliminate the underlying causes of war. As yet, the best of these new weapons has never yet been used ‘in anger.’
It is very simple. The weakness of the Elites is that their crimes are unknown and invisible to the majority of people of the world. Some few of us know, but the vast majority do not. More importantly, there are no publicly available charge sheets, presented by an authoritative source, solidly documenting the precise crimes and evidence. Material more than sufficient for a court, and certainly good enough to inspire armed uprisings and mob-justice if the courts still failed in their duty. (As they would in the USA.) To quote George H.W. Bush: “Sarah, if the American people ever find out what we have done, they will chase us down the streets and lynch us.”
Yes, they would.
(continued in part 3. TerraHertz)
Part 3 of 3
My recommendation to Russia: Use the Internet in anger, constructively, as it was always intended to serve. Strike with Truth! Immediately present online, and to any potentially functioning international criminal investigation system, with Russian government official backing, everything from Russian Intelligence files that demonstrates the crimes of the US-Zio Elites. Names, dates, recordings, documents, everything. For example matters such as:
* 911 and all the other false flags in the last decades. (Personal note: Please include the Bali bombing, committed by the US with a micro-nuke in a drain, to ensure that Australia supported US aggression in the Middle East.)
* The disappearance of MH370. (Do not pretend Russia wasn’t given an opportunity to bid on the offer of the stolen US drone mobile command unit that China bought, and the Malaysian government tried to ship to China on a commercial airliner, thus making MH370 a legitimate military target. Which is why Malaysia cannot admit what happened, or contradict the US/Inmarsat bullshit, since to admit the truth would also admit total culpability.)
* US and Israel intelligence services involvement in global drug production and trafficking.
* Bribery, pedophilia, murders, vote rigging, and so on by US and British politicians.
* The planned global population cull and related matters such as Agenda 21 and the weaponisation of vaccines, with components designed to cause delayed cancers, sterility, immune system breakdown, and targeted damage to specific areas of the brain.
* The Rothschild’s ownership and control network of the global banking system, and that system’s intentional use to destroy the economies of many countries worldwide.
* The US and Israel’s repeated use of small nuclear weapons, dirty bombs and depleted Uranium munitions, during every conflict they were involved in over the last decades. Remember Baghdad airport!
* The precise ownership and control of the Western mass media, and endless instances of outright lying to manipulate public opinion.
* The structures of Internet astro-turfing and shill-armies. Names and addresses, IP numbers, payslips, command groups, etc.
Russia claims to be a Christian nation. Then listen to the Christian command: “Speak Truth to evil. Evil will fall to its knees before the Truth.”
On a more pragmatic level, I have long wondered why Russia has not done this earlier. Perhaps the time was not right – it was decided that the people of America were not yet ready to rise? Well either they are now, or they will never be.
Or perhaps the consideration was that to reveal such intelligence would compromise too much of the Russian Intelligence apparatus, putting lives at risk?
In perspective though, Intelligence is gathered for a reason, and that is to gain advantage in the struggle. Also all action carries risk. There comes a time when you must use what you have, for if you do not, the resulting evil will outweigh any possible losses from acting.
This is that time. Unless Russia (Putin) has a better idea, it is time to strike the unexpected killing blow. Make them eat the sword of Truth.
End the murderous insane Elites. Now. Before they manage to start the global nuclear war that they see as their only survival option, but which will likely end all life on Earth.
The situation in Ukraine as set up by the US-Zio-Elites, has no winning move. Do not play that game. Instead, destroy those who created this ghastly situation. If you do not do so now, they will continue over and over to create such situations, until we are all enslaved or dead.

PS. Thank you, Vineyard of the Saker, for your great coverage and analysis.
Any idea who has made the video? Any evidence it has been ordered by the government or made by an organization related to the Russian govt?
This is quite important to understand its intended effects. One has to weight production of such excellent piece of propaganda against the non-diminishing intensity of coverage of the war, atrocities, and plight of civilian population in Donbass on Russian TV. The Russian population is brought to simmering anger and almost everyone does not understand why the govt does not something. So if this video is some privately made piece – it is a drop in a bucket against effect produced by Russian news coverage. Any idea how the two can be reconciled? – A
After looking at this video, thinking about it over dinner, and looking at it again, I wondered why it was so easy for me to follow it with my very crappy Russian — I often must watch Russian TV clips several times to get even 80%.
I am starting to think the video may have originated in the English-speaking world. Besides the easy language, there are a couple of westernism’s: depiction of the no fly zone, the “whole world united against the aggressor” bit, which nobody outside the US really believes. And, the distracting focus on the dollar-currency crisis. (I mentioned this in another comment).
While the dollar thing is pretty much true, it isn’t an immediate crisis for the US, since all the competing economic regions have problems of their own. And anyway, US foreign policy uses much simpler and older set of principles (NeoCon idiocy notwithstanding). The Kissinger / Brzezinski strategic view is all you really need to explain US behavior in international relations. That stuff is not a secret at all.
Any opinions on this?
@Anonymous
good point about China. Although now that they are the dominant industrial power on Earth, they have relatively little to fear.
They replicated US and Russian space program, and will probably replicate all existing US and Russian weaponry within this generation. If push comes to shove, they don’t even have to wait that long — imagine if China decided to mass produce MANPADs and ATGMs like they rolled out a new model of smart phone/tablet every few months, right into production volumes of millions. Not a pretty picture. Anyway, off-topic sorry.

According to the plan, the Bank BRICS will start in 2016. It will facilitate mutual payments and credit services between the countries – members of Association, in addition, reduce dependence on the dollar and the Euro.

вот так
I think the video was talking directly to you Saker: “Geopolitics has no room for emotions” (I should add: “only room for cold numbers”… “and letting thousands die to save millions”- as that great American Psychopath Robert Mcnamara once put it). I’m glad you’re finally coming around to that conclusion, it’s been quite a journey for you between your heart and your head. Well the heart and head should be on the same page if you consider the below.
It’s not only stupid to destroy the lives of millions in order to save thousands but it’s unethical, a dereliction of a leaders duty and a SIN.
Also I loved the statement in the video that calls on armchair strategists to get off their backsides and go participate themselves in the conflict if they feel so strongly that Russia should directly intervene I think that’s very appropriate.
Glad to see somebody out there (the maker of the video) that thinks with his head and thinks strategically instead of tactically. No direct intervention makes sense at this moment.
That said, Russia has cannot hide behind the reasoning in the video to avoid providing substantial covert aid to the Donbass patriots. As well, Russia needs to decisively gather hard evidence on the War-Criminals as well as launch a massive and decisive media campaign in the languages of NATO citizenry to make it clear who the aggressor is and the atrocities committed. Because strategically and ethically speaking to not provide such aid and accountability would be the height of stupidity. Not doing so will only invite murder and provocation into ‘official’ Russian territory and invite further EU/NATO instigation in other Russian satellite states.

Yeah, you bet! The imminent collapse of the $US is of immediate and existential threat to the power elite of the US, UK and israel; the bankers. They are fighting for their power which to them means their lives.
This is what the war is being fought over. The bankers are trying to divide the world into two camps with the ‘western’ camp committed to using the $US. It is a far cry from what they wanted which was the whole world using their dollar but it is better than no one using it. Which is what they are looking at and are terrified by.
No one else in the ‘west’ is fighting for their lives except for the bankers and they are driving everyone before them to fight their battles for them.
The message of the video is absolutely spot on.
USA and her vassals make up over one billion people versus 145 million in Russia.
The economy of great Hegemon together with its vassals is about 30 trillion and Russian only 2 trillion.

Excellent post and way of thinking from TerraHerz.
Thousands of books, papers, articles from the real history of the last 200 years are being revealed. They are putting the entire humanity in a completely different light and perspective: just to mention that communism was in fact an experiment planned by the khazarian mafia banking. The true name should be COMMUNISM INCORPORATED because it was also a business on global scale (read the book of Anthony Sutton to understand more how the profits from Soviet Union were channeled to the handlers behind the shadows).
Why is Russia not revealing this information officially ??? How much more they want to wait, until people will start to suspect their leaders from being back in bed with the banking mafia ???
I advise everyone to search for general Konstantin Petrov on youtube (ex commandant of the Baikonur space launch). He has some amazing speeches there that synthesize what I learned in years and years of research.
You can also read the hundreds of articles written by Orthodox priest Nathanael Kapner on his website. He lives in Colorado and speaks the Truth, the only effective way to fight against the Evil !!!
And there are many, many more (Jeff Rense website is another good one).
Yet, Russia is NOT USING the POWER of TRUTH. WHYYYY ????
Until they do that I am not going to trust them 100%, no matter what.
They MUST REVEAL the KHAZARIAN CONSPIRACY that has destroyed the world !!!
This video is ridiculous.
If the US wants to demonize you, they will find a way, even if it is 100% made up of lies. The western media doesn’t care about the truth at all.
You want to worry about Ukies falsely blaming Russia for their economic problems instead of Novorussians blaming Russia for letting them be oppressed/murdered? Insane!
I´m againt Russian army going to Ukraine, BUT:
Isn´t this the same kind of rhetorik Ukraine was using by Russian overtake of Crimes? “It´s all part of their master plan and we have to resist their provocations.” Do anybody here think that Russia was trying to go to war with Ukraine by overtaking Crimea? No, they wanted just wanted Crimea – end of it, nothing complicated.
Good video, but not accurate to what is really going on. It implies NATO would actually challenge Russia in Ukraine right on it’s border with a no-fly zone… there is no stomach for that for NATO, and they could not enforce it without taking guaranteed heavy losses, not even with stealth.
Another central problem is it’s conspiratorial nature. There is not some magic “reset” of an economy through war. That is nonsensical.
It also suggests Belarus of turning against Russia. Belorussians are more pro Russia than most Russians.
Russia shares a lot of the blame, because it chose radical market reforms and ate much of what the west dangled during the Yeltin period. This is why economic integration can be an Achilles’ heel. F-35 for example, That technology was sold by corrupt members of OKB Yakelov design Bureau, and that is just one example of corruptions that handicapped Russia. If Russia wants to be strong, it better start look to the things that made in strong. Law, A strong state, and self reliance in technology and productivity.
Many good points but goes perhaps a bit too far.
Absolutely right about wanting to blame Russia for this whole mess and desperate to pass the buck for paying for Ukraine.
I do not agree that NATO plans war with Russia as that would be too dangerous. Instead the people who are driving this are those with real financial interests in the US MIC are desperate to recast Russia as the bogeyman to stop ongoing military cuts and reverse previous ones.
They would then pull out all the sanctions stops to suffocate the Russian economy, mainly by blocking Russian energy sales to Europe, so that the US can sell its own vastly more expensive supply.
This leads me to one very important point. Many here portray their arguments as Russia vs nearly almost everybody else. I think you should revise. Many like me, see the growth in the East and the Eurasion Union as the indispensable political bodies of this century, that will be the drivers of peace and prosperity for everybody on the Eurasian continent. It is only the US that stands to lose from this and so it; and its local puppets, are pulling out all the stops to wreck it and stop it from happening.
You may also take comfort that the events now taking shape in the Far East with the PRC is reshaping the whole global economic dynamic and that a fiscal tsunami is now building and will head west. It will hit the borders of the EU in about ten years time and Atlantic-ism will be smashed and washed away.
US knows this so prepare for an ever tougher decade and more global scorched earth as it clings and retreats in equal measure.
and thank you @ TerraHertz 15 July, 2014 03:20
Honestly Saker,
I think this video is very bad propaganda aimed at the weak-minded or ignorant and unworthy of any real analysis of its “arguments”.. Sufficient to say that the notion that in case of the imposition of a no-fy zone over southeastern Ukraine by Russia, the West would respond by imposing its own and intercepting Russian aircraft is ludicrous..Or the idea that a nuclear confrontation is the ultimate plan to combat the mounting US debt..This video is pure fear mongering of the worst kind..
With regard.John Andris
Re Anonymous 15 July, 2014 02:23
It doesn’t greatly matter if the US – effectively its power elite and their associates – is bluffing, increasingly the rest of the world is not.
You posit that the “US” is homogenous when it is becoming increasingly fractured, and consequently it is wiser to use a notion of opponents to exacerbate the fracturing and to optimise strategic opportunities.
The key has always been whether a drowning man serves the purpose or if not, how to drown a drowning man with the minimum of blowback.
The drowning man was never conceived as a total population living in a defined geographical space – even by the opponents.
This is the strategy advocated by Chen eng Fu head of the Chinese academy of Marxism for the last few years. He only represents one trend in the COX there are other more US sympathetic trends.
Please thank the translation people, great job.
New York Times Says “Lack Of Major Wars May Be Hurting Economic Growth”
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-06-14/new-york-times-says-lack-major-wars-may-be-hurting-economic-growth
It worked twice for the US empire in the last century.
John A, you don’t have to agree with everything in the video.
Look at it this way, in a few short seconds several messages have to be conveyed. This video is akin to showing somebody a series of doors and telling him that there is stuff behind each one.
It is the viewers’responsibility to open the doors. The thing is that right now, most people who see this video will not even have known these doors existed.
How do I know this?
I first saw this video a few days ago. A young friend of mine shared it on his Facebook page. He made direct comment about the ideas and their novelty.
He is an intelligent, well educated Russian man. His eyes were opened. He will open the doors, but he now has an idea of why direct Russian intervention in Ukraine is not a good idea and about the underlying issues that have led to the situation that Ukraine is now in.
I am sure that we will see more videos, articles and interviews, appealing to different demographics but conveying the underlying message that direct intervention in Ukraine is not sensible for Russia right now and that preparation for the real war starts here and now.
For those who see the US as a huge monolith, the size of whose economy means that they are unassailable should know this: the issues being discussed now are not new. We are in a process. I first wrote about the decline of the USA and the economic causes a decade ago. I was not the first. The issues remain unchanged but they are coming more sharply into focus.a
There will be a tipping point, a seemingly insignificant event, that changes the paradigm of today’s economic structure. That event may already have occurred. What is clear is that the US is upping its activity rate quite significantly – they think something is happening and seek to ameliorate its effects.
p1. The reference to Australia in the video is significant. The following information relates to developments in Australian strategic policy.
Report: ‘Deal likely to bring more US military assets to Australia’, Stripes, June 20, 2014.
[Excerpts] “The U.S. military is expected to significantly increase the number of troops, ships and watercraft rotating through Australia as a result of the beefed-up Force Posture Agreement announced last week. Although details about numbers and initiatives remain largely unspecified, defense analysts from both countries expect an increased presence in Australia for the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marines in the form of bombers, nuclear submarines, missiles and troops.
The agreement assures that the roughly 1,100 U.S. Marines now moving through a base in Darwin on six-month rotations will increase to 2,500 within a couple years — and possibly expand into “something larger,” said Dr. Andrew Davies, director of research at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute in Canberra. “I think this is an important step forward for the alliance,” said Zack Cooper, a defense analyst with the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington…… it’s likely the Air Force will begin using runways in the northern part of the country, possibly for the B-52 strategic bomber and B-2 stealth bomber.
“The U.S. has been interested in using these bases, if not all the time, then at least being able to rotate forces through them,” Cooper said. …. the U.S. Navy would “most likely” have greater access to fleet base facilities in the western port near Perth. U.S. nuclear submarines have occasionally used those facilities…… Brown said that [missile architecture] cooperation is more likely to speed up….” [End]
p2. Australia is an extension (partner) of the U.S./NATO bloc and is openly supportive (politically and operationally) in the successive offensive military operations of this military bloc (as evident by Australia’s foreign military operations/deployments). Australian ‘defence’ policy (and interoperable military capabilities) is also integrated with the U.S./NATO/Israel bloc (U.S., NATO and Israeli advisors/consultants working with the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, the Lowy Institute, etc. in the development of strategic policy. The Lowy Institute was established by Frank Lowy and Martin Indyk, both of whom also established the Israeli Institute for National Strategy and Policy).
Australia’s defence white paper (described by some analysts as a white paper for war), military procurements and the gradual build-up/hosting of U.S. military forces/assets (currently on a rotational basis, including nuclear capable assets on a visitational basis) conducted under claims of ‘defence’, ‘anti-terrorism’, ‘border security’, ‘resource protection’ or ‘humanitarian’ operations, in fact facilitate the enhancement of allied offensive capabilities (with focus on China and also Indonesia), rather than conforming to any stated defensive posture. It is also enhancing its relationship with NATO.
“NATO will be much more active in Australia’s region than in the past. The Alliance will approve a new strategic concept later this year to guide NATO’s objectives, strategy, and force planning, which will clarify the role NATO may play in the Asia Pacific. The new concept will acknowledge that NATO remains, at its core, a transatlantic alliance.” (Australia and NATO: A deeper relationship, Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, ANU, Lowy Interpreter, 11/10/2010).
p3. ‘This means he [Putin] gets Crimea, but the slow strangling of the Bear continues. NATO still wins.’ [Australian ABC News, 03/03/2014]
Australia’s (adversarial) position towards Russia through its official statements/ sanctions/ condemnations and ongoing anti-Russian narratives (propaganda) through its government affiliated media organisations (ABC, SBS) has been well established.
In the event of direct military conflict between opposing military blocs, Australia will almost certainly act as an extension of and will be integrated with U.S./NATO military operations. The planned gradual development of anti-missile capabilities/architecture (naval based aegis systems), the increased hosting of U.S. forces, the development of interoperable military capabilities and visitational hosting of nuclear capable assets indicates the strategic role Australia will play (as an operational platform) in a potential allied military operations. It is respectfully advisable for Russian strategic planning to respond accordingly.
The video doesn’t attempt to be any more than a brief piece of propaganda, but even at that, it looks to me pretty silly and cheap. The text being read is okay and makes some valid points. The delivery is a bit overdramatic. The images and sounds are mostly idiotic.
As somebody has already mentioned, for a video purported to be against emotions, it doesn’t look or sound like a paragon of serenity.
The impression one walks away with is that the authors of the video want to convince you that Russia should just keep on taking whatever the West throws at it and smile. The Italians have a saying: “They’re pissing on your face and you’re supposed to say it’s raining.” In this case, they are doing much more than pissing. They are butchering Russians on Russia’s doorstep.
This stupidly cheap video could be easily ridiculed with the simple technique of intercalating some totally silent scenes from the butchery and destruction. Against those simple silent images, the dishonesty and idiocy of this propaganda piece would stand out immediately, even for the brain dead.
Australia ha great point but there is peak oil! this is where the paranoia of the western angol-zionist whatever, really abides. I bet Putin and his cabinet knows it, plenty of time for Russia and not much for us, who eat the food of our descendants.
In the news right now, disastrous accident in the west line of the Moscow Metro, apparently due to a sudden power failure. Dozens dead and wounded.
Possible sabotage?
Wow,,,,I e mailed this “no emotions in geopolitics” to all my friends who haven’t yet disowned me for what they call “obsessive behavior” over what is happening in the Ukraine. This needs reposting time and time again. Hold firm. The ruling class is desperately trying to resurrect the cold war to keep the industrial-military complex going. The multinational corporations are no longer nation based so they play a double game and intend to morph if necessary and to bail out of the US dollar if necessary.
Excellent video. It shows more or less my own thinking of why Russia do not/will not intervene at least overtly. I think that regardless of what Russia may or may not do the junta will collapse sooner or later. Now to “Croat and Russophile” yes you are right US and its vassals may make up one billion but so far they have been fighting this wars against “superpowers” like Libya, Iraq, Vietnam, Grenada, etc with mixed success, what with they do with a military power that can actually retaliate to their own homes? Would they dare to attack?
I didn’t suppose that this video was going to be so important. I saw it on facebook almost a week ago, it has long been hanging around the Russian net.
Very good graphics, simple slogans, hammering messages, a pure piece of propaganda.
Its contents are mostly ridiculous.
Entering another country without an UN resolution mobilizes the “international community” against the aggressor? Only if he is weak. The Us have been doing so from Serbia to Irak without any consequence.
The Ukris will blame Russia for all their trouble? What are they doing now? In untouched, indipendent Ukraine, russophobia has boomed as in no time in history.
Belorussia and Kazakhstan would disapprove? They would probably be more worried by seeing that not only the friends of Russia but the very Russians are being abandoned to their slaughterers out of fear of “involvement”. What if they come for us, they are probably thinking…
The no fly zone is the worst. Even Obanana said from the beginning that there will be no military involvement. They may be wishing a war, but not fought by themselves.
This said, the real point is being missed.
I have been always advocating on this blog, in terms of military and political discussion, a strong help to Novorossija, the “North Vietnam” way.
A steady and huge flow of men and equipment.
How much this is hidden doesn’t matter, the Western involvement is blatant, and all governments in the world know this well. The Ukri military are a poor rabble, they may be defeated without any need for waving the Russian flag on Ukri soil. But defeated they must be.
So, if the video has been conceived to keep Russian people calm while decisive help is being provided under cover (as it may seem from recent Militia’s exploits), then it is a good idea. Otherwise it’s a bad idea and even an evil action.
Rockerduck
This video is an over simplified, sensationalist, emotionally charged construct of misinformation and disinformation. It is nothing less than propaganda produced by one of the Western intelligence agencies.
I’ve forwarded links of this video to my friends here in the USA for their amusement.
“You don’t fight fascism because you’re going to win. You fight fascism because it is fascist.” ~ Jean-Paul Sartre
The video content is useless! This article (URL is pasted below) instead makes very good points in that same direction. I wish just to know why none of them did apply six years ago in South Ossetia, when Russia was weaker and Putin was not the President but only the Prime Minister, and yet Russia’s response was immediate and devastating with no appreciable answer from the NATO supporters of the aggressor (who was also a lot more legitimate than the Kiev Junta). Can anybody work out this enigma? http://iouco.tumblr.com/post/91353553889/novorossiya-analysis-of-the-propaganda-war-methods#disqus_thread
I believe South Ossetia declared independence in 1991 and has been fighting ever since to be recognized. It is more similar to Crimea that Donbas which was happy to be part of Ukraine until the recent events in Kiev. Ukraine is considerably larger than Georgia with a larger hostile population, different history, and different geopolitics. Just not the same.
In the case of South Ossetia, there was an UN mandated Russian peacekeeping force in place there. Georgia attacked this peacekeeping force and the civilian population with an unprovoked artillery barrage followed by troop invasion. The day before this happened, Saakashvili proposed negotiations. It was a huge betrayal.
Russia brought in more troops to defend the South Ossetians as they were tasked to do under the UN agreement. To effectively defend the people of South Ossetia, the Russian military needed to destroy the Georgian armed forces which they did and then withdrew from Georgia.
South Ossetia situation was entirely different to Crimea and different again to the Donbass situation. Russia ‘s reaction in South Ossetia was entirely legal and entirely defensive in nature. The similarities are that Russia continues to act entirely legally and defensively even though their actions are diffferrent in the different situations in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine.
That’s plausible, James, thank you! In fact, that article anyway points out very good arguments to explain the apparent apathy of the Kremlin. Its logic is sound enough to instill a doubt about the better policy to face the monster created by the US at Russia’s borders. I still stand by my view that it’s utterly useless to negotiate with the devil, with an enemy whose only satisfaction is your destruction, but we must always render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s.
