The pounding, daily western narratives on ‘Ukrainian wins’ and ‘Russian losses’ underpins the lack of an actual, cohesive Grand Strategy against Moscow.

While we are all familiar with Sun Tzu, the Chinese general, military strategist and philosopher who penned the incomparable Art of War, less known is the Strategikon, the Byzantium equivalent on warfare.
Sixth century Byzantium really needed a manual, threatened as it was from the east, successively by Sassanid Persia, Arabs and Turks, and from the north, by waves of steppe invaders, Huns, Avars, Bulgars, semi-nomadic Turkic Pechenegs and Magyars.
Byzantium could not prevail just by following the classic pattern of Roman Empire raw power – they simply didn’t have the means for it.
So military force needed to be subordinate to diplomacy, a less costly means of avoiding or resolving conflict. And here we can make a fascinating connection with today’s Russia, led by President Vladimir Putin and his diplomacy chief Sergei Lavrov.
But when military means became necessary for Byzantium – as in Russia’s Operation Z – it was preferable to use weaponry to contain or punish adversaries, instead of attacking with full force.
Strategic primacy, for Byzantium, more than diplomatic or military, was a psychological affair. The word Strategia itself is derived from the Greek strategos – which does not mean “General” in military terms, as the west believes, but historically corresponds to a managerial politico-military function.
It all starts with si vis pacem para bellum: “If you want peace prepare for war.” Confrontation must develop simultaneously on multiple levels: grand strategy, military strategy, operative, tactical.
But brilliant tactics, excellent operative intel and even massive victories in a larger war theater cannot compensate for a lethal mistake in terms of grand strategy. Just look at the Nazis in WWII.
Those who built up an empire such as the Romans, or maintained one for centuries like the Byzantines, never succeeded without following this logic.
Those clueless Pentagon and CIA ‘experts’
On Operation Z, the Russians revel in total strategic ambiguity, which has the collective west completely discombobulated. The Pentagon does not have the necessary intellectual firepower to out-smart the Russian General Staff. Only a few outliers understand that this is not a war – since the Ukraine Armed Forces have been irretrievably routed – but actually what Russian military and naval expert Andrei Martyanov calls a “combined arms police operation,” a work-in-progress on demilitarization and denazification.
The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is even more abysmal in terms of getting everything wrong, as recently demonstrated by its chief Avril Haines during her questioning on Capitol Hill. History shows that the CIA strategically blew it all the way from Vietnam to Afghanistan and Iraq. Ukraine is no different.
Ukraine was never about a military win. What is being accomplished is the slow, painful destruction of the European Union (EU) economy, coupled with extraordinary weapons profits for the western military-industrial complex and creeping security rule by those nations’ political elites.
The latter, in turn, have been totally baffled by Russia’s C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) capabilities, coupled with the stunning inefficiency of their own constellation of Javelins, NLAWs, Stingers and Turkish Bayraktar drones.
This ignorance reaches way beyond tactics and the operational and strategic realm. As Martyanov delightfully points out, they “wouldn’t know what hit them on the modern battlefield with near-peer, forget about peer.”
The caliber of ‘strategic’ advice from the NATO realm was self-evident in the Serpent Island fiasco – a direct order issued by British ‘consultants’ to Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, thought the whole thing was suicidal. He was proven right.
All the Russians had to do was launch a few choice anti-ship and surface Onyx missiles from bastions stationed in Crimea on airports south of Odessa. In no time, Serpent Island was back under Russian control – even as high-ranking British and American marine officers ‘disappeared’ during the Ukrainian landing on the island. They were the ‘strategic’ NATO actors on the spot, doling out the lousy advice.
Extra evidence that the Ukraine debacle is predominantly about money laundering – not competent military strategy – is Capitol Hill approving a hefty extra $40 billion in ‘aid’ to Kiev. It’s just another western military-industrial complex bonanza, duly noted by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
Russian forces, meanwhile, have brought diplomacy to the battlefield, handing over 10 tons of humanitarian assistance to the people of liberated Kherson – with the deputy head of the military-civil administration of the region, Kirill Stremousov, announcing that Kherson wants to become part of the Russian Federation.
In parallel, Georgy Muradov, deputy prime minister of the government of Crimea, has “no doubts that the liberated territories of the south of the former Ukraine will become another region of Russia. This, as we assess from our communication with the inhabitants of the region, is the will of the people themselves, most of whom lived for eight years under conditions of repression and bullying by the Ukronazis.”
Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, is adamant that the DPR is on the verge of liberating “its territories within constitutional borders,” and then a referendum on joining Russia will take place. When it comes to the Luhansk People’s Republic, the integration process may even come earlier: the only area left to be liberated is the urban region of Lysychansk-Severodonetsk.
The ‘Stalingrad of Donbass’
As much as there’s an energetic debate among the best Russian analysts about the pace of Operation Z, Russian military planning proceeds methodically, as if taking all the time it needs to solidify facts on the ground.
Arguably the best example is the fate of Azov neo-Nazis at Azovstal in Mariupol – the best-equipped unit of the Ukrainians, hands down. In the end they were totally outmatched by anumerically inferior Russian/Chechen Spetsnaz contingent, and in record time for such a big city.
Another example is the advance on Izyum, in the Kharkov region – a key bridgehead in the frontline. The Russian Ministry of Defense follows the pattern of grinding the enemy while slowly advancing; if they face serious resistance, they stop and smash the Ukrainian defensive lines with non-stop missile and artillery strikes.
Popasnaya in Luhansk, dubbed by many Russian analysts as “Mariupol on steroids”, or “the Stalingrad of Donbass,” is now under total control of the Luhansk People’s Republic, after they managed to breach a de facto fortress with linked underground trenches between most civilian houses. Popasnaya is extremely important strategically, as its capture breaks the first, most powerful line of defense of the Ukrainians in Donbass.
That will probably lead to the next stage, with an offensive on Bakhmut along the H-32 highway. The frontline will be aligned, north to south. Bakhmut will be the key to taking control of the M-03 highway, the main route to Slavyansk from the south.
This is just an illustration of the Russian General Staff applying its trademark, methodical, painstaking strategy, where the main imperative could be defined as a personnel-preserving forward drive. With the added benefit of committing just a fraction of overall Russian firepower.
Russian strategy on the battlefield stands in stark contrast with the EU’s obstinacy in being reduced to the status of an American dog’s lunch, with Brussels leading entire national economies to varying degrees of certified collapse and chaos.
Once again it was up to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov – a diplomatic master – to encapsulate it.
Question: “What do you think of Josep Borrell’s (Lavrov’s EU counterpart) initiative to give Ukraine frozen Russian assets as ‘reparations?’ Can we say that the masks have come off and the west is moving on to open robbery?”
Lavrov: “You could say it is theft, which they are not trying to hide … This is becoming a habit for the west … We may soon see the post of the EU chief diplomat abolished because the EU has virtually no foreign policy of its own and acts entirely in solidarity with the approaches imposed by the United States.”
The EU cannot even come up with a strategy to defend its own economic battlefield – just watching as its energy supply is de facto, incrementally turned off by the US. Here we are at the realm where the US tactically excels: economic/financial blackmail. We can’t call these ‘strategic’ moves because they almost always backfire against US hegemonic interests.
Compare it with Russia reaching its biggest surplus in history, with the rise and rise of commodity prices and the upcoming role of the stronger and stronger ruble as a resource-based currency also backed by gold.
Moscow is spending way less than the NATO contingent in the Ukrainian theater. NATO has already wasted $50 billion – and counting – while the Russians spent $4 billion, give or take, and already conquered Mariupol, Berdyansk, Kherson and Melitopol, created a land corridor to Crimea (and secured its water supply), controls the Sea of Azov and its major port city, and liberated strategically vital Volnovakha and Popasnaya in Donbass, as well as Izyum near Kharkov.
That doesn’t even include Russia hurling the entire, collective west into a level of recession not seen since the 1970s.
The Russian strategic victory, as it stands, is military, economic, and may even coalesce geopolitically. Centuries after the Byzantine Strategikon was penned, the Global South would be very much interested in getting acquainted with the 21st century Russian version of the Art of War.
Here in the West, statistics are commonly faked for political purposes. An example is the Gross Domestic Product (gdp), a measure of how much your economy produces. Inflation is counted as an increase in production. Some countries include prostitution and drugs in gdp. Seen this way, Hunter Biden might boosts the US economy.
If we compare US gdp with Russian gdp, it seems the US economy is 12 times larger than the Russian. Sanctions cause US-Russian trade to drop. With these gdp numbers, if US-Russian trade drops one dollar, it hits the Russians 12 times harder than it hits the US. Yet US gasoline price in dollars has seen a year-on-year increase of 49%; while Russian gasoline has seen a year-on-year price increase in rubles of only 6%. It seems sanctions have hit US consumers more than Russian consumers. Why?
My take is that not only has the West falsified its own statistics; we also use these fake statistics in our political decision-making, and take wrong decisions as a result.
Go to shadowstats for a healthy discussion on our economic data and how it’s calculated
The real problem with those statistics is derived from the desperation of the TPTB to mask reality. Example: if you distribute 40-50% of GDP as it is the case in many Western economies favouring Keynesians / MMT fantasies, hurdles on the popular ratios like public debt to GDP of say 60% tells you nothing. Why? Because one should measure the overall indebtedness against the tax bases (all public taxes / contributions) that effectively represents disposable incomes of governments as opposed to GDP of respective countries.
That said it is common misconception to focus on public debt while the problems are always developing in private debt, especially in economies like the US where household consumption accounts for roughly 70% GDP……..
Similar problems are with popular consumer price inflation ratio while all that matters is asset price inflation and evaporation of the overall wealth once liquidity pot dries up (availability of credit) to due rising interest rates leading up to piercing asset bubbles (eg. property market in China now or similar red hot spots in many Western European capitals / major cities).
Your claim, “Western economies favouring Keynesians / MMT fantasies” is not supported by reality. MMT is only a description of economy and a theory of money. It has few policy proscriptions other than a rethink of inflation. MMT properly ascribes inflation to lack of resources due to monopolies, politics, or natural events. Control of inflation is only possible by reversing those causes and sees what it calls a “Federal Jobs Guarantee” as the best medicine, in general.
The fact is that any polity can use monetary theory for its own purposes. Just because MMT claims that a sovereign nation has sovereign money does not mean that nation can abuse its power.
MMT or “magic money tree” – it is not description of economy or theory of money. This is a wet dream of every politician claiming the money is always free and available in bulk, because it is only one click away by central bankers whom their nominate at the end of the day, ergo they need to do what is required and expected as opposed to by prudent monetary policy, …. 99,99% politicians are economic ignorants, they have been dreaming of MMT as an easy tool to buy votes in exchange for promises. Whoever favours MMT as the panaceum for chronic disease of the world’s economy is simply delusional.
As to the Keynesian economy plea, simplifying complexity of public debt management the reality of current days is this: one party dyes paper in green (FED), the other party do the same, say in black (US Treasury bills), papers got exchanged, “rinse – wash – repeat”. Keynes advocated federal spending to mitigate downturns in business cycles. Please explain then how would you describe what has happened since 2008? Have a look only at evolution of national debt and money supply, compare CAGR of those two metrics vs. the CAGR of GDP growth (for all Western economies). Is it not what Keynes was advocating? The government always knowing better what citizens needs and wants, thus spending money in frenzy in collusion with central banks nominees who are politically chosen figures facilitating monetisation of government debt by printing money to infinity? Fantasy land……
GDP means nothing in time of war, consider North Vietnam’s GDP to the USA GDP yet North Vietnam won. A second example would be Afghanistan GDP to the USA GDP and after 20 years we lost.
GDP only measures the monetized parts of the economy.
That’s the “broken window” reality. You only contribute as long as you help make money go round.
How you do it – is called innovation.
Passerby there’s a lot of truth in what u say. In particular, falsification of not just figures but just about everything. The truth is therefore filed under R for rubbish and forgotten. As u say, such is their belief in their own lies it then becomes the foundation for totally irrational decision making and policies. Here in the UK we have a Prime Minister who is a known pathological liar as are most if not all of his Cabinet. The MSM and televised mainstream broadcast news is nothing more than industrial levels of Propaganda, misinformation and lie on lie on lie. I don’t think a largish section of the population believe much of it. There was massive hysteria and industrial levels of propaganda and censorship which ended up with the British public at total saturation levels with it. They lost the interest of the British people. The hysteria and propaganda vis a vis the Ukraine here came right on the back of the covid lot and quite frankly, I work in a high density dealing with the public job, there isn ‘t and hasn’t been much interest.
So called “gdp” means very little. Russia and China’s gdp is based on production of actual commodities and products. US gdp is mostly based on creating imaginary “money” out of thin air, then moving it around. Each move adds to “gdp”.
Ha, economics is simple! GDP is combined measure of internal trade and money supply creation. New money supply MUST be created just to service interest needs, so if we subtract interest needs of a nations global debt from GDP and the number is negative that means shrinkage.. of real productivity or simply of how many hops the units take before they are destroyed on the FY ends. You can easily increase GDP by just having the government deficit spend. Bonds are debt obligations that need never be paid off, and interest can be paid by just writing up more debt. Magic!
Debt creation of course can be used for productive uses like building means of production.. or just to roll over loans and pump up residential real estate which is how Australia grooves.
GDP for countries with a structural BOP shortfall should laughed at. Like most of the west.
” New money supply MUST be created just to service interest needs,”
Only to those who think bankers are not human.
Interest is just the wages of bankers, as profit is the wages of capitalists. Both of those are people, and they spend their wages like everybody else.
Interest is a flow, not a stock. Mistaking interest for money is like mixing up miles and miles per hour
People who get excited about debt forget that debt is nothing more than somebody else’s savings. You can’t have one without the other.
Quite why saving is so bad is never explained.
Interest is a toll on money, and will diminish the money stock available.
It has nothing to do with other people savings. Ask your bank.
Not quite , Banks operate on a fractional loan system. They could be only holding 10% of funds while the other 90% is invested. If every saver demanded their funds back, the banks would go bankrupt. This happened to the US during the 70’s and 80’s where many banks went under. Greece was only saved recently with a large cash injection from Germany. After the civil war in Yugoslavia, all banks collapsed and in the end most citizens were paid 10% to the Dinar to clear the banks debt.
No even remotely true.
The cartel. Frb. Inflates the currency. Sells half to the US government and debt is added to the governments bottom line.
No savings involved
Who owes the debt? The US tax payer. Specifically unborn taxpayers.
Debt is essentially force, slavery and extortion. A means to make people work for free.
And profit? That evil word to satanic sozi folk simply means output was greater than input and therefor worth the effort.
Oh no how terrible.
Until the 1930s – government expenditures were never added to GDP figures. Given that in the US government expenditures run around 42% of GDP versus in RF only around 35% – that’s a big difference right there
It is black magic , the Khazarians learned this from Baal worship and have been applying usury throughout the centuries to essentially steal money.
Falsification of the statistics is indeed a common practice in the West.
But there is even additional problems with GDB as a measurement of the strength of a economy.
Let’s think in for example Italy.
They have several brands who sell some shoes for 1000€, they sell Ferraries an Masseratis for hundred thousands euros.
This quantities add to the GDB, but at the end a shoe is a shoe. To think that Italy is stronger than other country becuase its shoes “luxury brands” it is stupid.
Think about Spain. How much of its GDB it is due to tourism? Does it make them stronger? Of course not.
Think about England, how much of its GDB it’s due to outsources companies that serve other companies across the world giving them services in English. Like Human Resources or so on…
The US is like a combination of all this things, of course have some industrial production and some real economy. But very far away of what GDB shows.
There is even more sophisticated lies. For example everyone put Baltics as a example of liberalisation of economy, how their level of live increased or how their GDB per capita increased..
What everyone always avoid to comment is the sharp demographic decline of the Baltic states after Soviet Union fall. How they lost industrial capacity, how they lost production of lot of stuff.
Other good example is Spain. When Franco died Spain was the 8th industrial powerhouse of the World. It had their own Shipmakers, plane makers, car makers, it’s own nuclear technology production and so on. Also 0 debt.
Then Spain got integrated in NATO, and later on European Union and Euro.
GDB graphs says that Spain is richer now. However industrial production of Spain now felt to irrelevance. Their ship makers practically broken, their car makers own by Volkswagen, their plane maker integrated in Airbus and not any more controlled by Spain.
GDB says that Spain is richer now. But Spain produces far less stuff than before.
Also before people pay a house in 5 years, and not they pay in 50 (if they can buy)
The problem is that, as always, politicians and press lie and finally believe their own lies.
GDB is a measurement of the movement of money in a particular economy. Nothing else, nothing more.
But it does not say anything about if that movement of money correspond to real things or not.
If I decide to pay 1000€ for one apple because I got crazy that will add to the GBB as much as if I spend those 1000€ in 2 square meters of land with a Apple tree.
No matter how big the battlefield and economic losses for the collective West are, this will not change their attitude. On the contrary, every loss will be transformed into a win and every setback will be converted into a doubling down on the course to total destruction. It is immer vorwarts to full eco-fascism, since they don’t know a ruckwarts…
Thanks for this great article Pepe Escobar!!!
It is a clear and concise mapping of the scenario.
I love it, Pepe! Now do agriculture.
About the new version of the “Art of War” …
While it will, no doubt, annoy the anti-Bolshevik majority here, I think it was Lenin who noted in “State and Revolution” that “it is more interesting to go through the process of revolution than to write about it”.
So the new version won’t be available until later. Much later. lol.
Very detailed analysis, thank you !
Some miss the fact that this is more than a regular war between two combatants at least on the Russian side, the natural reaction is to try to turn it into that so that it better fits into our already established mental frameworks(Iraq/Afghanistan) and it makes the mental process easier and gives us “confidence” that we know what is going on, it’s not just regular people doing it, it’s also leaders/economists/politicians/elite, etc from the Western side.
The picture becomes a little clearer when one discards the old mental frameworks regarding the wars in Afghanistan/Iraq, if you do that then it opens up a framework where Russia taking its time and not rushing may make sense. European economies are headed south and so there is even more willingness on the part of the European leaders to talk and escalate about the war in Ukraine in order to distract their populations, this I believe is exactly why the Russians are being so cagey and are releasing so little information, why stop a situation where your enemy is inflicting great loses economically and culturally/legally/ideologically/standards on themselves and doesn’t even realize it? The situation is getting quite complex in Western countries, take for example in the United States. We had a mass shooting by a purported Neo Nazi type fellow and yet with all the Neo Nazi claims in Ukraine it becomes extremely tricky for the media here in the US to cover the shooting, in previous shootings where race was involved, the White Supremacist/NAZI label would come out quite quickly, but now due to Ukraine and their NAZI ideologue type ties, the media is covering this as a “hate” crime. The more complex a system becomes and the more ideological band aids you have to place on it, the more brittle and less responsive to outside threats it becomes.Eventually lies crumble in upon themselves and are way more effective than enemy shells inbound.
I believe the only people who understand most what is going on in the United States leadership are the money handlers/Federal Reserve, they understand this Russian SMO is a direct threat to the dollar and they have reacted to the extent that they can, but again the money system in the US is complex and very political so it is not possible to respond in the most robust way(hiking interest rates to very high levels 10+%) as that is what could counteract commodities taking the place of the dollar as one of the preferred trading mediums.
We agree with “dog 184” in that, there are *other* serious issues of finance & economics going on, especially in the US. As lay people, we have to rely on authentic voices, such as Dr. John Williams of ShadowStats.com who follows the behaviors of The Fed, Manufacturing, Trading, & Real Estate to name, but a few. Dr. Michael Hudson has also dropped a few hints about the extreme volatility of the US Financial Markets, including how US Corporations have become huge “monopolies” with grocery/retail/auto/tech/restaurant businesses.
But it’s the erratic behaviors by the US’ Big Banks, and the entire “gambling casino” on Wall Street with much of this centering around The FED whose only goal is to increase massive riches for the Elite and Super Elite.
You get the general sense that right after “The Financial Crisis” of ’08/’09, The FED went crazy in 2010 with Quantitative Easing. Things have never been the same since, and one feels the US Financial Hegemon is seriously faltering.
We think this is a major factor in what Russian specialists certainly are watching very carefully. Meaning, the entire World of Finance is heavily impacting most Western countries, along with Eurasian, Middle Eastern and some Latin American countries.
It’s more than obvious that the US and it’s sattrapies are still steadily escalating, Sweden (whose PM still a few weeks back was adamantly against joining NATO – and suddenly he turned 180 degrees….) and Finnland joining NATO which WILL go through, else it would be a monumental defeat of the US and thus WILL not happen – unless the earth spins the other way around.
The next possible escalating steps are also crystal clear, Poland (by invitation of Ukraine) will go into West-Ukraine as a “Security Detachment” – the polish army is ready. The US-Congress gave the President green light to engage into Ukraine IF Russia is using weapons of mass-destruction – including chemical weapons – does that ring a bell ? So they ARE in there any moment they like.
THIS war hasn’t even started yet. What kind of noise will be loud enough to allow for the Democrats to easily ‘win’ the autumn elections ? Right, deafining war noise of course !!! It’s all about timing.
Ths russians seem to smell the fish in the cooking and need to speed up things mightily to gain some manouvering space / good (in stratgic terms) standing ground against these looming machinations.
The US’s trashing of Europe is not for nothing, big things are to arrive there according to plans – of course !
Russia was forced to swallow the bait, and must now grind itself out of it – which it will of course – although harsh decisions will be needed – Putin does not refer and link to the past for nothing, he of course knows what’s lying ahead in size and scope – so do the Chinese.
The west does have a clear strategy, in fact. It is the same as pursued since the 50’s. Winning militarily is not the point. Never was. It isn’t this time.
The correct definition of US war is as a vehicle for the expansion of domestic credit. It isn’t a scam. It constitutes a legitimate chunk of the US economy.
Of course, it is deeply immoral. The other chunk of the US economy is plunder and skimming via the dollar rserve system and banking system. Which is equally immoral.
Both of these constitute the basis of the ‘rules based international order’. The two elements combined are almost indistinguishable from the protection rackets of Chicago, which was the amateur precursor.
Talking of the absent US battlefield strategy in this operation is missing the fact, is missing the raison d’etre of their strategy. The US is a superb military strategist, if you first understand that their guns and violence are like Al Capone’s racket. They have been brilliant at reaching their financial credit and skimming objectives for decades.
What Russia is waging is specifically and fundamentally an economic war because it confronts the specific purpose and motivation of US war. Entering Ukraine was to trigger an economic conflict at a historic point of Western vulnerablity. It has been met likewise with pure economic war.
The issue is not that the US has no strategy. It is just that their prevailing strategy can not accommodate the coordinated action of China and Russia cutting of supply and causing supply inflation to which there is no fiscal or monetary policy answer and where war succeeds in only exacerbating domestic pain.
@Proper
Re: “China and Russia causing “supply inflation” by cutting off the supply of real goods to raise their price?
I think the EU$A is doing that to itself.
How many Eu$$ies does it take to turn on a gas tap?
No, that is not what is happening. The west is not doing harm to itself by stupidity. It is harming itself in the course of conducting a war which it is waging skilfully and brutally.
Russia entered Ukraine to specifically trigger this economic war. It is being perpetuated by the west because the actual arm wrestle is not over Ukrainian territory but over who can survive the economic battle and who draws the economic map when it is over, the US uni-pole or a new sovereign multi-pole system.
To illustrate, although the incursion was most certainly to save the Donbass from attack, Putin et al repeatedly state that this war is to end NATO and the abuses of a uni-polar world.
NATO and the uni-polar world is not located in Donbass or Kiev so you have to assume that the operation is primarily directed at the uni-polar power of the west – its financial architecture and NATO, the army of compliant vassals.
Russia has both triggered a financial war and is going to continue it ’til the western pips come out. The West has responded and is going to continue until Russia’s pips come out, if it can.
And this is the warning you perhaps don’t get: just as losing population and raw materials is a calculated cost of fighting hot war, so inflation, commodity prices, the cost of living, poverty and starvation is a calculated cost of war in my and your country by our leaders.
It is not stupidity by the west. It is economic war. You need to buckle up because in an economic war you and your neighbours will suffer if your economic generals deem it a necessary price. And the worse because they can’t win and cant sue for peace either.
You got it right on all counts.
Ritter panicked & jumped the gun. He made that vid before the US asked Putin for a ceasefire. Also before it was confirmed that a US & Canadian general, plus 4 NATO trainers surrendered at Azovstal.
A few howitzers are a setback, not a reversal.
” He made that vid before the US asked Putin for a ceasefire. ”
Just right before. That is exactly why I said in another post that Scott has good connections in high places of US military. Lloyd Austin didn’t call Shoigu at his own whim, but for the reasons that was known to anyone in top brass for quite some time.
@Proper.
I think we are saying the same thing from slightly different perspective.
You are looking more at the economic war that “the West’s” self styled “Elites” are waging against Russia, China, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Africa, South America and the rest of that 80% of the world’s population (about 6 Billion people).
While I am looking more at the economic war which “the West’s” self styled “Elites” are waging against their own population (less than 1 Billion people).
This is not a question of stupidity, all the “Elites” are above average intelligence, their collective behaviour indicates an IQ above 80.
PS: the answer to my question, “How many EU$$ies does it take to turn on a gas tap is 1. Chancellor Scholz could do it by simply picking up the telephone to the German Regulatory Authority.
Correction, that should read: Chancellor Stolz.
Agreed. The grand strategy is unipolar vs multipolar on the global chessboard. Everything that happens, Ukraine and Europe included, is tactical and operational towards this end. I think that the US has always had hegemonic tendencies but has been captured and directed by Zionist global banksters who are the riders on the US horse. All grand strategy decisions for the fascist unipolar world order originate with the Khazarian Mafia. It is not as clear to me where the multipolar world order strategy is directed but Putin and Xi seem to lead it as a sheilding strategy to preserve their country’s sovereignty. I think it’s a compelling paradigm and is catching the attention of nations, and citizens in those nations. They will have to choose sides and support the side they deem to be in their best interests, those who are aware that is. Every individual on this planet will all be affected, perhaps profoundly, and in some small way, either consciously or unconsciously, will play a part. Truth is the sheild against organized and persistent evil and Justice is it’s sword.
Disagree. The US has had a strategy, but it has failed and they are stuck in a situation they cannot back out of without collapsing the house of cards. So they are are tripling down hoping it will work if they just keep trying, because they have no other option at this point.
Inflation was not caused by the war in Ukraine, it was a direct effect of government spending to combat Covid19. The central banks allowed inflation to escalate purposely to create the inflationary environment we are in today. The Central Banks to not increase interest rates until recently to reign back inflation.
That is not true. You are talking about monetary driven inflation. That’s not what this is.
Monetary inflation is controlled by monetary and capital measures, such as raising interest rates, to suck excess liquidity out of markets (monetary) or by shutting down an economy to curb consumer driven inflation (lockdowns – an extreme capital control for inflation management).
What we now see is supply driven inflation particularly in the energy, fertiliser, components, raw material etc sectors. This was initially due to rebooting slackened supply routes post locdown, but now it is because of Ukraine invasion and Chinese fake locdown exclusively.
There is no monetary or capital answer to lack of goods. You can’t print them, and if you need them, no amount of money is too much in a bidding war.
Maybe if you believe in supply side economics it might not be true.
inflation has been rising for the past two years and accelerated the last few months and central banks did not touch interest rates. The money supply has expanded, it should have been constricted. To contain inflation will take year’s unless the central banks want to shock the economy with massive interest rate increases.
So we have all been smearing and laughing about the amateurs of Nato the last two month. Here comes the punishment for under-estimating your enemy. https://www.globalresearch.ca/scott-ritter-switcheroo-why-i-radically-changed-my-overall-assessment/5780404
And we’re still laughing. Once Ritter has been proven wrong his credibility will have been destroyed completely.
Anything Scott Ritter says must be heeded: the man who personally supervised the destruction of Saddam’s WMD; and was fired for doing his job properly as Chief UN Weapons Inspector.
I think Ritter is looking ahead to the bigger picture; this Special Operation in the Ukraine is merely the first stage in Russia’s stated objective: no NATZO east of Berlin. If NATZO continues to be as “stoltz” [obstinately stupid] as Stoltenberg, and continues to pour Western weapons into East Europe, then 1 Million Russian troops are on the cards. For the second time in my life; and probably with the same result: their flag flying over the Reichstag and the German chancellor wishing he had chosen to lead the Russians instead of his present lousy job.
First off, IMO globalresearch.ca is not the most reliable news source. Further, the page you linked is only reporting on an interview with Scott Ritter, not doing the interview itself (the interview itself can be watched at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4SlSILtlpc). It does have the advantage of being faster to read.
Based on the interview, the person writing the review (Michael Whitney, apparently a self-proclaimed “renowned geopolitical and social analyst based in Washington State”) says Ritter is worried that some of the weapons sent to Ukraine are having an effect in the Russians (he specifically mentions the howitzers in the Kharkov region). Ritter goes on to say that “This is a transformative moment in the war, because what it means is that demilitarization is not taking place”. He also says that “the fighting that’s taking place right now – even though it is slaughtering Ukrainians – it isn’t cost free to the Russians”. He sounds pessimist, and says that “unless they (Russia) alter that methodology – I think we’re in for a very long summer” (please, go read the site, or better yet, read the whole interview in youtube for more details).
Well, I respect Ritter’s opinion, and surely knows much more about military developments than me. However, he is not privy of Russia’s own goals. Sure, maybe it is not being a walk in the park for Russia, but one thing I’m pretty confident Russia can do is adapt to the conditions on the field. Right now, the West may (and I stress the “may”, Ritter’s opinions notwithstanding) be able to make an efficient use of some of the material delivered to Ukraine, but Russia will probably find a way to counter this. Either that, or we’ll have an escalation in this operation, to the disadvantage of everyone.
Anyway, I found somewhat hilarious what the author concluded from Scott Ritter’s interview:
“IMHO, […] Ukraine is the first phase of a broader plan for crushing Russia, collapsing its economy, removing its leaders, seizing its natural resources, splintering its territory, and projecting US power across Central Asia to the Pacific Rim. Ukraine is about hegemony, empire, and pure, unalloyed power. Most important, Ukraine is the first battle in a Third World War, a war that was concocted and launched by Washington to ensure another unchallenged century of American primacy.”
Ok, the plan may be that (although I seriously doubt the West can plan that far), but this seems to be miles away from what Ritter said…
People need to be careful with Scott Ritter’s comments. He is not always on the mark.
That indeed may well be the case here, Amarynth. It is important to note that Scott Ritter is careful on what he says, although he does seem worried on the use of all those weapons delivered to Ukraine (too much worried, though, IMO). It is wise not to underestimate the other side, and we must be careful to consider that the West is not all that stupid, and may be able to indeed deliver part of those weapons to the frontlines. I’m confident, though, that Russia can find a way to counter this.
Cheers.

Scott Ritter is an american. I am not holding that against him but all his military training and conditioning would be that of.. very much american. I think one needs to read this piece by Pepe Escobar one more time, especially if the essence of it has not been fully grasped. He is absolutely spot on as to Russia’s objectives and strategy. Read it once again, paying due attention this time. It would clarify quite a lot of things. Perhaps someone should sent a link to it to Scott Ritter.
I too was struck by Ritter’s change in tone. My instincts tell me it is not a genuine reflection of what he actually believes. But I do not have enough information to go beyond that,
Katerina, thanks for the tip to re-read Pepe’s article. I did so, and took away this message. Others may cut’n’paste different parts, but they all repay careful reading:
“Strategic primacy, for [Orthodox Christian] Byzantium, was a psychological affair — more than diplomatic or military. The word Strategia itself is derived from the Greek strategos – which does not only mean “General” in military terms, as the west believes, but historically corresponds to a higher level politico-military function.”
[For instance, the great writer Sophocles was also a politico-military civil “strategos” in ancient Athens].
“This ignorance [about Russia’s Operation Z, by the West’s so-called “Elites”] reaches way beyond the [purely military] tactical, operational and strategic realm.
” … Only a few outliers [among the so called “Western Elite”] understand that Operation Z is not a war – since the Ukraine Armed Forces have [already] been irretrievably routed – but actually what Russian military expert Andrei Martyanov calls a “combined arms police operation,” a work-in-progress on demilitarization and denazification.
“[West’s so-called “Elites”] have been totally baffled by Russia’s Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities. [Even more, the West’s so called “Elites” are perpetually being] baffled by the stunning inefficiency of their own [so called “advanced” weapons such as] Javelins, NLAWs, Stingers and drones.”
Thank you. For some bizarre reason….people on the websites and blogs I frequent think Ritter and Lira are some kind of water walking prophets. They are not. I keep reminding people that through out history, analysts and Commanders on the field and in the office, have made unbelievably bad decisions.
Ritter is American…..all he knows is American military strategy – my opinion is that he is just as ignorant of what is happening as the rest of the “analysts” of the Western mindset. He certainly does not understand the Asian/Russian ways of war, let alone Sun Tzu’s philosophies.
We need to forgive him though….he has been under the Western delusion that the Western way of war is superior….he will end up eating his words at some point.
In reality, the U.S. has never won a war against a superior force. Our wars have always been against, for the most part, shepherds in sandals….from the genocide of the Native Americans…to the Spanish American War, to Korea and the Middle East. People need to mull that over a bit.
Patience is not an attribute of the West…they don’t understand the concept in the least.
Of course, no one is always on the mark, and Ritter might be wrong in making his about face. He does not have access to the information that the Russian General Staff does. At the same time, he has shown himself to be deserving of respect as a perceptive and honest analyst. Just how perceptive, we will learn in time. However, I will not be surprised if Russia, at some point, decides that it is necessary to interdict the flow of weapons into Ukraine by way of Poland. This may require a fairly large contingent of fresh troops to accomplish.
Read where the Russian missiles are hitting. They are destroying the weapons as they are entered into Ukraine, stored, waiting for ammunition for the weapons, deployed to training areas, and transported by rail to areas where damage to the rail system is fatal to the weapons but not completely destructive to the rail system, part of which the Russians use for shipping their ammo to their artillery sites.
So, they are indicting the weapons, despite the fact that you and many others, including ‘experts’ don’t seem to know the daily tolls at 500 to 1000 sites that the Russian rocket and missile and artillery and Aerospace forces pound into twisted, burnt metal heaps, along with 400-500 poor Ukie troops.
This “plan” of the author’s seems a lot like the WEF plan. I do believe the US and WEF are in lockstep which depresses me no end.
This whole interview is very confusing to me. How did he not realize that western aid would reach the front in some capacity? Normally only the most fanatical Russian patriots claim that everything will get destroyed before reaching the front.
This man knows war VERY well, he should certainly understand that Russia isn’t going to send Caliber missiles to chase individual Toyotas pulling an M777. The cost-benefit would be absurdly low. He should also understand that the M777 is not in any way advanced, the US is shipping them without their targeting computers and as far as we know, without the ludicrously expensive high-precision Excalibur rounds. This is a normal howitzer in every conceivable way, not less and not more.
Certainly, Ukraine will rebuild part of its military capacity and they are doing this currently in Poland, Germany and the US. Should Russia bomb them and start world war 3?
Also why would Russia increase its contingent to 1.5 million? That’s a grouping that would quickly take the entire territory of Ukraine, yes, but that cost would be unbearable to Russia. Also Ukraine isn’t even capable of actually mobilizing 1 million men like they are claiming. Most experts I’ve seen claim they would top out at max 800k. With the current attrition rate they suffer, no amount of western aid will be enough before they lose the manpower needed to fight on.
Finally, the Russian contingent isn’t just 200k troops. It’s also 50k LDPR rebels and 83k volunteers plus another 50k that will be sent in.
The real conversation should be about whether Russia has the manpower to take most of Ukraine’s territory or if they will have to stop after taking the south and east.
Why do people keep insisting that Russia wanted to take most of Ukraine’s territory. That was never mentioned. Except in the West. On the contrary, Russia has said they have no intention to occupy Ukraine. The two newly independent Republics are not Ukraine. Questionable now is Odessa. Will Russia take it or not? No one knows. The West changed the initial plan. Now Odessa could become ‘compensation’ for stolen funds.
I think Ritter is making a very valid warning. Russia taking Donbas is all well and good but what if they then want to stop but a heavily armed Ukraine refuses? They end up with a very aggressive neighbour this time armed to the teeth.
Ritter never suggested Russia wouldn’t achieve its objectives, just stating that in the long term it may have a bigger problem than before. This doesn’t suggest the Russians don’t have this already factored in, he is just making an observation.

escobar excellent as always. funny that i just left a comment elsewhere saying the same thing about the pace of operations. it’s like everyone in the west expects battles to look like a scene from braveheart where all the soldiers just run screaming into the middle of a field. but then the US is famous for swatting flies with a sawed off shotgun so patience and subtlety are hardly their forte.
“NATO has already wasted $50 billion – and counting – while the Russians spent $4 billion, give or take”
Finally someone of Pepe’s fame adressed this fact of life.
As I recall Hunter Biden was inserted into Burisma because of huge untapped oil/gas reserves in and around Azov sea.
With released water supply, Crimean agriculture can earn quite a sum, especially at exorbitant prices of food this year.
War is someone’s Mummy, and another’s Stepmother.
What is the source for what Russia has spent on the war so far??? I can’t imagine they put out the real number here. Especially given that they lost over $300 billion that the west stole.
They didn’t actualy lost anything NOW. That money never existed in reality. For years, West took 300 billion worth of Russian oil and gas and never payed. They just typed numbers in computer. Those countries who actualy gave money, payed UK/US robber barons, not Russia. Only now Russia is actually payed for its resources, and that is the reason for Rouble’s success.
UK/US froze just numbers on account. Lack of Russian gas will freeze everything else next winter.
The good questions are WHY Russia allowed such blatant setup for robbery? Who benefited and how it was done exactly?
“The good questions are WHY Russia allowed such blatant setup for robbery? Who benefited and how it was done exactly?”
Trust is at the foundation of the monetary system. The objective was to demolish global trust in the all-dominant western system, which was suffocating the entire world. Zone B and all longing for sovereignty benefitted from Russia’s sacrifice.
Russia knew this was coming many years ago. Glazyev wrote of it in his 2016 book. However, like a rock-climber pinned to a crevice and isolated from others, one is prepared to do the unthinkable and even sacrifice an arm to save the body. Russia has easily survived this and has near unlimited resources and know-how to replenish.
And consider the immediate fruits – with numerous economists saying the AZE heist of the Russian forex has doomed the dollar and foreign savings in the west.
Was this not worth freedom from the Dollar reserve system, without resorting to nuclear war? Most nations had been zombies, trusting blindly or rotely functioning in the dollar system and saving their earnings or loot in western banks. The West dropped its mask with this stupid move, showing themselves to be unreformed Pirates. How can the AZE put Humpty Dumpty back together now, while everyone not western runs for the hills? Many Russian oligarchs are already in either the UAE or Israel.
And those $300+ billion are not stolen forever. According to Glazyev and others, an even greater amount of western assets ($500 billion?) sits in Russia, which can be nationalized or exchanged at will. Like the EU silently reversing its sanctions to pay in ruble for gas, mechanisms will be found to reimburse Russia for the heist. “The strong do what they can, the weak suffer what they must.”
The Anglo-Saxons love their Great Train Robberies, but this was a Bridge Too Far.
The Russian forex served as trap and achieved an own-goal which will end the fiat dollar domination. It will help usher in a new system, “a fairer world order (© Lavrov),” free of debt-based usury, we hope! This is the more important track two (alongside the SMO) of the hybrid global war. And likely coordinated with China and others to compensate Russia for its many sacrifices. In fact I fear it may have been too well planned, causing an agonized and checkmated western pirates to lash out in the Samson option.

There is no hope that Russia will use the western financial system for s long time to come.
Its not likely to take loans from the west. eventually some western companies might want to invest in Russia. Question is will Russia want that? Even if they did western banks will not loan money to these schemes. So maintaining ratings from western financial institutions is not just possible nor it is of any use.
A large economy like Russia will eventually disengage and develop without any qualitative control levers from western institutions. However other big economies like China India and perhaps Gulf arab countries will find. way to do business with Russia despite sanctions.
This itself is a big loss for the west as an alternate financial reality is being created which will involve the largest (China) and third largest (India) and many others like Gulf arab countries and Asean countries.
On a much smaller scale, effective police work, if done well, is almost entirely psychological. A matter of fact and empathic manner is astoundingly effective. Hostility brings out reflected hostility. Intimidation and bullying is often a direct invitation to a fight. Fun, apparently, for some people, but not a constructive use of energy, if it was optional.
You do have to be always prepared to act physically, but that readiness is also mental, and if it is solid, the possibly violent person will feel and respond to it. No approach works with everyone, every time, of course, for instance not with irrational people, as we know, but most of the time this one does.
From the attrition of NATO weaponry to the blowback effect of the sanctions upon Europe and the empire itself, it seems the Russians are deploying on multiple levels a strategy similar to that of Falkenhayn at Verdun in 1916, where the goal was not to “win” right away but to draw the enemy into attrition at his disadvantage.
Hopefully it’ll work better this time round. It’s looking good so far.
Wordsmith Pepe rules!!!
Wonderful Article Pepe !,,,Gives us understanding to what is really going on in the Ukraine . Shocked at how the EU is destroying its own Economy . They seem to have no plan , but following directive from USA ..
Why the US imperialists will boost their efforts to destabilize China through Xinjiang
https://bit.ly/3NcCifU
most common westerners do not seem to get to the meat of what is happening, history rhymes, the main players in this conflict cycle is – between the man players being, the very very fragmented collective psyche of the ‘wayward west’ and of the less fragmented rightly vengeful but historically wronged ‘russian collective psyche’.
what the one percent who control the wayward west has accomplised is, waking up a sleeping giant and filled it with furious venge.
the sleeping 99 percent of the innocent wayward west, may end up paying dearly for the sins of it’s one percent psychos.
I think we in the “sleeping countries” deserve what is coming our way.
Excellent analysis. Especially the ability for the Russian high command to be methodical AND flexible while accomplishing their goals all the same.
I wonder if every analyst at Langley sees the world as if they are a combo of Julius Caesar and Churchill, grandiose and self-sure as their losses and bad decisions mount around them. But make sure it sounds GREAT on paper.
The West creates legions of self-deluding lunatics.
Brilliant, I love the historic background Mr Escobar provides in his articles.
Wonderful Pepe..
We in the West are watching the Ukraine situation very closely. The blowback of the Nazi fan club has already hit the United States, with this internet zombie-racist who killed 10 mostly black people in Buffalo, as noted by a certain political candidate here in New York State for US Senator. The Biden – Schumer policy of using gangs, this time Nazi gangs in the Ukraine is backfire in a rather frightening way. G-d help us all.
51 Nazis had surrendered today at Azovstal, both seriously wounded and those who could still fight. The ending is getting closer.
1. 20 seriously wounded, 31 relatively healthy surrendered.
2. One of the resistance groups surrendered, which actually broke away from the main group.
3. Surrendered under guarantees of saving lives.
4. No one promised to exchange them.
Pepe is a genius. No one else matches him for socio-political and military commentary. The fact that it is not conceivable that a journalist of his caliber could work for any Western media outlet says so much about the intellectual collapse of the West.
Very nice. Still, it bears mention that what we are watching is the Davosauros failing at pretty much everything except the intentional ruination of the west, so that it can then take it over through the UN or some such, coupled with Russia behaving sensibly given her circumstances. In other words, it’s Davos that’s failing here, not so much the US or even the west, the people of whom have so far been marginalized and oppressed.
I agree with what you say, I would only add that the Davos plan to have the downtrodden West run by the UN may have a blind spot in the French. It was incredibly stupid of the US/UK to cut the French out of their submarine deal with Oz. France was already seeing NATO for what it was, a captive market for ridiculously expensive US weaponry and wars.
So France is not likely to want to be ruled by anyone, not NATO, not the UN, especially after this Ukraine fiasco. It will be interesting to see how much of the EU remains captive of the US by spring. And how much of the US for that matter.
Thank you for your reply. It’s particularly interesting because I have trouble getting a good sense of how much the French do or don’t have left in them when it comes to being controlled and fleeced by other countries or destroyed internally by atheist mobs. It’s not that I don’t have similar doubts about the US these days, but I know a little about the Eldest Sister of the Church and what, for example, St. Joan was able to stir up before the great erosion of morale that followed. My own family is from Italy, and I love Europe and don’t want her to go down and be replaced by something much less noble, beautiful, and worthy.
I will say this: there is definitely an emerging awareness in the US of our takeover by the financier class and global elites. At least half of us are clear that the 2020 presidential election was stolen and that some kind of civil war is increasingly likely. In many ways, the rebuilding has already started, even before the expected upheaval has gotten into full swing. I hope what you’re saying is that France is not in a mood to just sit back and let the Davosauros eat her.
I always look forward to Pepe’s articles. He seems to see through the lies and propaganda that pass for news and opinion in the West. However, when he comments on military affairs, we, his readers, must bear in mind that Pepe is not schooled in military science, as far as I know. He knows a great deal about history, culture, literature and economics, but, as Andrei Martyanov likes to point out, those disciplines are not relevant to understanding combat and warfare. I’m not saying that Pepe is wrong in his analysis of military affairs, but he must, of necessity, depend on what others tell him, and we know nothing about the qualifications, knowledge and biases of his sources. With that caveat, I certainly hope that his take on the Ukraine war is correct.
Don’t worry the West has a plan to “help” Ukrainians. They are already working on getting some of them jobs:
For those who are told that the West will help refugees… In Los Angeles, on an advertising board, an invitation for Ukrainian women to work in a strip club. And as you can see, this is not just an announcement, but with the Ukrainian flag. To have no illusions.

Well, the US has a reputation of “always being on the look-out for a business opportunity!” Past experience of visiting Kiev decades ago does suggest that the Eastern European ladies are certainly better looking than their US “People of Walmart” equivalent.
I would safely wager they are considerably smarter too! (again, past personal experience here including The Wife!)

The Real Reason Behind the EU’s Drive to Embargo Russian Oil

But the bigger question is whether or not this conflict escalates to the point where winning is an irrelevant concept. When you see a bloc as powerful as the European Union willing to commit acts of domestic vandalism this big—and blaming the victim of their unbridled aggression—it tells you we are far past the point of rational settlement.
…
EU domestic vandalism against its own population and that this policy, Davos made, is actually European is key. EU domestic vandalism has drawn the US into yet again another tantrum. What was Napoleon, or Hitler other than a Vandal?
I talked yesterday to someone who is living in Germany for a decade, but who is not a german himself. He said the Green Party in Germany is mostly pro-war against Russia, and seems to be fairly confident Germany can withstand any blowback from this war. He also said many young people is supporting this position.
I have to admit I’m a little baffled by this “fact”. Either I’m misunderstanding the german gas dependency on Russia, or I’m underestimating the german ingenuity, or the Green party and its supporters are not the ones who will be the most affected by the blowback (and could’nt care less about those who will).
I have the impression (but I’m may be wrong) it is the latter. Sad times indeed.
“or I’m underestimating the german ingenuity”
You are overestimating German intelligence. I live 5 minutes from the German border.Since 1990.
That is their default setting – Being Russophobic.
I think a point to consider is the Greens haven’t been effected yet. Once they are, and as they do appear to be a bit unhinged, I expect they will just as stridently demand the govt work with Russia for fuel, food, etc. The Greens seem to me to be intellectual fops who will change their beliefs on a dime if it involves discomfort. Could be wrong.
The Ampel (traffic light) Coalition with the Greens took months to form, the President was nearly called.
The Greens projected 27+% actually only got around 7%. How stable the Coalition is will be tested with inflation and freezing voters, very soon.
They have 2 ministers, Baerbock and Habeck, who were on record before the election as war hawks.
The usual Volksparteien, peoples parties, were disgraced after the 2008 bank bailouts and financial black-zero policy. Look at the Ahr Valley flood disaster during the election – no reconstruction mobilization.
How the Greens morphed from a traditional anti-war party to a frothing tank rider is a story – they are “in-sync” with the Dems, Biden.
They were virulent anti-NordStream2 even when it was obvious Trump and Biden were touting US LNG freedom gas that the deep-pocketed Green donors like.
Klaus Schwab’s great reset is getting ruined. Europe has to turn on Nordstream 2 or else deal with popular revolt as life gets unaffordable. Imperial fascism has run into its immovable object. Europe will be sovereign once again. We are watching the slow purge of zionism from western empire, and empires subsequent collapse. Its going to get ridiculous
Putin vs Schwab. Like a Jedi master beating up on a Sith Lord
The USA and the EU are geopolitically playing – perhaps without being aware of it – the roles of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. The way how the USA is waging a war against Russia is simply outmoded & out of date. Its famous javelins have proved to have the same dismal effectiveness on the state-of-the-art battlefield of today as Don Quixote’s weapons had against the windmills. Yes, the USA leadership really thought it would encounter something comparable to Don Quichote’s windmills in Cervantes’ novel, when the proxy war on Russia was waged at the end of February. But instead of the passive windmills in Cervantes’s rich imagination the nowadays Don Quixote (USA) is being exposed to something active: the firepower and mindpower, made in Russia, of such a bewildering strength & modernity, that the USA & NATO are baffled, having no clue what is happening,
I use the metaphor of Don Quixote to point out a weakness in the otherwise empowered analysis of Pepe Escobar. And that is the role of Sancho Panza, the EU. This role is much more equipped with cunning and slyness, than Pepe Escobar is willing to admit. The way how decisions are being made in the EU vastly differs from the USA. One cannot make a ‘unipolar’ prognosis of what will happen within the EU, because the EU is multipolar in itself. In practice this means, that the EU never will be able to stand up as Don Quichote as the USA is doing, but in the end Sancho Panza is the one who reaps the profits. Pepe Escobar IMHO underestimates the Sancho Panza (or soldier Schwejk) role of the EU.
Pepe’s essay is an eye-opener! Consider when the Ukrainian “War” is finally over, what will be the West’s position on sanctions and other intimidation short of the military option? Perhaps unknown but also perhaps the West will think it a win given the Sweden and Finland may expand NATO and essentially neutralize the gains of reducing Ukraine to inoffensive status. Another possibility is to slowly continue the war in a measured fashion while the West escalates sanctions and the blowback against its own economies. If this lasts long enough we may even see the collapse into a serious hyperinflation depression of the whole economy and the neutering as a side benefit of NATO itself. I wonder if Putin has mused along the same lines. I think this speculation is also suggested in this piece.
A possibility is the US may decide someone is to blame for Russia’s success despite the west’s 6500 and counting sanctions. It’s possible they may decide to blame China and run the same sanctions drill including trashing them in the UN. Even possibly doing a coastal embargo of some Chinese ports or refusing them entry in western ports. The US needs a war, they may have decided Russia is too much to take on right now and see China as more vulnerable. And there is always Venezuela if that doesn’t work out…
US-NAYOYO has not weakened Russia to the point where it can no longer mount offensive operations in its near abroad. Russia’a economy is surviving Western sanctions quite well thanks to crude and natural gas supply crisis and resulting high prices. Inflation is booming in the West, with food, fertilizer, and fuel shortages. Brexit also appears as a grand strategic mistake.
NAYOYO military prowess is not making an appearance. Supplies of heavy weapons may have reached their limits as many countries can’t strip their own military of critical equipment. Weapons that make it to the front have limited capabilities and surprisingly poor performance. Stocks of ATGM are abandoned in retreat suggesting that these weapons are not kept in hand as AFU first choices for a fight. It isn’t just one make or model of anti-tank weapon that is discarded but across the board. MANPADS are seldom recovered from retreating AFU supplies suggesting they are still valued.
Shipping the AFU obsolete and vulnerable armoured vehicles suggests NAYOYO expects the AFU to lose this equipment, so they won’t reinforce failure. It suggests the AFU lacks the training and supervision to employ sophisticated weapons. Supplies of 155 artillery is an example. They have been shipped without the sophisticated satellite location and fire control electronics and apparently must be fired in WWII mode. This would make accurate use of GPS guided shells very difficult. Shipping M113 APCs is a cynical joke. These were useless in Vietnam 60 years ago, but the US spent money maintaining this junk. They will only be useful as post-war farm tractors.
US foreign policy has long focussed on maintaining the credibility of US words and actions. Frankly, it appears as if NAYOYO has weakened itself such that the West won’t be able to mount interventions elsewhere. Not least because they will be widely condemned for betraying peaceful stability, human rights abuses, and national political rights, while pursuing obviously racist goals. The White West is on the brink of isolating itself from every other part of the world, a strategic reversal of their stated war goals.
Thank you Pepe. I agree that Russia has the capability to turn up the pain dial on the economies of the West. Vital Russian commodities such as gas, oil, fertilizer, wheat, nickel and other metals needed for manufacturing can be withheld from the West. With that being the case, friendly nations will happily purchase these commodities once destined for the EU and US. For the friendly’s: India bought Russian oil at a significant discount and China has increased its purchase of Russian gas by 60%. Markets in Asia are the beneficiaries of what the West denies itself.
You put it in good perspective, the movement of money but GDP does measure the price of goods and services not industrial production. There are production statistics that are published as well. The economic statistic that is most deceiving is Debt to GDP. It’s based on the premise that countries with a higher GDP can handle more debt, completely wrong. There is something called the law of diminishing returns. A good example is the US debt at 30 trillion or so but the GDP to debt percentage is 120%, still high. However, the interest on that debt is so high that that 30 trillion can never be paid back, it’s mathematically impossible. The economy would have to produce quadrillions or something ridiculous like that to lower debt levels. The US economy and most of the world is a Ponzi scheme ready to crash.
the folly of empire:
A scrimmage in a Border Station —
A canter down some dark defile —
Two thousand pounds of education
Drops to a ten-rupee jezail —
The Crammer’s boast, the Squadron’s pride,
Shot like a rabbit in a ride!

No formulae the text-books know,
Will turn the bullet from your coat,
Or ward the tulwar’s downward blow
Strike hard who cares — shoot straight who can —
The odds are on the cheaper man.
Rudyard Kipling
Thank you, I had never read that one.
He was very gung-ho on WW1, insisting over his wife’s tears that his only son who was 17 join up immediately, and because the boy’s sight was poor Kipling personally intervened to get him in the Irish brigades. The dutiful son did as his father wanted, and died almost immediately, slaughtered in France like so many. His body was never recovered until well after his parent’s had died.
In later years Kipling wrote, “If any question why we died, tell them, because our fathers lied.” Thank you again.
@Bonami
Thank you for telling us the result of Kipling’s quite normal hypnosis by 14 years of relentless anti-German propaganda prior to Britain’s declaration of war in WW1, and Britain’s treacherous invasion (without declaring war) of Iraq’s oil port, Basra. His Majesty’s Government hired the best creative writers of that time to create animosity to all things German, so that HMG could more easily lead British sheeple to the slaughter “ad majorem gloriam petrolei”.
I have altered Kipling’s sentimental jingle accordingly:
“If anyone asks why my own son died,
Tell them: because his father lied”.
Conflicting Azov headcounts : Interrogation of Ukrainian prisoners of war from Azovstal will begin on May 17 in the morning
https://readovka.news/news/97208
We hear up to 500 surrendered, get meds, and interrogation. Yet there are many more?
…
According to her information, now the wounded “Azov soldiers” are under guard in the hospital of Novoazovsk. Now they are being taken to Yelenivka, a prisoner of war camp. Irina Kuksenkova noted that 2227 people, including pregnant servicemen and women, are still blocked in Azovstal.
…
How did they get out without fragging?
Bonbon I wouldn’t believe a word Irina K says. She has claimed Russian soldiers are committing all sorts of war crimes and atrocities. I doubt very much indeed that there are still 2227 still in the Tunnels. This is the Ukies trying to pull a stunt of some sort to get the azov soldiers out of there without surrender. If there are pregnant service women there then they should have come out today or when the civilians were evacuated. She is a monstrous liar without any scruples or morality. If those 2000 don’t come out then they will die there. It will be their fault. Pure unequivocal bullshit.
Good to know, thanks.
A propos of The Strategikon, the English poet and historian Robert von Ranke Graves gives an account of early strategic genius in the childhood of a famous Byzantine general, Count Belisarius (Penguin Press), of whom it was predicted:
“If this child is spared until manhood he will make a general of the first rank: for he has the six chief gifts of generalship – patience, courage, invention, the control of his forces, the combination of different arms in attack, and the timing of the decisive blow.”
So how did the tortoise get on the fence between Russia and Ukraine? Yes, someone put it there, the same someone who arranged bidens 81m votes and paid for the cookies in torias bage at Maidan. The ONLY way it will desist is if Israel comes under threat of a nuking, rothschilds are least concerned about millions of goyim lives in Europe or Sweden or Finland. But as ilhan Omar pointed out, goyim are hypnotised, its gotta be satan or his Rev 3:9 synagogue.
You say NATO is spending more…I don’t see it that way…I don’t think NATO is spending many lives at all.
This war has been profitable to the American Empire elites, the Russians could do better in the propaganda stakes.
For example many people live on the streets in the U.S, producing material to distribute on the streets -forget about internet propaganda, these people have nothing- pointing out their plight and how much money is spent on the Ukrainians for “their” benefit?
Again distribution of the economic facts to European countries in pamphlets left on public transport and public areas of how well their U.S ally thousands of miles away is doing at their expense.
The propaganda war is really where Russia falls down.
China can help with their assets in the Pacific.
Russia has to wage war on the mind as well as the body.
Those who fight limited war rarely ever win!
Did the Afghans fight with propaganda, did the Vietnamese?
Their adversaries didn’t go all out thats where the invaders failed in total war.
Serbia seems to be a point of agitation. Why were there so many bomb threats?
https://www.euronews.com/2022/05/16/serbia-s-capital-belgrade-paralysed-by-hundreds-of-bomb-threats
I think the West’s strategy is to draw Russia out by instigating in Serbia.

It is war or ‘war’ should not be a word. If Putin were to say, “Ukraine is part of historical Russia, so I cannot be or see myself in a ‘war’ against Ukraine…”, it would be coherent enough for him to say it, independent of whether I agree or disagree. But if I tell him that for me it’s a “war” according to a dictionary definition, I expect him to understand me too, of course. (Those who don’t think it’s a war might well think it is if they spent a week in the Donbass, especially on the receiving end.)
Regarding “combined arms police operation”, it seems more applicable to a “rescue.” Maybe pres. Putin could also say that he views himself as a rescuer. In the present context, “police” is an offensive term to all Ukrainians in my opinion. I am certain that neither Putin nor Lavrov have used or would use this term for it. “Special Military Operation” is a way to put it because of the word “military” there. “Special Operation” would not do. The police carry “arms” too.
Wordplay > simple no need to use the word ‘War’: The SMO is an “intervention”….that covers the meaning of a forced process of rescue, pacifying, modifying, restructuring…denazification is the small arms police action + demilitarizing can only be done with bigger weapons.
I take the view that the Ukraine lost its sovereignty in 2014 with the Maidan Putsch…it was never a legitimate government after this event. Military facts have always shaped changes in borders, so the re-admission of Crimea and soon the Donbass and other Eastern and Southern areas of the Ukraine will be the ‘natural’ consequence…and ‘maybe’ more of the Ukraine too…
I am totally bemused by the large number of Ukrainians who are settling into rental properties in my district of London, some have approached me in hysterics, handling out leaflets, telling me how evil Putin is….they are baffled when i point out that they are deluded, to think they are now ‘safer’ in the very country that helped to destabilise the Ukraine in the first place…
So if more of these Ukronazis flee to western Europe, it looks like the ongoing depopulation of the Ukraine will make the denazification process easier for Russia !?
There was surprise for the separation of the Donbass and Crimea. Crimea and the Donbass in exchange for the coup!
What do you mean settling into rental properties?
Refugees taken in by Londoners for some cash?
And then doing leaflet petitions?
Are you really safer – how many of these are Banderites?
I expect major trouble when these parade the Wolfsangel.
And Her Majesty will certainly not be amused – show these newcomers the CH4 documentary :

McDonalds pulls out of Russia!
If Putin does not achieve anything else, then the retreat of a poison pusher should be seen as a great victory that will save thousands of Russian lives.
He just has to throw the rest of those Western poisioners out for a complete victory.
I wrote today and thank US Senator Hagerty from Tn., my State for joining with Sen. Rand Paul on stopping the 40 Billion dollar military aid to Ukraine. Hagerty agreed with Paul that there is no way we should send 40 Billion dollars to Ukraine without some oversight. I don’t want them to send at all. But hopefully this is a crack in the foundation of the support for war in Ukraine.
A great article
Good thinking being said on pro-Russian sites:
Why does Russia need Ukraine?
1. The economic and logistics complex from Kharkov to Odessa, including Lugansk, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Kherson and Nikolaev is inseparably connected with the industry of Russia and allows the supply of raw materials and products by rail and sea;
2. This super-region carries out serious power generation;
3. If the South-East of Ukraine is not reunited with Greater Russia, then the Russian Ukrainians will be destroyed, and the remnants will be turned into enemies of Russia;
4. Russia, having mastered the northern Azov and Black Sea regions, receives a gold share in world grain production, thereby consolidating food production in its hands and additionally ensuring its security;
5. The Sea of Azov becomes an inland Russian sea, which greatly simplifies its environmental protection, commercial use and navigation;
6. Russia cuts off NATO from the ports of the northern Black Sea region;
7. Russia reliably covers the western and southern borders;
8. The Russian Federation acquires a couple of tens of millions of citizens, among whom there is a high percentage of qualified specialists;
9. Russia receives territories with a favorable climate, which contribute not only to the development of the agro-industrial complex and heavy industry, but also have significant recreational potential and historical significance.

Excellent article by Pepe, Agree with his conclusions.
Thanks Pepe. Very illuminating article. I now have a better understanding of what Russia is doing in Ukraine.
Masterful. If Pepe did not exist we would have to invent him. Thanks saker team for this contribution.
So (presumably) Ukrainian CoS studied Russian strategy/tactics at college and deemed the MI6 Snake Island attack suicidal, but were overruled. Who is running the show now? Was the Azovstal surrender run by MI6 or Ukie CoS?
Who is running the show ?
NATO officers – been that way for at least 6 years
“a direct order issued by British ‘consultants’ to Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky”
Why does my government feel that it is able to issue a direct order to a foreign government?
Tradition, Old Boy, tradition. When I was a young PA to His Majesty’s Governor of Arabia, I witnessed the Governor giving King Saud a proper dressing down. Reminded me of the Headmaster at my old school.
The myth is there are “experts” in the US or UK or EU.
There are none.
Many so called elite institutions these days hand of degrees and doctorates to people in the old days would not have got one. And these are people getting employed.
Many Russia “experts” have never been to Russia or elsewhere.
Hence the incompetence that exists and why their shambles of a game plan will fail.
Don’t think the Russians know the Americans that well. They don’t. You know, you have to go to a high school in the U.S. to know the U.S. really well. You can compensate for this lack but you are kind of special if you can. (I went to high school in the U.S., ha, ha.) It’s not easy. Putin thinks he knows quite a lot, but he’s an obvious foreigner when he goes into deep explanations. He really shouldn’t. I have not seen one of them who should. On the other, it’s not like he’s obligated to know too much. All you need to know sometimes is if somebody pushed you.
I always wonder how long the US can maintain its military posture dependent on so much technical spending which seems solely dedicated to “extraordinary weapons profits for the western military-industrial complex.” I am not familiar with Russian military equipment organization, but in China, the PLA is in charge of everything; I suspect the Russians are similar. Thus, the US creates a nightmare of contractors and cost-plus manufacturers that insure these high profits without producing effective hardware, while their competitors accomplish much more with much less.
With the dollar-debt hegemony reducing (deficit spending and negative balance of payments has been covered by the sale of T-bills–see Michael Hudson’s Super Imperialism), will the American people be willing to step up taxes to cover the billions spent on the F-35 and other Pentagon fiascos?
It is impossible to refudiate the information in this article. Unless of course you’re in denial. Russia has outsmarted and outmaneuvered the US and all of the western European nations combined. Change is the only constant in the cycle of life and the era of US hegemony has reached its demise. It is as clear as the blue sky above. Thanks for an excellent article.
Wise advise to the Kremlin that needs to be listened to:
Let’s summarize briefly.
Mariupol is ours. Although they promised that we would take it for months.
Azovstal is ours. Although we were told about the catacombs in which they would sit for six months and a year.
Putin ordered that not a single fly fly over Azovstal on April 21. Today is May 16th. 25 days. This is less than the defense of the Brest Fortress, which lasted a month.
“Azov” failed to get out either with the help of the Pope or with the help of Eurovision. Not to Ukraine, not to Turkey – he went as a prisoner to the DPR.
That is, we have before us a pure Russian victory, and here it has been proved once again that it is not worth puffing up like a frog, threatening the Russians.
This should have ended if we weren’t dealing with absolutely unprincipled propagandists who, even from the exchange of one and a half cripples, will try to draw their absolute victory.
Therefore, I appeal to our government with a request – do not spoil the holy holiday of the capture of Mariupol for the Russian people, which we have been waiting for for a long 8 years (I remind you, be ashamed – it was you who, for the sake of the oligarchs, withdrew the troops who had already taken it from there) – do not arrange show-exchanges that Zelensky and Arestovich will try to present as their victory.
Let the Russian people in both the Russian Federation and the DPR enjoy a well-deserved victory.
You can also give salute. And the medal “For the Liberation of Mariupol” should also be established in the system of state awards of the Russian Federation, and not just the DPR.

It’s best to remember that during the Soviet days in the war there were methods for people to make complains about work issues. And that those complaints were taken seriously and investigated. A lot of design issues were corrected in that way. That needs to be brought back again (it never should have been stopped). Many times the workers are far more patriotic than their bosses are.Who are mostly interested in making a profit and looking good to their higher ups:
A subscriber from one of the design bureaus shared some interesting theses about the situation in our defense industry. To the discussion about how she has to work overtime now.
“I will write a thesis about the industry in which I have the honor to work, so as not to turn everything into an endless sheet. Can be applied to almost any industry with dual-use items.
1. Thanks to the holy nineties, we have an age gap (there are practically no people aged 60-40 in the profession). That is, today it is difficult to find an experienced specialist who, without a long preparation, will be able to get involved in the work and share his knowledge and experience with young recruits.
2. Today the situation is starting to return to normal. Many very young guys (up to 25 years old), under the guidance of more experienced specialists, are developing prototypes of products.
3. Most importantly, the guys see the embodiment of their drawings in hardware, and this is very motivating to develop new products and improve what has already been released.
4. Last year we have been working practically without days off. A 10-12 hour working day is considered normal for us. We work in this mode not because of coercion or monetary incentives, but because we know that our developments are needed and we cannot let down our Customers, who suddenly needed a lot of things and in a very short time.
5. From the sad. Our work is greatly hampered by a huge number of paper approvals. Often, representatives of the ordering party are not interested in the actual characteristics of the product, but the correctness of filling out acts, protocols and other undoubtedly important documents, and the presence of a nameplate with the name of the product.
6. We instill in our guys product support at all stages from paperwork to commissioning.
At the development stage – to interview the Customer, installers and related organizations about their wishes and recommendations.
At the manufacturing stage – live at the factory, but agree on the optimal manufacturing technology.
At the installation stage – become an installer yourself and understand all the pros and cons of your product.
At the commissioning stage – be on site and take into account all the requirements of the operation service.
To summarize briefly:
We are ready to develop any product, just explain what you need. You can’t write – draw, it doesn’t matter the main thing is to convey your requirements and wishes.
Reduce the number of paper reports and so the human resource is very limited.
We always give feedback on products. Criticism is normal and we are always ready to improve or rework the product for the convenience of the consumer.
We are ready to do everything for the greatness of our Motherland. As an employee of the design office, I now work 6.7 days a week and so many specialists. We will do everything in our power to provide our army with everything that depends on us.”
You are talking as if Russia had already won the conflict. It is a little early. Let us assume that Russia takes control of the Dombass, Novorussia and even some more, that does not mean that the crisis is over. Today there is no exit door to this conflict as Washington is not ready to sign an armistice but is searching how to enlarge this war. Washington wants to see Europe and Russia to destroy themselves mutually. I am pessimistic.
“the lack of an actual, cohesive Grand Strategy against Moscow.”
Billions committed without it – all betting that comparatively little Ukraine defeats Russia (maybe like Afghanistan defeated NATO, why not).
“On Operation Z, the Russians revel in total strategic ambiguity, which has the collective west completely discombobulated.”
It was unique to warn so much that Russia would invade Ukraine, with Russia denying it all along. It would have been better to take Russia’s word for it publicly (it makes things worse when you don’t give people a minimum of credibility). That Russia then invaded is discombobulating indeed. I think only the Saker was not surprised, predicting an attack as imminent when it really was. Maybe it was that a bear attacks if enticed to attack, but I’m like discombobulated regarding such a secret reason(s). It’s also unclear if the invasion warnings were meant to forestall the invasion or just announce it (or what). The invasion was then described as one of the finest feats of intelligence. There may have been some feats of that kind, but the public campaign about the invasion, with some dates given, sort of replaced any such feats. I think that Russia decided to attack weeks prior to the invasion. The Saker basically suggested this within a day or two after the invasion, noting that it had to have taken a lot of time to plan something like it. Their decision to invade must have been made around the time their top spy appeared in public speaking wildly (for me) and far ahead of everybody else about Ukrainian plans to invade the Donbass; the decision to invade was made around that time if not earlier – surely. The same person (the chills!) announced the other day that the U.S. and Poland have plans to take over some region in Western Ukraine (It could be the same thing as before).
“Moscow is spending way less than the NATO contingent in the Ukrainian theater. NATO has already wasted $50 billion – and counting – while the Russians spent $4 billion, give or take”
It would help the U.S. if it were publicized how much the Russians are spending for the same thing. I have not heard anything about “efficiency.” Such news would provoke comparisons and discussions.
.- Only after the war did the media cover the issue of the hypersonic weapons, but almost all if not all forgot to use the “hypersonic” word in their description. “Ayyy Raza!” they’d bellow loudly in Spanish for something like that (about themselves). That’s how some odious comparisons and questions were avoided (’twas painful to watch it).
Sorry,
it’s simply not working! Even if the collective west (CW) got completely trashed – politically economically and militarily – almost nothing would have been change afterwards. It’s not because the CW still would be in power in the same way as before the Russian-NATO war began, but, BUT (sorry for that) the aim of this war is NOT to get Ukraine into NATO or to encircle Russia/China a little bit more. Instead the aim is/was two folded:
1.
very less important, gaining some more ground (as in Finnland or Sweden) so to get these two european countries involved into 2.
2.
much more important, the Great Reset (as of Klaus Schwab). Exactly because the (western) economy is crashing the countries of the CW must be downed in a controlled manner, to keep the elites up. While Covid has been used to instigate the necessary legal instruments (laws, penalties …) the war is and will be used to initiate the collapse of the economy of the CW – and voilá, Russia is doing the US (Deep State) a big favor, btw spending some 4 or more bln and at the same time Europe is going down under – at the fault of Russia, of course, and NOT as the fault of the US.
I very much think that you are considerably exaggerating Byzantium by saying things like they followed a strategy based on an identity triad of Christianity, Hellenistic and Roman identities etc.
When one delves into the gritty details of Byzantine history, one finds out that they had no other strategy everyone playing everyone against each other and backstabbing when profitable. Inside and outside Byzantium. Not so much different than the ‘Perfidious Albion’ Britain. The term ‘Byzantine Intrigue’ was coined after the treachery and debauchery of those never-ending machinations.
One can only employ such tactics so far – when the gold or the boons that you can give to any group to have them do your bidding dries out, intrigues start to fail as well. Its no different from the Western financial system starting to dry out and the incentives that they offer to countries to betray other countries are no longer sufficient for countries to make them side with the Anglo-American West.
With all these Russians in foreign lands cheering on their ethnic brothers marching into their homelands, voting 90 odd % in referenda to join up with their kinsman, who after some rough times, now live in a nation on it’s uppers, a nation in the process of clearing out all the traitorous parasites, a nation rallying around a strong and competent leader, which for the first time since anyone can remember, tactually has a patriot in charge who cares for them. It reminds you of something.
And once again we have the same old battle between the corrupt rotton whores of international finance, vs a state that exists for the benefit of it’s people. And the the disgusting lying media is playing an identical role today as it did in the 1930’s.
Just got around to reading this article and noticed a glaring error in the section “Clueless CIA/Pentagon Experts”:
Avril Haines is NOT the head of the CIA. She’s the DNI aka Director of National Intelligence. William Burns, a former US ambassador to Russia and author of the famous “Nyet Means Nyet” memo, is the current director of the CIA.
I really think The Saker’s, Pepe’s followers are also being played by the Masters of Deception at the top, essentially the General of the Society of Jesus and all of his minions, from their headquarters at Borgo Santo Spirito Street, Rome (the Vatican). Pepe is a follower of Gramsci (a cultural marxist, allied with jesuitism) and Paolo Freire (Liberation Theology, a jesuit also). This ‘Collective West under the Russia’s boot’ thing is a pure illusion promoted by their agents infiltrated in the pro-Russian side (Hegelian dialectics) to produce a false sense of superiority and morally back the Russian intervention (a tool of the West…let’s say: the ‘internationalists’).
Even more: there are two ‘collectives’, the West and the East. Collectivization/Alienation (via neo-fascism, liberal fascism, capitalistic comunism, democratic socialism, etc., etc. -different expressions of the same monster-) is the shared goal for all the masses, and all the Elites of the world (jointed around the WEF scena) are in it together. We can consider that The Reform is over.
This UKR-RUSS war was long time ago designed and agreed upon (as a progression of previous events in Ukraine) to advance the main script of the Great Reset for the whole world, conveyed by the Loyola’s dogs as a result of its envisioned strategy for the culmination of the temporal and spiritual powers by the Pope (inclusive, ecumenical movement -‘universalism’, ‘cathos-licism’).
These formidable Soul Engineers control both/all sides of the same coin, after a highly disciplined work through the years (specially since 1798). This post-conciliar strategy was determined for the conformation of a One World Government, whose quick rising we are now seeing. Remember the famous JFK’s speech in 1961 through which Babylon 2.0 unveiled itself before an unexpecting masses, before sacrifing its first catholic US President as a ritual offered to the Deceiver.
So, do not put your faith in Putin/Lavrov, they are playing the role they were given at the top.
The Western children of Rome have intentionally downplayed, downgraded their capacibilities before the East side along the years since 1990 (cultural marxism on the military, woke culture on all layers of society, hyper-financialization, debt, abusive pharmakeia, inclusive/persuasive corona-nanotech inoculation/biomarking, etc.)
It is being done purposedly to facilitate the Great Reset on the Western (and the Eastern) masses, confirming the consolidation of a technocratic, ecodigital, pantheistic, anti-christian society presided and officed by the Pharaoh, the Pope.
In paralell, the Eastern Orthodox Church, specially the Russian one (inconvenient to the Vatican manifesto) are going to be merged/diluted within the collective China (the PPCH elite owes Rome its surge at the 40’s and its latter consolidation) and with the rest of the Eastern sub-collectives (the Indian one, the Central-Asia one, etc.)
This ‘transformational’ process is even clearly protraited at the Book of Revelations, in conjunction with the Book of Daniel. “…He that hath ears to hear, let him hear…”
‘On Operation Z, the Russians revel in total strategic ambiguity, which has the collective west completely discombobulated.
The Pentagon does not have the necessary intellectual firepower to out-smart the Russian General Staff ‘
MSN reports Russian Generals being fired and general incompetence please clarify as these two seem incompatible
