I just got through listening to the press conference of Merkel and Putin in Moscow.It was horrible.They both looked miserable,and uncertain in the answers.I think until they hash out their disagreements and agree to something.Having a press conference is a bad idea.
Absolutely agree. Merkel looks very nervous and like she have been forcibly to stay there…No inner peace in her only cold calculated actor….

My impression too, an all-round superficial event, purposeless.
The very final question by reporter Veronika Romanenkova of (ITAR-)TASS to Merkel was direct and simple enough (from 17:27): you and the leaders of other European governments have more than once criticized Russia for not fulfilling the Minsk agreements, stressing that if Moscow would not fulfill Minsk II, the possibility of new sanctions is not excluded —- clarify, please, which specific provisions do you have in mind and which sides of agreements are still not fulfilled.
And the only thing of note was how Merkel actually managed (!) to fill an entire 2 minutes and 8 seconds of a nauseating “it is a very complex situation” non-answer BS… I suppose, that’s what politicians are paid to do……….
He looked inpatient, she uncertain. My sense is he is getting tired of this.

Merkel is no longer a player in the top level game of hegemony. She operates in the lower level of EU versus Greece, EU versus UK. She is gatekeeper of Brussels.
That role belies the true condition of her colonial status. She serves the Empire.

Merkel made the following statements in Moscow:
1. “Separatists/rebels” are responsible for the breaking the most recent cease fire
2. Kiev regime must be allowed to take over border control and re-establish sovereignty over the entire country
3. Called for local elections
4. Called for humanitarian aid to reach all of Ukraine
Putin asked for:
1. Constitutional reform giving the republics autonomy
2. Called for removal of a economic sanctions against the breakaway republics
If this is truly what Merkel said then no wonder there was such a bad mood during the press conference…
It did appear that she was just spouting the Kiev line.In which case her visit was worthless.
