According to this, the Syrian army have captured the TOW missile crew that destroyed the helicopter at the time the SU-24 was shot down.

For me Dmitry is a favourite and he was in fine form today, upstaging even Mark. He has a very personable demeanour, good humour and an almost comical (nice comical) visage and accent but extremely detailed and hard-hitting information to impart. It’s always great to see Mark and Dmitry -and also Gilbert Doctorow on Crosstalk.

I also love Dmitry Babich and Mark Sleboda!
If I lived in Moscow, I would wish join these two for a tea and a talk from time to time.
If could come also Alexander Dugin and “Girkin” would be great!
      Flipante!, isn´t it?

And Dmitri is also well prepared, always with his notes in front of him. That shows that he has an idea where the discussion is going, or can lead it in the direction he wants.

Good show, I liked all three guests, plus Lavelle’s own contributions to the discussion. Granted; I’m leaning towards Mark position, I even put my hand up too almost at the same time he did :)

But, Peter really needs to stop interrupting Mark, he’s been doing that show after show, not only here. You can even hear Mark’s grunts of protest every time it happens. And who can blame him? If I was to be treated as an unruly school-boy who needs to be caned every time he strays off the accepted narrative, I would not only grunt in protest, I will eventually sucker-punch you on the throat.

There was another moment in the show I found significant; when Dmitry said: “Russia cannot be a global alternative to western stupidity“
…first; I don’t believe it’s “stupidity” as such, as much as it’s a Machiavellian form of out-right evil planning and then methodical implementation of those plans.
If the Hegemon was indeed “stupid,” we wouldn’t be in the situation we are right now and they wouldn’t be in control of what? 70 plus percent of the planet as they are!

Another reading would be; if the Hegemon is actually THAT “stupid,” what does that say about the IQ of the rest of the world if a stupid idiot can come along and rule over everybody with little effort beyond the power of their green printed toilet paper…

Nah! This type of narrative goes absolutely nowhere, IMHO (…unless you’re a fan of hiding behind a false sense of security).

Second; I actually do agree with Dmitry’s general sentiment on his statement: Russia shouldn’t have to be burdened with mopping-up after the mess the Hegemon leaves behind, others should step-up to the plate and throw their weight around too.
But! If Russia keeps treating her allies the way they’ve treated them for the last, say, 24 months… no wonder no-one wants to take up on the risk of helping with the mopping up… :/

Regarding Marks remark about Putin having his foot on the opponents throat and then stepping back and letting the opponent up – Perhaps more like a doctor who sees the patient stabilised and just keeps a finger on the pulse. Russian personal are on the ground supervising the ceasefire. No doubt negotiates are working with the groups that have agreed to the ceasefire and I would guess the Russian intel services are just as efficient as the military. On top of that the airbase is only 4-6 hours from cranking back up to full speed at any time.

I liked the show though. Never used to watch it when they always seemed to have the obligatory neo-con punching bag. Was a bit like watching a workout at the gym.

I agree with you here. I think we confuse the word “stupidity” with the word “evil”. Its not they are stupid, its they are evil. They aren’t making “mistakes”,the plans are to spread terror and chaos. The “cover” for that is to convince the World that its only that those things happen because they have made “mistakes”.It is true that they are also incompetent in many of their actions. But the majority of the problems don’t come from incompetence but from evil decision making. The horrors of Ukraine, and Syria hasn’t come from “stupidity or mistakes” its come from direct evil plans to use those countries against Russia in one case, and against Iran in the other. No matter the suffering of the peoples there. The “follow thru” shows a huge level of incompetence on their part. But the objectives themselves have worked for them. They have spread terror and chaos. And they have caused huge problems for Russia and Iran in those regions. The “blowback” is a problem for the West. But again that comes from incompetence and not just “stupidity and mistakes”.

I think stupidity here in terms of the “west” refers to the media and politicians that front for the decision makers. Once the Political/MSM animal is set in motion it takes awhile for the decision makers to get it realigned and sent in a new direction.

I think stupidity applies equally to the western public, because it does barely move finger to stop their own governments in creating chaos and misery. We are currently at a turning point – the chickens are coming home to roost.

Closer analysis will reveal that the ‘western public’, i.e. the common people, have zero chance stopping their ‘own government’, i.e. the Elites, oppressing them at will. Be it here or there, now or then.

But there is a difference. All peoples, all over the world, throughout history were aware of this very fact and used therefore their best hours of the day and all their joy of life to create, in close-knit networks, ‘people’s culture’ – music, dance, lingo, literature, healing arts, teaching skills, spiritual practices – as a counter force against the Elite’s ultimately deadly, synthetic culture.

But, alas, we contemporaries have lost this wisdom almost completely and have handed over everything to the ‘stars’, ‘experts’, ‘police’, ‘doctors’. This is our unforgivable mistake.

Let’s turn the tide right now. Because we are the ones we have been waiting for.
