NATO leaders have agreed to deploy thousands of troops in Poland and the Baltic states in a bid to strengthen the 28-nation alliance’s eastern borders in Europe against Russia.
The Western military alliance announced on Friday that it will move four 4,000-strong battalions into northeastern Europe on a rotating basis to display its readiness to support Eastern European member states against the so-called Russian aggression.

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – NATO takes command of a US-built missile shield in Europe, after France won assurances that the multi-billion-dollar system would not be under Washington’s direct control.
The missile shield, billed as a defense against any alleged strike against European cities, is one of the most sensitive aspects of the United States’ military support for Europe. Russia says the system is in fact intended by Washington to blunt its nuclear arsenal, which the US denies.
