some articles comparing this to the Donald Cook in 2014
i have to wonder – pretty weird these events happening in the same area.
either-way they seem to be in pretty bad shape these days, the core is rotten and flows to all extremities.

I served as a deck officer in the US Navy back from 1958-60. We had rather primitive radar that could accurately plot the courses of ships in the area, plus lookouts on port and starboard sides of the bridge mostly having field glasses. In congested waters a lookout on the bow as well, connected by phone to the bridge.
I think some people today are standing around scratching their a**es and or j***king off rather than paying attention!

Perhaps the ram will make a comeback, to deal with usn arrogance about right of way?

Actually, many merchant and naval vessels employ what is called a bulbous bow, which superficially resembles the old warship ram structures of the 2nd half of the 19th century. This hull form reduces resistance, means less hp needed, and saves fuel.

One look at the collision point on the port side of the latest US naval vessel shows the curvature of the nose bulb. Sad to say there was a loss of life in that one. For this to happen either the US ship was to starboard and had right of way or a sudden dangerous crossing was instigated for some reason or other. Ships astern and over taking must give way. Ships meeting head on or nearly must alter course to starboard (right) and pass port to port, like in driving in North America. As per the ‘International Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea.’

The US ship did not have right of way. The ‘starboard’ rule is always superceded by the ‘give way to larger vessels’ rule. That rule exists because of laws of physics. It can take a large ship several miles to come to a halt. The USN ships are designed for speed and maneouverability.

The neocon central radio show – John Batchelor Show- had a segment on a short time ago (wish I could find it now) that talked about China and/or Russia having the ability to put false readings on a ships screen. He hasn’t talked about it since the USS MaCain incident.

When a country has a for profit military, profit is and always will be the priority.
How many ships have experienced crashes or serious issues ? It is not only ships, there have been helicopters falling out of the sky on and off the mainland of the US, fighter jets being grounded and many other failures .
It seems that each time another crash or issue happens, Americans immediately begin speculating if not outright accusing another country or the infamous “TERRORIST” of attacking. The ONLY “TERRORIST” involvement
comes from those terrorist sitting in Congress and in the DC think tanks making millions from their personal investments in the MIC. These are the people signing off on using cheaper materials in order to increase their own profits.
This country has a history of ignoring the needs of the human element of the military. On and off the battlefield. Why expect anything to change now ? The USG claims to be broke, unable to provide even the basic medical care for the veterans, yet continues to send the Zionist
State over 10 million per day. Who BTW, not only provides excellent care for it’s veterans, but provides excellent medical and education for it’s citizens !
