Dear friends,
I just wanted to share with you the news that Igor Strelkov has made a truly historical press conference. For those understanding Russian, please see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUQeJHqNZFs
As soon as I get a translation or, better, a subtitled video I will post it here.
At this point I will only say that his statements are both very powerful and very subtle and a very careful analysis of his statements needs to be made. What is certain is that this will rock the Russian political scene in a most positive way. Great news!!
Stay tuned and kind regards,
The Saker

Just looking at the twitter comments on this, I’d guess that Putin has found a new weapon in his ongoing war against the Russian 5th column: Strelkov.
Needless to say, this has far-reaching implications not only for the future of Russia, but for the West as well. This will be fascinating to watch unfold.

#Strelkov: “You can’t think up more shameful agreements than those that were made in Minsk.”
12:03 PM – 11 Sep 2014
Very powerful speech. Strelkov also proved he sees The Big picture of geopolitics (unlike some here assumed).
Interesting detail, although Strelkov clearly stated the ceasefire protocol benefits Ukies and made situation worse for Novorossia, at the same time he refused to blame Putin who pushed for this ceasefire, again it shows deep understanding of geopolitics.
Putin’s duty is to look after Russia’s interests first and foremost, therefore he has to carefully balance its interests (and Novorossia’s) while under intense pressure of West and pro-West oligarchs and 5th column. Putin sometimes has to make compromises at the expense of Novorossia, but at the same time there would be no survival of Novorossia if not Russia and Putin is the best leader they could hope for. There is a war going against Russia, and you dont overthrow the leader (even bad one) as it plays into the hands of enemies, what to speak of Putin, who is the only great leader Russia has at the moment. Thats why Strelkov bit the bitter pill of ceasefire and insisted opposition to Putin will make matters worse.
I read Cassad using Google Translate and it’s not clear at all.
Is Strelkov saying that Kiev will start their offensive very soon and Russia is preparing for war?
Any substance to the reports that Kiev has blocked or is about to block Russian gas passing through Ukraine?
How close would that be to an act of war???
Cassad has written up his take. Unfortunately, the auto-translation leaves much of the understanding still opaque. His prediction for tomorrow is worth repeating, though.

“…In this respect, noteworthy is the information obtained about the fact that tomorrow is very likely to launch a massive offensive junta, in addition to the regular package of sanctions from the EU, affecting the Russian oil and gas sector. Simultaneously, the far East troops are in full combat readiness and begins checking the troops of the district and administrative structures in the situation of the war. So to say, incite drama.”

I found a beaufifull speach of Oleg Tsarjov,”What Novorossia is” on the serbian website Vesti. I was touched to the tears, because it is full of noble words and ideas, and after that I felt myself a citizen of Novorossia, more than ever.Novorossia is trully a revolutionary idea, a new relation to the world and to the man, that reject money at the periphery of our lives. Brotherhood, solidarity, faith, sacrifice, will be the leading ideas of this new world.
It would be worth to translate in english Tsarjov words.

“Former Minister of defense of the Donetsk national Republic Igor Strelkov believes that the blame for the collapse on the territory of Ukraine Malaysian Boeing lies in Kiev.
“I don’t know who was hit by a Boeing, I was in charge of the armed forces, and the investigation must engage in special organs. However, my own view is that Boeing was hit by the Ukrainian side. They sent a plane in the area, has created all the conditions for churning Boeing,” said he, speaking today at a press conference in Moscow, reports Reuters with a reference to “Interfax”…

This is where the info on Russian Far East mobilising! 100,000 is surely a lot for an exercise! Looks like Putin’s making a very subtle sabre rattling warning that what he did with Russian Far East he can also do in Europe.
http://rt.com/news/line/2014-09-11/#70464
Military exercise in Russia’s Far East to involve over 100,000 servicemen
More than 100,000 servicemen will be engaged in an ad hoc inspection of combat readiness of the troops of Russia’s Eastern Military District, Itar-Tass news agency said. The exercises embrace four armies, the 3rd Command of the Air Force and Air Defense Troops, the command of the Pacific Fleet and the command of Strategic and Military Transport Aviation. The inspection was ordered by President Vladimir Putin early Thursday. It envisions participation of the combat planning and control agencies of the military district, separate armies and brigades, mechanized infantry and reconnaissance units, signal corps and logistics units, ships, submarines and auxiliary maritime craft, according to General Nikolay Bogdanovsky, the chief of the inspection group
He stressed his support for Putin against 5th column inside Russia. But the thing is that this interview wasn’t aired on any Russian TV, except small part where he says that in his opinion Boeing was shot down by Kiev regime. Moreover media didn’t even show big plan, so portrait of Putin behind Strelkov remained invisible for TV viewers. So majority of Russians even unaware of what he actually said, I doubt that “Russian political scene” will be somehow significantly affected by this statement.

A couple days ago I posted this article that mentions this new role:

” The ex-Minister of defence DND Igor Strelkov said that he had decided to focus on countering the emergence of ” color revolutions ” in Russia, reports “Ukrainu”.
“I think Maidana and chaos can spread across borders of Russia from the burning of the civil war in Ukraine,” said the former head of the army of the people’s Republic.
To this end Shooters is going to combine the left and right forces. Soon he will hold a press conference, where they will talk about their future activities.
Igor Strelkov (Gerkin) is FSB Colonel, retired. A native of Moscow in the winter of 2014 arrived in the Crimea, where he organized a militia to counter Kiev. In the spring he went to lead the rebels in Donetsk region. According to Strelkova, after the resignation of all its decisions he had made herself.
14 August Girkin resigned as defense Minister DND and went to a one-month vacation. It was assumed that the captain will perform new tasks on the territory of the new Russia”.

The NAF still dont have enough men to cover its flanks. They could probably have gone to kiev but they would not survive. Maybe its better to keep your military intact than waste it. We clearly saw what what that does with Hitler.. On the other hand we also saw what untrained recruits are worth with the Japanese. They might be ready to die and all and well they did. The mighty japanese army was not even able to put up much of a fight when the USSR attack them in china at the end of WW2. And they used the experienced troops to commit suicide to hold onto barren islands. In the end both countries had wasted their best troops for no advantage. Imagine if they had kept those troops from just throwing their lives away. They would not have won the war but they would have got some surrender conditions in their favor and not have to be uncle sam’s bitches for the next 100 years.
President Obama admitted a few weeks ago in a White House meeting that Crimea is “gone,” the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee said Thursday.
“I was in a meeting in the White House a few weeks ago, and the president was giving us a synopsis of the problems around the world, and I said, ‘You didn’t mention Crimea. Is that just gone?’ And the basic answer was, ‘Yeah, that’s gone,’” Rep. Buck McKeon, R-Calif., told an audience at the American Enterprise Institute.
I am trying to zero in who would be so powerful and close to the office of presidency that it’s role of “fift column” would go unnoticed and could act behind Putin’s back.
So far only Surkov. Anyone else has someone im mind?
Lexx,
Don’t worry, this is just the opening salvo. Beside, a political scene is not normally shaken up based on the number of viewers of something on TV. This is in the context of a war on Russia. Just sanctions for now, but those are just meant to weaken Russia’s position to go in for the kill later. Same with the Donbass. The issue is gaining control of Russia and breaking it up.
Obama’s Broad Coalition Cracks – UK, Germany Won’t Support Airstrikes In Syria
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/11/2014 – 11:59
Well that didn’t take long. After espousing his strategy last night of leading a broad coalition against ISIS, it appears President Obama’s “allies” are backing away from the plan. As The WSJ reports, Germany and the U.K. on Thursday ruled out carrying out air strikes on Islamic State militants in Syria. It appears the Europeans, realizing the ire that these actions will likely cause to Putin, are stepping back – “We haven’t been asked, nor will we do it,” German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier told reporters and his U.K. counterpart Philip Hammond explicitly ruled out air strikes in Syria, after the U.K. parliament struck down such a move last year. So that leaves the French?

Most of the government headed by Medvedev. To this you can add a lot of influential officials of the city of Moscow and assorted regional officials. Then, most of the media, a non trivial part of the top ministries officials, big bosses of the defense and energy sector, etc. etc. etc. Oh, and bankers, of course, and bought and paid for Duma members. Any many more people.
You have to understand that from 1991 (and even before that) the Russian 5th columnist have been around and trying hard to sell Russia out. All that is absolutely true. What people are missing is that this is changing right now since Putin took the reigns of power.
But yes, the 5th columnists are still very much there.

What can be done to all these scumbag traitors? I can only imagine how much leaching has been done, how much blood, talent and resources were demolished in Russia since 1917 and then 1991.
I have just listened to the preliminary translation and I actually clapped at the end of his speech, only to be chastised ‘no need for that’!
What a mensch!
There really has been a lot of stuff going on behind the visible and hidden military activity relating to the NAF. Dealing with all that and creating conditions for the 5th columnists to expose themselves is something else.
Now, expose the traitors, once and for all.

Wow, regarding lyashko shooting it out with the NazGuards. I’ve been wondering how long it would take before they just pop each other off. I was kind of daydreaming that first maybe Kolomoyski, and then maybe Timoshenko and Yatsy teams can start popping each other off, and then the Nazi’s can finish of Poroshenko, and then anyone who’s left will run and hide, and then the EU can ask Novorusia Rebels to please surround the nazi’s and starve them out. One can dream.
Dear Saker,
I have read the comments. Well before the demise of the Soviet Union, Trotskym was the 5th column. Trotsky himself married to the daughter of infamous bankster Jacob Schiff, lived in NY and left usa with usaian passport to participate inthe bolshevik revolution. According to Red Symphony, which reviews the interrogatory to Rashevsky, the former Soviet ambassador to France, Kerensky himself was on board the conspiracy. All this is well documented and known. Several books have been published, revealing the linkage to the ascenssion of the nazis to power. So, when the scheme to break the USSR unraveled, a fifth column already comprised komsommol elements, which later would become the new bred oligarchs. On the other hands, according to yourself, exists a deep state which very much works related to the kremlin, working to ensure the survival of Russia, uncontrolled by the 5th column. We have seen it acting in Crimea, and we are witnessing it in supporting NR. Needless to say, but worth saying anyway, Strelkov is its most visible element. As things stand, it is clear that either the 5th column is surpressed or curtailed, or Russia collapses.
TINA (there is no alternative).

Strelkov conflates the comrades of ’17, who were Russian and fought for Russia, with Ukr wreckers. That is asinine.
===============================
Yeah, they fought so much for Russia that ended up killing directly several millions of Russian, starving to death tens of millions more, enslaving the rest under an atheist regime of terror and destroying the Russian Empire in a flash.
Strelkov is one of the few understanding that the forces behind the “comrades” and their agenda, in 1917 and today, are EXACTLY the same!
Asinine? I’ll not label those who still don’t (or won’t) understand this very simple fact because, frankly, words are missing.
Stupid or liars, don’t matter…. they both share the responsiblity for the human misery and sufferings!
Damn! I wish I could speak Russian! I’ll wait until the subtitled version comes out.
Also I highly recommend this article from Prof. Michael Hudson on the IMF, and Ukraine.
http://michael-hudson.com/2014/09/losing-credibility-the-imfs-new-cold-war-loan-to-ukraine/
Strelkov isn’t making a lot of sense on the most important point, the Minsk ‘Protocols’. He doesn’t like it, agreed. But then he goes onto endorse Putin, the author of the Protocols! Don’t think that the two new chaps in Donetsk and the fellow from Transnystia aren’t following direct orders from the Kremlin, as did the Russia’s Designate in Minsk.
Also who was it that didn’t intervene to save Slavyansk?
One of the games ‘Leaders’ play is to not take responsibility for decisions they take that are unpopular with some of their supporters by creating an air of ambiguity about who was responsible for those decisions.
Is Strelkov nieve or still FSB?

The same people who tell me this have been lying as long as I’ve been alive. Oh, but when it comes to the Bolshies they are suddenly telling the truth.

Thanks for posting the video, however, I am still unable to view any videos from you now. The right click memo which I used to use to copy video URL is no longer working. The menu at bottom does not show up so can’t choose cc option nor the YouTube option. I only have this issue on your site. Nowhere else. Hope your new blog shows videos better.
But thanks to Anonymous 15:10 I was finally able to view Strelkov’s speech. He is a heroic figure in my opinion.
And yes, he is telling us that the Bolsheviks are still there right? Undermining Putin and his policies in their fury. So glad that they are having the light shine on them.
It becomes clear why Medvedev did nothing to help Libya.
Russia is in danger.
this is truly evil against good.
I am afraid not only for Russia, but for the world. Look what they did to Milosevic. To Gadafi, to Sadam. They know no bounds. It is 99% sure for me, that they infected Chavez. I believe it is a mistake to view these atrocities as isolated and not relevant to today’s fights. Good news that UK and Germany are not going to participate in air strikes on Syria.
thanks for your hard work.

I have the same problem. I can’t watch videos inside Firefox because I run an exotic OS on which Flash crashes, so I have to watch them with a video player.
In Firefox, if you right-click inside a Web page, you will see the command “View page source”. You can then search the source for the string “youtube”, and should be able to find the url of the video. But this is a hassle. Hopefully the new blog won’t have this problem.
Mr.Strelkov is a very brave man and Mr.Putin is a smart cookie at these terrible times.
US very badly need to get one of this Mr.Strelkov / I’m sure they have, just he need to stand up as soon as possible! /to stand up for every single American and destroy the 5th column operating in US too, it is operating in US for a very, very long time.

Any russian speaking know about “. Russian internet users across the country watched videos of army mothers and wives covering their wet-with-tears faces with both hands, begging Putin to free their loved ones “in God’s name””?
Saker,
Here is a great analysis by the system dynamics thinkers at The Automatic Earth.
http://www.theautomaticearth.com/debt-rattle-sep-10-2014-crisis-and-self-determination/
It uses the story of future invasion of Scotland by England to prevent independence as a starting point to discuss the situation in Novorussia where the US illegally created a coup. The article goes into detail on the and the legal basis for separation and self determination.
Feel free to incorporate the information into a blog post of your own. I only post to add information to the argument against fascism and US style globalism in general.
I would add that devolution of nation states into euro-regions where cultural norms are respected is what European leaders claim that they strive for. See Jeremy Rifkin’s book “The European Dream” for an in-depth analysis. The situation in Novorussia and soon Catalonia serves to prove that this was a false promise.
I just want to post here a video of Zbig’s address to the Wilson Center filmed by CSpan on June 16 this year.
Lots of lies are being propagated at this conference, and very difficult to watch these criminals put on their show, but I just want to point out what Zbig states at around 1:00:40 where [to me] he is overtly suggesting that Putin needs to be taken out. That the only way their goals could be realistically achieved is if, one way or another, Putin is “out of the picture”.
Some of you might label me kooky or conspiracy theorist over this, but nevertheless, I just can’t help it….this was one month before July 17 and we all know that Putin’s plane was flying parallel to the MH17 on that day.
It is worthwhile to watch the whole thing.. very revealing as to how determined they are to dismantle and destroy Russia and we can see hatred for Russia oozing out of every pore of Zbig’s being. He wants to see this happen before he leaves the planet. The loss of Crimea has really put a bee in his bonnet.

Musings:
What was the mission of the Estonian spy “kidnapped in Estonia” (clearly caught in Russian territory)? FSB knew that he was sent and was waiting for him. Remember 2008, Russians had ears in Estonia and there is no reason to believe that there are not still there. Had his mission any relation to the 5th column that Strelkov alludes to? Preparing the ground for the “protests against the electoral frauds” in the upcoming elections?
On the other hand Putin has to concentrate on the resumption of the offensive for “regime change in Syria”, for the inevitable apparition of ISIS in Caucasus, possibly attacks by ISIS against Iran.

Christine,
Zbig is directly responsible for the 40-plus-years devastation of Afghanistan, the birth of Al-Qaeda, 9/11, and the deaths of 8k Americans in recent wars. We could even legitimately blame him for the rise of the ISIS.
He is a war criminal writ large, on par with the worst genocidal maniacs the world had ever seen. The fact that he is not doing all of the killings in person doesn’t absolve him of his deeds.
His obsession with Russia is well known, but his activities inflict most of the damage on America.
Just as Russia cannot be destroyed by anyone but the Russians themselves, America’s fate is ultimately decided by the Americans only. Brzezinski’s actions – as well as those of other Beltway parasites and con men – weaken the US, even though they are packaged in a deceptive patriotic rhetoric.
@corvo re: Newsweek
I ran into that. It was surreal with some fairly interesting graphics. The story made about as much sense as Obama’s speech last night. There were assertions that made no sense and nothing like real proof. When do you ever hear special forces troops whining about engaging the enemy. This is why they join. It’s their calling. Total nonsense.

“You have to understand that from 1991 (and even before that) the Russian 5th columnist have been around and trying hard to sell Russia out.”
There is no new cold war as the old cold war never finished – it wasn’t cold or with constant opponents.
The antidote to the 5th column always existed and exists silumtaneously, however the application and dosage needed/ needs to be introduced/monitored judiciously, as in chemotherapy to protect the growth of healthy cells.
Levels of ambient pollution are less outside Moscow and St. Petersburg – more fresh air.
Strelkov heavily exaggerates influence of the 5th column on Putin’s decision making. Where were the mighty traitors when Khodorkovski was arrested? Where was their power when Putin opposed invasion to Syria? What their got for their masters when Crimea was liberated? Why they even couldn’t stop humanitarian convoy to Luhansk?
Current “ceasefire” gives no substantial advantage for Junta or NATO. It’s not Hitler’s “haltbefehl” before gates of Dunkerque. 24th August’s offensive far exceeded its planned goals and some stabilization was necessary. Even now are in deep rear of Novorossiya some unfinished cauldrons. Donetsk airport is still occupied. Could you imagine feelings of terrorized Donetsk citizens (and soldiers too) if DNR army fighted for Mariupol or Zaporozhie, leaving these bandits in DNR and LNR capitals still alive and killing civilians?
Strelkov is obviously longing for early liberation of “his” Slavyansk and overreacts every obstacle or delay preventing quick achievment of this goal.
@Demian 21:21
thanks so very much for your response.
Truth is I don’t use an exotic OS. I use Windows 8.0 and have resisted all prompts to update to 8.1
I use Firefox browser, which up until the last week or so did not give me any Shockwave Flash issues. This only happens on the Saker’s site. No other site, so I do not believe it is a Mozilla issue. I have reinstalled my Flash plugin several times, but the issue is the same. But like I said only on the Saker’s blog.
Let’s hope the new blog does not have this issue. Videos were always a little “klunky” on this blog, but no problem for me long as I could right click and obtain the URL….
But I like the solution you gave which is to pull up the source page, so I will certainly try that. Kudos

Not only Trotsky, but Khrushchev was also part of 5th column. It is the task given to the 5th column by the AngloZionist plutocracy to dismantle Soviet Union – NOT BECAUSE SOVIET UNION WAS HARSH & INHUMAN (so to say) BUT BECAUSE IT WAS AGAINST WORLD-DOMINATION OF 1% ANGLO-ZIONIST PLUTOCRACY.

No, you are not conspiracy theorist- actually, 99% people can’t even estimate/understand what is going on since onset of industrial revolution around 1750. Since then the 1% plutocracy is wrecking havoc across the globe, destroying the 99% peoples’ livelihood and happiness, smashing the ecology of the mother earth, eliminating truly people-oriented leaders, and DOING EVERYTHING CROOKED TO CONTROL POLITICAL POWER & ECONOMY of all countries in the world. You are dot on the subject.

Not only Zbig, but ALL MEMBERS OF BILDERBERG GROUP HAVE PATHOLOGICAL HATRED against any leader anywhere in the globe who stands for his/her 99% people and hence, stand against the 1% plutocracy who, for last 2 centuries is represented by AngloZionist Elites. @Crossvader 03:44
Yes Crossvader, agree with all you say…and more. [just one caveat below]
I hope that you did take the time to watch his presentation on that video. You would need to have a barf bag handy.
He talks about giving Ukies hand held “defensive” weapons, as not being useful for offensive measures, nor to be used against Russia, and not even necessarily to be used by the Ukie military, but that civilians could use these types of weapons very effectively.
This is exactly the method he used in Afghanistan with the mujahideen there. He even brags how he could “regal” those present with tales of how these were used in Grozny. I would say he is the most evil personality I have witnessed in my lifetime. He obviously is so proud of his “achievements” and the successful outcome of striking a blow to the USSR, that he believes he can do this whole scenario again. It is up to the military and political leaders now [eg Russia and China] to prove him wrong.
and of course they were very successful in Yugoslavia.
War criminal is actually too kind a term referring to him.
I am of the opinion that all these warmongers who allow themselves to be *seen* by the public…are in reality just “front men”, doing the dirty work for others higher up the ladder who maintain their anonymity, and I wonder who are the puppet masters behind him pulling the strings? I can’t remember now who said it: “If you can see them in public, then they are not really in charge”. You will never be allowed to see the real “bosses”.
Rockefeller? It was he and David Rockefeller who founded the Trilateral Commission together…..Rothschild?
Whoever they are, they will never show their sleazy selves to be seen by the public. Still, this is a role he has taken on with a great deal of pleasure so I do not wish to minimize his culpability and so he is still responsible [AND EVIL] and deserves as much punishment as the world can deliver to him, but he will likely kick the bucket before the world has the chance…ditto for Cheney [with his Darth Veder heart] and Bush Sr and Jr., Netanyahoo and Porky…the list is pretty extensive. Just wish there was a way to expose who really controls him/them.
[Caveat]: As far as blaming nations for their own misfortunes. I don’t agree. We have been witnessing covert intervention and abuse of the sovereignty of nations all along. Russia was tricked in 1917. By outside forces. Wall Street Bankers and the like. and yes by the Rothschilds whose family swore revenge upon the tsars. Yugoslavia was tricked and the Ukraine crisis is a mirror reflection of that travesty. I could go on. El Salvador, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Chile, Cuba, Philippines, Honduras, Egypt, Lebanon, South Africa….even Iran before their revolution and Saudi Arabia ….King Faisal….this list is too long to go on, but I am sure you know the list.
I am one of the crazies who believes that Lawrence was assassinated because he loved the Arabs and planned to warn them of the plans to subjugate them. Hence his motorcycle accident in the country in the UK.
All of these nations were tricked. Their corrupt leaders bought and paid for. Read John Perkins …”Economic Hit Man”.
So, [to me] Americans are not responsible…they are clueless victims and Russians were not responsible for the horrors inflicted upon them.
Who are those Shadow Criminals really in control?
I try to control my anger,…..very difficult.

“Not only Zbig, but ALL MEMBERS OF BILDERBERG GROUP HAVE PATHOLOGICAL HATRED against any leader anywhere in the globe who stands for his/her 99% people and hence, stand against the 1% plutocracy who, for last 2 centuries is represented by AngloZionist Elites.”
Yes yes and yes. Thank you. There is a core group of leaders at the top of the Bilderberg Group who pull most of the strings. And while there are some inner squabbles between the different factions, they are very clever in uniting as one unit to achieve their goals.
I also agree that it goes back to 1750…when I first began reading Dickens, I was simply horrified at the conditions of the population in England. Was this by design? I would ask myself. Now, I am 100% sure that yes, this was by design, and we are on the way [they hope] to revert to that kind of oppression. Worldwide. A good author to read about this is Douglas Reed. He wrote extensively about zionist trickery, but he also described the way in which the average Englishman was abused.
So. Are you an American Indian, or an Indian Indian?
Not that it would make that much difference to me just curious and appreciating your sage comments :)
Take care and thx for yr comments,
Christine
