Paul Schmutz Schaller for The Saker Blog
Introduction
From a global point of view, the most important political question is certainly whether you stay on the side of the USA/Western hegemonism or whether you stay on the side of China, Russia, Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, or, in short, of a post-Western world. Once this question is decided, the next problem today is obviously – as I see it in Switzerland – that of your position towards the political situation in the USA. Simply put, are you for Trump or for Biden? Be aware that I discuss this question from outside the USA; I am not interested in something like „who is my president“.
First of all, this concerns a contradiction within the enemy camp. Both sides in the USA are utterly hostile to the development of a post-Western world. Both sides cannot even imagine that the USA should just be a normal country like others, with their strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, it would be completely wrong to identify with one side against the other.
This being said, one should not underestimate the contradiction inside the enemy forces. This is not just a show. The US society is really divided and nobody can realistically expect that this will end with the elections in November. So, one can conclude that there are crucial things at stake. It is essential to understand the contradictions in order to better understand the development in the enemy camp. Only with such an understanding, one will be able to possibly decide which side is the lesser evil.
Here is another introductory remark. Presently, the situation is rather confusing and paradox. On the one hand, the political situation inside the USA is quite explosive and one would expect that new ideas emerge. But neither side proposes something innovative, not even something dynamic. Neither side seems to be up to date. Trump intends to continue his program while Biden just proposes old wine in (not even) new bottles. This might be a clear sign that the ruling class in the USA is getting ponderous and unimaginative. On the other hand, it is not excluded that some surprises will happen during the next months; they even may severely change the situation.
The West is Outdated as a Model
The Western model is based on so-called liberal democracy, Western understanding of human rights, worldwide economical power by big Western companies, domination of the banking system – using among other things the dollar, the World Bank, and the IMF – and the military power of the US army and the NATO. A big ideological influence, including Western dominated media and film production, has to be added. Intentionally, I do not speak here of the damages, the Western countries have caused to the world through colonialism, massacres, slavery, imperialist wars, brutal oppression, murders, sanctions.
Obviously, the Western model is declining. „Everybody“ speaks of the 21st century as the Asian century. All trends show that Asia will become – and by far – the continent with the strongest economy. And it is already clear that the Western model does not play – and will not play – a central role in Asia. Therefore, there is not only an economical shift to Asia, the shift is much deeper. All countries will have to adapt to this shift. In my eyes, this is the underlying reason for the contradictions in the ruling class of the USA.
From this point of view, the Trump’s approach is quite logical. Namely, try to strengthen US influence in important Asian countries, for example in India. Base the US politics less on Western Europe, use NATO more as a disciplining instrument, than as a direct military threat. Try to expand the narrow frame of the G7 (in alphabetical order: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, USA) in order to improve the own battle line against China. Incidentally, Trump called – quite correctly – the G7 a „very outdated group of countries“ which does not „properly represents what’s going on in the world“.
As a consequence, Trump is very unpopular in the countries of Western Europe. The latter feel that they are like expelled from paradise by Trump’s approach. Until now, they are not able to admit the shift to Asia and to openly discuss the consequences. Their nostalgic feelings remain too strong. The center-left political parties in particular vehemently defend the – outdated – Western model and keep their pathological idea of the moral superiority of the West. Here is a recent example from Switzerland. The economy minister planed to make his first foreign visit after the pandemic to China, surely a very clever idea; the Social-Democratic Party – of course – criticized this plan. Unfortunately, the plan had to be canceled due to the existing anti-pandemic measures in China.
As I said, the Trump’s approach has objective reasons. However, during his presidency, he was not really successful. His aim to unite other Asian countries against China and Iran is not logical and is a failure. Apparently, there are not many hardliners and warmongers among the Asian countries. While there are of course deep disagreements between Asian countries, their intention to fight wars is not very enthusiastic. Moreover, the existing war against Syria as well as the existing war against Yemen turn out to be shameful defeats for the attacking countries.
North Korea was Trump’s first try to unite Asian countries against a common „enemy“. But it became clear that a war against North Korea had too few support in East Asia. With respect to North Korea, Trump was able to change his politics (but not consequently enough). With respect to China and Iran, he has not showed similar flexibility. This is a crucial weakness of Trump’s approach. His aggressive attitude is not welcomed in most Asian countries.
Biden’s ideas about these subjects are not very clear. As a tendency, he is closer to the nostalgic feelings of Western Europe. He seems to see it as a virtue to be more anti-Chinese and anti-Russian than Trump. But Biden’s ideas about Asia remain very foggy. He probably thinks that it is sufficient to be noticed as anti-Trump.
As a conclusion, I would say that Trump’s general approach to world politics is more rational than Biden’s. But Trump’s approach cannot be a success as long as he tries to rush Asian countries against each other.
The Western Model Inside the USA
While the worldwide decline of the Western model can be observed for quite a while now, it is relatively new that this model is also more and more outdated in the USA. Objectively speaking, the US society is much more an oligarchy than a liberal democracy. The direct influence of money on politics is much bigger in the USA than in Western Europe. This is quite well known. But what is a rather new development, is the fact that the losing side – in 2016 – did never accept the defeat. This does not correspond to the model of liberal democracy. The probability is very high that this trend will continue after the elections in November.
With his rhetoric against the Washington’s political establishment, Trump is nearer to the reality than the other side. But what he concretely wants, remains quite unclear. We can see a similar picture as with world politics. Again, the Trump’s approach is more rational, but is not really convincing in its execution. Biden’s approach is more based on illusions and is not helpful for the understanding of the changing US society.
The evolutions of the last months have accentuated the problems of the US society. The ultra individualism and the broad missing of social security have proved to be huge obstacles for a successful fight against the pandemic. The image of the USA has suffered a big blow in Western Europe during this crisis.
An important economic recession is the consequence of the pandemic. Moreover, there are these social unrests which usually – but very imprecisely – are described as the „Black lives matter“ movement. How will the US society – as a divided society – be able to manage these challenges? This question will certainly dominate the political discussion in the USA during the coming months. A satisfactory solution will be far from easy, also since somebody like F.D. Roosevelt is not available. What will be the result? We can only speculate. I would say that probably, the inner conflicts in the US society will escalate further. It is even possible that the Western model will be formally changed, at least in some points.
In this context, I would like to add some comments concerning the question of a coming collapse of the USA. By the way, I doubt that an empire can collapse. The examples which come to my mind, are not in this sense. Rome was invaded by foreign troops. Napoleon was beaten by other European powers. The Nazis were defeated by the troops of the USSR and allied countries. The British empire was overpowered by anti-colonial struggles and by the fact that – after World War II – USA and USSR were stronger. The USSR was superseded by a number of independent states as a result of political decisions. This seems to indicate that empires may well lose power, but are replaced by other, already existing, forces.
When I hear of a coming collapse of the USA, the replacing forces are never mentioned, as far as I know. It gives me the impression that the USA can just break apart like porcelain dishes. There might be some examples for this in human history, but it is certainly not the rule. In my eyes, concentrating on a coming collapse is dangerous. One should always ask who will follow. At the moment, I cannot see positive forces who could succeed in the USA to the US empire. However, generally speaking, things can always get worse. If there is more and more chaos in the USA, the danger that worse groups come to power is much bigger than the contrary. So, this discussion about a coming collapse of the USA is quite careless. In some sense, it reminds me of an attitude some 50 years ago when there were people in Western Europe saying that more bombs on Vietnam is a good thing since as a result, the resistance will get stronger.
Back to the Question: Who is the Lesser Evil?
We should be aware that these elections in the USA have two aspects. On the one hand, the question is who is the better candidate. On the other hand, the question is also whether Trump has well done his job. Obviously, it is the strategy of Biden to focus on the second question. That is his right. He would appreciate that „Trump or not Trump“ is the central issue. However, this also shows his weaknesses. I do not see any point where Biden is better than Trump, quite the contrary. So, it would be absurd to support Biden against Trump. On the other hand, Trump has had his chance and he was not really convincing. His anti-Iranian, anti-Chinese, and anti-Venezuelan politics are thoroughly wrong. His murder of Soleimani, his hostility against Syria and Hezbollah, and his veneration of Israel are abominable. A support of Trump against Biden is wholly impossible for me, morally speaking, even if I see him as the better candidate. This is why I cannot give a clear answer to the question of the lesser evil, at least not for now.
I don’t know if this is a surprise, a real shift or what but in Texas and Hong Kong Trump seems to be taking a softer stance toward China at least behind the curtain. Is Trump attempting to bring home the trade deal to secure his reelection while still appearing tough? Two parts.
1….This could be about tit for tat visa and sanctions juggling but saying the United States will treat Hong Kong as ‘One Country, One System’ is an extremely, extremely strong statement. This I never expected to hear. Our excuses are in place so as not to appear weak.

“We cannot risk these items falling into the hands of the People’s Liberation Army,” he said in his statement, referring to the Chinese Communist Party.
“Given Beijing now treats Hong Kong as ‘One Country, One System’, so must we,” Pompeo noted.

In China’s “Master Plan to Destroy America” By Colonels Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui there are plans and strategies, from using computers, to smuggling illegal immigrants, to manipulating the stock markets, to influencing the U.S. media, to using weapons of mass destruction – all to destroy America.
Land next to the Mexican border can help with illegal immigrants, weapons of mass destruction, more advanced weaponized drones and a plethora of goodies.
The drones have been here at least since 2018 when this bill was passed unnoticed.
“An aviation bill Congress is rushing to approve contains a little-noticed section that would give authorities the power to track, intercept and destroy drones they consider a security threat, without needing a judge’s approval.
The bill was never considered on its own by the full Senate or the House. Instead, in private negotiations that ended last weekend, it was tucked into a “must-pass” piece of FAA legislation.”

“Members of Congress fear Beijing could use the facility for espionage and economic warfare….”
Reading the reactions of some of these so-called members of congress is often quite amusing. Unfortunately, these clowns have the powers that are out of proportion to their intelligence and moral standards.
US has been spying, subverting, lying, cheating, killing, stealing, bombing all over the world for decades, overtly and covertly while bragging about them. So it has the greatest guilt-consciousness and tendency for projections: e.g. some Chinese buying a piece of land in Texas – wow, they must be spying or planing an economic warfare, blah, blah, blah.
That is true about Congress but China did put in print their using illegal immigration to destroy the United States. I am in Southern California, a few miles from the border the Chinese have been crossing over for a long time. And yeah some are up to no good or how could they ‘destroy us’ in their own words? While this does look like a what goes around comes around scenario, and you weren’t wrong, in this case I wouldn’t let them buy so much land near the border.
We are not just a city we are also the second largest Naval base in the U.S. The Chinese have for a long time been obsessed with our aircraft carriers.
San Diego has aircraft carriers. https://nationalinterest.org/blog/the-buzz/how-china-plans-win-war-against-the-navy-sink-its-aircraft-25846
In fiscal year 2019, the Border Patrol apprehended a total of 2,134 Chinese nationals. This included the 2,060 apprehended at the Mexican border, 47 at the Canadian border and 27 at coastal borders, which include the Border Patrol’s N e w Orleans Sector, Miami Sector and Ramey Sector in Puerto Rico.
Clearly, people from China seeking to become “not lawfully” present in the United States are more likely to come here through Mexico than through Canada or by sea.

California says: “China did put in print their using illegal immigration to destroy the United States.”
— I would like to see the original document, preferably in Chinese, if possible. But I doubt you have the document. Further, who are these colonels, are they retired generals representing their own individual views. I don’t believe they represent official Chinese government policy.
California says: ”In fiscal year 2019, the Border Patrol apprehended a total of 2,134 Chinese”
You should know that 2000+ Chinese is just a small fraction of total Chinese tourists and immigrants that come out of China every year, don’t you? Furthermore, what are the profiles of these apprehended Chinese – likely poor Chinese workers who are seeking economic opportunities in US – that would be my default guess, unless you have evidences otherwise.
I said ‘some’ up to no good, not all.
FRANCESCO SISCI from ATimes writes of the book.
MAY 21, 2020
The mention of unrestricted warfare quotes directly China’s famous hawk strategists Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui, who in 1999 penned the very influential text Unrestricted War.
You can get the entire book off Google it is still often quoted. I don’t have the original Chinese version, I used the CIA copy.
This is interesting…
Three years before the Sept. 11 bombing of the World Trade Center a Chinese military manual titled Unrestricted Warfare touted such an attack – suggesting it would be difficult for the U.S. military to cope with.
Here is an excerpt from Unrestricted Warfare :
“Whether it be the intrusions of hackers, a major explosion at the World Trade Center, or a bombing attack by bin Laden, all of these greatly exceed the frequency bandwidths understood by the American military…”
Surprisingly, Osama bin Laden is mentioned frequently in this book.
NewsMax.com has made the CIA translation of the book available.
California says: “I said ‘some’ up to no good, not all.”
— No, you need to back that up even when you says “some”. Isn’t this country supposedly observes “rules of laws” and “assumed innocent until proven guilty?”
California says: “You can get the entire [Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui ‘s] book off Google it is still often quoted. I don’t have the original Chinese version, I used the CIA copy.”
— LOL. The book was written over 20 years ago (when China was much weaker). I browsed some of the pages available (both English and Chinese), it talks about strategies in the tradition of Sun Tze’s “Arts of Wars” style. Its main thesis is how can a weak country defeat a stronger country. It uses US as an example of stronger country, but it is definitely NOT the China’s “Master Plan to Destroy America” as your asserted in your original post.
Furthermore, US has published even more war plans (some publicly available) against China: some talks about bombing China, bio-attack China, blockade China, even nuke China to stone age. Should Chinese take these as official US government policies toward China today?
California says: “This is interesting… Three years before the Sept. 11 bombing of the World Trade Center… Surprisingly, Osama bin Laden is mentioned frequently in this book.”
— No, it is not surprising. World Trade Center had been bombed before Sept 11, 2001, and bin Laden is well known to publicly declared his desire to destroy America. It is the failure and stupidity of US government and its intelligence community to connect the dots that was “surprising”.
You seems to have the penchants to see conspiracies when none exists with regards to China. Lots of projection mentality – I would say.
”In China’s ‘Master Plan to Destroy America’ By Colonels Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui there are plans and strategies, from using computers, to smuggling illegal immigrants, to manipulating the stock markets, to influencing the U.S. media, to using weapons of mass destruction – all to destroy America.”
Sounds great to me. I have the gut feeling that there won’t be any attempts at lawsuits this time around. The balance of forces is shifting — fast.
“As a consequence, Trump is very unpopular in the countries of Western Europe. ”
No, it’s because he’s a fucking moron only concerned with enriching himself and having his fragile ego stroked by flunkies and sycophants. You give him far, far too much credit by suggesting his foreign-policy “approach” is anything other than a series of uninformed and unconnected decisions that met his needs on the day he made them.
The facr that he is also addicted to amphetamine doesn’t help matters. Sleepy Joe could certainly do with some….
“A support of Trump against Biden is wholly impossible for me, morally speaking, even if I see him as the better candidate. This is why I cannot give a clear answer to the question of the lesser evil, at least not for now.”
Thanks for the article!
The concluding sentences quoted above are about where I am now, deptessing as it is; however, the actual prospects for the “selection” for me are indeed frightening, biden with his vp ready to take the reins or trump with his incomptent kushner on speed dial to israel, nitenyaahoo, saudi arms sales, etc, etc.
No question in my mind that trump is incompetent, weak, and completely in the pocket of the zionists. But what are the offers of the dimos: BLM, soros, antifa, both houses of the craven congress, pelosi, schumer (gad, what choices)!!!
My sense, as I’ve prob said here too many times, is that the selection will cause almost total chaos on into the 2022 selection; whatever the immediate result, with the obvious and actual charges of vote fraud, will cause the armies of lawyers to spring into action endlessly while the country (and the world) suffers in astonishment.
(Russiagate and vote fraud are prob child’s play compare to what is to come, meanwhile we go into another lockdown, $trillions of debt are compounding, and no one of competence currently is or will be in charge).
COVID-19 changed everything. Far from being a “black swan” event, it was a deliberate bio-weapon attack, initially on China and Iran, but now obviously on the USA, or should I say on the working class of the USA. The US knew back in the second week of November that it would infect Wuhan and warned Israel and others about it.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/us-alerted-israel-nato-to-disease-outbreak-in-china-in-november-report/
It has subsequently served as cover for the biggest heist in history, $7 trillion last I heard, from the US treasury to the banks and the big corpse. It has bankrupted “main street” and has made tens of millions of US workers as superfluous as pack animals as their jobs will now be done by automation and robots. It makes no difference whatsoever whether Trump or Biden wins the election, if we even bother to have one.
Given Biden’s past one can say neither Trump nor Biden are a choice. Both have the same view of the economy, socialism for the wealthy, capitalism for the working class. For both war is diplomacy. Both are old men, tired hanging on to life surrounded by a Mafia of like-minded criminals. who use the media to lie, steal, and cheat.
Both parties are dangerous. led by dangerous people with nuclear weapons. I might even say some are crazy like Bolten and Biden , and the Clintons. Obama was a token African American, stripped of power, a showpiece for the world. He became one of them. In America the closer you get to changing things the closer you are to being assassinated, or dragged into a NATO tribunal reserved for your enemies where they kill you.
Ahh yes. Trump vs. Biden. A gun in one hand and a poison pill in the other. Decisions, decisions… Better question is whether to continue to participate in this charade or not. I think not. Burn it down. Maybe something better will grow out of the ashes. Couldn’t be any worse. I think the independent states option will be the eventual outcome, although DC might need some hard convincing before they get it. They’ll come around eventually, one way or another.
Paul,
Thank you for this excellent sober exploration of the lessor of two evils question.
We are often are presented with false choices, and the current two party lead candidates
present a perfect example of that. Ryan Christian with thelastamericanvagabond.com
even goes as far as to say that the whole system has been so corrupted that taking a
side in this two party system is missing the whole point that we are being used and played
regardless of which candidate wins every four years, that the primary agenda will be the
same regardless of who is in office. Your analysis however gives the process a chance
and looks at specific pros and cons related to the two candidates which I find very helpful.
Your summary of Trump’s foreign policy really articulates point by point how I feel, which
is very good to hear. The whole question of collapse and what follows after empire is
inciteful, and I agree the focus on collapse is not helpful and is even dangerous. We
are living in a turbulent and uncertain time, and being realistic about the likelihood
that this will continue and likely escalate regardless of the outcome of the election is
something to really keep in mind. I was going to write in ‘Snoopy’ before. Now maybe I’ll
come up with a less cynical write in, maybe someone like Ron Paul. However,
if the voice of God tells me between now and election time that for some reason to vote
for one of these candidates, (I hope that doesn’t happen because I don’t want to vote for either of these people) … I’m not going to even finish this sentence…the implications are too inconceivable.
Thank you. This subject – the lesser of two evil question, is a very good topic of discussion
that cannot be brought up enough. I am very happy to be finding more and more examples
of this including this recent article on the Saker blog: http://thesaker.is/krampus-is-alive-and-well-how-the-myth-of-soros-paralyses-the-anti-imperialist-struggle/

”Both sides in the USA are utterly hostile to the development of a post-Western world. Both sides cannot even imagine that the USA should just be a normal country like others”
That’s because it is the United States of Militant Parasites. Hence, Pindos — rightly — perceive the prospect of an emerging post-Western world as total anathema to them since it means the end of their misappropriation of other peoples’ natural resources and labour output = End to their exceptionalism and indispensability in no uncertain terms (enormous drop in living standards accompanied by raw Schadenfreude from the entire planet except Poland, Ukraine, and the Baltics).
The terminal phase of the neoliberal rot, decay, putrefaction, and decomposition of the West which we now see unfold is really great news. Frankly, I don’t see any point in these Pindo elections at all — at least not as long as the franchise is restricted to such a moronic people. If they can declare Guaido as the ’legitimate President of Venezuela’, then the corollary should be that any non-US country could reciprocate and declare any election result in the US null and void.
Could be a little question of investigations and… cough, cough… war crimes tribunals as well for the instigators of all the “terror festivities” these past many years should the empire suddenly come crashing down. Wouldn’t that be fun? At the very least, the nukes will need to be secured from these bastards.
I see Biden as the public face of something vague. Who is pulling his strings? I don’t know the answer, but it includes Israel and the banks. This is true to some extent of Trump too.
As far as who to vote for, there are some alternatives; vote pairing is where a Republican agrees with a Democrat to both vote for third parties. Vote swapping is where a person in a non-swing state agrees to vote for a third party in exchange for a swing state person voting for a mainstream candidate. Both exchanges require trust.
Well, being INSIDE the USA and being a real live American, I view the question of Trump vs Biden a little differently. Here is my take, and China figures nowhere in my thinking, not because what the author says about the “Asian Century” is incorrect, but simply because it is not relevant to the existential question before me and my compatriots:
1. If Biden wins, the Genocide against Whites in this country will accelerate and we can expect a race war almost immediately.
2. If Trump wins the election, but fails to gain control over the government that he supposedly leads (which seems the most likely outcome), the genocide of Whites, that was kicked off in earnest with the latest round of BLM rioting, will accelerate, but presumably Trump will be able to slow down the process as Whites (read real Americans, its not really about skin color, but about whether or not you embrace the majority White culture) organize for the coming war.
That is it…What happens economically elsewhere in the world is literally irrelevant to the survival of my people and my nation. I do not fear Chinese ascendance, we are going to war against Jewish domination… Period.
I am an American too, and I disagree that there is a black race war against whites. The real problem, I think, is the powerful– the wealthy and the politicians. We have a corrupt political system that runs on bribery, filled with people whose principle agenda is lining their own pockets. Black people did not give us the wars, the 2008 crash and its bailouts, our money-sucking health care system, or financial deregulation.
Very good essay!
“An important economic recession is the consequence of the pandemic. Moreover, there are these social unrests which usually – but very imprecisely – are described as the „Black lives matter“ movement. How will the US society – as a divided society – be able to manage these challenges? This question will certainly dominate the political discussion in the USA during the coming months.”
To me it is glaringly obvious that not only blacks lives are being decimated by the economic collapse, and I would expect that attempting to make only black lives matter in the context of the general ec. collapse would be a pretty big booboo and boomerang that could affect electoral politics. Will working- and middle-class whites—not to mention the white poor—go along with the kneeling to minority suffering and ignoring their own plight? I see that polls seem to be showing a drop of support for Trump and gains for Biden. So . . . I cannot read other people’s minds! Only try to express my own point of view.
I detest all of the Trumpian elements that the author calls out at the end. But I also detest the dishonesty and chicanery of establishment Dems. And I trust them even less than I trust Trump. Furthermore, I must admit that I would love to see Trump and Barr get the chance, and time, to wrap up the whole Russiagate thing and maybe even bring some significant indictments. I think seeing a few perp walks as a result of Russiagate might be the only thing that will start to bring the Dems—characters like Schiff and Pelosi—to their senses. Of course when it come to senses, Biden is already a lost cause. The mendacious pupputry and hypocrisy is worse than the Republicans’ stupid policies. And Biden will nto stand up to Israel anyhow. He will not make friends with Iran or China. Reading Biden’s tweets and watching his pressers will be even more unbearable than Trump’s!
When push starts coming to shove in the economy and the social fabric, which party will respond better? Depends on what one considers “better,” I guess. In some ways I think Trump might have the better human instincts, but I don’t think he understands how to be the chief executive and what measures he can and should take to preserve order.
Regarding Schaller’s question of what would follow the collapse of the USA, I think the answer is governors and maybe coalitions of governors. DC will become increasingly irrelevant anyhow, as the tax base erodes. Governors will perhaps make deals with corporations of various kinds to keep some cash flowing so that the lights don’t go out in state capitols. As historically usual, Jews will be the middlemen in many of these arrangements.

To keep it short:
-1 Tump (very dumb)
-2 Biden (even dumber)
Good summary right?
Guys …you can’t see the wood for the trees.
My money is on Jesse Ventura and his son Tyrone. – political outsiders but with excellent track record in government and media – a great team.
They wont stand a chance within the current rigged system
But once the House of Cards collapses and the dust clears…they are amongst the most integer of Americans and have a good chance….
Regarding 2016, for many of us, we never cared about Trump winning. We just wanted Hillary to lose. She supported her husband’s criminal war against Yugoslavia. She voted for the illegal Iraq War that killed over a million Iraqis. She was a key architect of the criminal war against Libya and a major supporter of the terrorist proxy war against Syria. She also shared responsibility for the 2014 coup and subsequent plundering of the Ukraine. These are the biggest reasons that we wanted Hillary to lose and not any illusions that Trump might be better. I also think that many of us feel the same way about Biden as we did about Hillary.
I voted for Trump because, at the time he ran for office, he was the ONLY candidate who supported an expansion of peaceful relations with Russia. Once he was elected, the very first thing that the Democratic party did was to make this politically impossible. IT IS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY who continue to demonize Russia, and keep the United States from developing a mutually beneficial relationship with that country. For this, I can never forgive them.
It is likely that Biden’s deteriorating mental state and age will cause him to leave office before the end of his first term, and possibly before the end of the first half of his first term. We cannot discount this as strategy. By fielding a candidate likely to leave office early in the first term, the democrats can propel a more preferred candidate to the Presidency. I see the choice in November as between Trump and Biden’s VP. Not a word yet who that is, and only four months to go.
————————
“The likely candidate to replace Biden after winning the election in November is that he will be Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle. I do not have much information about her resume, but she will surely follow the same political approaches as her husband and, to be honest, I do not recommend them to the world. Obama is one of those presidents who have practiced hypocrisy better than any other gringo president, always with nice speeches to flatter the population but behind the scenes doing only what the oligarchic deep state group is ordered and interested in.”
Google-translate from the mod.
You confused me at ponderous and unimaginative — are you implying that critical thinking is unimaginative? I proceeded reading only to find the same old arguments of choosing the lessor evil blah blah blah and finally not even providing any clear direction.
The article started well with hegemony decline being the better choice to hegemony continuation and then viered of to let’s be wary of wanting US decline because we don’t know who comes to power. The fallacy here is that the US today is better than the US tomorrow because history or something shows us what might come after may be more evil. Wrong, when empires collapsed, those they oppressed became free just as those that resisted them and another empire arose to continue the oppression like the previous empire. But note each successive empire was not as evil as the one before due to not being as strong as the one before — Egyptian, Babylonian, Medo-Persians, Greek, Roman , Byzantine Empires etc. The exception being western empires which again reset back to outright slavery and massacre of the native untermensch. And even with western Empires each successive empire waned in its oppressive practices with the British and American being the last. Slavery and Colonization finally nearly abolished. What we have is now vassals that pay tribute; economic oppression with dollar exorbitant privilege and neo-colonialism. But it has taken a turn for the worse as empire now is only into smashing nations. So like I said let US burn just like it has destroyed other countries and humans: an eye for an eye, a life for a life. And if China rises and is oppressive, that is the cycle of karma for humans always gravitate to oppression of the other. Let China oppress as it has been oppressed and when it reaches its end, then let Africa arise and oppress. Unless we accept that we are all humans and should apply human rights equally across the board. If not, then I would rather the cycle of oppression move from one people to another than only one group oppress perpetually. An eye for an eye.
So, I support both Trump in some issues and DNC in some issues. Let US be divided as ever. Let either side not accept the outcome of the election. Many an African countries have voted out oppressive regimes only to have that same regime rig itself back again because of US support and refuse to relinquish power. Let the chickens come home to roost.
Pardon me for not writing a better article. My mind right now is not interested in debating the obvious, its tired of the apologies given for injustices. Clearly the comments reflect that.
You write some excellent points….a very good summary of the cycle of Karma…
The West has never had Western Democracy. Its just a talking point and an excuse for creating despotism for profit in the third world.
The Dems and Republicans are two rival gangster groups that agree on almost everything. In the manner of gangster groups there could have been a deal that Hilary wins so that the Dems felt cheated when she doesn’t. Now there is behind the scenes strife.
Rome was defeated by foreign troops who moved into a power vacuum created by internal strife. Napoleon was beaten by other European powers after he lost popular support and Hitler just bit off more than he could chew by marching on Moscow. Empires cease to be able to resist external forces because something about the empire changes.
Obama 2 was the last lesser evil election. Ballot access rules prevent democratic renewal in the USA.
