Russia has military weapons to defend itself , but Healthy Agricultural production is Russia’s
weapon of the future World conquest.

This is amazing. I come from farmer stock and it is quite something to see how highly technical productive farming has become .. both labor intensive and capital intensive. And the Russians use organic fertilizers and non-gmo seeds, so, that is another good thing.

If one reads then about the South African farmers and the landgrab there, one can see why it is not about the land really … but about the development of the technology installed on the land.

Odd that you didn’t mention the violent and forcible “landgrab” and “mineral grab” that occurred there in the 19th century that was accompanied by profuse bloodshed.

@MacDonald: “Lower quality”? 12.5% Protein is on the high side of the range for normal wheat from 11 – 13.2% that I found on the web. What is the protein range for GMO wheat? And what do you mean by “quality” ? There’s a lot more to wheat than just protein: carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, roughage — _and Long Term Safety_; traditional wheat has been safely eaten for thousands of years, GMO for barely one generation.

I wouldn’t be the only one who will take minus 12 and even15% proteins in Russian grain to avoid all the GMO consequences!

The banning of all genetic modification in food is Russia’s biggest strength. Within a few years, Russia will be the biggest and best provider of non-GMO, organic food. It’s a massive selling point. And another reason why the West hates Russia.

Absolutely (re GMOs and bringing organic farming to industrial scale).

A few years ago I read that some of the biggest greenhouse companies in the Netherlands had big contracts with Russia . I said to myself: Yay!!! This makes so much sense. The Netherlands have been at the forefront of developing horticultural and agricultural technology. Just about the smallest country in Yurp exports the most agric. and hort. products. And, the Dutch are incredible engineers, esp. regarding anything concerning water, including irrigation. (OK, I am biased—I have Dutch family connections and love the Netherlands’ “let’s get this done” spirit, including multigenerational survival planning).

Now, seeing this video, I wonder whether some of the greenhouses shown were part of projects undertaken with Dutch companies (globally, 90% of all glass greenhouses are of Dutch origin).

Anyhow, it is bloody marvelous, and amen to Nyet for GMOs and synthetic fertilizers.

A bit of caution required here. The average nutrient value of a Dutch tomato today is one-fortieth of the nutrient value of a British tomato grown in 1941…
Russia mainly purchased tomatoes grown in the NL and Turkey pre-2017 and the purchase of greenhouse facilities from NL coincided with the sanctions slapped on NL imports after the NL joined the sanctions against Russia. Turkey was also a major provider of tomatoes – and imports from Turkey have also been cut completely by Russia (with Russia stating that henceforth it will only buy from Turkey as and when they are short – which they will not be). So the current situation is indeed that the NL has been able to export its technology to Russia leading to the current situation where Russia is almost self-sufficient in tomatoes.
Similar success story with chicken – 2014 100% imports from USA – 2018 100% produced in Russia and no imports due to Russian sanctions.
Mangoes were also a major export earner for the NL – now cut completely by Russia and most now arrive from Pakistan and India…cheaper and better quality…win-win all round for Asia.
The Dutch have slackened of late – I read they were reprimanded within the EU for not doing enough to protect their coastline from expected future flooding.

Well, don’t worry — this will all be taken care of by the US’s new biological crop-destruction agents.

    USA! USA!
