The Duran is great, well until comments. Then everyone has to sign in to the US/NSA to leave a comment.

much agree with you (but not with Anonymous).
As for Disqus there and facebook, twitter, google+ I made almost the same statement 1 week or more ago, but when I last looked got no response.
It is worse: Saker’s blog (Russian version) has such links under its articles where it demands logins via facebook, twitter, google+ or PinIt. If that sounds hard to believe, watch yourself:

Now, when I last looked I didn’t get a response to that either removed. Please contact the Saker direct by email if you wish to discuss his sites or the Russian team direct – they are responsible for their site or the saker webmaster whose contact details are available on the site in contact info. He doesn’t moderate the site so will only reply rarely.
Sorry, but in my experience Discus is a pain the b—.
I have tried, in order to comment in a local paper. I found that one misstep—kind of a stupid user name that I chose, now follows me and I can’t seem to change it.
Why all the trouble just to comment? The other paper makes it relatively simple (a la Saker).
I don’t comment anywhere where Discus is required.
Don’t do FB. Also don’t do Google, as that info seeps into everything.

this Disqus bs keeps a complete tracking record of all comments you have ever made to any site using Disqus (even visible all the time by the user).
When I complained about that here last week, is got even praised as a “feature”, see yourself:

Opinions may differ. Mine is that these two are insufferable bores. One CrossTalk was already one too much, who needs now more of the same in print.
I have to say, I am not that impressed with The Duran.
I much prefer to see these fellows on CrossTalk, with others commentators.
Some of the writing on The Duran is quite puerile—not of the Mercouris quality.
And of course no comments to speak of.
I think Mercouris is most effective with his louche delivery when he is a foil to others with a different delivery and approach. He always seems to be able to tie loose ends together in the CrossTalk format.

As said, I’m a big CrossTalk fan.
But hint: The technical quality via a cheap builtin webcam slow Skype connection, poor lighting conditions and simply no professional studio – that simply diminishes the otherwise great interview.
Also maybe Alexander Mercouris should have been less tired/exhausted, maybe the 2 liters of RedBull (without Vodka) might have helped (I’m speaking of my own experience).
It is really a pity, that the interview was not recorded in studio mp4 quality, as we are used from CrossTalk.
With the exception of NSA social media logins: Thumbs up!
Time to grow, expand and improve allowed?
