Is there much road freight runs the width of Russia Scott, or is it more rail and sea. I just checked the distance from Moscow to Vladivostok on google maps – 9067 km.
The longer runs here like Melbourne-Perth, Sydney-Perth, Melbourne-Darwin are around the three and a half thousand k’s.
I did a Melbourne Perth run with a trucky one time (3400km each way), non stop, swapping seats on the go. He thought it was great, because he didn’t have to take pills.
His standard procedure was to leave Perth to pick up his load, drive to Melbourne, unload, take on a new load for Perth, drive a couple of hundred k’s back towards Perth, get some sleep there, and then drive through to Perth and leave the truck to be unloaded.
Two nights sleep then do the same over again. Crazy. One round trip per week on his own and had been doing it for a few years at that stage.
