New Ukrainian ministers don’t speak Ukrainian Mikle1 – Live Journal
During the first meeting of the new Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk had to switch from Ukrainian to Russian, reported RIA Novosti with reference to Ukrainian media.
As noted, to make Russian a working language during the meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers Prime Minister Yatsenyuk was asked by the new Health Minister Alexander Kvitashvili, Georgian by nationality.
The public on camera portion of the meeting the head of the government, as expected, held in Ukrainian. In the course of the closed part of the meeting Yatsenyuk first switched to English, but the Ministers were not fluent in it, and the Ukrainian Prime Minister had to resort to Russian. The fact that the new head of the Ministry of Health did not quite understand his boss was revealed immediately after the public part of the meeting of the Cabinet.
So much for the new government. What would Farion have to say about that?

I can’t decide if that’s a robot voice, or someone with an unusual accent. He/it is very fluent in the reading, but stresses the wrong syllables.
It was a bit hard to catch, but the first item seems to be talks with the original Minsk OSCE co-ordinators. Behind the scenes, these have gone a long way to negotiating the Dec 9/10 “day of silence”.
But it says “Kiev wants them to subordinate” and somehow I don’t see that happening. Even if they agree to end the blockade, how long will they keep their word for? the “Special Status” that was meant to be for 3 years, has already been cancelled (unless ethnic cleansing nowadays counts as a special status). And if they officially become a part of Ukraine again, how do they prevent the Three Foreign Stooges wrecking everything in Novorossiya?
So, this is how USA gets the wrong impression what’s going on in Ukraine.
Joe Biden had a phone call with Poroshenko and Yatsenuk a few days ago. Afterwards, they both put out official statements what the call was about. The blockade was discussed.
Poro’s version: “…also discussed humanitarian situation in the Donbas, particularly the decision of the Ukrainian authorities to terminate funding, for those funds were being stolen to support terrorism. The parties discussed the possibility of supplying humanitarian aid for the Donbas people living in the occupied territories.”
But Yatsenuk went into more detail, look at US State Dept version: “…The Vice President and Prime Minister also discussed the armed robbery of cash delivery trucks and ATMs by Russian proxies in the east, as well as the “war tax” being exacted by these proxies on pensioners and other citizens. The Vice President condemned this outrageous behavior, and welcomed Prime Minister Yatsenyuk’s commitment to hold in escrow pension and other social benefit payments to citizens in the separatist-controlled territories with the aim of delivering these payments as soon as it is safe to do so.
The two leaders both called on Russia to immediately create safe conditions that would allow for the delivery of humanitarian aid by the Ukrainian government and enable the recommencement of social benefits payments to the residents of the separatist-controlled territories, in addition to fulfilling the conditions that Russia agreed to in the September 5 Minsk agreement.
So it seems the reason pensions have been cancelled is the fault of Russia, too. They have made it too dangerous for Kiev, in Kiev to credit an account with the amount, and leave it up to the pensioner how they’ll go to a safe bank to collect it. In fact they stopped “pension tourism”.
Yeah I can just see them delivering 6 months arrears, when austerity means even Western Ukrainian pensions will be cut ay day now.
this is ot…but tonight RT’s ‘news’ stories are terrible…two horror stories from afar, that I don’t need to know about…accidents…and also a derogatory story about Ergodan…almost as though there’s american funding for RT.
part 1: the condition of U.S. ‘democracy’ itself comes into question when 98% of the U.S. House of Representatives vote to donate U.S.-made weapons to the world’s only nazi regime — one right on the border of Russia, moreover — and when 67% of the American public (including the vast majority of the American public who don’t even know that the Ukrainian Government is nazi) oppose not only the donating of these weapons, but even any sort of transmittal or “sending” of them, including selling of them, to that Government.
So, the U.S. House vote about this on December 4th was a reflection of today’s U.S. ‘democracy,’ whatever that is. It displays a pervasive and profound alienation between the U.S. Government and the U.S. people, and this is something that’s impossible in a democracy. It cannot happen in a democracy; it disproves a ‘democracy’; but it’s the case in the United States.
This House vote is one crucial step along the path toward a nuclear war with Russia. Many more steps are yet to go, but now the direction is clear and incontrovertible, and we are on it.
How can the Russian Government stand by and merely watch while Russia’s supporters right next door to them in Ukraine are being exterminated? However, now clearly, the U.S. Government seems to be overwhelmingly committed to exterminating them. There are even cluster-bombs, and white phosphorous, and also more-advanced forms of incendiary munitions, that are being used to get rid of the residents there. But mostly, it’s just the routine type of military mass-murder. (Those are the ‘terrorists’ that Ukraine and its sponsors are constantly referring to including in their standard phrase for the extermination-campaign: “Anti-Terrorist Operation,” or ATO for short. That’s the sales-phrase by which they market it to suckers everywhere. And these are the ‘terrorists.’)
The U.S. is laying down the gauntlet to Russia. Perhaps the idea is that if Russia sends in their army and publicly commits to the defense of these people, the U.S. aristocracy and the ones who are in its pay will proclaim this to be a cause by ‘the West’ to attack Russia for its ‘aggression.’ Things could get out of control. But, maybe they already are.
On the positive side, member-nations of NATO could quit the alliance, which would considerably reduce the U.S. threat. NATO was supposed to have been set up in order to defend against communism. However, now that communism is all but dead, yet NATO has expanded and especially surrounds Russia, NATO is more clearly shown as being instead the international marketing-organization for U.S.-made weapons. It’s not only for invading Syria, etc., but especially for weakening and isolating Russia and all of its allies. Even a third world war could be highly profitable to their financial backers. And perhaps those financial backers have more clout in the U.S. Government now than the American people do. However, if that’s the case, then arms-makers wouldn’t be the only industry — there’s also banking, oil, corporate agriculture, and others, who would also be at the feast — and perhaps Ukraine isn’t more corrupt than the United States after all.
Perhaps Ukraine is America’s future, unless America’s future is World War III. The odd thing is that this time we would be leading the fascist nations, instead of leading their enemies. It could be called “Hitler’s revenge.” In case it seems not possible, consider America’s vote for nazism at the U.N., and the House’s vote for war against Russia. Hitler’s revenge is a possibility. It is not an impossibility. However, this time, the first target is Russia, not Jews. But the conflagration could be world-wide, and far worse than last time.
The December 4th House vote to finance the “ATO,” and the November 21st U.N. vote for nazism, are just two steps along the path toward that conflagration, but they are both steps that are of historical magnitude in that they indicate not just that America’s aristocracy are determined to do everything to destroy Russia, but that they don’t care what the American people think or feel about that, and they have the overwhelming support of the U.S. Government in doing it.
U.S. House Votes 98% to Donate U.S. Weapons to Ukraine; U.S. Public Is 67% Against. Is This Democracy?
Before annyone loses their lunch, Salon, a well known ‘progressive’ e-zine with a strong leftist/cultural Marxist bent, is now siding openly with Russia (no more Rioting Pussies) over the debacle in Ukraine and against the Neocon controlled mainstream media and their related interests in energy, armaments, security, etc.
Salon is controlled by certain ‘moderate’ Anglo-Zionist and NY finacial interests — as in, the fiat paper wielding banksters. They are pitted against the cannon wielding soldiers of ZATO who’ve been dropping like flies since before Patreus was unceremoiniously dumped by Obama.
They (the finance guys) are the same people who brought you Occupy and the 99 versus 1% meme via another one of their ‘alternative’ publications, Vancouver based Adbusters magazine, which set off that controlled opposition revolt several years back with a single ad announcing plans to occupy Zucotti Park. Many of you will remember that ad featuring a bull and ballerina inspiring the supposedly spontaneous uprising (against Wall Street?) while the Arab Spring raged simultaneously.
To make a long story short, the faultline within Anglo-Zionist ranks, between finance on one side and Neocons on the other, appears to be on full public display. Again, this appears to be an open fight between Bilderbergers (finance) and Bohemian Grovesters (big oil/arms/mainstream media) on the other with the former now siding openly with Putin and Russia.
If this is not just an elaborate show meant to set the stage for the full seizure of power by combined oligarch interests (finance AND big oil together — a very real possibility), then it appears as though with regards to Russia and the banksters, they have judged the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I am not necessarily saying Putin has sided with the banksters and against the Neocon/NATO/Nazi alliance although this seems a strong possibility and very much in the interests of both parties and possibly all of mankind — unless of course you’re rootin’ for armageddon and the First/Second Coming. Either way Putin and the banksters have common interests, specifically the destruction of the NATO/Nazi/Ziocon agenda and a stable transition into a…
Tripolar New World Order.
Saker and most of his community fit into this category btw.
Those of you who would prefer none of the above don’t count for shit, same as the Third Estate of the French Revolution.
The lowering of oil prices might actually be seen as a tactical Neocon response since it not only harms Russia, it also hurts the US petrodollar which is dependent on a certain minimum level price for oil without which the bankster financial ponzi scheme could easily collapse.
In the event of a total economic collapse, the people with the guns might use the ensuing crisis to seize direct power in a coup d’etat of the US and certain other EU governments. Merkel and Germany would be prime targets in the event of such an occurrence since they appear to be playing footsie with the Russians, at least from the Neocon perspective. Note the recent spike in anti German rhetoric (calling them unresolved Nazis) by the pro Israel Zio-nazis themselves.
Oh what a tangled web they weave.
These are the stakes ladies and gentlemen. Gold bugs should figure out how they’re gonna eat their precious metals horde should the just in time food distribution system suddenly break down, a distinct possibility in the event of a complete financial collapse and subsequent coup.
Now back to your regularly scheduled bread and circuses programming.
well, in Balkans we have our own Ukraine. it is called Serbia. it bullies anything non Serbian and has claims on other former republic territories. it has also leadership formed of Chetniks (president is the duke of Chetniks and PM is a member of Chetnik affiliated party) and abolition of Chetink movement is in full swing.
while I sympathize with Novorussians I can not comprehend pragmatic Russian support for current Chetnik leadership in Serbia and abolition for Serbian atrocities in Croatia and Bosnia during the Balkan wars. And also why on earth would do you praise chetnik snipers in Novorussia and their squads which have the same skull/bones flags as when butchering Croatian/Bosnian citizens?
what is wrong with Russians to support Serbs at any cost? Pls. do not give me religion and false Slavic brotherhood as excuse…
p.s. since we have seen that saker is censoring anything that has and grain of truth about Serbian atrocities this post will unlikely surface above his censorship, but we know the truth…
DNR Speaker Andrei Purgin is the authorised negotiator on Minsk issues. According to Interfax, he declared (Dec 5) that DNR is ready for talks with Ukraine on economic issues, but political union is impossible.
“The theme of the Donbas autonomous status within Ukraine – that stage is passed. Today we are talking that a political union with Ukraine is impossible. However, we are ready for talks on economic, socio-cultural and other issues, including, at least on a temporary basis, we will stay within the customs area of Ukraine. What will happen next, time will tell, “- said to” Interfax “the speaker of the Supreme Council of the DNI Andrew Purgin. “The range of issues for dialogue on economic issues is very wide. We are open for cooperation here, and do not want to break the decades of tried and true economic ties. Therefore, we are ready to discuss favorable conditions for business, including, at least on a temporary basis, the common customs area, and preservation of hryvnia as a currency “, – said Purgin.
In other words they’ll do business, not apply tariffs, but will run themselves politically. This is a step PAST Federation. Kiev can stop dreaming.
============ The Three Stooges – the foreigners naturalised to become Ministers – don’t speak Ukrainian. So now they have to hold Cabinet meetings in the hated banned RUSSIAN. Muwahahaha.
============ from several blogs: Moscow development assistance officials have decided to keep out of the occupied territories after some 1400 partisans were picked up by SBU in one week, in Kharkiv. This is a huge loss of people, as up to half of them may not be seen again. They could use a few prayers, frm those here who do.
They are recommending against open protest, of course, but have nothing to do with the underground work, which is a special forces responsibility.[Perhaps this ties in with Bezler being in the area].
Eumoura about resignation/removal of 2 development people ( Igor apoport and Vladimir Avdeenko, rumours to some extent spread by Strelkov, allegedly just ‘normal rotation” and illhealth, not a change of direction or attitude to Novorossitua. Putin sdviser Surkov is apparently still there, contrary to Strelkolv, who is reported to be “a downed pilot”, one whose time has passed.
Another well connected so;urce is quoted saying “”For the first nine months of the general line [of Moscow] toward Ukraine has changed three times. Supervision of the Ukrainian question can not be called successful in any way, regardless of who was in charge. There is no “iron plan” no, it is situational. Same thing with the selection of personnel. “ “the presidential administration staff in this area are selected for specific tasks.”
=======looks much like we’ve suspected for a long time…it was a totally local inititative, Russia just went with the flow, or rolled with the punches, after first preferring it didn’t happen.
Beauty of having an empire, I guess — you have people on standby for ANYthing that might come up.
“For the opportunity to work at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau candidates are asked for a bribe in the amount of 100 thousand dollars” – posted on Facebook the chief editor of the Lvov newspaper “Ratusha”, a well-known crime journalist Nikolai Saveliev, referring to his sources in law enforcement agencies.
“This must be stopped! An acquaintance from law enforcement decided that his career had reached its limit. He decided to go higher and become the ultimate fighter with Anti-Corruption Bureau. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine – a law enforcement agency with a broad power of authority is responsible for prevention, detection, suppression and investigation of corruption crimes. He started looking in Kiev. And found what he was looking for. And now – the sensation. For the right to enter into the orderly ranks of this Bureau, which will have 700+ employees and very great powers, the detective was asked for $100,000 with a promise that he will get at least half back in the first quarter. In September, the opportunity to become the knight of integrity cost only $50,000! But now, elections were held and everything magically changed”.
Saveliev added that he checked several additional channels and received confirmation that it was true.
Surprisingly, in a press release issued this morning, the member-owned cooperative, reveals that not only has it received “calls to disconnect institutions and entire countries from its network – most recently Israel and Russia”, but that it regrets “the pressure” as the “surrounding media speculation, both of which risk undermining the systemic character of the services that SWIFT provides its customers around the world.” * 12/04/14 snip: (less than 50%)
Russia’s red line: If Russian access to SWIFT is cut off, ‘the US ambassador to Moscow should leave the same day’
A top Russian banker and close personal confidante to President Vladimir Putin has sent a strong message to the West.
Vladimir Putin does not buy the notion that tough economic sanctions, imposed on Russia by US and its European allies, are merely a punishment for Russia’s policies toward Ukraine, its annexation of Crimea, and its support of separatist fighters in the East Ukraine. Earlier today, speaking to the representatives of the Federal Assembly in Kremlin, he claimed that “the crisis in Ukraine was just a formal pretext for sanctions.” He was confident that “If all this had never happened, any other excuse would have been created” as a result of the “policy of containment [of Russia] which was invented not yesterday, but has been held against our country for decades, if not centuries.
Yesterday, the German newspaper Handelsblatt published an interview that has yet to be printed in any English-language newspaper with the head of Russia’s second largest VTB-Bank (Foreign Trade Bank), Andrei Kostin. Mr. Kostin stated: “Of course, there is a plan B [in the case of shutting Russia off from the SWIFT bank system], but in my personal opinion it would mean war—if this type of sanction will be introduced. America and Europe did that against Iran but with Iran at that time there were no diplomatic relations, only military containment… If Russian banks’ access to SWIFT will be prohibited, the US ambassador to Moscow should leave the same day.
“not only is VTB controlled by the state, but 51-year-old Kostin is a close friend of President Vladimir Putin, and a member of the board of Rosneft, Gazprom’s smaller but powerful rival.” According to the influential Russian newspaper Vedomosti, Mr. Kostin is holding 2nd place among all Russian politicians on the frequency of the tête-à-tête meetings with Mr. Putin.
Russia is running against time—in May 2015 the country’s Central Bank is planning to introduce its national analogue to SWIFT. Until then, Russia wants the entire world to know where the new war of economic sanctions stops and old-fashioned war begins.
Helping Yatsenyuk strip Ukraine’s assets to maximize profits for overseas investors will be Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko and Economic Minister Aivaras Abromavicius.
Jaresko’s career in finance began at the U.S. State Department, where she served as the first Chief of the Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine from 1992 to 1995. More recently, she served as head of private equity firm Horizon Capital and simultaneously oversaw the $150 million Western Newly Independent States Enterprise Fund (WNISEF).
Horizon Capital co-founder, Jeffrey Neal, held the position of Chairman of the Global Investment Banking Group of Merrill Lynch & Co, Inc. In this role, he “provided comprehensive wealth management to affluent and high-net-worth clients.”
At Horizon Capital and WNISEF, Jaresko helped direct western financial involvement into the Ukrainian economy. She has already promised a “cost-cutting” budget for the people of Ukraine, which will no doubt include more profit for her investors.
Abromavicius’s career began in Lithuania, where after a short stint at Hansabank, he worked for East Capital, a private investment firm. The firm reportedly invested over $100 million in Ukraine in 2012.
The investments of the two firms are obviously paying off, as their partners are now part of the Ukrainian government.

It was also observed that required for a truce in the Donbas negotiations should already be done. Perhaps representatives of LC sign an armistice agreement next week in Minsk. “Yesterday the president [Poroshenko] met with the security forces, and was determined date – December 9,” – said the representative of the National Security Council.

Ukrainian politicians supported the militant attack on the police in Grozny. As a result, Russia’s Investigative Committee interested in their statements about the events of December 4, because these statements fall under article 205.2 of the Criminal Code.

Even worse, under the guise of good intentions, some religious organizations are actually contributing to incitement of ethnic hatred and undermine the sovereignty of Ukraine “, – said in a memorandum. I tried to mail to the new blog, vineyard.it, but address perhaps not set up yet. Italian speakers may enjoy a Putin TV appearance during which Vlad explains for the nth time why the AZ’s behaviour is – shall we say? – unreasonable.
It seems one of the security officers killed in Grozny yesterday was the 22 year old cousin of Kadyrov. And he has vowed vendetta on the Ukrainians that support terrorism in Chechnya. He says he will bring the 3 Rada deputies that publicly called on terrorists to strike,to Grozny for trial.Though I suspect he meant something more than “trial”.But I could be wrong on that. Now one of them is digging his grave even deeper by calling Kadyrov a buffoon, and said he murdered his own father today. From the little I know about Chechens.I think they take family vows seriously, and insults just as serious. So hopefully a few nazis may not be around much longer to torment Ukraine.
Anon Putin has a heart. He doesn’t want 30 million people suffer. But he doesn’t want to be the mug either.
Eussia has again sold some coal to Ukraine, a few days ago. With blackouts up to 16 hours A day all over the place, people are starting to complain. They are blaming EMERGENCIES at several power stations plus having run out of coal.
Last Russian shipment is arriving late. Apparently it accidentally got sent to a border crossing not controlled by Ukraine, so extra administration in getting it to them :) incompetents have heaps of coal they don’t know about
Governor of (occupied) Luhansk, Gennady Moskal, sttes there is more than 122,000 tonnes of coal ON KIEV TERRITORY. But for some reason Donetsk Railways don’t have the suitable cars and locomotives to transport it. This seems to be related to Kiev forcibly withdrawing all services rm the Donbass region (but this has not yet happened with the railways). Maybe the coal cars got taken already??? (Which area a train can come from, to a particular coal mine, depends of course on where the rails run. A lot of the relevant rails run through Donetsk. Bad luck. http://www.moskal.in.ua/?categoty=news&news_id=1293
This guy is one Kiev administrator I wouldn’t mind seeing working for Novorossiya, Clean, straight, sensible, good administrator, good humour.
MOSCOW, December 6 (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he has NOT discussed Mistral-class helicopter carriers’ delivery to Russia with his French counterpart Francois Hollande during a meeting on Saturday, but Moscow expects that the contract will be implemented.
“I read that Russia starts selling coal to Ukraine again. Is that not stupid? Why Russia is acting so soft, even helping Kiev?”
Why is that stupid, if Kiev regime change is the long term Russian goal, meanwhile giving the Ukis the feeling that Mother Russia cares about her daughter, currently in an unhappy relationship with Uncle Sam. Eventually the Orange revolution failed. Chances are that EuroMaidan will fail in the long run as well.
In the last few days it became clear that economic warfare is the main weapon used by the Transnational Elite, (TE- i.e. the network of the elites based mainly in the G7 countries which run the New World Order of neoliberal globalization), to subordinate Russia and integrate every other country still resisting the process, e.g. Iran and Venezuela. This includes not just the usual economic sanctions, or the blocking of new projects to facilitate distribution, like the South Stream project but, also, as the dramatic decline in the price of oil has shown in the last few months, the induced fall in its price. This was the case of the last OPEC meeting when Saudi Arabia was the main organ for the implementation of this plan.
As it is well known, Saudi Arabia is the biggest producer and exporter of oil and its actions in the last OPEC meeting were decisive in bringing about the present dramatic decline in its price. As the associate editor and chief economics commentator at the Financial Times put it, celebrating the fact that Russia, Iran and Venezuela might be particularly affected (“Two cheers for the sharp falls in oil prices” was the eloquent title of his article), it was Saudi Arabia that “triggered” this dramatic event:
“U.S. House Votes 98% to Donate U.S. Weapons to Ukraine; U.S. Public Is 67% Against. Is This Democracy?”
It’s “democracy – AIPAC/Jewish lobby style”. When one sees such an overwhelming vote one way by western politicians, it means the Israel/Jewish lobbies are leaning heavy on them. Keep that in mind when people try to spin the “Israel isn’t involved this time” line.

Rubbish. The main attack on Russia has been from the moneybags, especially the zionist leaning ones who think of themselves as a special race that some invisible old bearded guy in the sky has taken a special liking to. It is especially the bankster cabal which has the most to lose from a China/Russia multipolar approach to their dollar dominated free ride. This is why the main thrust of this attack on Russia has been economic. Salon is doing the usual Jewish zionist “good cop” routine – the zios were not able to completely quash the Ukraine nazi aspect of Israel’s toys there, so Salon figures it will work better for their “rep” if they play the “opposition” this round. They’ll run the usual obfuscating rubbish that manages to avoid mentioning root causes, and the “very scary” zio neutralising solutions needed.
The attack on Russia by the ziofascists and fascists (IE: all the western capitalists now) is a unified assault. There are no “good guys” and “bad guys” among this scum. There is no dissent, no serious infighting. It’s one of the most unified wars they’ve ever promoted. Given the alternative, these psychotics got no choice but to try and take out Russia any way they can.
Looks like Ukies are pulling out of the Donetsk airport old terminal, and Motorola’s ‘Spartan’ unit have stepped into wreckage where the ‘cyborgs’ used to be. Givi was as good as his word when he told Novorossiya TV that his ‘Somali’ unit had been relieved in favor of the ‘Spartans’ under Motoral and that the DNR had a ‘surprise’ for the ‘boys at Donetsk airport’ whom Givi advised not to get too comfortable.
I actually saw the news on the Twitter feed of the psycho Banderite tweeter @RobPulseNews — the same one endlessly whining about and stalking @MarcelSardo and @khv27 the Irishman who writes for RT Bryan Macdonald, to the point that the skinny bastard even rants about Mr. Macdonald’s child care providers and attractive Croat girlfriend visiting Libya. The Bandera trolls all seem hellbent on portraying Mr. Macdonald and every Irishman who works for RT as a Provo IRA member with hometown buddies running arms to the FARC in Colombia, I kid you not (Interpreter Rag the Khodorkovsky/Qatar whores were pushing that ‘story’, apparently getting no sympathetic journalists to bite and risk a UK libel suit from Mr. Macdonald).
Of course, Banderastan TV is only showing footage that doesn’t look anywhere close to the ruined old terminal of the Donetsk airport — this looks like a supporting unit pulling back.
Suspect the Russian military envoys who negotiated the temporary ceasefire supposed to take effect this week may have basically given the Ukies an ultimatum: either pull back and DNR will allow you to live, or prepare to get hit with thermobaric weapons and no more cyborgs.
Thanks for the website. Very good stuff about Putin and Alexander Dugin. . Michael Millerman explains it clearly and kind of agree whole heartily, while I’m nowhere religious and still remains a free thinker. Tradition and basic value far outweigh what capitalists or the West have to offer.
Agree with the commenter wanting more sitrep analysis. There is a major battle to cause casualties there so it cannot be seen as a ceasefire. My take is that Russia is holding the rebels back but they are allowed to raid. They are slowly strangling the Avdeevka garrison and now control the highway running north of the Donetsk airport. Stanitsa Lugansk could be easily encircled but the rules for avoiding a Swift cutoff says they have to be engaged head-on there so the rebels are slowly pushing the Aidar Bn back there, outside of the populated area into the woods by the border with Russia. They are not allowed to encircle Schastye so they are leaving that alone especially because the main heating plant for Lugansk is operating there, somehow Aidar at is allowed to exist there because of this blackmail situation.
Back in Kiev, despite what Ukrainian TV is showing, these volunteer battalions are losing the reverence of educated liberals, the kind who wanted to turn away from Russia to the EU. They are catching on that they are being used and eyebrows are arching across Kiev as Amercians enter government as.ministers.
Earlier this weekend it seemed like an armored thrust was being made to cut off the Debaltsevo salient but that disappeared fast. Are the Russians covering up losses there? One would think Tymchuk would be bragging about Russian losses if a thrust was thwarted but maybe not if Americans were involved and everyone wants to hide the fact that WW3 has already begun directly between US weapons and Russia and Russia is being dared to escalate or not, which would bring a SWIFT cutoff. There is a he’ll of a lot of Grad fire from inside and into that salient. If the rebels are as.accurate as they were in summer, the Ukraine losses would be as high as during the summer requiring reserves to be sent in (which seems to have happened). They have fifty thousand men total left and would be losing ten thousand per month casualties. Hardly anything is happening south of Donetsk for three months.
Will the fourth mobilization happen over the holidays? Doubtful. The next few weeks and the deep freeze of January will see deadly artillery attacks meant to wipe out entire units. The question no-one is answering is whether American precision artillery is already at the front wiping out as much Russian artillery as the other way around. We really are not being informed about whether American weapons are already there or not.
China seems quiet. Stabbing Russia in the back? Turkey seems to have helped Russia more than China recently.
This is a pretty good and frank interview with Dr.Assad..
Do You Fear Facing The Same Fate As Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi?
Interview with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad
By Régis Le Sommier in Damascus
The Full Paris Match interview of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, granted in Damascus on November 28th.
Bashar el Assad : When a terrorist attacks you with weapons, how do you defend yourself and your people, with dialogue?! The army uses weapons when the other side uses them. For us in Syria, it is impossible to have our objective as shelling civilians. There’s no reason to shell civilians. If we are killing civilians, in other words killing our people, fighting terrorists at the same time, and fighting the states which stand against us and which support terrorists, like the Gulf countries, Turkey, and the West, how could we stand for four years? If we haven’t been defending the people, we wouldn’t have been able to stand all this pressure. Consequently, saying that we are shelling civilians doesn’t make any sense.
President Assad: Now we are fighting states, not only gangs. Billions of dollars are spent on those gangs. They receive arms from different countries, including Turkey. So, it is not an easy war from a military perspective. Nevertheless, the Syrian Army is winning in many places. On the other hand, no one can say how this war will end or when. But the major war for them in the beginning was how to win the hearts of the Syrians; and they have lost this war.
Bashar el Assad : The president of any state in the world takes office through constitutional measures and leaves office through constitutional measures as well. No President can be installed or deposed through chaos. The tangible evidence for this is the outcome of the French policy when they attacked Gaddafi. What was the result? Chaos ensued after Gaddafi’s departure. So, was his departure the solution? Have things improved, and has Libya become a democracy? The state is like a ship; and when there is a storm, the captain doesn’t run away and leave his ship to sink. If passengers on that ship decided to leave, the captain should be the last one to leave, not the first.
Bashar el Assad : A captain doesn’t think of life and death, he thinks of saving his ship. If the ship sinks, everybody will die, so we would rather save the country. But I want to stress an important point here. Remaining president had never been my objective, before, during, or after the crisis. But we as Syrians will never accept that Syria become a western puppet state. This is one of our most important objectives and principles.
Blood feud (Ч1ир) may only apply to another Chechen.- But that would be illegal in Russia.
In any sane country, legislator supporting terrorism would be totally unacceptable. But not in Ukraine.
Lavrov is taking offence already: https://www.1tv.ru/news/world/273284 “This is – blasphemy, this is cynical, and I think that there is even a reason for the law enforcement agencies to consider this situation in regard to a criminal case”
Very important development, yet another last-minute meeting Putin had yesterday in Moscow with a prominent European leader (French president Hollande):
Funnily enough when Lavrov was being interviewed the other day a Ukrainian journalist bought this up also (coincidence my arse)and Lavrov put them in their place by explaining the Memo and saying Russia doesn’t recognise Coup d’etat.
It would be interesting to hear your view on this and what you think the lunatics are trying to achieve?
Most here might enjoy this quote by Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller, from an interview yesterday (Saturday):
…you can’t win love by force. If the buyer doesn’t want the purchase to be delivered home, well, then perhaps he needs to get dressed and go to the store, and if it happens in winter, get dressed warmer.
Well, he could also take some package, of course, which can well be the Third Energy Package, but what counts most is that it should not be empty…
From a larger excerpt (four paragraphs) at bottom here:
” what is wrong with Russians to support Serbs at any cost? ”
—————————-
Those Croats are really funny! :-)
Russia supports Serbia because Serbia is anti-nazi country. Only Belarus and Serbia are anti-nazi countries in Europe, as we have seen from the recent vote in the UN on heroization of nazism.
The same is true about the wars in the 90s. Nazi state of Croatia, lead by Ustasha- regime of Tudjman got ther backing from the whole Western world, together with Muslim and Albanian neo-nazis.
Serbs were just defending, like Novorussians today.
And I don’t know why do you mention Serbian Chetniks as something negative or equal to Croatian Ustashas ??? Chetniks were anti-fascist army in WW2, while Ustashas were the most blood-thirsty nazi allies in Europe, killing over 1 million Serbs, and tens of thousands of Romas and Jews.
Russians know this.
You can fool the Westerners about the true nature of modern Croatia, but you cannot fool the Russians!
Wm Engdahl: “Now, by forcing Bulgaria, an EU member, to halt South Stream, using blackmail of a Bulgarian bank bailout last June, the EU has made itself dependent on gas security via Ukraine, a country the EU’s own political spinelessness has helped turn into a failed state ruled by a cabal of Brussels-and-Washington backed gangsters and oligarchs. If we follow the motion of his feet and not so much his mouth, Erdogan is above all a pragmatic political survivor. Internal conflict, above all with the CIA-linked Fetullah Gülen movement as I detail in Amerikas Heiliger Krieg, has increased distance between Erdogan. Until now, Washington’s neo-conservatives Richard L. Morningstar, now Ambassador to Azerbijan, had relied on an obedient Turkey as an alternative to carry gas or oil from Azerbaijan independent of Russia. The new gas supplies to Turkey from Russia will be paid in local currencies. Erdogan has also asked to be accepted in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization led by Russia and China. http://journal-neo.org/2014/12/07/putin-pipeline-moves-and-eu-stupidity/Alexander”

I concur with wanting more Ukraine SITREP analysis. Miss this kind of analysis. Where also is such analysis for Iraq,, Boko Haram, etc.? Loved this blog for all those things.
@Where-Wwolf. Fascinating post. Thanks for pointing out the Salon article. I just can’t wait to send it to a few of my liberal friends who have been at war with me for months about the Ukraine/Russia issue, insisting I am brainwashed by Russian propaganda, etc.

PARIS, December 7. /TASS/. French President Francois Hollande has said that his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin held on Saturday at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport “will bring results in the coming days.”
“The meeting was held at a lucky moment and under lucky circumstances and will definitely bring results in the coming days,” Hollande told reporters aboard his plane en route to Paris.
We’re being told that Moldova is anti-Rus and pro-EU cuz of Transnistra. But maaaaybe not: Two parties supporting Eurasian integration are leading in Moldova’s parliamentary elections held Sunday, according to preliminary results from the Moldovan Central Election Commission (CEC). http://itar-tass.com/en/world/764410
“In short, of the $3.2 billion disbursed to the Ukrainian treasury by the IMF at the start of May, $3.1 billion had disappeared offshore by the middle of August. The role of the leading Ukrainian banks, and of the Kiev officials allied with them, in arranging this was reported here. The IMF staff also reported to the Fund directors that it has lost confidence in Governor Gontareva (right) and the NBU as a custodian of the IMF loan money.” http://johnhelmer.net/?p=11289 This is the Dances with Bears site, best for nitty-gritty financial/business stuff for Russia/Ukraine.
The principal target, however, is Putin’s Russia, the single greatest threat today to that Superpower hegemony. The strategy is similar to what the US did with Saudi Arabia in 1986 when they flooded the world with Saudi oil, collapsing the price to below $10 a barrel and destroying the economy of then-Soviet ally, Saddam Hussein in Iraq and, ultimately, of the Soviet economy, paving the way for the fall of the Soviet Union. Today, the hope is that a collapse of Russian oil revenues, combined with select pin-prick sanctions designed by the US Treasury’s Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence will dramatically weaken Putin’s enormous domestic support
The Kombi van looking things would be the Russian UAZ, also known as bukhanka (“loaf of bread”) because of the shape. They’ve been around for decades and come in various forms, with or without side windows etc. and came in Army green as a standard colour option.
Veritas-thanks for link re Merkel-it seems to me she is still really really stirring it up being strong against those in Germany who want a dialogue route, wanting to supply arms/defend , re-inforcing Lithuanian paranoia wanting to prove to NATO they are up and coming buddies, to Baltic Countries. Moldovo and “our neighbour” Georgia-well it ain’t next door honey- as a NATO member(but “Germany” can’t supply arms?)–NATO say will not supply armaments to Ukraine but USA can????-more duplicity to be proven? Crimea still critical for her, the linchpin for her, as NATO says. Is she stating she prefers NATO above all else including economic well being surely, fronting out to anyone in Germany who might question this? The existing order cannot be questioned?
Both VP and Lavrov strongly hinting diplomatically and supporting negotiate both sides eg over coal/energy as a starting point even,to give every chance (cynical or not) or thought? that Dec 9 new peace agreements(which seems to have been well thought out re demarcation lines) could succeed , only if Ukr and USA don’t , or Rus can prove again there is no commitment that can be trusted from those parties? Remember new armaments sent to the Donbass by Poroshenko. I think Donetsk is still a major target to re-attain by AFU(last week intensive action), still I believe earlier posts incl mine, any provocation to draw Russian army/military in is desired by NATO, Rus still hanging onto route of peaceful ideals and humanitarian aid.Perhaps until VP gets more support from his associates internationally that ukr is continuing genocide. If only MH17 truth could clarify things a bit. Note VP talking to Hungary/Serbia they are not forgotten.Leave EU? Join also customs eurasia scheme? She seems to hint from Merkel she is nervous of this-unsurprisingly!And will use anything like this as proof of Rus agrression-which definition includes anything these days.
We’re being told that Moldova is anti-Rus and pro-EU cuz of Transnistra. But maaaaybe not:
that is after a pro-Russian party was forced to withdraw, for “using foreign funding in electioneering”.
The TASS figures Penelope quotes were early counting “The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) is gaining 23.4% with 30% of ballots counted. The Party of Communists is in second place with 20.2%. “
The final figures had these parties at only 20.5 and 17.4% respectively. The winners ended up Liberal Democrats 20.16 Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova 15.8 and Liberal Party 9.67 which together get 55 of the seats in the 101 seat chamber.
Something strange going on, as the Communists, who only got 2% were regularly polling 35 to 50% for nearly 2 years, in the last poll (September_ polling 35%. Stand by for allegations of fraud, although there were assorted international observers present.
OSCE described the election as “largely well run”, although they expressed concern at one party being removed just a few days before the elections. Even the US State Department claimed to share this concern (but only when their preferred pro-EU group had already won).
Moldova’s equivalent of Donbass is Transnistria, a tiny strip adjoining Ukraine, which broke away a few years ago and now contains a small Russia peacekeeping force to prevent further trouble with/from Moldova.
Moldova signed the first step of an association treaty with the EU in June, at which point Russia barred imports of wine, fruit and meat. If Moldova fully joins the EU it will lose the concessional price it gets or Russian gas.
Regarding the impending December 9th ceasefire in the Donbass, it is worth noting that Georgia on 8/8/08 attacked in South Ossetia the day after declaring a unilateral ceasefire (hours really), as did the Maidan crazies in Kiev after the solemn agreement between all concerned in February, both indubitably, almost openly, planned, organized, directed and controlled by the Empire. My recollection is that Porochenko proclaimed some similar ceasefire in the Eastern Ukraine in June just before attacking, also indubitably egged on by the Empire. So don’t surprised if the Ukes attack in force on or about December 10th. The Empire, like the Bourbons, remembers nothing and forgets nothing. And more importantly, forgives nothing. Since they can print money indefinitely, they’ll keep coming, as they have in North Korea these past 61 years, and in Cuba these past 55 years. Only an actual physical defeat, as in Vietnam, will deter them, and maybe not even there forever if they see an opening (some possibility of a color revolution, for example). Maybe an economic debacle might slow them down, but only a while, witness 2008.
Ukraine owes Russia about $1.5 billion by the end of the month. We all know that – it was part of the agreement to renew supplies of Russian gas to Ukraine on an adhoc basis. Does anyone seriously think Ukraine will make this payment though?
I suspect this payment will be delayed for some reason.
It might even happen that in the days before December 31 Ukraine makes an upfront payment for delivery of Russian gas in January perhaps of 1.5 bcm.
Then, it fails to make the payment of dues expected at year-end and Russia then cuts of the gas on January 1.
At which point the Ukraine will scream (rightly) that they have paid for a certain amount of gas from Russia.
And Russia will reply that yes, that is true, but that failure to settle the debts as agreed means no more gas until such debts are settled.
I can see this all happening in early January and this will be the point Ukraine starts stealing Russian gas going through to Europe and then Russia will cut off all gas flows to Europe through Ukraine……
Can anyone else see this playing out in about 4 weeks time????
Looks like Kiev City at least wants to look after its own.
Those who fought in the ATO or the families of those killed will not have to pay utilities bills. (Huge concession seeing currently nobody pays, it seems).
We’ve zsen many stories from limbless soldiers explaining how hard it is to prove they lost their arm/leg in the war, just to qualify for an el cheapo prosthetic. So who knows how they’ll prove they qualify for the free gas? =================== Mayor Klitchko has found 3 plots of forest near a village, which will be split up into roughly 10 acre plots to be given to returned servicemen. Connecting services and clearing the trees they won’t do,that is up to the recipient. “To determine the number of acres and the order of allocation of land and people, which it will get, will be a Commission of deputies of Kyiv city Council, members of ATU, representatives of min of defence and the Ministry of internal Affairs. However, while in the mayor’s office can’t tell the exact number of people who will get the land.
“The figures are very different on this one is three thousand Kiev, in another four to eight. After all, many of those who fought not only with the battalions of the Ministry of interior and Ministry of internal Affairs,” says council secretary Reznikov.
Something wrong with the numbers because Klitchko then says “First and foremost, the land will be allotted to the families of those killed, seriously injured or wounded. Now we have official data from the Commissar – 38 victims of Kiev, the number of participants,” ======================= the Public organization “Tamarin” decided to collect and send to Donbass “battalion combat disabled”. and asked the Kiev Council for 3 billion USD to equip them “For this money I want to buy 150 full sets of uniforms, vehicles for transportation of wheelchair users, the vehicle for operational work, 80 collimating sights, 8 army tents, office equipment. Vice-President of the organization, Ilya Kravchenko not confuse the limited capacity of people already affected in the area of the ATO.”
What can guys in wheelchairs, supplied with office equipment, do in a war zone?
Turn out the amount is a mistake, they only want 3 million, not billion, and only in UAH not dollars (roughly 16 UAH to a $ now so that’s a big difference). but they tried ;)
Rejecting the idea, Deputy Oleksandr Pabat said “These issues should be centrally special organization of the social protection. Now, unfortunately scattered many strange organizations, which under the guise of helping participants of ATO want to get budget money. Although I do not exclude that this organization goal is very noble,”
Rada approved the purchase of electricity from neighbouring countries, as a price not to be more than the monthly weighted average of their own thermal plant costs. Or whatever they can get.
Deputy energy Minister (at the time) Vadim Alida was dismissed on November 26 for buying foreign electricity… but only for not having gotten permission first, so the then Minister was embarrassed not knowing about it when the media asked.
(Since then the pesky media problem has been solved by making the Ministry of Truth).
Current Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said that Kyiv hoped to soon resolve the issue of import of electricity from Russia. But he noted that Moscow is “posing as a condition” the uninterrupted supply of power to Crimea.
As we already know, there have been rolling blackouts all over, because they didn’t organise to buy coal in time, and now nobody wants to sell them any, without ridiculous conditions like “stop shooting at us first”.
What’s with all these conditions from “business partners”???
But…” on 5 December, the state company “Ukrenergo” approved schedules of blackouts in the country, which will be produced twice a day.”
At least there is SOMETHING they can still produce.

New Ukrainian ministers don’t speak Ukrainian
Mikle1 – Live Journal

Statement from current Georgian ministers to the effect that the new Health Minister’s only activity in the same position in Georgia had been to buy up all the pharmacies and hospitals. For himself.
http://fortruss.blogspot.com.au/2014/12/the-new-minister-of-health-of-ukraine.html
The parties discussed the possibility of supplying humanitarian aid for the Donbas people living in the occupied territories.”
http://www.president.gov.ua/en/news/31697.html

Sorry Saker.I think and know that you are great ..but you have to do some analysis of Strelkov’s statements to Zavtra in November.

Where are the sitereps? These Ukraine blog sites have gone downhill since the ‘ceasefire’
part 1:
the condition of U.S.

New York Times propagandists exposed: Finally, the truth about Ukraine and Putin emerges
NATO was the aggressor and got Ukraine wrong. Many months later, the media has eventually figured out the truth
Patrick L. Smith
http://www.salon.com/2014/12/04/new_york_times_propagandists_exposed_finally_the_truth_about_ukraine_and_putin_emerges/

Therefore, we are ready to discuss favorable conditions for business, including, at least on a temporary basis, the common customs area, and preservation of hryvnia as a currency “, – said Purgin.

from several blogs:
Moscow development assistance officials have decided to keep out of the occupied territories after some 1400 partisans were picked up by SBU in one week, in Kharkiv. This is a huge loss of people, as up to half of them may not be seen again. They could use a few prayers, frm those here who do.
They are recommending against open protest, of course, but have nothing to do with the underground work, which is a special forces responsibility.[Perhaps this ties in with Bezler being in the area].

Some of the “old” ones don’t speak it either to a “good” standard.
Fortunately this is probably one attribute they likely will not need.
After all the “old” onbes didn’t manage to communicate well, and why change a “winning” formula?

Sergey Berezovsky – Facebook

Surprisingly, in a press release issued this morning, the member-owned cooperative, reveals that not only has it received “calls to disconnect institutions and entire countries from its network – most recently Israel and Russia”, but that it regrets “the pressure” as the “surrounding media speculation, both of which risk undermining the systemic character of the services that SWIFT provides its customers around the world.”

I read that Russia starts selling coal to Ukraine again. Is that not stupid? Why Russia is acting so soft, even helping Kiev?

Putin has a heart.
Apparently it accidentally got sent to a border crossing not controlled by Ukraine, so extra administration in getting it to them :)
incompetents have heaps of coal they don’t know about
Governor of (occupied) Luhansk, Gennady Moskal, sttes there is more than 122,000 tonnes of coal ON KIEV TERRITORY.
Bad luck.

A good blog which contains a lot of articles and links about the War:
http://fortruss.blogspot.be/
Economic warfare the main Western weapon.

It’s “democracy – AIPAC/Jewish lobby style”. When one sees such an overwhelming vote one way by western politicians, it means the Israel/Jewish lobbies are leaning heavy on them. Keep that in mind when people try to spin the “Israel isn’t involved this time” line.

“To make a long story short, the faultline within Anglo-Zionist ranks, between finance on one side and Neocons on the other, appears to be on full public display. Again, this appears to be an open fight between Bilderbergers (finance) and Bohemian Grovesters (big oil/arms/mainstream media) on the other with the former now siding openly with Putin and Russia.”

“Now, by forcing Bulgaria, an EU member, to halt South Stream, using blackmail of a Bulgarian bank bailout last June, the EU has made itself dependent on gas security via Ukraine, a country the EU’s own political spinelessness has helped turn into a failed state ruled by a cabal of Brussels-and-Washington backed gangsters and oligarchs.

Does anyone know the name/model/manufacturer of the vans that appear in so many videos recorded in Ukraine? I refer to the ones that look like simpler versions of older VW campervans.

The IMF staff also reported to the Fund directors that it has lost confidence in Governor Gontareva (right) and the NBU as a custodian of the IMF loan money.”

Today, the hope is that a collapse of Russian oil revenues, combined with select pin-prick sanctions designed by the US Treasury’s Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence will dramatically weaken Putin’s enormous domestic support

bukhanka (“loaf of bread”) because of the shape.

@ Penelope who said…
We’re being told that Moldova is anti-Rus and pro-EU cuz of Transnistra. But maaaaybe not:
that is after a pro-Russian party was forced to withdraw, for “using foreign funding in electioneering”.
The TASS figures Penelope quotes were early counting
“The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) is gaining 23.4% with 30% of ballots counted.
Same story, pretty much. But they never learn.
Next Ukraine flashpoint? December 31/ January 1.
Look out for January folks….
===================
Mayor Klitchko has found 3 plots of forest near a village, which will be split up into roughly 10 acre plots to be given to returned servicemen.
Something wrong with the numbers because Klitchko then says
“First and foremost, the land will be allotted to the families of those killed, seriously injured or wounded. Now we have official data from the Commissar – 38 victims of Kiev, the number of participants,”
=======================
the Public organization “Tamarin” decided to collect and send to Donbass “battalion combat disabled”. and asked the Kiev Council for 3 billion USD to equip them
“For this money I want to buy 150 full sets of uniforms, vehicles for transportation of wheelchair users, the vehicle for operational work, 80 collimating sights, 8 army tents, office equipment.
