Dear friends
Today I am driving all day, but since there is a very serious color revolution that seems to be taking place in Kazakhstan, I am therefore creating an open thread. Please feel free to share any decent information and commentaries below. According to Russian sources, the usual US-controlled disinformation resources (including Ukie ones!) are out in full force to support the insurrection. The levels of violence are very high, even ambulances are attacked, cops are beaten up, disarmed, undressed, and humiliated, weapons stores have been emptied. The Internet has been disconnected, as has power in many parts of Almaty and Nursultan. This is a repeat of what the US tried in Belarus and in Kyrgyzstan, and the next couple of days will be crucial. Many government buildings have been seized and burned, some have been re-taken by the authorities. Law and order have broken down and groups of thugs are controlling the streets in many locations. There are reports of organized armed groups engaging in firefights with police, security, and military forces. One source reports that Kazakh Airborne Forces are also engaged. There are also reports of Takfiri elements using these riots (officially triggered by an increase in the cost of gas).
Official sources report 8 dead and 317 wounded among the police forces. The authorities lost control over several cities (including Alma-Ata) and 3 airports (part of which were torched). Astana and Pavlodar remain under the control of authorities.
President Tokaev has mentioned that he might request the assistance of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. So far the offices of the CSTO say that they have received no such official request.
Martial law has been decreed for the entire country.
These events are a direct threat to both Russia and China. Turkey seems to be pushing its pan-Turkic agenda. The CIA supported Uighur Takfiris also seemed to be involved. This is all taken straight out of the CIA playbook: Twitter, Telegram channels (including NEXTA), Soros-funded organizations, etc. are all deeply involved (including Ukie PSYOPs units).
It is absolutely crucial for the Kazakh authorities to restore law and order ASAP. Will they have the needed resolve and resources? I don’t know. Opinions?
Kind regards
Andrei
UPDATE: it appears that President Tokaev has claimed that his country was under foreign intervention and has requested the aid of the CSTO. You can click here for machine-translated news from Sputnik Kazakstan.
Money taken from my paycheck every week and ever year used to cause death destruction and mayhem
Money created out of thin air dumped into the economy triggering inflation used for death destruction & mayhem
All of this is done so that a handful of private central bankers and their insider lackeys can have even more wealth and power as part of their incessant multi-generational goal to rule over everyone
Russia, China and the axis of resistance can keep the beast (army of the Beast ?) in check, but
Only the American people are in a position to rise up and save the planet from this monster.
Its our responsibility and the job is long overdue
Richard you are so right, but man people in this country have bought the swill. I was in a group called planet VS Pentagon, as we watch earth try and remove us Americans and Europeans are completely unaware of who the largest carbon polluter in the world by far is! This group got this but also everyone of them
fell for every BS cluster F the cia media put out. From Russia gate to genocide in China. Russia bad China bad. It made no difference what I told them. The day I walked away was a few days after Putin gave his demands to Biden. They had NO CLUE!
How can you fight something when you have no clue where they are dropping bombs no clue that the media is run by the CIA no clue why we spend endless amounts of money on the pentagon! Everyone here should watch don’t look up! Absolutely nails it.
Statement from the MFA just a little while ago.
Press statement (https://is.gd/JATPJY) on the developments in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
☝️ We are closely following the developments in the neighbourly fraternal country.
We call for peaceful solutions to all issues within the constitutional and legal framework and through a dialogue, not through street riots and violations of law. This is exactly what the efforts by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev are aimed at: stabilising the situation and prompt settlement of the pressing problems, including those mentioned in the protesters’ legitimate demands.
We expect a prompt normalisation of the situation in the country, with which Russia has relations of strategic partnership and alliance, as well as brotherly and friendly contacts.
We are keeping in contact with Russian foreign missions in Kazakhstan. The situation around our diplomatic and consular offices remains peaceful. According to the information currently available, no Russian citizens have been injured in the protests in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It is important to note “no Russian citizens have been injured”, it does not mention ethnic Russians who a large percentage of the population in Almaty.

Is there any doubt Russia, China, et al, will not allow Kazakhstan to disintegrate? It is an integral part of the New Silk Road, the Belt & Road Initiative, a true multi-vectorial branching of China into the West via Central and South Western Asia.

Looks like an attempt to divert russian’s attention from the western front. Only time will tell, if the West is going to succeed.
I note claim “The US is Preparing a Biological Time Bomb in Kazakhstan” (use as searchterm) indicates that several “bio-labs exist in Kstan. and I wonder if these “labs” will continue to operate as zone A footholds after the CSTO mops up. Somehow I doubt that they will continue to run under zone A rule.
And note the MOA has a good entry on the affair. and presents link> https://media.washtimes.com/media/misc/2019/04/24/RAND_RR3063.pdf (RAND plan to fubar Russia)
And agree that it seems like the action was taken in a hasty manner, probably due to the not-an-ultimatum screwing up the schedule. The entirely coincidental coal explosion in Baltimore is…well, there are no coincidences, are there?
The esteemed fine gentlemen must be terribly afraid if they act so hurried, eh?
@ Heinz and others on same issue
“The living conditions for ordinary Kazakhs are miserable. Meanwhile the elites are bathing in houses abroad and embezzled money…”
True, no question about that. Look at the waste that is Astana, a depravity in the middle of so much poverty. If the billions of dollars wasted in building a city from scratch in the middle of the Central Asian stepp, would have been invested in bettering the lives of the common people, Kazakhstan wouldn’t be facing such conundrum.
However, the issue is a lot more complicated than the proverbial struggle between the haves and the have-nots. At a local level, we can clearly see the reasons behind the uprising, Enter geopolitics, since no country exists in a vacuum, and the situation gets more complicated.
The question is, Cui bono?
The main force taking advantage of a legitimate uprising against injustice, the Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan, led by a corrupt crook wanted in several countries, Mukhtar Ablyazov, is not so democratic, and it is not a choice. He’s being promoted by RFE/RL (read CIA) as the man behind the protesters, waiting in Ukraine (thank you, Saker) for his next chance to continue stealing.
People in countries who treaded the socialist path at some point or another in the former Soviet Union, find themselves caught between the corrupt oligarchies created after the break up, and the mirage sold to them via internet about how “rich” they could be if only they would live in “freedom and democracy.” It is the same garbage fed to Cubans that makes them risk their life to get to “paradise” Miami, only to find themselves at the bottom of a racist ladder.
The “multi-vector” delusion is a misnomer, just one more opportunity for the ruling elites to grow richer making business with the West, the only other “vector.” The masses in these countries have been left at the mercy of the market, lacking in everything, even the most basic political education which, during “socialist” times, used to provide a cohesion of sorts between the ruling elites and the people. Abandoned to their miserable fate, mesmerized by consumerism, these people are ready to jump at every opportunity whenever a carrot is dangling before their eyes, not knowing their “sponsors” are working against their interests.
It is not an easy predicament these countries and their people are going through, insurrections and uprisings are healthy reminders something is amiss in a society, regardless of who takes advantage of them. Kazakhstan governing elites might be given a chance to rethink their policies, as it seems they might survive this coup attempt, though not unscathed. The material damage in multiple cities is only a symbol of a deep social fracture that needs to be healed if Kazakhstan wants to remain a viable nation-state.

PS: As for all of those posters who are accusing Putin of not being a clairvoyant, they are in the wrong forum, need to look for a soothsayer blog on psychics or cartomancy.
I guess it is out in the open now. The Russian Foreign Ministry made a further statement and this is important:

Assalaamu alaykum w w. I saw something on youtube today that made me so happy mashallah.

A billionaire banker, accused by Russia, Ukraine & Kazakhstan, named
Mukhtar Ablyazov, appears to be the instigator or leader of these ‘protests’. He is currently enjoying life in France as they will not extradite him to any of these countries who have warrants on him for fraud & embezzlement of billions. He is named in the Panama Papers.
Turns out, France gets 40% of it’s uranium, needed for their 56 nuclear reactors, from Kazakhstan. so it would be beneficial for them to have a puppet gov’t installed that is friendly to them.
It also looks as if Ablyazov was running his operation thru Ukraine, so it will be interesting to see if the group of Ukrainians who are currently stuck in Kazakhstan, unable to fly out right now, have legitimate ID’s or are part of the foreign mercenaries that are roaming around, armed to the teeth.
This smells like a coup attempt & it’s failing horribly. Which is good.
Also interesting this occurs a week before Putin is to meet w/ Biden and NATO. A swift victory in Kazakhstan will show the west they’re playing with fire here.

Sources of French uranium: https://www.oecd-nea.org/jcms/pl_15004
France is on page 236 (238 per PDF)
Note: no uranium mining in France since 1999.. Current active French uranium mining is from 4 countries – Niger, Namibia, Kazakhstan and Canada..
This coup-attempt was so clumsy, and headed by a Hollywood-villain type, operating from Ukraine while living in France. It is as if designed to fail, and spectacularly so. But enough to enrage Kazakhstan. Reminds of some past clients being burned by their security agency handlers, either to embarrass framed targets or ensure repercussions. Kazakhstan, also providing much of current coal to Ukraine, will now have disincentive in that direction too.
Could France and its nuclear industry (and overall Europe energy sources) be the target of the Anglo 5 eyes? This could be a play to break relations between Kazakhstan and France, as being achieved in Niger and other African sources through ongoing reversal of Françafrique. The last major uranium supplier to France is Canada, which is part of the 5 Eyes.. When time comes, they will do as Australia did and break trading relations.
A clever way to ensure dark winter in fickle and self-reliant France – the remaining major nation of EU with stable energy and 3% sovereignty.
With USUK as allies, who needs enemies?
An update from China – all their oil facilities and road building is safe and outside of the chaos. They signal trust in the Kazakhstan government on the side of business.

I forgot to post the link. And who knows. Maybe the russians have something installed in the missiles that prevents them from being successfully used against Russian aircrafts.

It’s all so depressing.
Mopping up some disloyal government under supervision of CSTO forces?
(Akin to protecting Western bending Armenia after letting Azerbadjan giving them some deserved spanking?)
Kindly observe this apparent altercation between Government security forces and the bad guys.
https://t.me/boris_rozhin/19047
Notice. Not a one of the bad guys fell, no casualties at all among them. Means Government forces were pulling their punches, at least in this minor altercation. And it wasn’t ‘blank fire’ from Government, blank fire requires change of the muzzle break which, whilst it takes but seconds, could give the bad guys the seconds they need to close in and have a nose to nose confrontation. The range between the two forces is what is known as ‘point blank’, IOW up close and personal.

Sigh. Too much vino and good Sevastopol Champagne this eventide at dinner. For ‘muzzle break’ please read the correct term: ‘Muzzle Brake’, IOW absorbs some of the recoil of the weapon, hence ‘brake’ as opposed to what my vino oiled fingers wrote, ‘break’. Very easy to change the brake but you gotta know how.
Auslander, enjoying some very good Massandrah Muskat Rozeveh and Muskat Byeleh with VCO. Can’t export it, sanctions you know, so while it’s a dirty job someone has to drink it. We will both fulfill our duty to Mat Rossiya on this Christmas Eve and consume both bottles of Massandrah.
Happy Christmas out there!
My riot control training, was apart from shooting the man in the red shirt, (what’s wrong with red shirts?) was that only a third to a half of the group had blanks and muzzle brakes. And that anyone who fired a live round before the order would be castrated and hung out to dry. Enjoy your Christmas Eve/Christmas Day.
A few comments.
The gas referred to is not piped gas. It is not gasoline/petrol/benzine. It is LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas), a former oil well waste, that was commercialised. It is/was cheap and is used for short distance vehicles, especially taxis and marshrutka.
Kazakh are nominally Muslim, in the way that most westerners are nominally Christian. My experience with Kazakhs is from the baikeri who attend the Irbit Bike Show. Hard drinking, fun loving, love pork shashlik, blessed are the peacemakers, type of people. Are they typical Kazakhs? Everything from labourers to machinists, to surgeons. Why are they peacemakers? Apparently clans are still common in Kazakhstan, and it is better to stop a fight before it starts. They also have no problems with the Russian Kazakhs.
Kazakhstan is an extremely corrupt country. Probably almost as bad as the USA. People in the south are extremely poor. That makes them easy to radicalise. Almaty was the former capital, and when it moved to Astana, a lot of people got left out. A perfect breeding ground for dissent.
While the Russians were more prepared to act than they were with Ukraine, where they are continuing to pay a severe price for their passivity, we need to ask how this situation came so close to another color revolution right on their borders. None of these former Soviet republics are really viable as independent countries, economically and politically. In fact in this age of globalized finance, few countries are truly sovereign. While the Russian Federation may have taken the attitude of keeping hands off and letting these new countries find their own way, you can be sure this is not what the West has been doing. They’ve saturated places with NGO’s and operatives of all sorts to move the entire civil society in the direction they want.
In the absence of counter-efforts by the Russians and Chinese, they will inevitably succeed. No amount of hypersonic missiles will prevent this, any more than MIRV’s and tanks saved the Soviet Union. Fidel Castro in his later years stressed that the main confrontation with the west is in the battle of ideas. That is, incessant propaganda about democracy and human rights, psy-ops, information warfare accompanied by various forms of de-stabilization. This is a whole new form of warfare, of equal importance to the others. The Russian response, rather than to develop their own abilities in this area, seems to have been simply to hope it will go away. It won’t.
Military intervention, while necessary to restore order, is only a stop-gap measure. The real work remains to be done. I don’t understand why NGO’s are allowed to operate in all these countries, as well as in Russia itself, with tremendous influence on the political process, but one way or another, the Russians and Chinese need to develop their own versions.
Thank you for a true and sobering post. This level of sloppiness must have partly to do with a tacit assumption that the West is ultimately superior – creating a self-fulfilling prophecy!
More important, modern concept of war fighting is moving away from the crude kinetic action to psychological (cognitive and affective) modes of warfare. As comrade Fidel rightly says, it is about ideas but now it is even more about perceptions, understanding and feeling.
While Russia has the ability to lead the world in this domain, this will not happen until the Russian elites (few honourable exceptions aside) free themselves from the hugely damaging inferiority complex which mars all their actions and ideas.

I agree with both of these comments.
The West, led by the Anglo-Americans, are dominant in soft power; control over the global “free press”; and ultimately colonizing the hearts and minds of the world–including in those nations they are targeting for conquest.
Hard power–like military–is not enough to fight this American/Western threat.
Just to reiterate the importance of this issue, NATO is now adopting a warfighting strategy called Cognitive Warfare, which indeed emphasizes that the “brain will be the battlefield of the 21st century” against both other nations and even NATO’s own citizens.

At some point Russia will tire of fighting the pawns and make the decision to go for the head of the beast.
With Kazakhstan, I think those days are drawing very near.
Look out for further incidents in other Central Asian republics
