Over the past few days I tried really hard to ignore the propaganda about the use of chemical weapons by Syrian government forces? Why? Frankly, I am very busy these days, and that entire story is so self evidently ridiculous that I naively hoped that somehow at least the governments in the US and UK would not feel like they have to pretend like this is anything but the usual war propaganda. I had hoped that maybe the NGOs which fabricated this story would be content to have the mainstream media pick it up and that maybe, just maybe, London and Washington would have the common sense to ignore it. I know, I was naive. Whether this was all setup by some Anglo secret service, or whether they were just happy to go with the story really makes no difference to me since I honestly believe that anybody with just a modicum of intelligence would realize how stupid this latest fairy tale is. I was wrong.
Ok, the let’s go down the basics here:
a) The US/NATO/al-Qaeda coalition has not had a single meaningful success so far. In fact, its the opposite: the Syrian army which initially showed rather poor tactical skills has very skillfully adapted to this new environment and is doing a great job keeping the insurgents on the defensive in most of the country. To put it simply – the regime has zero interest/motive/reason to use chemical munitions.
b) Since both the US and Israel have been making all sorts of threats about how absolutely and totally unacceptable any use of chemical weapons would be, the regime has all the interests/motives/reasons to make absolutely sure that under no circumstances could chemical munitions be involved.
c) The civil war in Syria is, to a large extend, a war for the hearts and minds of the Syrian people and thanks to the barbaric behavior of the insurgency in the zones they temporarily occupy, an increasing number of Syrians who never liked the regime are still siding with it as a lesser of two evils. In this context, using chemical weapons would make no sense at all
The situation of the insurgency is diametrically opposed to the one of the Syrian regime.
a) Since the insurgency has not been able to win using conventional insurgency tactics, it has nothing to lose and everything to gain from using chemical munitions.
b) Since the insurgency has not been able to win using conventional insurgency tactics, it has nothing to lose and everything to gain to give the US and Israel the excuse to get involved in this war.
c) Since the insurgency has clearly lost the battle for the hearts and minds of the Syrian people – hence its very heavy reliance on foreign fighters – it does not need to worry about its popularity since the only way to win for it now is to rely on even more violence and terror.
And, besides that, I have also seen the articles out there about the fat that the chemicals used were not even from Syrian stockpiles, but that they were brought in from Turkey (Google it, I cannot do that now). Oh, and one last point: most of the victims were pro-regime civilians, treated in government hospitals (again, a Google search will corroborate that).
The only thing which amazes me is that no “freedom fighter” has found a laptop with the detailed plans of Assad (all in English, of course), on how he personally orders to use chemical weapons on innocent Syrian civilians and then on how we will then fire all his chemical weapons at Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, to commit another genocide of 6 million Jews… That would have been perfect.
But now that even that sorry Uncle Tom of Obama has begun making threats about this fiction being a “game changer” I want to categorically state that anybody who seriously believes this latest invention of the Anglo propaganda machine is a drooling idiot whose lack of even basic common sense is total.

More idiotic and lame than the rtv russian documentary you have posted before, certainly.. But your post was not far off.
@Rodi: Hi Rodi, welcome to this blog. I wish you had substantiated your opinion with an argument or two, it would have made it more interesting, I think. Still, if unsubstantiated but sanguine statements is you preferred style of expression, you are welcome to let it stand “as is” and the rest of us will make our own conclusions :-)
Cheers,

Interesting, people are yet to call my comments sanguine other than you. I will take it as a compliment.
Anyways, to get back to the documentary, i will have to say there was quite some acting just like the ones turks film about their struggle against “kurdish issue/problem” and of course its not the same case but scenes in the way of explaining and defending their utmost survival reasons are similar to those in the rtv docu.

I think that I see what you are trying to suggest here but, unfortunately, this falls short of qualifying as a “substantiation”. Let me try to help you with that and show you why:
You seem to suggest a parallel between the situation of Kurds in Turkey and Chechens in Russia. There are several problems with that. First, you never list the reasons which, in your opinion, make such a parallel applicable. Second, you are assuming that those reading you will somehow guess what assumptions you make (in my case my only exposure to the Kurdish issue was here http://rastibini.blogspot.com/2007/07/vineyardsakers-interview-with-comments.html and I am a quasi total ignoramus about this complex topic. Then you make a claim (there was quite some acting) which you are trying to use to substantiate your previous claim (More idiotic and lame) and yet this latter claims also comes wholly unsubstantiated. Even worse, even if for argument’s sake we accept your claim, you fail to explain how the two are connected (why does acting imply idiotic or lame?). Then you go on to actually invalidate your parallel (of course its not the same case) only to immediately state that even though these are different cases there is a “similarity” (which you perceive but do not define or, much less so, establish) which therefore makes the parallel relevant. Let me tell you this: sharks and dolphins live in the ocean (similarity #1), they have fins (similarity #2) and they can jump out of the water (similarity #3). Yet sharks are fish and dolphins are mammals. You cannot prove anything about sharks by using dolphins to illustrate your point, at least not without a lot of qualifiers and caveats.
These are just a few basic pointers, a few hints really, I could have gone into much more details. The bottom line is this: it appears that you are unable to articulate a logical argument, substantiated by facts and analyzed in a logical manner. Don’t let that discourage you. Instead, begin with small steps. For example, rather than dismissing a full documentary, try taking one short scene, and see if you can logically evaluate it. Also, when trying to make a point, make sure to systematically check it against a good list of known fallacies. I highly recommend this one:

If you get stuck, or to not understand, try asking for help. While I personally cannot commit to some tutoring, you can probably find some friends who will be glad to help you out.
Good luck and kind regards :-)

What substantiation, i have not even seen the point of actually thinking that ridiculous video post in which you seem to believe in even deserves any substantiation or for arguments sake any kind of reasoning other than the fact that the usisraelins do actually not allow or care about any “other sided” story with any conflict they are involved with and i do agree on that part with the video post.
No matter, i have to say i am not looking down or talking condesending on the post to insult but giving my pure sincerety of feelings towards it because that is exactly how i feel about it.
The lack of realistic taping and sincerety combined with selfish one sided story shows the video as if it has been copied from us or saudi version. And there is nothing more i feel to add to other than easily discrediting the video because of its very fake and i say again fake like nature.
Sincerely,
R
Qatar and Israel want to build a gas pipeline thru Assad’s land, what he as a Putin-friend declines.
Sure they do with their allies USA their atmost (in PR and media) to align the public opignition in their direction.
But after the fake proof they presented the public before the war on Iraq the public does believe everything any longer and is much more sceptical nowadays.
